I stayed at Hanoi Buffalo Hostel during my trip to Vietnam, and it turned out to be one of my favorite stays of the entire journey. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff made us feel welcome. Everyone greeted us with a smile, spoke good English, and made the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. Their friendly attitude immediately made us feel comfortable. One thing I really enjoyed was the social atmosphere. The hostel offers free beer from 7–8 PM, and that hour becomes a great opportunity to meet fellow travelers. People were relaxing, playing games, sharing travel stories, and the overall vibe felt very friendly and welcoming. We also joined the pub crawl, which was a lot of fun. We booked a private room, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious, had an attached bathroom, a cute little balcony, and a very comfortable bed. After long days of exploring Hanoi, it was the perfect place to relax. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of good options to start the day. We also booked a day trip to Ninh Binh through the hostel, and the entire process was quick, easy, and well organized. Another major advantage is the location. Situated in Hanoi’s vibrant Old Quarter, everything is within easy reach. Beer Street, local restaurants, cafés, shops, and many attractions are all nearby, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. Overall, I genuinely felt this was one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Whether you’re a solo traveler looking to meet people or someone who wants a comfortable and well-located stay, I would highly recommend Hanoi Buffalo Hostel.

Everything was perfect.

Établissement bien placé, chaque matin vers 10h Luna propose une visite du vieux quartier et environ, super visite très intéressante et gratuite! Luna est une super guide. Dortoirs bien organisés. Casiers à disposition salle de bain à l’intérieur du dortoir , petit déjeuner correct.

De locatie was top, prima bed. Schone en ruime badkamer in onze 2persoonskamer. Ook niet al te gehorig met al het stapvolk in de buurt

Bedden zijn hier overal vrij hard.

Staff here are wonderful - all very helpful and accommodating. This place has a lovely atmosphere that allows you to have fun but is not too hectic. Overall, amazing value and would highly recommend staying here - we returned multiple times throughout our travels in Vietnam.

I don’t know how to start, this hostel has SO MANY qualities ! 1. Great location in Hanoi 2. The staff is soooo nice ! From the cleaning ladies to the receptionists, everyone is super kind ! 3. The free breakfast in the morning is really nice ! (The free beer in the evening also ) 4. A lot of space in the common place It’s clean, confortable, well climatised, there is animation in the evening, so it’s easy to meet new people !

The wifi was not so good in (my) room, but it works perfectly in the common space, so it wasn’t a big issue

Friendly environment between the guests, great to meet other travelers and have fun together. The staff are also friendly and speak good english. I had a problem with electrical outlet inear my bed, and they sent someone to replaced it in less then an hour. Nice rooms with big lockers

L’emplacement était parfait , pas bruyant. Il y a de l’air climatisé partout dans l’établissement . Il y a de l’eau potable gratuit . Super déjeuner à volonté. Le staff est super gentil et accommodant. Aire commune super nice pour se reposer!

Best value in the region! Clean, has jacuzzi, a restaurant with good prices and vegan options, alcoholic drinks, smoothies. Attracts friendly travelers. Great value for low price.

It was a great and social place, I really enjoyed breakfast and people around there. Bed was comfy and clean.

The bathroom door was too close to the toilet seat, they should work on that.

Hostellet hadde en perfekt lokasjon midt i gamlebyen, bare et par minutters gange fra busstasjonen til Ha Giang. Ubegrenset med gode restauranter, kafeer, skjønnhetssalonger og shopping rett utenfor. ELSKET også at en pålitelig minibank ATM var rett utenfor. Rommet hadde et fint bad med toalett koblet direkte til rommet, med en stor dusj, som er mangelvare på hosteller. Veldig fornøyd med oppholdet mitt, hadde booket og anbefalt igjen. De ansatte var supereffektive, har aldri hatt en så rask innsjekk som når jeg kom midt på natten.

Sengen var ganske knirkete, og det er stor sjanse for å miste noe ned til sengen under om du ligger i den øverste køysengen, fordi sengene ikke er festet til veggen.

Hubo un problema con un huésped y no hicieron nada al respecto. No dejaba dormir a nadie de la habitación durante días y nos ofrecieron a los demás cambiarnos de habitación pero no à el.

Its in old quarter where the party is nearby (tho im not really a party goer). It is solo traveller friendly. It is cheap.

Wat een fantastische locatie. Onzettend leuk verblijf gehad! Een gezellige sociaal hostel. Eigenlijk zijn alle Buffalo hostel geweldig en deze dus ook!

De badkamer was wel erg gehorig

Je ne suis rester qu'une nuit et je regrette un peu car c'était un endroit où il était possible de faire des rencontre assez facilement. La bière gratuite en arrivant fait toujours plaisir ;)

Juste le locker pour les affaires dans la chambres ne fonctionnait pas pour moi. Mais, à part ça c'était super, et je n'avais pas d'affaires importantes donc ça allait. Mais, sinon je pense que le personnel est assez attentif et aurait pu régler mon problème :)

Other tenants in the room were very noisy in the middle of the night. They came in drunk and were having sexual intercourse and making loud noises

The hostel is in a great location. Only a short walk to the lake and the shops. The hostel dorms are nice, the staff are great and they organise great events. Really enjoyed the free walking tour.

Ok hostel, had a private room. Facilities was ok, pool wasn’t great, very small. Most of the facilities were reasonably clean. Good entertainment in the evening.
