Las instalaciones estaban muy bien, las habitaciones muy nuevas. La piscina era increíble. El personal lo mejor

The room was clean and comfortable, good aircon, fridge and kettle. Shower worked well. Nice swimming pool and swimming towels provided. The location was perfect. Just one minute walk from the beach (lovely clean beach) and a few minutes up the beach each way to bars and restaurants. Breakfast was adequate - eggs, toast, fruit, coffee.

The price quoted did not include taxes, we missed this in the small print. That means when it came time to pay we got a bad surprise. We don’t think the final price gave good value compared to other places of similar standard that we have stayed in Sri Lanka. The full price should be clearly stated. The manager was very unfriendly when we raised this. It made a very lovely stay end on a negative note. Breakfast was adequate and good enough but we have had much more interesting breakfasts in other places with options of Western and Sri Lankan dishes

I liked my porch area outside my room and had some of my meals there. Room was basic but okay, and had everything you need. It was about 5 minute walk to the beach, but wasn’t sure if there are any other shops nearby, only there 2 nights. Staff were very helpful, and the food was excellent!!

The pool is quite small, and there was a strange smell in the bathroom. There was a resident frog and gecko in bathroom but I didn’t mind happy though as it meant there were no mosquitoes with them guarding!

The room was comfortable, clean, it had lovely tiled floors that made it feel extra clean. It was quiet and only 5 mins from the beach. The staff were nice. There was a swimming pool but we did not use it. Overall experience was nice.

The breakfast was basic and the place was in need of some ambience but overall very close to the beach.

Everything was fantastic, the location being just a short walk from the beach and restaurants/ bars. It was quiet, the villas were fantastic and the pool was perfect. All of the staff were friendly, welcoming and could not do enough. The breakfast was very very good. Thank you

La plage à 4 minutes à pied est propre, il y a beaucoup de nouveaux hotels en construction autour, qui semblent de meilleure standing. Le petit déjeuner est basique, meme si le personnel est très sympathique.

Nous n'avons pas eu les chambres réservées. La description est trompeuse ( une chambre à la place d'une villa). Pas de TV. Il y avait dans la salle de bain une odeur d'égout. Petite piscine.

Ottima struttura situata a soli 5 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia di Uppuveli. La piscina è perfetta per rilassarsi e l'ambiente è sempre pulito, grazie a uno staff delle pulizie davvero gentile. Tutto il personale è estremamente disponibile per qualsiasi informazione e per il servizio lavanderia. Un gesto che abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo: l'ultimo giorno, avendo il treno la sera tardi, ci hanno messo a disposizione una camera per fare una doccia prima di partire. Rapporto qualità-prezzo buono, soprattutto considerando i prezzi medi di Uppuveli ad agosto. Consigliato

​La struttura ha del potenziale, ma ci sono diversi aspetti da migliorare, soprattutto in relazione alla tariffa richiesta: ​Colazione: Troppo limitata. Ci sono solo due scelte (pancake o omelette) che, per soggiorni di più giorni, risultano davvero monotone e ripetitive. ​Alloggio: Abbiamo soggiornato nelle ville, ma sono poco spaziose e avrebbero bisogno di manutenzione. Il bagno necessita di interventi (doccia con evidente accumulo di calcare) e spesso la stanza emanava cattivo odore. Le camere standard ("non villa") sembrano invece decisamente più nuove e ristrutturate. ​Dotazioni: Manca il frigobar in camera, un servizio che dovrebbe essere garantito per il costo a notte. ​Pagamento: Nota spiacevole al momento del check-out: ci è stata addebitata una commissione extra del 3% per il pagamento con carta di credito (giustificata con "è la banca che la applica"). È l'unica struttura e ristorante in tutto il nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka ad averlo fatto, cosa poco elegante considerato il prezzo già elevato della camera.

The pool was really nice

Got given a room we didn't book for the first night then got the one we booked the next night. Never fun moving ya stuff.

Big room, completely new. Friendly people and really good service.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good price and turnaround on laundry and very close to the beach, the air conditioning was excellent. We had a family room, which had a well stocked fridge with lion beer, coke and water. Staff were happy to restock it when required. Great location near 3 nice beach front restaurants. The pool was also very clean and inviting.

Posizione buona, a 200 metri dalla spiaggia. Camera quadrupla molto spaziosa, bella piscina. Servizio laundry disponibile in struttura.

Camere datate, molto calde, nonostante condizionatori e ventilatori presenti. La pulizia della stanza effettuata solo su richiesta.

The hotel is in a great location, a short walk from a lot of restaurants and about 100m from the beach. The room we stayed in was very new, less than 1 month old and not quite finished but very comfortable and really clean. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was included, quite basic but plenty of food served with a smile.

Por las mañanas había mucho ruido en el techo de la habitación, suponemos que eran animales aún que sonaba muy fuerte. Pero he de decir q es la única pega que podemos ponerle a este alojamiento. Por lo demás todo era fantástico.

Il proprietario risulta furbo e maleducato. La struttura è molto sporca e il clima in camera posizionato in modo terribile, o si muore di caldo o ci si prende una malora. Odori molto forti e colazione con pochissima scelta. Anche l’acqua in camera ve la fanno pagare.

Zoals op de foto's, op loopafstand van het strand met vele eettentjes, ontbijt was prima (fruit, koffie/thee, omelet of pancakes en toast).

Wij vonden de walvis/dolfijnen trip tegen vallen, bijna niets gezien, maar dat zou evt kunnen komen doordat het water wat onrustig was.

The hotel is centrally located near a main road but entry is via a small lane. The hotel staff is very friendly, accommodating and always helpful. The pool is small but very clean and maintained and many guests took full advantage of it. The breakfast was simple but good. A 6-7 minute walk in the lane in the opposite direction from the main road leads to the beach. Upon entering the beach you walk by a very good restaurant that has a variety of food that is reasonably priced. The restaurant also provides free of charge lounge chairs and umbrellas and food service right to your chair.

I don't have a single complaint of the So-J hotel

Supergoede locatie dichtbij het strand en diverse restaurantjes. Ontbijt is fruit met koffie en thee en naar keuze pancakes of een omelet met toast, prima. Lekker om vanaf het strand nog even naar het zwembad te gaan.

Het is vrij basic, niet luxe, maar gezien locatie absoluut goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

This hotel can be highly recommended. Manager Rraju and his staff did everything they could to ensure that we had a great holiday. They were so kind to ensure that we had the best possible experience, whether it was cleaning, breakfast or service. They arranged activities such as sight-seeing, dolphin safari and snorkeling at Pigion Island. All the staff were incredibly nice. With the strong recommendations from director Helle Baadsvik

Het is een huis met boven kamers en dan losse villa’s in de tuin. Kamers zijn ruim en schoon (wij zaten boven, niet in een huisje in de tuin, we dachten dat er zo’n huisje geboekt hadden. Weet ook niet wat beter was geweest). De lokatie is perfect op loopafstand van het strand. Personeel heel aardig en behulpzaam.

Zwembad is prima, maar heb je eigenlijk niet nodig zo vlak aan zee, dus je zou ook kunnen besparen en ergens zonder zwembad kunnen boeken.

The breakfast was really poor, they didn't offer juices, which you have to pay for, and not even water. The restaurant hall is old-fashioned and sad, it needs to be modernized

Fijn dat er een zwembad was. Niet heel groot, maar wel lekker. Dichtbij het bruisende gedeelte. Fijne bedden. Personeel is heel behulpzaam.

De omgeving is erg rommelig. Wordt gebouwd, veel afval etc in de straatjes er omheen. Niet op de locatie zelf trouwens. Ontbijt heel basic. Klamboes te klein voor de eenpersoonsbedden.

So-J Beach Villa is a very friendly and cosy small resort. Within 3 minutes you are on the beach. Staff is very friendly and can help you with booking tours and scooters. The pool is nice and clean, just like the whole garden. Wifi is good.

We had a family room. That was ok, but with bigger children this can be a bit small. You better book than two double rooms.

Fijn verblijf met lekker zwembad. We hadden een huisje en een kamer boven. Huisje is wat ouder, maar wel wat gezelliger gelegen. Bed in het huisje echt goed, in de kamer boven wat hard. Ontbijt prima met pannenkoekjes. Locatie is heel goed, want je bent zo bij het, prima, strand. Excursies en huren van tuk tuk of scooters is snel geregeld. Prima plek dus als je een plek dicht bij het strand en met zwembad zoekt. Ook genoeg leuke restaurantjes in de buurt en op het strand.

De locatie is top! De kamer was helemaal in orde, goede grootte, airco werkte heel erg goed, douche was goed, bedden waren goed.

Wanneer we onze was wouden laten doen zei één van de medewerkers dat het 1.000 LKR per kg was en onze was zou 8kg wegen voor 2 linnen zakjes. Dit betekende dat we 8.000 LKR (zo een €20) voor de was moest betalen. We hebben ervoor gekozen om dit niet te doen en in het stadje een ander alternatief te zoeken. Toen kwamen we uit bij een Kani Laundry, de prijs die zij hanteerde (en de gebruikelijke in de straten) was 500 LKR per kg, en het strafste, onze was woog plots van 3,8kg…. Daarnaast werkte de sloten met een soort elektronische kaart om te scannen, maar dit werkte nooit van de eerste keer. Hierdoor moesten we elke keer als we binnen in onze kamer wouden telkens 5min lang proberen en wachten.. In de frigo op de kamer stond er water, cola en bier. In tegenstelling tot veel verblijven waar water gratis was, bleek dit hier plots ook betalend te zijn. Zelfs als je water vraagt bij het ontbijt in plaats van koffie of thee is het extra te betalen.

Very nice staff, fine rooms and good pool very close to the beach

I didn’t get what I had reserved from home, was promised a discount but didn’t get it.

Fantastic location, close to beach and great beach restaurants. We had an early morning snorkel tour, where they made a nice breakfast-to-go.

The food was good, but no water/juice included for the breakfast. It was the only hotel we visited in Sri Lanka where they charged for water bottles in the room.

La amabilidad del personal es destacable. Siempre dispuestos a ayudar y te facilitan lo que les pidas, por ejemplo más champú. La ubicación es excelente, junto a la playa. El desayuno es correcto. Tiene una piscina muy agradable que se agradece después de la playa.

Creo que hay que mejorar las instalaciones, la villa que nos tocó está bien pero falta mantenimiento. Creo que el precio es excesivo. No te hacen la limpieza de la habitación diariamente. Es como si alquilaras un apartamento. Hay una nevera en cada habitación con agua y refrescos pero todo es de pago. En otros hoteles las botellas de agua no te las cobran pero aquí sí.

Friendly people, good location. Only a few minutes to the beach, you can walk to Fernando's beach market in 5 minutes, close (by foot) to the Beach Road with all restaurants and shops. Nice and clean pool. Swim towels from the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean, we had airconditioning and a fan. Snorkeling and dolphin watch tour arranged by the hotel for better price than other companies.

The place is good but pricy compared to other hotels in touristic places throughout Sri Lanka (of course we don't know other hotels in Trincomalee). For this price we expected the room to be cleaned every two days (without asking) to get rid of the sands. And also breakfast felt a bit small. However, the people are very nice!

El hotel esta fenomenal, a 5 minutos de la playa y a 10 minutos de la calle principal donde hay gran variedad de buenos restaurantes. Instalaciones amplias, limpias y bien cuidadas, la piscina esta genial. El personal ha sido agradable y atento. Hemos estado muy a gusto y lo recomendamos

Lo unico que no nos ha gustado, ha sido el servicio de lavanderia, porque nos han entregado la ropa sin planchar y totalmente arrugada, cuando en los demás sitios que hemos estado en el pais, nos la daban siempre planchada.

De locatie, op loopafstand naar het strand is een pluspunt. Fijn dat er een zwembad is en je ook aparte handdoeken krijgt voor bij het zwembad. De kinderen werden verwend met heerlijke pannenkoeken bij het ontbijt. Voor het ontbijt kan ik de avocado toast aanraden. Dit kost alleen wel extra.

Ontbijt was inclusief, echter hoorde het restaurant niet bij het hotel. Alles extra uit het restaurant moest je direct afrekenen. Vandaar dat we ook extra moesten betalen voor de avocado toast. De man van het restaurant was wel heel vriendelijk!

Wonderful friendly hosts, lovely fruit and pancakes for breakfast. We paid for washing to be done and that was great thanks. The towels at the hotel are lovely and fluffy and white and exceed some of the bigger hotel chains we stayed at! Quiet place - lovely little pool. Clean room. Basic but friendly and only 2 mins walk to beautify beach and choice of 3 places immediately to dine which was great.

My only gripe is that the bathroom could have been MUCH cleaner around the taps etc. and also the wired netting keeping mosquitoes out in the bathroom were both broken with big holes, and I don’t think it would be much to put a tiny bit more up and even double it up to keep the bugs away. But otherwise a great stay and would stay again.

Instalaciones un poco anticuadas, y no muy limpias. Encontramos cucarachas en el baño. Después echaron químicos contra las cucarachas La piscina sucia bloquearon el baño el día anterior a irnos para echar productos pues se estaba poniendo verde.

Todo fue perfecto. El personal, las instalaciones limpias, la piscina, el desayuno....

El alojamiento tiene unas cabañas muy chulas con muy buenas instalaciones y una piscina espectacular que se agradece mucho al volver de la playa o estar un rato tranquilo. La ubicación es muy buena, estás a 1 minuto andando de la playa y de los principales restaurantes. El desayuno y las personas del hotel son magníficos!

Lovely stay at So-J Beach Villa in Uppuveli. The staff was always kind, courteous, and very attentive to our needs. They generously allowed us a late check-out, which made our last morning much more relaxed before continuing our trip. Breakfast was excellent — fresh, generous, and well prepared every morning. The villa itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with cozy rooms and everything in good order. Great location in Uppuveli, perfect for exploring Trincomalee, relaxing on the nearby beach, and heading out to Pigeon Island for snorkeling. Highly recommended for travelers looking for a well-run beachfront stay with genuinely warm hospitality. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

La proximité avec la plage La piscine

Les chambre n’était pas très propre La Clim était extrêmement bruyante Très peu d’accessoires (pas de serviette pour s’essuyer les mains, une seule poubelle, ..)

The location was great, a few mins from the centre and the beach. The bed was good. Aparte wc. Redelijk grote kamer. Nice garden and bungalows. Good breakfast and lovely people.

Everything was a bit outdated. The water came out of the shower head on all sides and everything just felt a bit old. The room was fine, but I would have expected the price to be a bit lower.

Hôtel très bien situé à 2 minutes à pied de la plage d’un côté et de la rue principale de l’autre. On trouve très facilement de quoi se restaurer et des supermarchés. La plage est propre et tres agréable, et encore peu fréquentée à notre période ce qui est très appréciable. Le personnel est sympathique et serviable et peut organiser des activités à tarifs corrects. Notre villa climatisée était bien aménagée et pratique.

Les alentours peuvent être un peu bruyants (nous étions en période de nouvel an et beaucoup de fêtes locales) mais jamais de bruit la nuit.

Accueil très sympathique. Le logement est au top et très confortable. L’hôtel est à deux pas de la mer. Le personnel est au petit soins. Sans oublier un petit déjeuner très copieux et délicieux. Nous avons passé un super séjour. Merci à toute l’équipe.❤️

Des villas spacieuses, propres, bien décorées et super bien entretenues dans un jardin très agréable. Un personnel aux petits soins et très sympathiques. Des petits déjeuners copieux qui changent tous les jours. Le patron qui parle français. Le wifi au top ! Une piscine pour les heures chaudes ! Proche de la plage et de la rue des restaurants. La ville de Trinco est accessible en quelques minutes de Tuktuk. On devait rester une nuit, nous sommes restés 3 nuits !

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good quality and generous servings. Bed was comfortable. Nearby beach was great for swimming and there are multiple dining options close by.

Rooms would present better if they were refurbished. Perhaps tiling, painting or panelling. Stayed here on two separate occasions. First villa had working AC and hot water, second villa had neither. The accommodation here is not trying to be 5 star. It's reasonably priced and is conveniently located.

Onwijs fijne schone en leuke plek om te verblijven. Je slaapt in een klein maar ruim huisje. Super vriendelijke host. Beste douche ever, veel warm water! Op 5 minuten lopen van het gezellige straatje en 2 minuten van het strand.

Er werd naast de accommodatie gebouwd.

Obiekt zarządach dodatkowej opłaty w postaci prowizji dla pośrednika - 50 dolarow. Lokalizacja na mapie jest źle oznaczona- w rzeczywistości nie znajduje się przy plaży. Domki sa strasznie ciemne. Widok jest z jednej na mur, a z drugiej powiedzmy na basen, ale okna sa strasznie brudne. Finalnie bylosmyvw obiekcie kilka minut i musieliśmy szukać innego hotelu, bo noe zgodziliśmy sie na dopłatę. Odradzam

We had a great stay at So-J. The staff were really helpful and the location of the hotel was perfect. We were 2mins walk down to the beach which is where all the bars and restaurants were and then about 5mins down the main road from more restaurants and bars. The breakfast each morning was great the pool was ideal.

We were here in the quiet season so there weren't many people around, which you could tell when we first checked into our room. Our room itself could have been a bit cleaner as there was a lot of cobwebs around and we did have to request some new sheets for one of the bed, which the staff helped with straight away. Once that was sorted everything else was great

Super séjour dans cet hôtel! L’accueil par SoJ et toute son équipe a été excellent. Le responsable parle entre autre français au besoin et est vraiment adorable. La chambre qu’on a loué était dans une petite villa individuelle. Parfaitement équipée: 1 lit double + 2 lits simples, Climatisation, ventilateurs, moustiquaire, salle de bain, toilette séparée, télévision, bouilloire…Le jardin est magnifique. La piscine parfaite! Le petit déjeuner excellent. Et l’hôtel nous facilite les réservations des différentes activités à de très bon prix. La mer est à 200m à pied. Accessible super rapidement par un petit chemin éclairé la nuit. Plein de bar/ restaurants sur la plage. Des transats et parasols à disposition dans certains pour passer de bons moments à la plage. Un séjour de 3 jours vraiment excellent. Le rapport qualité prix est vraiment top. Encore merci à toute l’équipe ! Je vous le recommande 😉

Vriendelijke mensen, nette kamer, extra badlakens, fijn zwembad

Stort rymligt rum, mycket bekvämt eftersom vi bodde där i 10 nätter. Fin nybyggd pool och bra läge med ett par minuters promenad till stranden. När till alltid Uppuveli, samtidigt som det ligger så pass avskiljt att man inte störs av ljud från barer och restauranger. Väldigt vänlig personal som var lyhörd inför våra behov eftersom vi reste med ett litet barn.

En liten petitess som inte påverkade vår upplevelse: rummet kunde ha varit lite mer välstädat. Det var damm och spindelnät i fönster och på hyllor. Ingen stor sak. Vi bad om att få ett kylskåp på rummet, vilket vi fick (det är vi mycket nöjda med). Men i övrigt hade rummen ingen kyl och jag tror hotellet skulle vinna på att sätta in en kyl i varje rum. Lite mer valfrihet i frukosten hade varit trevlig. Vi var mycket nöjda de dagar vi fick ägg eller omelett. Men de dagar vi endast fick pannkakor till frukost var vi inte lika nöjda, eftersom vi inte är vana att äta sötsaker till frukost. Ottima posizione a due passi dalla spiaggia con i bar e ristorantini, dive si possono anche trovare ombrellone e lettini gratis, accoglienza dello staff buona, molto gentili e disponibili, buona e curata e varia la colazione, ho apprezzato che ogni mattina propongono il piatto caldo con le uova in maniera diversa, sempre buona, ottime le crepes arrotolate, e piattone con tanta frutta oltre a pane tostato con burro bello morbido e marmellata buona, bella la piscina, giardini carini e curati.Gradito il bollitore in camera.

La camera era al limite del passabile, credo ci abbiano dato una camera sul retro delle cucine ancora in allestimento, spero le casette siano meglio, pero' il livello di pulizia e' troppo basso, il bagno non era pulito, il mobiletto del lavandino all' interno era inguardabile, un dito di polvere sull' attacco dell phono e dietro il wc, una ramazza presente in doccia per asciugarti l' acqua, sarebbe meglio mettere almeno una tenda, lenzuola macchiate, logore e troppo piccole, coprivano solo 2/3 del letto, in 4 giorni non sono mai venuti a rifare la camera e il bagno.Peccato perche' migliorando questi punti la struttura ha del potenziale, spero serva come consiglio.
