Nous étions là en plein hiver, le premier soir le chauffage s'est éteint à 20h, le deuxième à 21h, avec un seul point de chauffage pour la salle commune, nous avons eu un peu froid. De plus les portes des toilettes communes méritent une petite révision pour un peu plus d'intimité...

Reviewed Jul 18, 2026I arrived quite late, but the reception still waited for me to check in. To my surprise, the owner even upgraded me to a private room. It was such a warm and thoughtful gesture, and I’m truly grateful. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed, and the overall value for money was outstanding. Highly recommended!

Reviewed May 25, 2026Location Fox Glacier is a special place to visit, close to stunning mountain views at Lake Matheson Bus stop just a few yards from accommodation. Relaxing quiet balcony with table and chairs great for sunsets.
Would have liked a bedside light. Room was 'tired' and sparsely furnished no wardrobe or chest of drawers. Need to bring own soap and no spare toilet roll available, when needed.

Reviewed May 2, 2026The person checking yo in gave you good information about the glow worms. The kitchen was well equipt and laid out. The view from upstairs was a cool place to watch the sunset.
The window sills in the bedroom appeared to be rotten and painted over. There was a person staying that was very sick and coughing consistenting. I am glad that I was in a different room. Parking was pretty tight but managable as there were limited people staying. It is advertised as having a sauna but there wasn't one.

Het rook niet heel fris en was allemaal een beetje verouderd, maar het was helemaal prima voor 1-2 nachten.

Reviewed Apr 11, 2026Gut ausgestattetes und sehr sauberes Hostel mit Fliegengitter und ausreichend Gemeinschaftsbädern. Die Küche hat alles, was man braucht, inklusive genügend Ablageflächen und Platz im Kühlschrank. Perfekte Ausgangslage für die Erkundung vom Fox-Gletscher und dem Franz-Josef-Gletscher. Sauna und Whirlpool vorhanden, wurde von uns jedoch nicht genutzt.
Unterkunft wurde zum Zeitpunkt unserer Übernachtungen eher von Gruppen besucht und von eher weniger Einzelpersonen. Da wir selbst zu zweit unterwegs waren, aber überhaupt kein Problem.
