Reviewed Aug 23, 2026If you are coming to Oslob to see whale shark, this is the place to be. Everyone is extremely nice and they are securing the first boat for their guests every morning (wake up time - 4 AM). So it you are on a mission, we highly recommend sharky hostel for a night.
The accommodation is very simple, shared bathrooms and lots of mosquitoes!

カーテンもないベッドに雑魚寝したこと。トイレとシャワーが兼用で、かつ水シャワーしか出なかったこと。みんな早く寝るため、部屋がいつも暗かったこと。

Even nga wala mi naka experience sa whale shark Kay sadly wala jd siya Napakita but okay ra Kay Dili jd mo ma alkansi sa inyong laag swear daghan jd kaayo ug tourist spot in oslob go go na pang laag namo 🫶 over all our experience in Sharky hostel is veryyy recommend thanks you sharky hostel oslob. The vibes are also very warm, friendly and great place to meet new people. The accommodations is basic but all you need for a short stay. Highly recommended of wanting to see the whale sharks.

Reviewed May 18, 2026Tl;Dr если хотите посмотреть на акул, то берите этот отель, тут совсем помогут и всё организуют. Самим будет тяжело это сделать. Номер. Взяли номер в бунгало, чего и вам советую: есть москитная сетка, удобная кровать, чистое постельное бельё. В номере ещё есть и вентилятор, но не особо нужен потому что температура ночью на улице комфортная. Душевая. Есть душевая общая. Тоже чистая Расположение. В минуте ходьбы от пляжа с акулами. Сотрудники отеля помогут с организацией досуга. Сотрудники отеля. Очень приветливые и добродушные люди: всё расскажут, всё покажут и помогут.

Reviewed May 17, 2026Amazing service, the staff is extraordinary going above and beyond to cover any and all necessities of the guests (arrival, comfort, activities, tours, departures, transport, etc). Such a personalized level that is uncanny and not even 5 stars hotels provide. Hands down
The bedrooms can be improved, although they are not the main factor in this place

Reviewed May 13, 2026The young guy working there is such a ray of sunshine! I love how friendly and accommodating he is, highly recommended if you are just transiting to see the whale sharks they can arrange it for you.
The entrance is a bit hidden between two shops so it can be hard to find. A clearer sign indicating the entrance to the hostel would be great, especially for travelers arriving at night.

Reviewed May 12, 2026員工非常熱情，在乎你的體驗是否開心。會幫你處理幾乎所有事情，包含賞鯨鯊的相關裝備，例如協助租借蛙鞋、呼吸管、GoPro 等等；會協助你接下來的旅程，推薦景點、直接帶你去巴士站坐車等等。賞鯨鯊我們當天早上3點30去排隊，等確認排隊順序後，我們就回房休息。住宿地到鯨鯊入口距離大概走路30秒😂。當天我們是第一船出海的。
跟其他旅客寫得差不多，可預期環境不好，但比想像中的更糟。床單看起來沒有每個旅客用完就洗、有點味道、上面也有不明的灰。廁所髒且有異味、洗澡的水幾乎是用滴的。睡得時間不多，就忍耐忍耐吧。

Reviewed May 11, 2026If you want to go to the whale sharks, STAY HERE!! We were up at 3 to get the first spot, back to sleep until 5.30 and then first boat in the water. We had 2 whale sharks with us. There’s a restaurant right across the road and this was perfect for getting to do the above activity. I didn’t want to be surrounded by people doing this and staying here allowed us to do that. Jojo and the crew are awesome, they genuinely care about you and your experience even from the vendors in the surrounding shops! Would recommend here to anyone.

Reviewed May 10, 2026La famille qui nous a accueilli a toujours le sourire aux lèvres, est toujours prête à aider et s’assure que vous êtes les premiers sur le bateau au petit matin malgré les milliers de touristes. Nous avons passé de très bons moments avec eux.
Le seul point négatif mais qu’on retrouve souvent aux Philippines sont les coqs à proximité.

Reviewed May 1, 2026Bench & Jojo are very helpful with any question or problem. They secured me a spot on ferry even though it was not available online. Also, I had a minor accident while observing whale sharks, and they helped me much more than emergency on the beach. Btw, we were the first group in the morning to see the sharks!
Can't complain because the price and location are the best around!

Ca n'est pas que je n'ai pas aimé mais je pense qu'une seule salle de bain, ça n'est pas assez pour tous les occupants des cabanes. Nous étions, nous-même, une famille de 5, une deuxième salle de bain aurait été un petit plus pour ne pas trop attendre.

Reviewed Apr 12, 2026Instead of driving many hours to see Whale sharks, here you open your eyes and you are already several steps away from start point. And you get on the first boat. While others are waiting in the queue for boat, you can just go back to sleep and come back for boat. The staff boy was so fun and friendly :)
The bungalow is very small and be careful not to drop anything small on the floor, as you can loose it threw the floor holes. But if you are sleeping in bamboo bungalow you expect it. And be careful of jellyfish, but thats not on hotel ofcorse.

Reviewed Apr 9, 2026Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für die Walhaie. Man ist direkt am Startpunkt, kann als erste Gruppe raus und muss sich den zugegeben sehr befremdlichen Trubel nicht länger mit ansehen. Eine Nacht ist aber definitiv ausreichend. Netter Bereich mit einem Pool-Billiard, in dem man abends nett mit den anderen Gästen zusammen sitzen kann. Der Enkel der Gastgeberin ist sehr lustiger Typ, der vor Ort alles organisiert.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026Skvělí hostitelé, kteří nám pomohli s registrací na whale sharks. Byli jsme mezi prvními. Byl to nádherný zážitek. Potom jsme jeli na Tumalog Falls. Paní hostitelka byla nápomocná a zajistila nám tuk tuk, který nás odvezl na trajekt. Doporučuji.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026We loved the staff more than the property. Very friendly. Property: greener with small cottages. There are dorms too. Gives a great vibe. Very near to whale watching location. Thats a major yes. Bathrooms is shared for all. Thats a downside for privacy. Staff: Unique staff with owner Aunty Maria , 2 guys, Cute kittens and 2 lovely canines. Aunty and the team helped us with Whale watching queue. They help you connect for different tours and travels. Any issues, ask Aunty and the team. These guys are very proactive. Finally, Team is really really great. If private bathroom is not a need, must try this property.
Scope for private bathroom if possible.

Reviewed Mar 28, 2026- Super Lage für das Walhai-Schnorcheln - die "Sharky Omi", Malou und Stormy waren mega nett und zuvorkommend - nette Grünanlage mit kleinen Bungalows ohne viel chichi (völlig ausreichend für eine Nacht)
- Wenn man abends nochmal weggehen wollte, war dort fast nichts (man musste recht weit mit dem tuk tuk ins Zentrum fahren) - eine Frühstücksoption wäre von Vorteil, aber natürlich kein Muss, da gleich nebenan ein Café war ;)

La chambre est correcte, équipée d’un ventilateur et d’une moustiquaire. La salle de bain commune est passable, mais nous ne venions pas pour le confort, seulement pour l’excursion, et tout s’est très bien passé.

Не нужно ожидать сервиса-комфорта, бамбуковые хижины с вентилятором. То, что нужно чтобы переночевать в Ослобе

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026Amazing accommodation, for whale shark watching. It’s literally 1 minute walk from the registration point and diving point. The owners organizing everything for you, from start to finish, and you are the first group to do the dive in, which is amazing, because once the other groups are arriving the water gets very crowded. The owners are super nice, and helpful, they literally support you with anything you need, if you want to visit also to Sumilon island, or Tumalog waterfall they will help you! The bungalow is very comfy, and the atmosphere so chill! I loved that they make me feel so welcome, and make me feel like home. If you looking for the best spot for the whaleshark watch, this is the one!

チェックインは夜10時に終わります。バスの到着が遅れ10時を過ぎて私が着いた頃にはスタッフが誰もおらず、電話も出ないので途方に暮れた。 ドーミトリールームにライトがなく、終始真っ暗なのは驚いた。 あと、シャワーは水しか出ないし、水量も少ないです。
