The ambience. The balcony view was brilliant.
Food options could be better.
Location, staff and service
Related to Restaurant no proper menu as per customer whenever call as per menu no is there...Only Buffet
Our 3 day stay at Aalterra was well taken care of specially with good breakfast and dinner (though more variety could be added). We liked the rooms, enjoyed the indoor activities and the staff were all very well behaved and polite. We also think the property was beautiful and quiet.
Since the location was quite offbeat, we did not expect it would be so far away from going anywhere to the town areas.
Good green compound. Serene atmosphere.
There were very limited indoor activities.
Breakfast was good only, the atmosphere and the room and surroundings were magic.
The food is so stuck to the usual buffet and anything else takes a whole lot of time and delay.
The place is extremely well maintained , with a lovely staff to help whenever asked.

property is neatly maintained with sophisticated architecture. Do not miss the authentic Kerali food from the restaurant. It’s amazing!
not much.
We stayed at Aalterra during our trip to Wayanad in early June 2026. Our cottage featured four double rooms—two on the ground floor and two on the first floor—and we occupied one of the upper-level rooms. The room itself was incredibly spacious, featuring a comfortably firm mattress and plenty of pillows. The bathroom was equally large and fully stocked with all the requisite toiletries. Perched on a hilltop, the property is stunningly lush and dotted with mango, jackfruit, fig, mangosteen, avocado, guava, and rubber trees. It rained throughout our three-day stay, and the daytime calls of the peacocks paired with the nighttime chirping of the crickets beautifully reminded us of our hometown. We opted for the breakfast and dinner package, which proved to be a very wise decision since the property is about 10 km away from Kalpetta. The food spreads were diverse enough that we never got bored, and every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the staff was remarkably hospitable—they even gifted us a ripe jackfruit upon our departure, and we bought a few plant saplings to take home. Overall, it was a lovely, deeply relaxing stay. I highly recommend Aalterra to anyone looking for a completely stress-free holiday!
Nothing
1. The scenery 2. Food 3. Staff courteousness 4. Pet friendly
1. The path was very steep 2. Bathroom shower area was slippery 3. The corners of the rooms weren't very clean
We had a great stay at Aalterra.
The flora was good and the wilderness
It is definitely not a 5 star property probably a 2 star
Awesome

Beautiful property and location
Food timings and options / limitations
Breakfast was exceptional. The staff were really accomodative of all requests. Ms. Amrutha in the reception, Mr. Sunil from the restaurant and the two young adults who were working here part time, made our stay very pleasant. The property is large and there are quite a few things that you can explore. It's in a remote location which makes it worth the drive to stay away from all the noise.
The price can be a little cheaper.
Per friendly, beautiful and good food
The stay here was phenomenal. From the quality of the property to hospitality, staff and facilities, it was top notch. Would love to visit again.
I liked mostly everything, except that it is a little on the outskirts of the city. It's not really a problem though.
The stay was very comfortable amidst the nature, food, staff and ambience was top notch.
Spacious Rooms, Nature, Restaurant, Car parking
Evening Tea and snacks should be made available without any charges.
Location good, no much to see worth around. In the room there is no side table, mirror so small located at remote. Food breakfast bit good but rest of the food hopeless and not worth the standard paid by us only for the room 13500 for 2 days.Improve or guests will not recommend.
Everything
It is too remote
All were good. Atmosphere, place, Room
Restaurant and staffs was pathetic. Especially the service and hospitality of restaurant staffs.
Hospitality and service from all staffs- starting from reception, restaurant managers, cleaning staffs, guide- everyone had a smile on their face.
Nothing
Room and outdoor activities were good for family
We took room with private pool. But pool was not clean.
Good options for Breakfast
Location was beautiful with a lot of greenery around
A beautiful resort with immaculately cared for grounds. Amazing view and privacy from the bottom cottage. Quiet except for the delightful bird song in morning and evening. Many birds to view up close. Lovely, misty sunrise from my balcony. Sunset overlooking mountains near reception. Peaceful and restful. Twenty five minute auto to Kalpetta. Stayed four nights. Good breakfast. Dinner was hit and miss. I loved the butter chicken masala. Responsive staff. Wow! I miss it already and I am a fussy guest! Everything perfect in room and bathroom. Spent my waking time on the balcony.
No negatives!
Resort is very comfortable, clean and staff is very helpfull.resturant and food they served is 10/10 top notch.not even in 5 star hotels i tested food like this.Happy with my stay.will come back for sure.
Nothing.
Staff were very pleasant & willing to help. Food was excellent. Its green everywhere & very calm environment. I would visit this resort again.
Geyser had an issue but that was fixed the same day. I would recommend this place if u r looking for private getaway in a beautiful location.
It was family comfortable staycation actually. Good kind staff. Breakfast served was really tasty. Overall good relaxation place. Our best wishes to the owner.
The location is excellent - set within a coffee plantation. The rooms are on a hillside so you can see some spectacular sunsets. The food was excellent - cooked to order from the menu and it tasted great! There are lots of activities to do to keep the kids busy. They were taken fishing to the resort's large fish pond. They also have a games room above reception. The staff are great too!
The water heater capacity is bit small so we had to allow for some time between showers.
The property is beautiful, spread across a very large coffee plantation.
The food options were very limited. The approach road to the hotel is not the best.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the property is well maintained. The staff is very helpful and cooperative
The room rates were too high given the Christmas holidays season
We like location, scenery, views and of course food was very tasty.
Greenery, amenities, service, staff
Hello Team Aalterra Resort 🌿 I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful stay. This was my first visit to Kerala, and choosing your resort was the best decision. The cottage, nature view, calm vibes everything was perfect. All the staff members were very humble, supportive, and never rude. You guided us so well throughout. The food honestly felt like home-cooked food, which I didn’t expect at all—it was amazing. Loved every moment spent there. You all are doing a great job. Aalterra Resort, keep shining ✨
Honestly there was nothing as such I found that i didn't like .
The resort boasts a perfect location with well-maintained cottages.
Nothing in particular
The staff are friendly . The MD was very friendly and he invited us to see how they collected the coffee beans.
Robe not available . Need to provide robe in room especially which has the private pool .
Ambience
Ambience -10 Facilities -10 Family resort with full privacy Their staff were so polite and welcoming . You are definitely gonna love this place . We stayed for 2 days and we didn’t realize that 2 days got over so fast
I really want to visit the property again . This resort has everything to spend your time with but I was missing pool table .
It’s well maintained n beautiful
Greenery n cleanliness
One of the most enjoyable stays I've had in Wayand. Peaceful ambiance. The staff was friendly and the property is well-maintained.
The property itself is stunning — surrounded by lush greenery, with beautifully designed cottages and open spaces that create a calm and refreshing atmosphere. Every corner of the resort feels thoughtfully maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and nature.
The room interiors, which were stylish, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. Every detail, from the lighting to the furniture, made the room feel cozy and relaxing. The swimming pool was another highlight — well-maintained, spacious, and perfect for unwinding after a long day.
The facilities and service
The location
I had a wonderful stay at Aaltera Resort, Wayanad. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel truly welcomed. The service was excellent and well-coordinated throughout our stay. The food was delicious, with a good variety of freshly prepared dishes that catered to different tastes. The entire property, including the rooms and common areas, was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The location is perfect, surrounded by nature and offering peaceful views that make it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. The resort also offers a range of activities, from nature walks to indoor games, ensuring there’s something enjoyable for everyone. Overall, Aaltera Resort beautifully combines comfort, cleanliness, and warm hospitality — a perfect choice for anyone visiting Wayanad.
Nothing, all perfect
The location was great and the staff was very helpful and there are alot of activities to do at the resort to pass your time.
A place to relax and be energised.
Brilliant concept. Every room an independent cottage. Personalized service from the proprietors to the room attendant Wonderful breakfast even when it was just 2 of us in the hotel. Great pre-ordered food. Reasonably priced Would definitely recommend this resort to my friends & relatives
The property is built on a slope. The upper rooms are fine. The rooms at a lower level are not suitable for oldies with bad knees. A small refrigerator in the room would be a good addition
Serene, peaceful. Great food
Location
Ambiance and Outdoorsy feeling. Lovely and friendly staff. Beautiful views and pool and games area. Food at ANNAM was great.
Few cottages are down a very steep slope, could be an issue for people who have difficulty in walking. Door handles inside rooms were a finger hazard. Finger got jammed.
Everything was good including breakfast menu
Swimming pool with temperature control
Not even provided the driver stay ,but even for online Booking taken advance separately .
Food stay
Bathroom had insects
Ambiens are super food in restaurants so good
Excellent landscaping. Very good room. Resort location little distant with not so easy approach.
The restaurant had limited options and preparations were just good, and anything to remember
It was a good place with good view.Really worth to visit. I really like Ms.priya's service. As,she was very sweet & good by heart.
Laundry service was not there & they can add up more options for veg food.
Really nice room and property with ample amenities
The location was little off: 1. The turn to the hotels does not indicates where the hotel is. 2. Little far from all the key tourist spots but that is okay its hardly 20-30 min drive
Ambience
Location is too far from the main road and the roads are quite pathetic, you can’t easily go to the resort due to annoying road and the distance from the main road.
We enjoyed the Indian taste in the breakfast and the dinner. The room was clean, and the view was unforgettable.
The hot water stopped sometimes.
Everything
Since the entire resort was empty when I visited, I asked for a room in the front side of the resort, but that was denied. Wouldn’t have affected them a lot I believe. But, no hard feelings.
Very good ambience
