A lovely eccentric hostel, very clean and quiet. The staff are very attentive and all spaces are clean and have a real homey feeling. A place where you can put up feet and just relax surrounded by books and a cozy fireplace.

Beautiful vintage hostel, perfect for an overnight stay if you're taking the night ferry to Picton. Great atmosphere, the owners are incredibly friendly, the kitchen is well-equipped, and breakfast is included, all for an unbeatable price. Located very close to the ferry terminal, so you don't have to drive far after your trip, and it also includes free parking. The hostel is beautifully decorated with murals, you can see the dedication and love the owners have put into maintaining it. Everything was very clean overall, well-heated, and the beds are comfortable. They don't mind a late check-in at all. We arrived around 12:30 pm and they were waiting for us at reception, which we really appreciated. Our stay was short, but I would definitely return to this hostel 😄

The staff are amazing. I forgot the beautiful lady’s name but I will always remember her hospitality, warm welcome and obviously the history she talks about when she’ll show around the premises.

It’s pretty average for what you pay. A bit old and historic building. Cheaper stay right at the central location. The big difference is staff. They’re amazing and kind.

Very quirky accommodation. Very accommodating host. She was far happier than she should have been getting out of bed to let us in after midnight... She also rearranged our rooming to accommodate an extra person.

The venue is fantastic.. reminiscent of a good vibe film set with lovely characters playing their parts with courteous, creative efficiency. I’ll be back..🤩

The hostel is gorgeous with lots of murals and things dotted around the spaces. The room was comfortable and warm which is what we needed in winter. Perfect location to get onto the ferry.

I spend here two different nights in two different rooms. Staff was so nice and helpful and made me feel right at home. The hostel itself has a really unique atmosphere. The location is very good, the ferry terminal is near as well as the bus stop and its also in walking distance from very beautiful hiking trails. It was tidy and comfortable and also included a breakfast that was served early in the morning which was super nice! I really enjoyed my time there and the conversations I had :)

Super eccentric place! Lovely staff, highly recommend checking it out. Definitely something to see. Comfortable and cosy with dessert at 7pm daily.

Die Lage ist super, man wird herzlich begrüßt, das Hostel ist sehr individuell und bunt gestaltet, man findet in jedem Raum was zu gucken. Mein Bett war sehr bequem, die Küche ist super ausgestattet und das Bad sehr sauber.

Il posto è molto originale e pittoresco. Ogni singolo angolo della casa è dipinto con murales da terra al soffitto, vi sono moltissimi oggetti che danno all'ambiente un'aria di casa vintage e hippy, tutto è molto vissuto e personalizzato e ci si sente in famiglia. L'accoglienza è straordinaria, la titolare è gentilissima e generosa. Un luogo vitale. A solo due minuti dal traghetto.

Le camere non hanno finestre, questo potrebbe essere un problema per chi soffre di claustrofobia. I bagni e le docce sono dalla parte opposta delle camere, quindi bisogna passare in mezzo al soggiorno dalla camera al bagno. Essendoci moltissimi oggetti è normale che ci sia polvere.

It's very easy to find the backpackers, since Picton is a small town, and it's just beside the main road of the town centre. The room is small but cozy. It has such a big kitchen, and you can use it anytime.

In winter, the room is a little bit cold.

I booked late at night and was accepted on short notice.I rung the reception and was taken for a walk around then where I sleep. The bed was so comfortable had the best sleep ever. I loved all the artwork I felt comfortable there it had a homely quirky vibe and the owner was so lovely.

There was nothing I didn't like about it.

The vibe and people are great. The staff is very kind. It has everything one needs, and it’s decorated in a unique and beautiful way.

It was an exceptional experience, haha. It is very funny, cluttered and the most unusual place with interesting characters around. I had a good time. It was a decent place to stay a night.

An impressive and vibrant backpacker hostel with a warm and genuinely heartfelt welcome. The hosts go above and beyond to make every guest feel comfortable and truly at home—they are simply wonderful. The location is fantastic, right by the harbor and the sea, and just a short walk from the ferry.

淋浴間間數較少，淋浴間排水不良會積水。廁所男女共用，有時沒那麼乾淨。

L’accueil, la gentillesse et la bonté des hôtes sont un gros plus! On nous a recommandé pleins d’endroits très intéressants à visiter aux alentours et on a même eu l’opportunité de gouter à un dessert allemand préparé par l’hôte. Nous avons eu un petit pépin mécanique, ce qui nous a empêché de faire notre check-out dans les temps prévus. Les hôtes ont été très accommodants et compréhensifs. Nous avons été accueilli à l’intérieur d’une grande famille et nous en gardons que de bons souvenirs. Gros plus pour le déjeuner gratuit!

Very cheap (for a reason)

In our 6 months of travelling this is the only place we’ve turned up to and immediately left. We have been budget backpacking and stayed in some pretty questionable places. Room smelled of smoke, only 3 unisex bathrooms for entire hostel at other side of building. Stains on bedding. Window above door with no curtain or blind. The property mentions being eclectic and full of personality (read: cluttered and unclean). Would urge anyone booking to read the numerous Google reviews about bed bugs & fleas (even 5* ones mention fleas!) and to also notice how the property replies to poor reviews. Be aware the only parking is 60 min street parking outside the property (we thought there was free off-street parking as advertised but that’s not the case).

Quirky art and decor in a comfy backpackers

The staff were so welcoming, the property was lovely and clean and very cozy with the fireplace. It’s in a great location too. If I pass back through Picton I would not hesitate to come back. Thankyou :)

Staff was so nice and explained everything when I arrived. Poster with info, decoration, games, books, music were all around the place. It’s two minutes away from the ferry which is awesome. Kitchen had everything and more. They offer breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay so much!

Very quirky place. Extremely well equipped and good facilities, nice location and the artwork all around was lovely. The breakfast and dessert was also very tasty and a nice touch. Will definitely come back to spend more time there.
