Kalipay Resort Siargao

They upgraded our room to Superior King. Very nice room with excellent garden view and access to the pool right beside the room. We were greeted with complimentary cold fresh coconut drink with Kalipay Resort name etched on it. The room was clean, elegant and very comfortable. Bathroom was very clean with plenty of space. Nice sumptuous complimentary breakfast with nearby partner restaurants. The best part for me is the way they provided free use of basic items such as umbrella, thermal water bottles, bayong (large traditional woven bags). Simple but very thoughtful. There is a nice garden by the pool. Excellent view for night swim.

There are few insects and mosquitoes during the night. A little pest management control can help. It didn't really bother us tbh.

The staff, especially Marie and Kim, are extremely helpfull. They helped with everything we asked. Also we would like to mention the room attendants who maintained our room perfectly. The rest of the personal was very helpfull too. The garden and swimming pools are perfectly maintained. The location is quiet, what we were looking for. If you are looking for a quiet place, cozy room and very helpfull staff this is perfectly for you.

Has a lovely experience at Kalipay from the start. We received an upgrade to the studio room which was spacious and inclded a big deck to hang out overlooking the manicured tropical garden surroundings. Contains two beautfiul pools which we made use of. The location of Kalipay is is ideal - it's close by to restaurants who are some of the best on the Island. It's also far enough from Cloud 9 and General Luna so it's a calm, quiet spot but also a few minutes to both on the scooter. Definately a step up in terms of quality and service than I normally am used to.

Location was great. Short tuk tuk ride to Cloud 9 and restaurants. Staff was even better. The A/C did not work in one of the two suites we booked. The staff replaced with two single rooms which was great. We also booked an island tour, land tour, massages, and airport transfers through the hotel which was reasonably priced and very easy to book.

The property itself is beautiful. Structurally speaking, it is modern looking. Our room ( de luxe) is spacious yet gives a very cozy feeling. The courtyard is very well maintained and has many exotic looking plants. We actually became friends with the in-house gardener Jonel who excitedly shared his knowledge of the plants growing in the property and the landscape.

There’s nothing to dislike about the property.

Crappy shower, lots of mosquitos, everything dated.. No bar or pool bar.. No one asked if everything is OK.. For 100€ a night you can find awesome place with better facilities in the area. All resort is pocket size beside main Tourist road.

I love how sustainable they are. The water, the drink bottles they provide, a carry bag & they recycle better than we do in Australia. Oh & the bikes are great. Staff really helpful

Spacious and clean rooms, a beautiful pool and garden area and the friendliest staff! We enjoyed our stay at Kalipay a lot and would love to come back some day.

The hotel was clean and very spacious. The staff were very professional, helpful, and friendly. The location was very good, close to both the beach and the city.

A downside was that the hotel did not have its own restaurant, and their partner restaurant (Hapiness) was not very good. Inside the restaurant, an unpleasant smell from the toilets could be noticed. In addition, the restaurant staff were rude and indifferent. Several ingredients in the dishes were unavailable, and this was not mentioned before ordering but only after the food was brought to the table, when we asked about it.

I felt so at home at Kalipay. I stayed for over a week with my husband and two young children and we weren’t ready to leave. The room was spacious and comfortable . All the staff were so helpful and friendly. The pool was so nice and deep and clean and the grounds were beautiful.

The King Suite was spacious, beautifully designed with modern amenities, and offered a peaceful balcony perfect for unwinding. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the heartfelt service: from host Kim’s warm hospitality to the attentive nighttime security guard, every member of the team treated me like a welcomed guest. The resort itself felt like a tranquil escape from the lush garden and pristine pool created a calm oasis. Everything felt impeccably maintained and relaxing.

If I had to mention something, was that breakfast wasn’t included though that didn’t detract much from the overall enjoyment.

We had a wonderful stay at Kalipay. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff is kind and always ready to help, making you feel at home at any time. They truly share the positive vibes of Siargao, making the whole experience special. Highly recommended

Our stay at Kalipay Resort exceeded expectations! The facilities were excellent and extremely comfortable, making it a perfect spot to relax. The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. They even made sure we knew the correct price before taking a tuktuk so we wouldn’t get scammed, which we really appreciated. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was fantastic and gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and beaches to explore. We loved our room, while it was a bit far from the main area, there were plenty of shops and places to explore within walking distance. Renting a motorcycle is definitely recommended to get around easily. We stayed 4 nights and 5 days, and honestly, we wished we could have stayed even longer!

The only minor downside was that the toilet occasionally had a slight sewage-like smell, but it didn’t affect our overall experience at all.

The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable with wonderful native accents. Towels (for bath and beach) and water (and water thermos) were readily available. The bed was firm which we liked. The garden was nice. The care given to the details was evident. Kalipay was close to everything - good breakfast places a few minutes’ walk away and all major restos via walk or tuktuk, cloud 9 etc The staff were very helpful in making arrangements for tours and giving advice about things to do.

The lighting in the suites (living room area) was a bit dim.

Unmatched hospitality and amazing value! Grabe, I was so impressed with the hospitality here! From the moment I checked in, I felt truly taken care of. They welcomed me with fresh buko juice, and every little detail was thoughtfully provided — beach towel, umbrella, drying rack, bayong bag, free water, hair dryer, smart TV with Netflix, a nice balcony, food in the fridge, a comfy sofa, and a very nice pool. Ang dami talaga! What really stood out for me was the value for money. I’ve stayed at other hotels where similar amenities cost up to ₱26K, but here, I got a Luxury Room for just around ₱5K — and it didn’t feel like they were overcharging at all. I’ll definitely recommend this place again and again. And yes, I’m planning to return here on my last night in Siargao!

NOTHING! I repeat, there is NOT a thing I didn't like about Kalipay. Just a comment though, I really hope they'll have a simpler room for solo travellers. Nakakalungkot naman kasi kung mag isa mo lang talaga tapos napakalaki ng room mo. Ano gagawin ko sa loob? Magtumbling tumbling mag isa? Hahahaha.

They had the most helpful staff. They responded to inquiries and requests within an hour or so after hours and almost immediately during business hours. The laundry service was not marked up outrageously like most hotels and resorts.

It’s perfect for the price

It's at a great location - a couple of minutes of scooter ride to all restaurants and beach. It was nice and quiet in the room, the interior yard is very beautiful - the current pictures don't do it justice. Wifi is one of the fastest I've experienced in Asia (Starlink 250mbps). The room is not fancy but it's clean and was spacious. Reception and customer service was always fast and very friendly (I don't know why people have complained about this). If you feel the bed is too hard, they provide an extra mattress topper to soften the bed. They have a restaurant attached to the Hotel which makes it very convenient to get a drink or coffee whenever you feel like it. They also have a scooter rental attached to the hotel with very decent pricing - so it's very easy and fast to get yourself set up and go exploring.

The cleaning detergents leave a very strong smell in the room and it attaches to clothes as well so we had to wash all our clothes (even clean ones) at home again to get rid of the smell.

The staff were WONDERFUL. Debbie and Jen helped to organise a little surprise for my girlfriend's birthday there and were always available for any enquiries (salamat!). The location was also great - close to everything and yet quiet within the room. The room itself was spacious and clean and the air conditioning and internet worked great. The pool area was lovely to relax at and was never busy.

It is extremely hard to justify the price. You are paying the same rate you would pay for a night in Europe (approx 100€ for a night) and it doesn't at all match the cost of living in the area. For the price you would at least expect breakfast to be included and for it to have other facilities besides a pool. Also, the listing mentioned it was possible to cook in the room but there was no stovetop available so unless you're making cup noodles you won't be doing a lot of cooking.

We loved our stay at Kalipay! We didn’t like the hostel we were staying in so decided to leave early and book a night at Kalipay and we are SO glad we did! The staff are so friendly and were the highlight of our stay. They were very attentive and happy to help us. It was my birthday and so they prepared our room with balloons and a happy birthday banner which was a lovely surprise, and at such short notice too! The hotel is very clean, and has all the amenities you’d need. I was particularly impressed with the big filtered water dispenser within the room itself, and being able to order room service from the restaurant. The pool is also a great addition, kept very clean as well.

Pretty much everything! The staff was amazing, always on top of everything and if we needed something it was very easy to get or talk to about getting. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a nice bathroom with bidet and the pool was in a charming location that we definitely took advantage of. Our only complaint was that we had booked days at a different location, if we could go back in time we would have just stayed here!

The only thing we could complain about and that would be looking for something is that we didn’t feel like the attached restaurant was worth the price with such good and cheaper options nearby. It was still very tasty and the 20% off was appreciated!

The location is excellent and the front office staff - Debbie, Jenny and Lilit - were really helpful with advice and arranging trips. The resort is clean and tidy and the rooms had everything one needs. I would definitely stay here again. It was good value for money.

No view of the sea..pool was open only till 8pm, not open for late night swim. No toothpaste and toothbrush, no complimentary coffee. Sound of tv though loud enough but not clear. Channel selection for movies were very limited. Netflix was not available.

They are not accommodating. They don't have extra bed. They will charge you extra 3% if you pay w/ credit card but it's against the LAW. I know it so they waived it.

Front office was very helpful in providing whatever services you needed. Made everything very convenient so you can enjoy your stay. Not really walking distance from the main General Luna street where all the action really is but definitely in the middle of a tutu ride from the beach or entertainment center. Perfect for those who like their peace and quiet away from the noise and crowd. Still everything is walkable if you don't mind walking a good15 or 20 minutes in either direction to get to where you want to go. Catching a tutu ride to go anywhere is very simple because they're right outside.

Everything there is pricey so expect to pay more then your average local pesos. Watch out for those coin scams at the beaches selling beads. Got me fooled

Great location, away from the hustle and bustle. The room was like a studio apartment, which was great! The staff were the nicest people on the island, who all went above and beyond.

First time visiting siargao and the staff were super lovely and attentive the moment we arrived, made my birthday extra special too. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Resort was very close to other restaurants and cloud 9. Staff were helpful with organising tours, renting bikes, laundry and airport transfers. WiFi works really well too. There is a booklet in our room which was super helpful with handy tips and information, I appreciate fine details like this for guests who stay. Overall I'm very happy I did my research and trusted my gut to book a room with Kalipay. I would love to come back here and stay for our next visit to Siargao. Thank you Kalipay!

We had a great time during our 4 night stays in this resort. The location is great. You can access the beach through a neighbour hotel. Cloud9 is at a less than 5-minute motorbike ride The staff were all very helpful and smiling. Giggsy the Jack Russell is a plus ! Ahah The room is spacious, clean, and all amenities are provided in the room. The warm pool is a big plus as well. Food at the hotel restaurant is also good, nevertheless a little bit pricier than other restaurants around. We would highly recommend going there and would go back if visiting Siargao in the future.

Staff and service were great. Usually the pictures on Booking are better than the reality, but here it was the other way around. We were all pleasantly surprised at how well maintained this resort is. Kalipay Resort is a small (12 apartments) but fine oasis.

Kalipay Resort exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and very clean. Jen, Zel, Lilit and the rest of the staff were very warm and welcoming. There is a restaurant, which serves excellent food at a fair price. We have found a new home in Kalipay and we are sure to come back here.

Everything, staff were friendly, property was well equipped and clean with a beautiful pool.

The rooms were spacious and tidy. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Ms. Lilith took care of us right from our arrival at the airport down to hiring a "tuktuk" and so with my problems with the airline. The resort is quiet and relaxing.

The location is quite far from the main tourist area and restaurants.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 8 nights, and so I think we are well placed to give a good overview. Overall, we were really happy with our stay here for the Siargao leg of our trip. So for the positives, we noted the following: * While the place is a small boutique hotel with a small footprint, the garden and pool area are lovely and well maintained by the staff. It is a quiet oasis from the noise of the road. * The staff were all great from start to finish. Zel and team were very helpful. The night guy Mao Tao (probably got the name wrong) was great too. The communication initially via bolkigg by and then via WhatsApp was really good and responsive. * The rooms are big and have a nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool and it is super chill. * You can rent your scooter at the property (a necessity really), which was handy. * Fresh milk in the fridge for teas was a nice touch, especially for Europeans who do not like the American/Asian culture of creamer in coffee/tea instead of milk. * The big water dispenser was great for filling bottles. All places should have this to reduce single use bottles provided in rooms. * The efforts to be environmentally friendly/sustainable are good. The bins are divided into recyclable, residual and compost waste. We just wondered what happens this waste once the authorities take it. authorities take it. I.e. is there any infrastructure on the island yet to process recycling or is it still just burned or used in landfill? * The water flasks are a brilliant idea for cutting down on plastic bottle use. They are handy for filling and bringing to the beach or out and about with you. They also keep the water chilled all day. Great initiative. * The beach/pool towels are really nice and handy. They are replaced each day and always fresh and fluffy.

Below are a few areas we believe could be taken into consideration by the owner for improvement: * Given that the accommodation is actually quite a walk from where most of the action is (either north to Cloud 9 area or south towards the town), and they position their price point as the same as a resort like Bravo, which is in the town and along the beach, with similar room standard and a much bigger resort feel, we reckon that breakfast should be included in the price here for it to be well priced for what it is. * You can walk to GL and to Cloud 9. It is nice once or twice but gets frustrating so you will need to rent a bicycle or scooter each day realistically for exploring. * Booking things like trips/laundry/bikes through Kalipay is actually quite a bit more expensive for the convenience. We did it with the scooter and for laundry, but their commission is about 30% on everything, so just be aware that if you are willing to do the research/leg work, you can save a good bit using the services directly outside. * The Kalipay café is actually really nice and chill and we got breakfast and coffees there a couple of times. However, the prices for us were almost as expensive as Ireland, which is such an expensive country even by European standards. The Gelato station is the same expensive prices. Everyone in Siargao charges an absolute premium for things tourists love like gelatos, sun cream and coffees, but the the relative cost of these items relative to things like food and transport etc is exhorbitant. Kalipay is no exception. * No coffee or shower gel provided in the rooms which is unusual, as everywhere we stayed, these were basics that were provided. A bar of soap is provided instead of shower gel, which is ok but would be nice to have the choice. * Though you know when booking, that Kalipay has a policy of an 11am check to out, it is very unusual and seems completely unnecessary for such a small hotel. 12 pm is a global standard for check...

The room was so big, the beds were comfortable, they gave us the villa four which is fronting directly to the pool. A very serene place perfect for relaxation.
