I was really disappointed with the hostel. The $100 rate felt like a scam, and it reminded me of the Apple Tree Motel and the hostel, which had the same manager/owner. I checked in at 9:30 p.m. and arrived at the hostel to find no power. One person mentioned that the power went out and back on constantly. I tried to reach reception, but no one answered, and reception was closed. No one seemed to know what was causing the problem. Since there was no power, I couldn’t have a hot shower (after a long hike, I didn’t have any cooking supplies or food, so I went to sleep without a shower or food). In the morning, the power was still out (I learned in BC that power outages can last almost 24 hours). I finally spoke with the receptionist, and he told me it was a power outage. I asked why he hadn’t mentioned it during check-in, as I had paid for the service. I contacted Booking for a refund. After two days, the hostel sent me a message on Booking saying they would send a refund, but it never arrived. I contacted the hostel again, and they started complaining. Booking asked for a refund, but they never sent me a refund. Instead, Booking only sent me a small amount for the inconvenience. Don’t trust the receptionist. The hostel had many pot or pan for cooking 2 only🤣 and small beds, and my car was much bigger for sleeping.
A nice hostel in Radium Hot springs

I felt Comfortable and safe
I left my grey pouch with 2 pieces of ID
It’s easy and fast to go to places we like and very affordable
Very clean and up to date which was nice
No hot water in the showers

The worst hostel stay I’ve ever had in my life. Check in process felt very uncomfortable with an unidentified person lingering looking over our shoulder as we were passing over personal details and our code to enter the hostel during the check in process. Layout is very strange and offers minimal privacy as there is no doors seperating bedroom, lounge, bathrooms and kitchen. Bathroom setup would be horrific had the hostel been even half full (only 2 toilets each for M and F). Extremely squishy in the washrooms even though only 4 people were in the hostel. Showers take about 10 minutes to warm up to even a lukewarm temperature - on top of that there is no privacy in the showers. During our stay there was an exceptionally loud guest taking phone calls in the middle of the night and singing +++loudly. Quiet hours are not obeyed to or monitored by staff. Hardly anything provided in the kitchen and the minimal utensils provided are disgustingly dirty or absolutely hopeless. Can only use one power point in the kitchen at a time. We only found this out because we tried to use the kettle and a pot at the same time - nobody told us this even though it is apparently a known problem. The power blew while we were there and it took staff about 45 minutes to come. By the time they had it was 10pm and we were far too tired for dinner. When we opened up our sheets to make our bed, it was filled with hairs and stains. Stunk of alcohol when we walked in. Would not stay here again and would urge particularly solo female travellers to stay far far away.
It was a good location.
It was dirty beside mattress, dusty on the ladder and the handle on the ceiling. The entrance door didn't lock automatically. So the door was always opened unless I locked it. The female washroom has no lock and shower room is only separated by curtain. Sinse It is for both genders, It is concering.
Great rate, clean. Best location
Nothing
Comfortable and clean bunk beds with more privacy. The frontdesk is super friendly and helpful !
Some kitchenettes don't work, not a big issue.
Well situated in Radium on the main road close to restaurants and groceries. 3 buildings but very confusing connection to Apple Tree Inn. Clean common areas and kitchen with minor appliances but no stove (hot plate & microwave instead), coffee pot etc. All kitchen ware is here. Fridge and 2 freezers as well. There’s Internet and TV, clean bathrooms and you get a towel. Capsules are a little cramped but private.
We didn’t even get to stay the night there. The sheets where had blood on them with hair.
The owner lied to us he said he would refund us and he never did.
Big locker
VERY cramped sleeping bunk (claustrophobic), front desk staff indifference, outside decks dilapidated and neglected (very possibly dangerously so), dirty windows throughout the hostel, dirty towels left in showers, messy bathroom basins, kitchen was tidy but not very clean, noisy guests who ignored quiet-time rules, ripped bed linen, unclean bunks, malfunctioning kitchen appliances, inadequate air con, lots of passing traffic noise, inadequate security (other guest reported catching a homeless person in the hostel). And be ready for an unsolicited 5-minute non-stop lecture from the housekeeper on the state of the world as he sees it. If he sees a captive audience...
Great location, walkable to town and the hot springs. Big horn sheep graze around the streets at dusk. The bunks were new and everything very clean.
The design is cute but not functional. Storage lockers on the ground floor are tall and very narrow; even my backpack wouldn't fit. On check in they explain how to unlock the front door but not how to lock it (turn the bolt inside, press and hold # outside), so the front door was often unlocked and anyone could come in off the street day or night. The upstairs is all one long room with no doors - kitchen, common area with bathrooms, bunks. Luckily there were not many people when I was there so it wasn't too noisy. The bottom bunks/cabins lock from the inside and have a light, shelf, electric outlet, and hook. The upstairs bunks have a curtain rod hanging over the bed - nothing else, and no place to store anything except on the bed. The kitchen is sparse (only 5 bowls) and the appliances will short circuit if more than 2 are used at once, so you can't cook much.
I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility.
Cabine spacieuse , cuisine spacieuse et bien équipée
Accessibility
Unable to sleep. Ear plugs for sleeping should be offered at check-in. Too many people to keep happy. Too hot, people shut off AC unit at night, no air flow, open doors but people close them, top bunks are not for older people, difficult to get up and down. Person under me slept with light on which shines up into the top bunk. Not a terrible place, shouldn’t spend more than 2 nights.
It had all the necessary, albeit very basic, amenities at a fraction of the cost!
As with any hostel experience, there will always be some unwanted (unappreciated) noise.
Tolle Ausstattung, sogar mit Föhn. 😊
Close walking distance to some local eateries and a great view from the back yard, clean beds & clean showers, nice communal areas
Make sure you know what beds you’re booking if on bookings.com, paid top dollar for the bottom bunks that lock and were placed in the top bunks and told it was a premium to upgrade to the bottom bunks which one of us paid just to have a lock on the bunk which didn’t even actually work & neither did the doorpad lock downstairs so anyone could just walk in this place at any given time which we didn’t like.
Very clean and well equipped.
It was hot that day and the rooms were stuffy. A few more fans would have helped
I liked the privacy of the lower bunk, the personal light fixture, fan and side table. There was also adequate room for a pack or small suitcase within this lower bunk area. The kitchen was large enough for a number of guests if they were there at the same time and I had sufficient space to store perishable food items in the fridge and freezer.
I would not recommend the upper bunk based upon what I observed during my stay as the ceiling is very low and there is really no place to stow a pack or suitcase or hang a towel to dry after shower in reasonable proximity with lockers located on the lower floor and a distance from the bunks. The lockers themselves are quite narrow and may not accommodate a medium sized suitcase. The lower bunk door could be locked from the inside but not from the outside. The addition of a padlock to the lower bunk sliding door (similar to that provided for the lower floor lockers) would be a significant improvement. During my stay I needed to store my luggage each day in my vehicle, bringing it up again each night for the duration of my stay. There were not many guests during my visit but had it been a "full house" I expect that the two showers/sinks/toilets for each gender (male and female) would become problematic in the morning hours. The washrooms could be renovated to work for all guests regardless of gender if a locking door was added to the shower stalls. Additionally, it was necessary to run the shower for two to three minutes before any warm water was available. I suggest that the cause of this be investigated to reduce needless water waste.
Everything I needed was available and clean and orderly. The staff was very helpful.
The top bunk is a bit harder to climb in and out of but we'll designed.
I like nothing in this property.
I was charged for the rooms that I tried cancelling several times before the cancellation deadline. Series of emails and conversation were sent on both parties but they are unresponsive during that time where in fact they know that they can do something somehow as the property owner. They will always say to call booking.com..which I did of course. They know that something is not right and that they did nothing to consider or reach out to the third party. What they did is not rightful and very inconsiderate, insensitive knowing that this is supposed to be an enjoyable moment for my 3 boys birthday. They don't have the heart to help you because at that moment they are waiting for the opportunity that they will get the money without us using it. This is frustrating and stressful birthdays of my kids and to all of us.If I can give a numerous negative zeros here, I will.
Nice and clean, price is great. Well stocked kitchen with micro, hotplate, coffeepot kettle and dishes, coffee, creamer...but no stove. Tv and internet, towels, showers, lockers...all good. Walk to pub , grocery, in 10 minutes, or hot springs. Not busy
Much privacy for a hostel. The design of the hostel is cozy with a few nice couches and a tv.
Very small bunks with almost no space for a suitcase. Cold showers and dirty dishes in the kitchen. It's not possible to lock his bunk from the outside.
Always enjoy a pleasant and quiet stay here. Gentlemen at the desk was nice, and there were only a couple others staying in the hostel.
Wish it was a bit closer to Invermere/Panorama, but otherwise it's good. Hot water takes a while.
Amazing location, super cute wood and orchard themed design
common kitchen was good
too hot to sleep
We spent a night in this hostel and it was great. It's difficult to say how it would be with more people in the room but with 2 other people it was fine. The lady at the front desk was lovely, the instructions are clear. The hostel is clean and have 2 toilets + 2 showers per gender and the kitchen is well equipped. And thank to the sliding door of your sleeping "room" you still have your own privacy. Do not stay at the hostel if you're claustrophobic though, take a room in the motel
I'm petite so no problem for me but the bed was almost too short for my boyfriend (186 cm). And we wouldn't book for a long stay because of the space, it's perfect for a short stay though
Lovely place to stay. Beds were comfy and very private. Bathrooms we clean and kitchen area well equipped.
Nice place, clean, private bunks, has everything you need, good price compared to other hostels in the area, check in was quick and simple
bathrooms small with low roof
Awesome administration, super quick check-in and -out, no problems with anything! Very clean and well-maintained place, with huge modern kitchen, nice bathrooms, comfy beds, and respectful roommates. The entire property was very stylish - like a cozy but spacious wooden cabin with a view to the forest and mountains from both sides. Moreover, the price rocks. Highly recommend!
Upside beds might have had a little more room, the ceiling was pretty low. Besides that - nothing to complain.
Cockroaches are everywhere. Don’t recommend this hostel to anyone’s. It’s awful.
Very cramped & hot
No a/c so very hot as it was on the second floor.
All together the place is so cute 🥰 fresh and beautiful design
Good location, well priced, decent rooms for a hostel style set up. Would stay again.
I would’ve liked to have been able to lock my room while I was out. There’s only an internal chain-lock which I definitely had to use because multiple people got curious and popped their heads in. I also came back from being out for the day a few times to my door slightly ajar and/or light turned on, both of which I was diligent about closing/turning off on my way out.
Location was great and friendly staff.
1. Poor toilet situation as no body wash was provided despite communicating with the Hostel via Booking App. Response was lacking and nonchalant. 2. Kitchen was dirty with cockroaches all over. Very disgusting and needs an uplift. 3. Lack of communication when power was cut in the Radium hot spring areas. Nobody was around to provide any help 4. Bunks are not well ventilated. Very hot during the summer. We left one night early as the overall situation was poor. Bad hostel experience so I’m not sure where the reviews are coming from.

Great location. Friendly staff. The private pods are very comfortable. Comes with bedding and towels. Showers have shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
The bugs inside the hostel. This was my second time staying here. There were no bugs last time. There were bugs in culinary drawer, the freezer (somehow it was still alive) and on the counter tops. We didn’t find or see any bugs outside the kitchen area. When I say bugs, I don’t mean one or two, there was quite a few and they came out at night. Management should consider bug traps. The one type of beetle is harmless, but still there was way too many. I did report the issue and was told a note would be left. Hopefully, this concern is addressed in a timely fashion. We will consider stay there again in the future, as it’s a super cute hostel.
The cleaning lady and the people in the area.
The blatant disregard for contract and check-in clerk getting personally passively aggressive with me. Check in time is strictly after 4pm or an hour or so after written check-in time. Having a vehicle this wasn't such a big deal, the little jab of placing me in the smallest upper bunk was, especially when they were clearly shown the written check in time. This is generally unusual in hostels which from my experience are normally substandard but friendly.
Excellent location
Great hostel, it almost looks new! The bathrooms were clean, same for the toilets, the beds were very private (with a curtain or a door). Would definitely stay here again!
The orchard hostel was one of my favorite place I’ve stayed in Canada. It’s got everything you need and an outstanding atmosphere! Everything was clean and the staff at the reception was super friendly and helpful.
Non
My expectations were for a place to sleep. The Orchard hostel exceeded this expectation.
The sleeping bunk was secure but very small. I was happy with it; some might find it tiny.
private bunks is awesome and spacious, everything you would need in the kitchen. super cute that the bunks are named after the different kinds of apples.
Absolutely excellent! Clean and super cosy. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be coming back!
Extra room.
To loud.
We cannot say to much about the hostel. We booked a hostel room, but due to some complications got upgraded to a private room which was absolutely great! Newly renovated, very clean and with all the amenities we needed!
When we arrived the hostel was pretty dirty, but we went to the reception and they immediately dealt with the problem and took absolute great care of us.
Cheap and cosy. The bottom bunks (sort of private mini space) are well worth the 10$ extra.
Top bunks are a bit small
Well equipped...
A few issues with the shower...and Microwave
Cleaness
Made a small complaint about somebody turning on the air conditioning to 18 celcius, the staff didn’t do any intervention. Some guests arrive at 23h30 and made noise ++ Nobody ( guest ) lock the access to the Hostel
After traveling around BC/Alberta for a month this is for sure the best hostel I've stayed at. Reminds of similar concepts in Asia/Europe. This had a very cool layout though which also accommodated couples in their own capsule if they so wish. Very tidy, nice little kitchen with everything we needed to cook breakfast/lunch and a super friendly owner to top it all off! No doubt of where we would stay if we pass through this cool little town again.
We would've loved a toaster in the kitchen.
