The staff was too bad no hot water availability and exactly at 9am on my day of check out the person started banging on my door to move out such a disappointment
I dint like any thing about that place no kitchen faclity staff was very rude
Great view
No female dorm
Clean and comfy, the staff is very friendly. The hostel is in the mountain far by walk to Mc Leod Ganj but at least the surrounding is very peaceful. By night they put some music, the guest and staff are joyful. It's good for people who like to make friends and enjoy.
You get a bed and washroom in 450 rs it's worth it for emergency and if you want to save and travel
In bunk bed little ventillation is needed room are small and in small bed 4 bunks make it very congested
Great location, very helpful staff, cafe is good too, and the vibe is quite social!
Nothing really, if I have to say something I'd say the latches on the 6-bed dorm's lockers should be fixed.
It's good..very hygienic and owners are good
Came with bags of work stress and going back with rejuvenated energies packed! A breathtaking memorable time with—uphill, downhill, treks, waterfalls, cafés Young Monk absolutely spoil you (aadat bigaad di!) with quality food served right at your table while you work. It is one of the best hostels we have ever stayed in, nailing everything from hygiene cleanliness to smooth logistics and work/hangout spaces. The hosts Roma and DJ are super kind helpful and approachable, bringing genuine joy to their hosting—you can tell they truly love what they do. The collective effort and labor of the entire team—the chefs, Shiva, Shubham, founders— makes Young Monk so special. From day one, seeing a woman founder co-hosting this space with her partner was an empowering feeling, and it instantly made the environment feel safe, comfortable, and inclusive. Love seeing woman claim spaces.. Finally, presence of Loona and Dumb Dumb added love and coziness to our stay! 🐾❤️
Food was great, the property owner gave great recommendations for things to see and do across the city- I liked how the owners are mindful of maintaining standards within the hostel and are very particular about the overall atmosphere offered to their guests. Would recommend to any one looking for slow travel/workation and have a relaxing fun holiday at Dharamkot
The bathrooms could be improved in terms of lighting and facilities
הודעה בעברית בהמשך The staff is exceptional. Warm and attentive to any need. The place is a hostel with a rustic atmosphere and the most spectacular view of the valley. We stayed in the deluxe room which is a pretty large bedroom + a living room. Has a kitchenette but no cooking facilities. The place is in upper Dharamkot and is a 9 minute walk to the main bazar area. It’s a steep walk up but totally doable. There are also steps within the premises to reach the room.
It's located far up. Very quiet and very good view.. The staff where very nice and helpful I took the top floor room, it was very big with living room and separate bed room with very nice balcony
Every climbing up is a trek Good for health Buy it takes an effort
Everything
Nothing
The management and staff of the hostel are very professional and helpful. The washroom was spacious and clean.
All well but will be better if there is a common kitchen where guests can cook as some people struggle with outside food.
My view
Eat at cafe only
Like the hospitality was just out of the world it's was my first solo trip and because of this hostel it will be the best solo trip I ever had.
Vibes are very nice and people were very hospitable
Superb location ..staff behaviour excellent
Location and size of room with balcony view.
No hot water (rooftop solar is not hot) No television or hot water kettle.
Ottima posizione, struttura circondata da pace e natura, non riuscivamo ad andare via dalla suite.. il lounge era molto bello 🤩
Niente
Location , staff , view
Cafe wasn’t working at the time
view from the location is good , quiet place
pillows bedsheet and mattresses were soiled
I reached Dharamkot alone and wasn’t sure how the stay would be, but this place felt comfortable almost instantly. The vibe is very calm and safe, which made it easy to relax. I remember just sitting with my food, enjoying the view, and feeling completely at ease. And Dumdum would randomly come sit nearby — cutest part of the day honestly.
Stayed here for a day while working remotely as a freelancer and it was a great experience. Wifi was stable enough for work, which was important for me. The place specially dorm room is clean and well maintained. Food quality is really good and tasty. The café view is a big plus great spot to work or just relax. Staff is friendly and supportive. Shiva manages things really well and is always available if you need anything. Overall, one of the better hostels in Dharamkot for both work and stay.
Had a really peaceful stay at Young Monk Dharamkot. The location is super serene. Great sunset views, away from noise but still properly connected by road, which made reaching easy. The vibe here is very homely. The food was honestly very tasty and felt fresh every time. Wifi was working well too, which helped since I was working a bit. Cleanliness was well maintained in both dorms and common areas. The view from the café is beautiful, especially during sunset. Also, Luna and Dumdum are the cutest dogs ever, they just make the place feel even more warm. Shiva (manager) was very helpful and easy to talk to. Definitely one of the top hostels in Dharamkot.
Location and the staff
Nothing to not like about this property
Best backpacker hostel I’ve stayed at in Himachal so far! If you’re looking for a spot that actually delivers on cleanliness and vibe, this is it. The washrooms are surprisingly clean and well-maintained, which is rare for a budget stay. The amenities are solid, and the overall place is kept very neat and tidy. I spent most of my time at the cafe—it has a great atmosphere for chilling and meeting other travelers. A big shoutout to the staff as well; they’re super helpful and genuinely make you feel welcome. It’s a very comfortable stay with a proper backpacking soul. Highly recommend it if you're passing through the area!
Hands down the best backpacker hostel I’ve stayed at in Himachal so far! The entire place is incredibly neat and tidy. I was especially impressed with how clean the bedsheets and washrooms were—which isn't always easy to find on the road. If you're looking for a comfortable and hygienic stay, this is the spot. Highly recommended!"
Location and view from the cafe.
Internet was down on the first floor near my room during my visit.
Had amazing views of the village and was a very sociable hostel.
Lacked heating appliances during super cold months and sometimes the geyser didn’t work.
The location was great, our room opened to an unobstructed view of valley and mustard fields, loved the sun light in the room throughout the day.
wifi was bit irritating
I recently visited Dharamkot and stayed at the Young Monk Hostel, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms were super comfortable, but what truly stood out was how amazing the management was. They made me feel like I wasn’t away from home at all. Especially two staff members, Hanish and Om, created such a welcoming atmosphere that I genuinely felt like part of a family. The warm hospitality, the delicious food, and the personal touch in everything they did made this stay truly memorable. Hanish even took us on a trek himself and guided us around, making sure we got to see the best spots. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re heading to Dharamkot, definitely stay at Young Monk. You’ll not only find comfort, but you’ll also take home memories that will last a long time. It really felt like finding a little home away from home.
I think there was nothing such thing that I didn’t liked.
The whole place! Amazing!
Location was lovely, with beautiful views of the mountains. Dormitory room, with 6 beds were clean, comfortable, warm , with good comforters. Bathroom was clean, with hot water, toilet tissue, liquid hand wash, shampoo. Sit out warm, welcoming, with seating, casual, comfortable, books, chess, music system, dining. Food was cooked freshly in-house and served hot in the sit out , by friendly staff
Towels were not available. The gas cylinder / stove developed a leakage issue, due to which in-house food was not available for 1-2 days, but later sorted
Everything, the location ,the staff , the people , the food ❤️
There is always scope for improvement and they are doing good ...
The place is very scenic with great views however very set out of the way- research where you want to be in Dharamkot (upper vs lower). I wish we could say better things- staff were hit and miss, we were misled about an early check in and left hanging, the wifi only worked 15% of the time in our room, the hot water only worked twice our whole stay, the heater in our room was going to be charged to use and it didn't work either. Worst of all was when we finally were able to check in 1.5 hours after we were told we were given a very obviously dirty room with visibly dirty sheets and a used towel hanging in the bathroom. Having to ask to have clean sheets and towels isn't something anyone wants to deal with. I did reach out to management with no response. Overall, this place left us disappointed and I would recommend people spend their money elsewhere.
Nice location.
Perhaps the time of year but completely vibeless, staff weren’t overly accommodating and they put me in a room adjacent to where they were building another room out of bricks. Kept leaving the outside light on which shone straight into the bedroom which required me to scramble over bricks and other construction material to turn off.
Great and tranquil location, nice sun terraces
At the time of my stay the cafe was closed. Understandably because it was off season, but this would have been a nice add on
The staff was friendly and helpful. It was clean and very safe for a solo traveller.
The property was under construction so it was a little noisy
最滿意的是這裡的公共區域非常的寬敞美好、廁所有提供穩定的熱水淋浴和房間外美麗的山景。
廁所的地板和飄出的氣味乾淨的程度可以再更好。
The people, staff and the location - all fab
There’s no kitchen staff, safety lockers for luggage in my room lacked a secure door to close it
Location is okayish, that's it.
Worst place I have ever been. Stayed for 3 days and toilets were not cleaned once even after asking they did not. Sheets and pillow covers are not changed after checkout. If are planning to dump ur luggage and mostly will be out you can book it. Beaware after if you get any payment links don't pay, always pay after reaching. Each floor has one washroom so good luck on the waiting.
Location is good
The manager is only the sweat talker that makes you comfortable but he plays with your word As I requested him to tell his staff to clean the room so instead of that he shifted me to the other room
Location is good
Noo cleanliness and the kitchen is not operated All the bathroom hardware are broken Property is not maintained so if you just want to sleep it's a best and cheap option other wise I don't consider this hostel. I have some how manage to stay 2 days but they even don't clean the room
Peaceful place with nice people and great view!
The hostel is well situated in a quiet area with a great view. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean. But most of all a big thank you to Anu the property manager. He is an excellent host and creates a great vibe that really feels like a family. Incredibly humble and helpful. Thank you so much Anu!
Unfortunately the chef was on leave so the Cafe was closed. Only suggestion in the rooms is to add a small shelf by each bed.
The friendliness of the staff and the vibes in the common area. It was like family get together The view from the common area. The view from our room was not that great. Was given room on ground floor. Suggest to make this like a dormitory
The view from my room. There are no windows, just a door to a common balcony. The variety of the food available and the limited timings. The quality was ok
Good vibes
