Stunning accommodation!
Nice and big villa , excellent breakfast and nice facilities
The beach is not for swimming The stairs
This place is very unique and special place..Relaxing and chill to hang out through nature and gardening. The vila was AMAZING...the pools and Jacuzzi were amazing too....The food on breakfast , lunch and dinner were really fine dining. The other facilities such as campfire, bicycles , lessons as like Yoga and outdoor activities were WOW!! And the clif and the beach was 5 min walk. Bottom line, PERFECT SPOT>>>100% going back on my next trip to Purtogal to this place>>>
Staff were 5 star. So friendly and helpful. David showed us around and couldn’t have done more for us. Super attentive without being overbearing. Everything was great. The grounds, the gardens, the beach, the spa, the kids area. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. And good value for the level of luxury
Everything very nice, property location and staff
Swimming pool water temperature was too cold. Kids didnt want to go inside. The swimming pool It was one of the main reasons to book it
Einzigartig.
Areios do Seixo is a truly unique place. Stunning architecurally, in an authentic but sophisticated complex right next to the wild Atlantic coast.
Nice place with a great villa concept, finished to the detail. Great atmosphere. Welcoming
Slightly overpriced. Slow service and extra charges for eg sauna
Everything was wonderful!
Beautifully designed, spacious, creative. The grounds were really well considered, lots of little details that went the extra mile like go karting for kids through the kitchen garden, hens to visit in a gorgeous environment an adventure playground. All of this hidden and in keeping with the eco conscious design overall. The food was so fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. The greenhouse for breakfast was a dream. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Some light/lamps not in ideal places above heads on beds. Entrance to mezzanine beds dangerous for small kids (needs a barrier). Showers leaked a little water in bathrooms. A more simplistic menu for kids for dinner (and cheaper) would be ideal. The pool was unusable in April due to the temperature.
The confort and the beautiful decoration of the villas, the perfect mix of luxury and sustainability, the activities that are available in the hotel. The professionalism and the kindness of the staff. The food from breakfast to dinner was absolutely divine !
They could give some teabag, milk and maybe some fruits in the villa, because the kitchen is completely empty, and market are a bit far from the hotel. And provide sleepers as the floor is cold.
Good condition, rooms ok but a bit small.
Main bedroom was good size the other rooms were too small for adults to share.
breakfast was v special in the greenhouse. v memorable, airy location a bit remote but lots of activities and great shuttle to Santa Cruz Great massage
weather unseasonally cold and foggy but not much you can do about it
Great spot. Beautiful buildings and staff.
Very minimal amenities were available. Paper towels/ salt/pepper/olive oil etc. just the basics. Had to buy it all for a cpl nights stay. Beautiful place though.
It is a very unique stay, the villa was perfect for the location.
I loved the property, but a children’s pool might be nice. The Adult only pool was great for me! But not for the kids. Although villas come with a pool, they are too small for good swimmers. We did go to Noah’s surf house and that was good, but always meant hopping in the car.
Beautiful villa and hotel! Worth the stay in Santa Cruz! We loved the villa, the restaurant, the breakfast greenhouse and food, yoga lessons, walk to the beach, the beach. Absolutely stunning!
Strange that they don’t accept kids in the restaurant considering it is a family resort with villas. We were travelling with our teen girls and couldn’t bring them with us to dinner… we ended up going to Noah’s Surf house which was great. I would suggest accepting kids at an earlier seating or 10 and above.
The breakfast serre is gorgeous and amazing Beautiful views Amazing and friendly staff Booked evening at the garden dome which was really beautiful Very beautiful and spacious house Well equipped Quiet and tranquil Every sleeping room has own badroom Terrras

Remote, stylisch, back to nature
Alles gut
Amazing Sustainable Architecture and ethos. Food and accommodation was next level and such a treat to experience. Definitely worth a second visit and longer stay.
Villas were not adequately stocked and could have basic condiments
Spectacular design, spectacular service, incredible spa, and wonderful restaurants in the most beautiful setting
We have stayed at this hotel several times now. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the level of service was evident. The staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism, ensuring our check-in was smooth and personalised. The hotel's location couldn't be more perfect, nestled in a picturesque setting with breathtaking views, making every moment there a pure delight. The culinary experience was exceptional with all cooked from their garden and organic, hand made.each dish was a masterpiece of flavours, showcasing local ingredients with a twist of innovation. Attention to detail was apparent in every corner, from the meticulously designed rooms to the thoughtful amenities that anticipated our every need. We love the yoga classes. They also offer spa treatments and special experiences that are worth trying. This hotel truly sets the bar high, offering an unforgettable experience that blends luxury, comfort, and unparalleled hospitality.
Everything , amazing place with incredible staff.

This place is just a piece of heaven, where you can unwind and relax, going to beach, riding bikes, having a yoga session early mornings. this is what what a vacation really is.
Absolutly nothing.
Everything is perfect! Nice decor, nice staff and excellent activities ! Spa is amazing !

Beautiful designed villas
The villas are very close to each other and there is a lack of privacy
Beautiful villas with private pool which are well appointed and well equipped. We stayed in the villa green with a family of 4 and it was the luxury and private space we hoped for. Having access to the hotel lobby, bar and pool (if you are over 16 years) was the cherry on top as it was peaceful and child free. The staff are all amazing and so friendly. Nothing is too much trouble! A perfect 5 star holiday place , we were blown away !
Nothing. It was magical
Very spacious and wonderful views
It was on the access road so woken up by cars in the early morning
The breakfast was amazing and visually beautiful. They had a variety of options for all of our family members, kids included. Really nice service, very polite staff, always Happy to help.
Honestly, everything was perfect, We have no complaints nor extra wishes. Our stay was a dream!
Perfect place! Beautiful villas. Nicest people.

Absolutly outstanding!!
We stayed in a villa with three families and children. The resort is incredibly beautiful, and the villas are even better. Loved having breakfast in the greenhouse and the ability to get meals delivered to the villas was great as well.
Absolutely every single minute. This place is magical. Such a beautiful gorgeous genuine kind authentic home away from home. So good for the soul. The villas are gorgeous and creative and homely. The food is the best I have eaten. The best quality, cooked with care and attention, local organic and truly cared for. The staff are passionate and experienced. Love love loved the sing along around the fire pit with NuNos and the gentleman from Como. Complimentary wine and amazing atmosphere and music. We would have loved it to be every night. Creates a beautiful atmosphere Great playground for kids.
Nothing
the property was exceptional. very beautiful, and essentially the building and ground were an effort to assimilate into nature. the greenhouse restaurant, in particular, was beautiful.
I liked everything about the property!
the nature and the decoration
misleading information when booking the accommodation and the fact that private owners can bring their dogs but hosts at Areais do Seixo, who are just side by side cannot. the reason given for that is to allow for a quiet environment which is totally not the case as others can have their dogs
attention to detail, comfort and calmness
the only thing we weren’t happy with was that they charged our 13 & 15 year old daughters at full adult prices for all set menu meals even though they couldn’t drink alcohol. otherwise everything was amazing.
An amazing place to stay. The villa was beautiful and well stocked with essentials. The Staff were wonderful, very attentive but in a relaxed an easy manner. Breakfast in The Greenhouse was perfect, lovely surroundings and the food was excellent. Tried both the room service and BBQ delivery pack and both were very good.
We stayed with older children and the menu was perfect for us but some may find it limiting and more suited to adults.
More cul de sac than chic boutique hotel. Our view was over a building site and scaffolding. It feels the property has been developed in a hurry with corners cut and no proper attention to detail (no robes, no shelves in the bathroom et ), more design heavy than practical. We were also not told prior to our arrival that children could not use the pool. It felt like this is a poor neighbour to the main hotel
Our family stayed in a 3-bed villa for a week in July. The villas are very spacious and nicely decorated with natural and recycled materials, with a nice, relaxed feel. The resort is in a beautiful natural setting of dunes and natural vegetation a short walk away from the villas. It also has some sustainability features like heat pumps, solar panels and solar shading over some windows, and an organic vegetable and herb garden. They have a kids area with a range of activities, which which was never busy, I presume due to the small number of villas. Our kids 9 and 6 enjoyed the trampolines, bikes and pedal karting. The family BBQ night was a highlight, as well as the circle of fire, where we met other families and guests. The breakfast area in the greenhouse is quite special too. But the main reason I am taking the time to write my first Trip Advisor review is the staff. They were simply delightful. Always friendly, attentive and accommodating, without exception. We went for the setting and design, but really would come back for the people.
beautiful, very clean
nothing
My family and I recently stayed in a villa for five nights at Areias do Seixo. The design of the villa and common areas is really nice and fits perfectly with the stunning natural surroundings. The breakfasts in the greenhouse were also very special and the quality and selection of food and drink items was wonderful. Our only complaint would be that the lunch and dinner service at the hotel is challenging. Very nice but verrrry slow service, and a small and expensive menu limited to, shall we say, quite healthy things served in quite small portions. On the other hand, the restaurants associated with the hotel but located a 10 minute drive away - Noah's Beach House and Noah's Surf House - are fantastic.
Lets me start off by saying there are many great things about having a chic 3-bedroom vila - just the size alone is so much better than a typical hotel room when traveling with a family or friends. I didn't realize until arriving that the Areias do Seixo hotel is so different compared to the vilas - a completely different experience. The positive of a vila here (as I said) is the size, and also the amenities inside - a full kitchen with any items you'd need (pots, pans, etc). A huge outdoor space for BBQing, a table to fit 10 easily, and access to the main hotel's services like room service/gardens/beach. There's no double it's a beautiful place with nice staff. I'll highlight a few drawbacks I didn't expect, the first is the vilas are literally next to a road. There aren't many cars, but I pictured something remote and in nature - these is not that. Walk to the main hotel and you quickly get the nature vibe. The vilas feel like they're in a village. Not one with nice cobble stones, one with asphalt... Also, this is not a place for kids under 2. The hotel provided us 1 gate, but we would need 3-4 more to actually keep kids safe without constant monitoring. The floating stairs have just enough room for a small child to wiggle between. The pool could easily have a small barrier to prevent kids access, but that's not an option. Lastly, I'm convinced the designer actually tried to make the vilas non-private (or anti-private if that's a word?). Either they wanted some kind of community feel, or they were a voyeur - I'm not sure which, but you should know what you're getting into here. The pools are directly in front of the street. The main windows has 1 small curtain that covers about 30% of the glass. The top floor balcony looks directly through to other balconies. The bathroom frosting is not high enough to prevent neighbours from seeing me pee. I could go on. It's odd spending this kind of money and not having at least some privacy. Consider yourself warned, if getting close to neighbours doesn't bother you, this is the vila for you!
