Nous ne sommes restés qu’une nuit mais tout s’est parfaitement déroulé. Le personnel est très agréable et au petit soin. La piscine et le cadre sont très beaux. Très bon petit déjeuner. Il est nécessaire de prendre un scooter ou un tuk tuk pour se rendre en centre ville.

Wunderschönes Resort mit tollem Pool und einer schönen Aussicht. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, es hat sich sehr familiär angefühlt. Das Essen und der Service waren ebenfalls hervorragend. Wir haben hier einen Roller gemietet um damit die Insel zu erkunden. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut fair, wir würden wieder kommen.

Mooi locatie,wel iets buiten af met scooter ben je binnen 5 min op hoofdstraat. Zeer schoon. Ieder dag wordt je kamer opgeruimd en om de dag Schone handdoeken. Eten was zeer goed. personeel zeer vriendelijk. Mooi zwembad. Goed eten.

Honnêtement je n’ai rien à redire sur cet hôtel, il est tout simplement magnifique ! Le personnel est aux petits soins, la chambre était canon, et la piscine n’en parlons pas. Un des meilleurs hôtels de ma vie !

La seule « difficulté » rencontrée est l’emplacement. Ne conduisant pas de scooter, il était plus compliqué de rejoindre le quartier principal de San Juan mais la réception a toujours trouvé des solutions en me commandant un tuktuk ou en me descendant eux mêmes sur la route principale. Si vous avez un scoot, dans ce cas 0 problème 😉

Superb stay at South Mountain Resort. A beautiful setting with faultlessly friendly service from everyone.

Not a thing not to like

Cela fait 2 fois que nous séjournons au South Mountain Resort et c est notre endroit préféré aux Philippines. Le lieu est magique, beau, calme entouré de palmiers et avec une vue spectaculaire. La piscine est top et on peut réellement nager ! Ce resort est à taille humaine donc calme, avec un restaurant au centre dont la cuisine est fabuleuse et les prix hyper raisonnables. Peter et toute son équipe sont là pour la réussite de notre séjour. En 5 minutes de scooter vous êtes au cœur de San Juan . Nous sommes tristes d être partis mais reviendrons c est sur une troisième fois .

The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and included everything we would need. We loved the large pool with amazing sunset views, but I would just recommend bringing insect repellant. The restaurant was quite big with a good menu selection and we enjoyed the food. Great location to be in a quiet, relaxing area but definitely need a bike/scooter to get around which was easy to organise through the property. Service was exceptional - everyone was very friendly and helpful.

It is a bit far of everything but we knew it.

Incredible infinity pool, great restaurant and service, even by the poolside! They had laundry services, bikes to rent, and staff were really friendly and accommodating. The bed was big and really comfy, and the accommodation was only a 10 minute scoot to the centre of San Juan.

Der beste Pool den wir auf den Philippinen gesehen haben, toller Ausblick, sehr sauber (alles). Sehr ruhig, bestens entspannen und erholen. Essen gut. Deckenventilator im Zimmer (super, um ohne Klimaanlage zu schlafen). Warmes Wasser. Insektengitter an den Fenstern.

Uns hat alles gefallen. Das Hotel ist auf einem Berg, es ist also ein bisschen außerhalb vom Ort. Wir wollten das so und haben das genossen. Die Preise sind etwas teuer, im Restaurant und das Hotel selbst. Wir haben damit aufgrund der Bewertungen vorher gerechnet.

Personel był bardzo uprzejmy, ale trochę zbyt nachalny. Wielokrotnie byliśmy pytanie o to samo np. o której wyjeżdżamy. Do rozważanie wprowadzenie tabliczek z oznaczeniami o potrzebie posprzątania lub nie przeszkadzania.

- un peu éloigné des commodités (location de scooter obligatoire pour se déplacer) à 10 minutes de la ville de San Juan.

Heel erg fijne bedden in grote kamers en een eigen woonkamer. De bungalow is gelegen in een prachtige tuin met een grandioos zwembad. Personeel is heel aardig en eten is goed.

Het is hoger op de berg gelegen, er zijn geen andere restaurants of strand op loopafstand.

Die Aussicht von hier ist sensationell, man hat hier absolut seine Ruhe. Der Pool ist auch super! Wir konnten kurzfristig umbuchen, weil wir auf Grund des Taifuns nicht auf die Insel kamen - vielen Dank noch mal hierfür. Das Personal war super und das Frühstück war richtig lecker! Die Zimmer waren richtig sauber. Es leben hier auch einige Hunde, was dem Großteil unserer Gruppe gut gefallen hat :)

If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you! Beautiful pool and delicious food! Also quick access to the center and the beaches! Super friendly staff! I highly recommend this accommodation.

Super Resort mit einer sehr schönen und gepflegten Anlage. Der Infinity Pool ist klar ein Highlight bei der Poolanlage. Der Chef und das Personal sind sehr freundlich und erfüllen jeden Wunsch. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Bei der Anfahrt mit dem Roller sollte man aufpassen, weil die letzten 100 Meter sind sehr holprig. Die Straße ist hier nur mit Schotter und Wasserläufer geprägt.

Très bel hôtel, dans un parc magnifique. Piscine très agréable, assez longue pour nager, dans un environnement somptueux. Bungalows très calmes et confortables. Personnel très sympathique, attentionné et efficace. Très bon restaurant (Tuko), qui propose une carte variée, pour les petits déjeuners comme pour les repas, dans une très belle salle ouverte sur le jardin. Nous avons adoré notre séjour ici. Nous avons testé le restaurant le 1er jour et y sommes revenus tous les soirs !

La route pour descendre à San Juan est en très mauvais état sur quelques portions, espérons qu'elle soit rapidement mise en état ! C est d'autant plus dommage que le bord de mer est pourtant tout près. L'emplacement à 150 mètres d'altitude au-dessus de San Juan est parfait, il manque juste un accès plus confortable.

Me and my partner absolutely loved this hotel. The staff and owners were so friendly, the food was fantastic and the view and pool area.. wow! The rooms are really clean and it’s a quiet secluded spot, but within 5 minutes of the main town on a moped so it really does offer everything you could wish for. Great value for money, thank you x10 for a beautiful stay!

Such a beautiful resort nestled in the mountain which offers beautiful sunsets most evenings. The pool is amazing with plenty of sun loungers. The restaurant on site is beautiful with a wide range of food options to suit everyone’s taste. The staff are amazing and incredibly helpful from the reception staff to the restaurant staff and the maintenance team everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful.

If you are planning on staying here ensure you can ride a scooter. It is roughly a 20 minute tuktuk along a very bumpy road and the prices of transport adds up if you can’t drive a scooter. The resort has them to rent onsite which is very helpful.

Up a huge hill and nothing in walking distance

The swimming pool is outstanding and the views are incredible.

- The rooms are very basic and not per se clean, there are food smells and the bathroom smells. - We had a suspicion of bed bugs. The staff was kind enough to allow us to change rooms after we asked for it. Other than that they seemed not to take any further action: no checking of the bed, no additional cleaning actions and no help with regards to cleaning all clothes / bags to prevent spreading. - Staff service is below par: we rented a scooter but at arrival it wasn’t arranged, the scooter was outdated and it came with horse riding / mountain bike helmets, they overcharge for transport (750 PHP to the port, where we arranged it with little negotiation there for 400 PHP). - There are several reviews mentioning crows attacking themselves in the mirroring of the windows. This happened every morning in the two rooms we stayed at around 06.00 in the morning. - I would recommend the hotel to invest in cleanliness and service of the staff, addressing customer concerns to turn this around. The place in itself with the views and swimming pool have huge potential.

Very quietly located, with nice views over the ocean. In the morning you just hear the birds, no dogs or roosters crying. The pillows on the bed are amazing. Great food in the restaurant. Some very friendly dogs. The best pool we had in all of The Philippines.

We were prepared and rented a scooter on arrival in the harbour since some trike drivers are not willing to bring you up the steep mountain road. So it was not a thing for us, but be aware of this.

I liked absolutely everything about South Mountain Resort. We -- a middle aged couple -- stayed for 5 days in one of the less expensive rooms -- and even while less expensive, it was very comfortable, with good water pressure, an almost too-efficient air conditioner, comfortable bed, and small terrace to enjoy an evening cocktail on. The palm tree heavy property sits slightly inland and up the hill -- maybe a kilometer or so -- so it's remote from the hubbub of San Juan, where there's considerable activity due to the two premier snorkeling destinations there. I'd advise you to rent a motorbike if you stay at the Resort, or find yourself a tuk-tuk driver to have on call. If you opt for a motorbike, Peter South Mountain's proprietor has them and maintains them properly right on the property: renting here is a far better option than renting one at the port... We had breakfast off the menu, and it was scrumptious and plentiful... But what I liked best was the staff: they were sensational. That they were helpful in every way is an understatement. I got to know Peter, the owner: he's a gentleman and is one of those rare people to whom I took an immediate liking. I say this because the staff was smiling and happy all the time: the place has a joyful sense to it, and I think this stems from having a really fine boss, Peter, who treats the help like family... In all, South Mountain Resort is a relaxing, tropical delight to stay for a few days, or a few weeks or... I hated to leave. But, to quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"

It was such a great place for our family to stay! It was so relaxed and the rooms and pool were amazing. We love animals so we’re so pleased to see they had very friendly dogs and even more pleased when a little very clean and friendly cat chose to come and stay with us (at our invite). It was just so loverly we felt right at home and really enjoyed spending time there. The breakfast was great, such good bread! The room was very spacious and we had all the facilities we needed. (If you like cats then this little ginger one is so clean and friendly and will stay in your room if you want, we really miss her)

We received a great upgrade of our room upon arrival, which was amazing. Fantastic swimming pool and staff was very helpful and nice to everyone. Big compliment to Kiem en Jed for taking such good care of us, they are everything what makes a stay comfortable and special.

The location looks amazing but you really need a scooter to get around in San Juan. The hygiene in the bathroom (especially the shower) could have been better.

The resort was fantastic! Peter, his wife, and staff have created a wonderful place to stay whilst in Siquijor. Jed was possibly the most gracious, helpful host we've ever encountered anywhere in our travels! They could not do enough for us. Just an absolutely brilliant 3 night stay.

As far as resorts go in terms of value for money I would place South Mountain at the top. Ive travelled to most destinations within the Philippines and I found that careful consideration was given to staff training. The food is of a high standard, real butter, cheese, we had home made rye bread. Will go back keep up the good work guys!

there's not enough stars to give this place! such an enjoyable stay from start to finish. the owner Peter was very nice and welcoming. the staff were exceptional. Kiem especially was such a lovely person . I would highly recommend this place, lovely sunset view from the pool every evening. the level of cleanliness was excellent also! the most enjoyable stay we have had so far on our 5 months travelling! the food in the restaurant also was so fresh! we ate there everyday during our stay .

the place was beautiful, clean and the stuff were friendly and kind. the owner was kind and helpful. he helped us with early check-in. Everybody there was so nice! I want to spaciel mention the cleaning lady, I think her name is Maria, she did a perfect job!

if I have to to complain about something, I wish he had a fan for the balcony or chairs to the inside of the room. but just it. also the location is up a hill and some part of the road is broken, I didn't mind, but it could if you are not experienced rider that might be a thing, but it really isn't.

The restaurant was phenomenal, the staff was exceptional, the room was very peaceful, you get your own little bungalow. With your own keys to your home. The private pool was so refreshing and gorgeous. I enjoyed everything about the stay. They even rented us scooters so we could travel the island

The place was beautiful, we got the family room which had 2 bedrooms and our 3 little kids managed to sleep in the extra big bed. The kitchen was nicely equipped which let us cook some meals when we didn't want to go out. The hotel restaurant was good too and we managed to find kids-friendly food too (not always doable on our trip). There are 9 cute dogs in the hotel which we got to know and the kids got to take part in the daily fish-feeding activity too :) The swimming pool is beautiful and we had it entirely for ourselves throughout our stay, with a little bridge the kids loved jumping from. I also enjoyed swimming under the stars one evening - gorgeous! The staff is very friendly and the owner does above and beyond for guests to feel at home and is always thinking of ways to improve the place. He even helped us tow the car when I stupidly went into a no-car road and got stuck... Location is close to the nearby village which was very convenient with a car for different attractions as well as restaurants / cafes etc. Anyone looking for a place in Siquijor - this is it!

If you don't have a car it might be trickier, we haven't tried so not sure. With a car there are also parts of the road from the village to the hotel that are more difficult to drive, but we managed and drove every day.

Hosts were amazing can’t put it into words there was a storm and they were meant to be closed and had no staff and they called people in to accommodate us and were the most amazing people you could imagine I would definitely recommend.

Nice stay, friendly staff . Originally booked the Seaview room extremely tiny and not comfortable for 2 people to fit. Hotel upgraded to a villa highly recommended very nice and comfortable for a couple stay. View is quite obstructed due to so many trees but is quite lovely to stay . Overall good stay . Book a villa room not the standard room .

Road up to property is very dangerous. Do not book this unless you are very experienced with motorcycles. Very bad road, steep and needs attention.

Beautiful family-owned hotel. You can tell that the owners put a lot of care and thought into it. Pictures and description are accurate. We were comfortable and happy. The staff was wonderful, especially Ronald who was very sweet ! Big up to him and the rest of the staff.

We loved our stay here - the bungalows were clean & modern and the pool was amazing. The location was also great, just up from the main restaurants & shops so it always felt chilled. Also one of the best sunset spots on the island! Staff were also lovely.

In general we felt like everything was a little bit more expensive booking through the hotel than elsewhere (ie motorbike, transfer)

The staff were lovely, very polite and accommodating. The villa is very spacious, it has its' own kitchen with complete amenities and the villa has ample space for our large luggage. When not cooking, we ate at the restaurant. Food was great and reasonably priced. Internet in the resort was fast - at the villas, restaurant and even at the pool. Pool was so lovely, we took a swim almost every day considering the warm weather in the Philippines. It was so peaceful and quiet in the resort, a perfect place to rest and unwind.

Mobile phone connection was not good, there might not be any nearby cell site. But you can just use the internet instead.

South Mountain Resort was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay and couldn’t have asked for more help. The pool was stunning and the rooms were modern. A lot of effort and care has been given to maintaining these to a high standard and it shows. Peter (the owner) is super friendly and dropped us at the ferry port after our stay had ended. Special shoutout to Jed. Would recommend!

Not so much a ‘didn’t like’ but it is on a hillside without full tarmac roads. You’d need to be familiar with a scooter and take your time getting up and down, otherwise rely on tricycles. Absolutely worth it though.

Set in the highland which was very serene and relaxing. Great pool for chilling at end of day plus good cocktails at bar. Room was large and comfortable.

Just be aware that it is not walking distance to other resto or bars, which was good for us, so you will need to hire a motor bike or book a car.

It looks so much better on the photos than in reality - the hotel itself pretty old from the 90s and it looks they haven’t put a lot of effort to renovate it. The place is quite far from the main beach resorts so you def need taxis or rent car/motorbikes. We loved the people but the rooms were not very worth for the money we paid. The food in the restaurant was also pretty average, we tried once but didn’t eat again.

Absolutely everything!

We had an amazing experience at South Mountain. First off we decided not to get the transfer offered by the accom. However as the port we were arriving to changed we were now further away. When we arrived there company vehicles were there waiting to pick up some other guests. The owners kindly allowed us to get the transfer as we would have been stuck. Speaks volumes about the type of owners they are. The accommodation from the facilities to the pool and to the staff were amazing. The staff were so friendly and kind and would go above and beyond. A particular shout out to Jed who was an absolute legend. Don’t think twice about booking this place as the owners are fantastic people who genuinely have your best interest in mind.
