Die Bilder entsprechen nicht im aktuellen Zustand. Das Hotel ist eine einzige Baustelle. Es wird ein weiterer Stock aufgebaut, welcher nicht auf dem Bildern zu sehen ist. Überall bröckelt der Putz ab und man macht Urlaub auf der Baustelle.

Die Lage in Strandnähe war sehr gut. Auch der Pool war super und sehr groß.

Die Baustelle auf dem Dach und für den Preis hätten wir mehr erwartet.

L'hôtel est en travaux. Etage supplémentaire au dessus des chambres actuelles. La piscine ne donne pas envie et il y a 2 transats cassés. L'annonce est mensongère et le prix exorbitant. Nous avons été dans un hotel a côté qui était très confortable et agréable pour 2 fois moins cher. A fuir.

The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Location was fantastic, very close to the beach, restaurants and markets. The swimming pool was a nice change to cool down from a day at the beach.

Could use a fridge in the room so not having to bother staff about keeping things cold. Also the wifi could be better.

Close proximity to the beach and the pool. Hearty breakfast.

The hotel is pretty basic for the price. We were put in a small room, away from our daughters on the first night which was pretty grotty - cobwebs, no side lights, no TV just a broken fixture, tea bags but no kettle. We were moved the next night to a larger room and the price was reduced when asked. The pool is great but the site lacks maintenance e.g. the pool tiles are cracked (my daughter cut both her foot and her hand), the grass is long and littered and there is a general feeling of tiredness.

Excellent location very close to a fantastic beach.

The hotel is very tired and desperately needs some TLC. Having said that, it’s so close to a great beach, you don’t need to stay in the hotel that much, so what’s not to like!

Good location. Short walk to the beach and to restaurants and bars. Nice big room. Big swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. Ate breakfast here which was good. Very clean. Clothes dryer stand to hang out wet towels and swim suits outside each room which was handy.

We had a few things not working in the room such us lights or the toilet sit wasn't fixed properly. Also the swimming pool water wasn't really clean.

Vi blev mødt med et stort smil. Manageren tog godt imod os sammen med sit personale. Morgenmaden var god og lidt som man kunne forvente. De var venlig og hjælpsomme både med hvalsafari og bestilling af tuk tuk. Udendørs arealet og poolen er i top.

Proximité avec la mer

Une expérience très décevante, sans doute l’une des pires que nous ayons vécues lors de nos voyages en Asie. Dès notre arrivée, le responsable nous a annoncé qu’il s’était trompé dans la réservation et qu’aucune chambre n’était disponible pour nous la première nuit. Nous avons donc été envoyés dans un hôtel, avec une chambre minuscule et sans eau chaude. Un rabais nous a finalement été accordé, à ma demande. Le petit-déjeuner est très limité : quelques toasts, un œuf, et il faut choisir entre un jus d’orange et des fruits, sans pouvoir avoir les deux. Le service est extrêmement lent. Plus généralement, le personnel est peu souriant, peu réactif, tout le temps le téléphone à la main. Ce qui nous a le plus choqué durant notre séjour ces que certains membres du personnels se baignaient dans la piscine pendant que les clients l’utilisaient, tandis qu’un autre s’était installé devant une chambre en diffusant de la musique très forte depuis son téléphone !!! J'ai jamais vu ça ! La piscine est divisée en trois parties, mais l’espace jacuzzi était hors service et contenait un fond d’eau stagnante, dans un état franchement insalubre. Autour de la piscine, il n’y avait que cinq chaises longues et deux matelas, tous très usés et abîmés. L'hôtel est globalement mal entretenu. La porte de notre salle de bain était cassée et maintenue par un crochet. La climatisation est bruyante et fonctionne mal. Les chambres sont sombres et trop petite pour trois (quatre) personnes et ne permettait pas de poser correctement les bagages. Le wifi ne passe absolument pas dans les chambres. Un deuxième étage est actuellement en construction, avec bâches, échafaudages et parties inachevées, ce qui renforce encore l’impression générale de négligence.

Bra läge med några hundra meter till stranden! Gott mottagande av managern som var mycket mån om att vi skulle trivas. Fin och välskött pool.

I vår bokning ingick frukost och lunch eller middag. Det fanns utvecklingsmöjligheter gällande restaurangen. Trånga rum om man är tre vuxna personer med packning. Managern lyssnade in vår feedback och var mycket tillmötesgående!

Bardzo dobre usytuowanie hotelu w pobliżu plaży oraz rozlicznych barów i restauracji. Basen hotelowy co jest rzadkością na Sri Lance. Co prawda jest to jeden nieduży basen podzielony na 3 części, a nie 3 baseny jak to jest opisane na Booking.com . Przyjazna i gotowa do niesienia pomocy obsługa.

Codziennie to samo ubogie śniadanie przez 10 dni.

Recommend to stay here! Stayed here for five nights to recover from food poisoning i got at another place while backpacking. The staff was REALLY helpful and friendly, and even arranged a visit to the hospital when i got worse. The food you can order is really good and fresh, and you can eat it in your room. Nice pool also, and very good AC in room!

We stayed at MRD Hotel for a few nights and overall had a good experience. The location is convenient, about a 5-minute walk to the beach, with several restaurants nearby. We enjoyed dining at Thaya Sea Food Restaurant, which was within walking distance, and there are shops and services close by as well. The staff at the front desk and throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Our bags were carried to our room upon arrival, which was appreciated after a long day of travel. Our room was clean and comfortable, although it was a bit tight for four adults. The beds were comfortable and the room served its purpose well as a base for exploring the area. Breakfast was included and consisted of fresh fruit, coffee, an omelet sandwich, and bottled water. Everything was fresh and enjoyable. There was some confusion regarding what was included in our booking, as our reservation mentioned all-inclusive but breakfast was the only meal provided. Communication was occasionally challenging, but the staff always tried their best to assist. The Wi-Fi worked, although we did not receive the access codes until the following day, and there were separate networks for the restaurant and guest rooms. The room network was sometimes difficult to connect to. A few small details could be improved. Our room initially had only two towels despite four guests being registered, and additional supplies such as toilet paper required follow-up requests. However, these were minor issues and did not significantly affect our stay. We also found local services to be convenient, including laundry service charged by weight, which was completed efficiently. Overall, MRD Hotel offers good value in a great location with kind staff and easy access to the beach and nearby restaurants. While there were a few communication and housekeeping details that could be improved, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

Très bon accueil avec des petits jus. Grande piscine + bon petit déjeuner. A 2 minutes à pieds de la plage, l’emplacement est idéal. De nombreux restaurants sont disponibles sur la plage (un peu cher) ou à quelques minutes dans la ville ainsi que plusieurs clubs de plongée, palmes masques et tubas pour l’île peignon island etc.

Mooi zwembad. Heel behulpzaam personeel, het voelde als familie. Goede locatie op 1 minuut van het strand. Heerlijk gegeten, de chef is top.

Eigenlijk zijn we heel tevreden. Als we iets moeten noemen, dan ik het de kamer. De kamer was niet heel schoon. De bedden wel, maar de rest niet echt. Maar dat vonden we niet heel erg.

Es gibt hier alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Wenn man morgens vor dem Zimmer seinen ersten Kaffee trinkt und dem Vogelkonzert lauscht, kann man manchmal auch Affen beobachten, die in den Bäumen übernachtet haben. Es war unser zweites Mal im MRD, wir hatten unsere Enkelkinder (8 und 10) dabei. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, das Personal super höflich und freundlich. Man fühlt sich willkommen. Besonders hilfreich war die Unterstützung zur Planung von Ausflügen mit dem hoteleigenen Van. So konnten wir mit den Kindern viel erleben. In den Zeiten zwischen Abenteuern war der große Pool eine wilkommene Abwechslung. Sehr gut ist auch, dass der Strand nur 150m entfernt ist und in der Umgebung viele kleine Lokale und ein kleiner Supermarkt sind. Wir haben uns rundum wohl und sicher gefühlt. Für die Verschönerung wird derzeit einiges getan. Wir wünschen dem Management gutes Gelingen und freuen uns schon auf 2027.

We had to pay by cash even though the Terms and Conditions state that you can pay by card here. That was very annoying. The bed is very unconfortable and makes sounds on every move. The room was poorly soundproofed. Check-out times varied online versus on site.

Good location between the beach and the road. 2 minutes to the beach. The owner and staff are very attentive. The hotel owner helped us with our affairs. He warned us about the holiday when the shops were closed. They cooked what we asked for breakfast. They asked if the room needed cleaning. The attitude towards guests is wonderful. We stayed at this hotel for a few more days.

Unfortunately, there was construction going on there. The noise didn't bother me, but walking to the beach past the construction site was not very pleasant.

The swimming was best part of hotel. The staff were very friendly. Brilliant a/c in room.

On arrival due to there being a wedding taking up the whole area and around the swimming pool so couldn't use it first day till 5pm we were quickly rushed to our room we were dumped in our room nothing said and staff were gone. The room straight away smelt moldy the wall colour mad you feel even worse went into the bath room turned on the light and it was blue (probably so tou couldn't see the dirty state it was in). Showered then had a bang on the door and was told manager wants you in the office. He wanted to do the welcoming then around 2/3 hours after my arrival. Went out came back and television wasn't working told they would fix next day and give me some refund but both didn't happen next day got told we could swap room but what's the point it will be same mess in the next room. Also the private beach is not private its shated with about 15/20 other hotels in that area also there are locals on the beach and it is very littered.

We zouden 1 nacht hier verblijven. Maar voor aankomst kregen we problemen met onze tuk tuk. Gelukkig het hotel gehaald en bij aankomst heeft de manager gelijk een monteur laten komen. Extra nacht met korting bijgeboekt omdat de tuk tuk even goed moest worden nagekeken. Personeel reed mee naar de garage. Echt top service!! Het hotel heeft heerlijke luxe kamers die echt schoon zijn. Een mooi zwembad en het strand is nog geen 100 meter lopen. We hebben gelijk onze was kunnen laten wassen. Echt een aanrader voor een aantal dagen!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich und mit einem Cocktail vom Personal empfangen . Das Frühstück war etwas besonderes , da wir bei den Vorbereitungen zum Pongalfest zuschauen konnten .

Dafür, dass wir die ersten Gäste waren in diesem Jahr , hätten die Zimmer besser gecheckt und gereinigt sein gekonnt. Auf dem Bettzeug waren Flecken und es gab reichlich Spinnweben.

Die Lage (Nähe zum Strand) hat mir gut gefallen. Der Pool war sauber und angenehm. Pool-Handtücher gab es auch. Es konnte direkt vor Ort eine Bootstour organisiert werden und auch bei der Shuttle Buchung wurde geholfen.

Das Frühstück war okay, aber nicht außergewöhnlich.

- Das Hotel befindet sich in sehr kurzer Distanz zum Strand, der Pool mit verschieden tiefen Becken lud jedoch auch zum Baden ein - abgerundet mit gemütlichen Seseln und einem Tischchen vor jedem Zimmer + Strandtuch absolut ideal! - Der Manager war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns sogar einen kostenlosen Wäscheservice angeboten - Das Licht im Bad konnte durch mehrmaliges Betätigen des Lichtschalters in verschiedene Farben eingestellt werden - Das Zimmer war sehr sauber

- In unserem Zimmer hatten wir leider keinen W-Lan Empfang - Morgens wurde bereits recht laute Musik gespielt, was uns oft aus dem Schlaf gerissen hat

Het zwembad bij de accomodatie was heerlijk en de ligging tov het strand perfect. De bedden en douche waren goed. Het ontbijt was prima.

De kamer is zeer verouderd. De ruimte waar het ontbijt is, ziet er zeer ongezellig/verouderd uit. Accomodatie heeft opknapbeurt nodig.

Habitación amplia, desayuno bueno. Cama cómoda. Baño europeo!. Te ayudan con las maletas. La habitación tiene un pequeño hall con sillas y mesas al lado de la piscina.

Te cobran 3% por pagar con tarjeta. Piscina podría estar mejor cuidada.

Mala relación calidad precio. El lugar está muy descuidado tanto por rotura de los instalación como por falta de limpieza.

El trato fue excelente, la piscina genial y está a un minuto andando de la playa. Nos hicieron la colada sin ningún coste. Gente encantadora.

Nous avions réservé 2 chambres (3 nuits) : l'une pour nos 3 enfants (adolescents) et l'autres pour nous, parents. Les chambres et leur salle de bain privative sont bien agencées et très confortables. Le mobilier est de qualité (bois exotique). La propreté est irréprochable. Très agréable piscine devant les chambres et serviettes de bain fournies. Ambiance calme et baignade non autorisée après 22h. Devant chaque chambre : chaises, petite table et étendoir à linge privatifs très appréciables, et toujours en bois. Très bon petit déjeuner : "English breakfast" pour nous, mais un petit déjeuner d'inspiration plus locale est également proposé. Cadre agréable avec tables et chaises en bois dans grande pièce à grandes baies vitrées, parfaitement climatisée. Le personnel est souriant, discret et très aimable. Le patron de l'hôtel est toujours disponible et parle très bien l'anglais. Il nous a organisé une sortie en bateau afin de rencontrer les dauphins et nager parmi poissons, tortue... (matériel prêté), mémorable! L'accès à la plage est très simple (4 minutes à pieds). C'est une plage de sable blanc avec de nombreux transats sous parasol, nombreux restaurants, centres de plongée...

Le linge que nous avons fait nettoyer sur place présentait encore des traces de terre. Par ailleurs, un des deux sacs de linge rendu n'était pas à nous mais l'erreur a été vite corrigée.

The staff are amazing and go the extra mile. The very relaxed atmosphere and the super swimming pool. The bed was very comfortable for my back. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Only a 2-minute walk to a wonderful beach with full use of beach chairs, umbrellas, and restaurants. Great value for a beach holiday.

Die Zimmer sind dunkel und dreckig. Wir haben uns auf die guten Bewertungen verlassen und wurden leider sehr enttäuscht. Ein sehr schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis leider. Der Pool war uns zu trüb zum schwimmen, dabei ist der noch das beste an dem Hotel. Die Wände waren total schmutzig, Flecken bis unter die Decke. Das Bad wurde definitiv nicht richtig geputzt bevor wir kamen. Die Zahnpastareste der Vorgänger war noch im Zahnputz-Glas. Der Abfluss roch unangenehm. Die Handtücher waren zerschlissen und hatten teilweise Flecken. Im Bad wurde die Decke mit Klebeband gehalten.

We found that Trinco was quite busy so there was not much choice left… the hotel is in a good location and the pool is nice.

Rooms average with basic bathrooms and very noisy air conditioning. Staff pleasant but sometimes strange things happened like they kept taking or drying rack to give to other rooms! Hello we are still in our room… Ok if nothing else available in the price range but expensive for what the rooms are like.

The Hotel did not look like the pictures which was a bit disconcerting just on arrival. We are so glad we stayed! We had really good sleeps, the place was incredibly clean, and the staff with a friendliest we had on our whole trip. They always went out of their way to say hello and to ask if we needed help with anything. And then there were a breakfast, lots of food, plenty of extra helpings and a really nice room to enjoy it in.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Even arranged laundry for free!. Awesome pool which is clean and large. Outdoor shower was lovely instead of stuffy bathroom. Proximity to beach only a couple of minutes walk. Beach is astounding!. Highly recommended as a budget friendly hotel.

Was disappointed as restaurant wasn't open during the day. Even if there was just a vending machine to get a drink during the day we may have stayed on the premises to use the pool more.

The property was clean and comfortable. We all loved the pool which was directly outside our room which was very convenient. But more than anything, the staff there were exceptionally friendly. We had breakfast there and we felt like it was a family treating us for a meal. They went out of their way to give us whatever we asked for. We were hoping to come back and stay at the same place but our trip got cut short. I will definitely come back to this same place anytime we visit Trinco.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They went out of their way to help and accommodate us in many ways. The location was a short walk to the seaside. The breakfast we had was delicious. Overall, it was a delightful experience and worth the price we paid. If flights were cheaper we'd be here every year.

It was ok. Everything was passable. Good hotel if you are on a budget. They gave us pool/beach towels.

When we arrived the sheets were ripped but they did change it to new ones. Also the TV didn't work.

This is one of several small hotels along a track leading to the beach - however this would always be my choice due to the staff, the pool and the breakfast. The staff work so hard - long days but are always freindly - big shout out to Diso who was at the pool by 7am cleaning diligently and thanks to the manager who always showed our kids kindness at breakfast.

Payment in cash on arrival so please come prepared otherwise it will be a trio to the ATM.

Room was nice and clean, comfortable beds, fan and airconditioning, service and hospitality is good. They helped with arrangements to go to the Girihandu Seya temple and they know good drivers to bring you to your next location. If you ask for a vault/ safe, they bring you one. Pool was clean, the water of the pool was hot in the afternoon because of the heating sun but it is nice to cool off at the beach nearby.

MRD is a charming oasis away from the main road and only a five minute walk along a footpath to the beautiful beach where there is a choice of restaurants and bars. Our room was clean, well fitted out with a great shower and two huge double beds. Outside was a seating area overlooking the large swimming pool which had a separate shallow children’s area. The staff were all polite and helpful and the Sri Lankan breakfast was plentiful and delicious. You may even have to explain why you couldn’t eat it all! We had a great stay and would come here again. Just one small tip, the hotel only accepts cash and likes to be paid on arrival.

It was 2 star Motel, not 4 star Hotel. The rooms well painted in dark blue many years ago and now looks old and not clean. It was very dark inside and there was no place to open the baggage. The only good things to say are good localisation near the beach and good breakfast. Nothing more. Better to find nicer hotel.

We came at 2 pm, as hotel was overbooked, we got „deluxe” room only left with a view as you see on the photos. The manager said that he had no other room left. After not nice discussion he lower the price and moved us to a little better room next day. Overbooking is their method of lowering the risk of cancellation.not good idea.

Great location in Uppuvelli, a couple mins walk to the beach, many restaurants and also to the shops on the main road. The room was comfortable and very clean. We stayed 4 nights and it was cleaned during our stay, which was great to get rid of sand! The pool was fantastic, really big and clean and the pool towels provided were lovely and soft. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was large and well cooked

Breakfast- more variety would have been nice, so a bit different each day. It was the most expensive stay in SL of our 21 day trip; however the pool was so great that we would stay again.

We received a message one hour before our arrival at the end of the afternoon that the hotel was overbooked. At arrival we got a room at a crappy nextdoor hotel with only a small discount. The room was smelly, the towels dirty and the bed linnen not clean and broken.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, delicious breakfast, fabulous swimming pool, very close to the ocean with private beach, agreeable and correctly priced dolphin watching and snorkeling trip, possibility to pay with bank transfer. We felt 100% relaxed and would love to return any day!
