After moving into the room, I noticed a distinct damp and musty smell. I was told that this was due to the Khareef season, although I did not experience the same smell after changing rooms. On the second day of my stay, I also found ants on my bed, which was obviously unacceptable. I therefore had to request a room change.

All staff were excellent. The resort is nicely laid out and very accessible by walking. Breakfast is to a high standard. We ate dinner at the Club Rotana restaurant in the evenings and portions were good sizes and reasonable.

It would be nice to be able to park the car directly rather than having to continuously go via the valet. The main pool is only open from 8am till 7pm. This should be extended both earlier and later. Ants continuously find their way into the room.

The family and I had a wonderful stay at Rotana Salalah staying in a 2 bedroom plus a junior suite. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, beautifully designed and luxurious, with a very comfortable layout that makes the stay feel relaxing from the moment you arrive. What stood out most was the warm and welcoming service. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive and genuinely eager to help, which made us feel very well looked after throughout our stay. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere and excellent facilities. The combination of spacious luxurious accommodation, great hospitality and the beautiful Hawana Salalah surroundings makes Rotana an excellent choice for a relaxing stay in Salalah. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a hotel I would happily return to.

The location is convenient, and the resort itself has a nice layout with direct access to the beach and marina area.

The hotel is very outdated and worn down and, in my opinion, does not meet 5-star standards at all. The beach was not properly cleaned, with seaweed left along the shore and an unpleasant smell around the area. The restaurants inside the resort were overpriced and the food quality was disappointing, so we ended up going to the marina outside the hotel for normal meals. The soundproofing in the rooms is also very poor - we could hear almost everyone walking and talking outside. There is also very limited choice of good 5-star hotels in Salalah, especially in convenient locations, and I feel like this hotel takes advantage of that. Because of its location, many tourists simply do not have many alternatives, which may be why the standards remain so low despite the high prices.

Had a wonderful family stay at Salalah Rotana Resort. The beautiful surroundings, spacious rooms, and excellent family-friendly facilities made our stay very enjoyable. The kids especially loved the swimming pools, open spaces, and activities available at the resort. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the peaceful atmosphere was perfect for spending quality time together. Overall, a fantastic family getaway in Salalah and highly recommended!

We had such a lovely family stay at Salalah Rotana Resort and truly enjoyed every moment of it. The kids had a great time enjoying the pools, beach, and open spaces, while we loved the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place for us to relax, spend quality time together, and create some wonderful family memories. We would definitely love to come back again!

The location, resort premises, and the weather

No water drains in the toilet, so alwasy water kept flooding

The balcony had a very nice view.

The room was damp, there were traces of mould on the ceiling, it smelled horribly bad and the only way to make it bearable was to set the AC to the coldest setting which made it very uncomfortable. We did not rest well a single night there and there was nothing they could do about it because that’s what it’s like in this resort. There ventilation system has no way to warm up the room, therefore it’s either very very cold, or extremely damp and mouldy.

اول شيء مابلغونا عن مكان الألعاب المائيه للأسف وآخر يوم عرفنا موقعها وكان بعيد عن غرفتنا جداً جدا ً ثالث شيء كيف عامل النظافه يدق الجرس مرتين إذا مافرحنا يقوم يدخل علينا واحنا نايمين ثالث شيء الغرفه الي فوقنا كان فيها تصليحات وتخبيط من الصباح إلى قريب العصر واتصلت على الاستقبال وبلغتهم ان فيه ازعاج وعدم راحتنا في النوم وبلغتني سوف تهتم للأمر وماتغير اي شيء رابع شيء الشاطئ البحر مغلق خامس شيء أسعار المطاعم جداً غاليه سادس شيء ممنوع تدخل سيارات التوصيل سابع شيء طلبت يزينو الغرفه لذكرى الزواج وكان التزين جداً سيئ ثامن شيء الغرفه فيها ريحه مو كويسه واغلب المرفقات الريحه وحشه

Resort is big with a few restaurants, it has a nice big pool and it is near to a marina area with cafes.

We were bitten by bugs (in 4 different rooms) and not sure how. One staff member was rude to us, but the rest were very nice.

Great hotel for a short stay. Staff were very helpful and the facilities are good. Breakfast was buffet with a lot of choices.

You can't swim in the sea at this time of year as it's too dangerous. Not the fault of the hotel of course but this wasn't clear when I made the booking.

Location, Food & Hospitality Location, Food and hospitality. Monther at reception and Tanu from housekeeping were extremely helpful. They decorated our room and gave us a wonderful experience. We never repeat hotel stays but Salahah Rotana is an exceptional place and it was our 3rd time here in Salalah Rotona and we specially come from Dubai for the memorable stay.

We tried hard to think but there is not a single thing which was bad. I think Salalah Rotana has set high standard and they maintain that all the time.

Clean pool, clean rooms and well designed facilities. We also requested a last minute organization, a birthday cake for 18 people; the team in Saffron and Silk Road restaurants did an amazing job to accomodate our group with the cake and dinner. Especially Mr. James and Mr. Ali, I would like to thank you for your all help and organization.

A bug was in the bathroom while I was taking a shower; wrapped the bug to the foot towel and I informed the front desk about this, no action taken for 2 hours. I did have to call front desk again to get it collected. And the towels given in the pool are unfortunately not clean enough. Heavy smell and dirts.

It was a nice and relaxing holidays thanks to everyone who served us. Special thanks to buggy guys and chef and serving people as well. It was wonderful holidays.

There are something but can be ignored if you get more than that.

The room is spacious and clean, beautifully decorated. Staff are nice and professional. Easy check-in and check-out. The hotel is beautiful, with a big pool and a small one. Two restaurants one is buffet one by order, and a cafe to end the night with a nice caup of tea. Great scenery for a walk with lush green spaces and water canals. Resturant food was good.

Too expensive. The only options of a room were with free access to the water park which I didn't need. The big pool closes very early, so no chance for an evening swim. Room service isn't available so you're tied to the closing times of the resturants. The location is a bit isolated, while not far from the city there isn't a place to go to around the hotel. When I asked for an airport transfer two days before my arrival I was told they couldn't provide that service less than 72 hours before arrival. They also couldn't let me know if I was going to be able to check in early until i arrive and ask the reception (check-in is at 15:00) The door to my room couldn't be locked from the inside unless I used all my body strength to do it. The rooms are not sound proof so you can hear kids yelling at night and lawn mowers during the day.

The room was good and very near to the beach. I liked the breakfast spread and overall service. A special thank you to the biswas from the housekeeping team, who left a towel doll and a sweet note for our daughter, after she wrote to them - a small gesture that made her day and really touched us

A doormat on the patio would really be a good add to avoid carrying sand from beach from to the bedroom

Whole property is beautiful. People are amazing.

Beach access is incredible, location fantastic and food was varied enough.

- Room needed a deep clean. The floor was barely mopped; - Phone in room doesn't work for reception. It's dirty as well and appears like many hands touched it and was barely disinfected. - Pointless calling a caddy as they either don't come or arrive over 30 minutes afterwards. - It's barely green. It's all sand and few plants here and there. It could have easily invested in proper landscape but instead it kept the plants cheap and bare minimum. - the whole hotel needs a big renovation, you can tell its old and not maintained well. - AC wasn't working properly. One night it remained stuck at 24 degrees and with high humidity, it was very hot. - fan doesn't work in the room as well. - horse on beach which is used for commercial purposes was injured and I seriously hope it is taken care properly and not just used as a commercial object alone. - bed was too soft and have us back pain. It felt like cheap beds with no back support whatsoever. - beach was dirty. Plastic items were there no doubt from hotel patrons which is such a shame to destroy the environment. So, hotel should have provided proper cleaning of beach, lots of bins and monitor people for them not to destroy beautiful beach with their litter. Staff too nonchalant and not professional enough. For a busy khareef season, staff should be more proactive and hotel should employ more staff. Instead, some guys were casually walking around whilst some others are sweating from the workload. Overall, the location was fantastic especially the beach. But the hotel needs serious attention from management.

The room was spacious and impeccably clean. The atmosphere of the resort is truly beautiful, offering a serene experience as you stroll through the gardens or along the beachside.

The shower drain was blocked, causing water to flood the entire toilet area whenever someone used the shower. Also, the quality of the sleeping mattress did not meet the expected standards of a five‑star resort. Greater attention to these details is essential to ensure guest comfort and uphold the resort’s rating.

the facilities were good starting from the swimming pool, several sport fields with large areas to visit. the hotel is connected to the marina nearby with several shop and sheesha cafes and restaurants. the breakfast was decent with limited choices even though the place was full of people. i would like to thank Ali for listening and trying to fix everyday problems during breakfast. i liked the time when i checked out. (that's not a compliment)

Where to start. - Unhelpful reception: The check-in process took a long time just to sort things out. - - Rude golf cart drivers: Some drivers are incredibly rude and don't seem to comprehend that we are paying guests of the hotel, not people hailing a taxi on the street. - Chaotic dining during breakfast: A structured seating process at the restaurant simply does not exist so people try to do their job. - Poor restaurant service: The restaurant servants are the worst. One day you ask them for something standard from the kitchen (like a specific type of coffee) and get it; the next day, they claim they don't have it. - Unprofessional staff: The staff at this hotel do not take their jobs seriously and needs HUGE improvement. They do not seek to make your stay comfortable or pleasant, which is the bare minimum considering the amount of money you pay here. - Disappointing stay: I checked in here to relax but left with more stress to think about. You are supposed to be a Rotana resort—I left wondering what happened to your standards.

الغرف التي خصصت لنا كانت بعيده عن بعض ولم يتم مراعات اننا عائله صغيره واطفالي صغار في السن وبينهم طفل ذوي احتياجات وقد تم التوضيح لموظف الاستقبال وقال انه هذا المتوفر واننا سنكون قريبين من بعض لكن في الواقع الغرفة بعيده جدا عن الغرفه الأخرى مما زاد استياءنا وزاد الموضوع تعب طوال فترة الاقامه 😤 الفطور لايوجد مايناسب الاطفال اللي عندهم حساسيه من الحليب لايوجد تنوع في الإفطار بالأخص انواع الحليب الخاليه من اللاكتوز أو حليب اللوز أو الشوفان كذلك الكوفي شوب
