The island had many power cuts. This was out of their control but having no aircon and water we had to leave for the last 2 nights. No refund.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026It is a small sanctuary in the village. The small houses make it very cosy and the staff is very friendly.
Sadly they don’t have a pool and they don’t serve any other food and drinks than breakfast. Electricity went out a few times when we were there and they were practicing for fiesta nearby so there was a lot of noise during the day.

Reviewed Jul 10, 2026El personal era atento y servicial. Nos entregan la noche anterior el desayuno si teníamos que salir antes de las 7:30h para no perderlo. Tienen servicio de lavandería. Las instalaciones no estaban sucias, pero al tener tanta vegetación a las afueras había hormigas y muchos mosquitos.
La ducha sale caliente pero a poca presión. En el baño hay más insectos que se cuelan por una mosquitera que hay en la ventana. No tienen ellos la culpa pero es una realidad del alojamiento.

Very satisfied with our room - the size, its cleanliness, the comfortable beds, sparkling cr, working tv and fridge.. plus we had clothes line outside to hang dry our swimwear! Rooms are not very soundproof; I was woken often by the guests in the next room talking. I also didn't get an answer to the messages I sent on booking.com until I arrived.

Staff made sandwiches for us every night because we were diving early each morning and wouldn't be able to get the usual breakfast that is included in the room rate. Good shower pressure and hot water compared to some other accommodations in Malapascua. Price is very good for what you get.
Wi-fi is a lot better than last time I was here and works well most of the time, but still can drop out sometimes.

L'unica cosa su cui avrei da ridire sono i prezzi delle bibite all'interno della struttura. Troppo care rispetto a altri locali!!!!! E la colazione potrebbe essere migliore!

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026Madagascar Garden Resort was exactly what we were looking for during our thresher shark dives. The gardens are beautifully kept and the rooms are set back from the main road, so it feels peaceful and private. It’s also away from the (very enthusiastic!) island chickens, which meant we slept incredibly well. The bed was super comfy, the AC worked perfectly, and there was a great hot shower — all the essentials done right. The team were also really helpful with organising transfers, which made everything easy and stress-free. All in all, a perfect stay and we’d absolutely recommend it.

We got stuck an extra night on the island because of a typhoon, the ferry boats are bangka boats and aren’t t great in choppy weather.. we had a hairy ride out and were soaked through.

Reviewed Jan 21, 2026Das Malapascua Garden Resort hat mich sehr positiv überrascht. Es besteht aus kleinen gelben Bungalows in einer gepflegten Anlage. Aussenrum ist alles grün und es gibt mehrere Sitzmöglichkeiten, Hängematten, usw. Unser Zimmer war wirklich gross. Wir hatten ein grosses Doppelbett, eine Sitzbank, Schrank Tisch, Kühlschrank und einen Fernseher. Damit hatte es wirklich alles was man für seinen Urlaub benötigt. Das Badezimmer hat eine warme Dusche mit angenehmem Druck. Alles ist sehr sauber und wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Zimmerservice gibt es auf Nachfrage. Die Lage des Resorts ist super, man ist innerhalb von wenigen Minuten bei diversen Restaurants, in 5 Minuten ist man beim Hafen oder auch am Strand. Für uns war das perfekt & entspannt dass alles fussläufig erreichbar war. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und haben uns auch ein Taxi von Maya Port nach Cebu organisiert. Zum Frühstück gab es etwa 5 verschiedene Gerichte zur Auswahl und dazu ein Saft oder eine Tasse Kaffee. Wir waren wirklich begeistert von dieser Unterkunft und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. 😊 Kleiner Tipp: Google Maps hat uns einen umständlichen Weg angezeigt. Am besten gehen sie vor dem Diver Gems Diving Center links dem kleinen Weg entlang, dann kommen sie direkt zum Haupteingang des Hotels. 😊
Schlechtes kann man wirklich nicht viel finden ;)

Reviewed Jan 20, 2026El entorno se ve cuidado y bonito como en las fotos. La comida está rica. El aire acondicionado funciona bien. Llegamos antes del check-in y nos ofrecieron alojarnos ya en otra habitación porque la nuestra todavía no estaba disponible.
Nuestro viaje coincidió en las fechas de los tifones de noviembre, y en medio del caos que supone para un viajero y del desconocimiento del funcionamiento a raíz de los daños, no recibimos ningún tipo de información especial ni ayuda para gestionar el traslado del aeropuerto de Cebú a Puerto Maya. Nos hubiera gustado como tienen otros hoteles, que hubiera un dosier informativo. Por otro lado, debido a la incertidumbre de saber si realizaríamos el viaje o no por las condiciones obvias porque había un segundo tifón, no contratamos su traslado del aeropuerto hasta saber que el tifón no afectó a la zona el día de antes. Cuando nos habían dicho ok y nos habían pedido el número de vuelo, nos dejaron tirados con el traslado a las 3 de la madrugada diciendo que el mensaje no les había llegado a tiempo cuando les habíamos contestado seguido a su mensaje. Desayuno: necesitas al menos media hora para que te lo hagan sin haber nadie esperando, ves con el tiempo suficiente. Uno de los días, teníamos buceo muy temprano y no podíamos disfrutar del desayuno incluido; nos hicieron un sandwich ridículo sin más, ni un líquido para llevarnos, ni una servilleta… Limpieza: la habitación estaba bien, sin embargo el baño era bastante decepcionante; la escobilla estaba muy sucia y la ducha también. Las toallas del baño estaban bastante usadas y tenían un olor horrible; ni siquiera había una toalla para los pies en la ducha ni para el pelo. El papel del baño, lo usamos para sonarnos los mocos y olía a tabaco. Ducha: sale un chorrito súper escaso de agua y no se puede regular la temperatura. Edredón: en una cama doble, ponen edredones individuales bastante justos de tamaño, como te muevas, estás destapado. La habitación tiene una cortina que no cubre suficientemente bien la ventana; por lo que si eres de los que le cuesta dormir si hay luz, no es tu lugar.
