Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Super Zimmer für ein vergleichsweise geringen Preis. Echtholz, Balkon mit Blick auf den Eugenisee und blitzeblank. Plus: Man kann direkt am Hotel parken. Frühstück und Check-in/Check-out gibt's im stylischen Hotel Espen gegenüber.

The noise. I know it's not the accommodations fault but there is currently a a construction site right next door to the place that seems to only operate between midnight and 5am and it was extremely loud. I also had the bad luck of staying here along with 100 12 year old boys at a soccer camp. Bad timing!

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026The location is excellent with the Titlis base station within easy walking distance. My room combined old Swiss charm with modern bathroom and tv. During my stay, however, the guesthouse felt largely unattended. There was no staff on site and all check in, questions and assistance was handled by the next door more modern Hotel Espen. Though there is a paying parking meter set up, parking was free for hotel guests
I shared the hotel with a group of "spontaneous" school boys (18-22) who occupied much if not all of the rest of the rooms. Given those (exceptional) circumstances an upgrade to the neighbouring hotel would have been a exceptionally thoughtful gesture.

Nice breakfast and availability of a bar and restaraunt right next door. This property exceeded my expectations especially for the price

A bit warm in summer, opening the windows meant inviting insects. Would have appreciated a few more amenities such as coffee or tea

It's surrounded by mountains & alph valleys & close to Titlis (10 min walk) also there's an Indian restaurant. Trains come on an hourly basis in Engelberg & stores + many restaurants are near the station.

la colazione non è delle migliori, alle 8:30 è già quasi finito tutto. Non c'è yogurt senza zucchero, i cereali sono di pessima qualità. C'è pochissima scelta. Bassa qualità. A volte il personale non è cordiale al reparto colazione. Consiglio di migliorare questo aspetto, basta veramente poco per fare la differenza!

Flur wurde als Abstellraum genutzt, sah nicht sehr ansprechend aus kein Aufenthaltsraum vorhanden wie auf den Fotos zu sehen bzw. abgeschlossen, man konnte sich außer im Zimmer nur im zugehörigen Restaurant schräg gegegnüber aufhalten

Reviewed Mar 12, 2026L’emplacement est parfait : à proximité immédiate des commerces, des restaurants et surtout du Titlis Xpress. Tout peut se faire à pied. La chambre était spacieuse, propre et vraiment confortable. Bonne literie, calme et une jolie vue sur les montagnes.
Je n’ai rien trouvé à redire pendant mon séjour, tout était conforme à mes attentes. L’établissement a parfaitement répondu à ce que je recherchais. Je n’ai donc aucun point négatif à mentionner.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2026This is a very nice guest house, very simple set up, nothing fancy but the best value for the money. Place is clean, there is a restaurant next door and close to cablecar. Dinner was ok as well . Staff is very nice and friendly
It is at the entrance in Engelberg which maxes it a but difficult to reach with small children in case no car.

Leider hatte ich eine furchtbare Nacht. Ich war als einzige Frau im Massenlager. Die meisten männlichen Gäste, welche auch im Massenlager übernachtet haben, waren sehr respektlos und haben mitten in der Nacht angefangen Radau zu machen und waren betrunken. Leider befindet sich die Réception in einem andern Gebäude, und haben somit keine Kontrolle was im Massenlager abgeht, und somit war ich eigentlich als einzige Frau auf mich alleine gestellt und musste die Nacht unter den erwähnten Umständen ausharren… Das einzige, was wenigstens noch ein wenig Trost geschenkt hat, war das tolle Frühstück am nächsten Morgen.

Einrichtung eher alt und spartanisch. Sehr geräuschdurchlässige Wände. Jugendherbergestyle,muss man mögen und man sollte unkompliziert sein. Frühstücksbuffet kleine Auswahl. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht angemessen. 210 Fr für eine Nacht im Doppelzimmer (Wochenende anfangs Januar) in der Hochsaison und bei guter Auslastung aller Engelberger Hotels. In vorigen Jahren gab es in anderen Hotels Zimmer für 140 Fr für 1 Zimmer mit deutlich „mehr „Komfort.

Sharing a bathroom isn’t great and it’s a bath/shower combination. The Pension could upgrade these facilities.

Reviewed Dec 8, 2025Wir waren allein im 8 Bett Zimmer obwohl andere Leute im Haus waren, also hatten wir den Luxus private Zimmer zu haben. Das Frühstuück war auch gut, nichts verrücktes aber absolut gut genug.
Die Rezeption ist IMMER zu, nur die von der Pension von nebenan ist offen und für die Pension St Jakob zuständig.

Angenehme und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiterinnen. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Bei geschlossenem Fenster hört man nicht allzuviel von der Strasse.

No lift - If you get a room at the upper floor, you’ll need to carry your luggage up a long staircase. Breakfast is relatively basic.
