Buena ubicación para un par de días en ella si haces muchos planes durante el día, a 5 min caminando del centro pero sin el ruido de la calle principal. Habitaciones amplias con balcón y magníficas vistas desde todo el hotel. Desayuno ok.

A mejorar la limpieza del baño y suelo de la habitación, tuvo unas manchas pegostosas desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos. Personal de recepción amable, pero poco cercano y de poca ayuda para gestionar planes (alquiler de moto, indicaciones para paseos etc)

The location was great, with fantastic views of the rock. Breakfast choices were both Western and Sri Lankan food. Staff made an excellent cafe latte on request. The hotel was located a short walk (or tuk-tuk ride) to the centre of town.

Pricier for what you’re getting

Everything was absolutely perfect! We spent two wonderful and quiet nights completely away from the hustle and bustle of the city, beautifully hidden among the trees. It was exactly the peaceful getaway we wanted. The entire staff is incredibly hardworking and dedicated. The reception team went above and beyond-when I asked for a hair comb and they didn't have one, they actually went out and bought one just for me! I also still remember Eshan, who provided outstanding service, always with a genuine and warm smile. On top of that, the housekeeping team was phenomenal, delivering a standard of service that made us feel like we were staying at a top 5-star hotel. If you are planning a trip to Ella, I highly recommend this place

The restaurant definitely needs a major upgrade, though considering the surrounding area and the town's options, it is acceptable. On our first night, I ordered the curry for dinner, and it was excellent. However, on the second night, I ordered a pizza, which was highly disappointing-it tasted like a frozen, reheated pizza and was definitely not worth the price

We had a wonderful stay in Ella and one of the highlights was the exceptional service provided by two amazing staff members ashan and waruna . From the moment we arrived until the day we left, they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, memorable and stress-free. Their kindness, professionalism and genuine care made us feel truly welcomed and well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always ready to help with a smile. The level of hospitality we experienced was outstanding and made our trip even more special. A heartfelt thank you to both of them for making our stay so enjoyable. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ella and look forward to returning in the future!

I stayed three nights in this hotel and had a wonderful time. I had a room with a balcony that oversees the forest. Every morning, Monkeys came to my balcony to play, it was like a dream. Loved the breakfast in this hotel. You go upstairs to the last floor in which, you'd have a wonderful view over the mountains, and the staff prepare for you whatever you want. I spent every day going for hiking in the mountains and then I go back to the lovely pool where the water is so cool and refreshing. I would absolutely go back to this hotel if I visited Ella again.

Breakfast buffet could have been better

We chose HIDE Ella for our honeymoon based on its reputation for high standards, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. While your staff members were consistently friendly and welcoming, the overall quality of the facilities and service fell short of a premium hotel experience. Specifically, the room felt quite basic for the price point. More importantly, we dealt with broken lighting and a shower that overflowed almost immediately, which was both inconvenient and a safety concern. On one occasion, the breakfast buffet was cold, which was disappointing for a high-end establishment. The pool area was consistently untidy and appeared neglected. We also noticed a lack of staff presence in this area to assist guests or maintain the space. We had hoped for a seamless and special stay to celebrate our marriage, but the poor standard of the property left us feeling very disappointed.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est vraiment top notamment pour accéder à la ville à pied. La chambre était correcte et la literie aussi. La vue de la chambre était jolie. Le personnel était gentil et serviable.

Le petit déjeuner est un peu limité. Dommage qu’ils ne proposent pas un service de tuk tuk notamment à l’arrivée et au départ lorsqu’on a les bagages. Il est vrai que l’hôtel reste cher pour les prestations proposées. Petit manque d’insonorisation des chambres.

This hotel is amazing! The views alone are breath-taking. Although only 5 minutes from the main street, it was so quiet here. The pool and amenities were so clean, and the AC was so strong. Everyone here was so nice and welcoming, and went out of their way to help us with any queries. The kitchen and bar staff were so friendly, and the food was amazing. Especially breakfast. Would definitely recommend and come back.

I enjoyed the view from our room and the cleanliness of the whole hotel. There is someone at the front desk 24/7 who was ready to help with whatever we need. The food and drinks were great, and the pool was incredible along with the hot-tub!

only good thing about this hotel is the view. I also appreciated the staff serving us breakfast and dinner as they were very nice and accommodating but that is about it. The front desk staff and manager was appalling and very rude.

This hotel is an absolute scam - save your money and don't book here. Lots of other hotels in Ella that are worth your money. I have stayed in over 10 different hotels in different parts of Sri Lanka, this was by far the worst and the worst service. Rude staff. I never experienced this in the rest of Sri Lanka. The only thing you're paying for in this hotel is the view and that is it. It is also difficult to get to the hotel as it is on a large hill so be wary of that. We were actually the only guests and one other family staying at this hotel and they couldn't even manage to look after us! There were quite a few things wrong with our stay: - The bedsheets had a visible and fresh bloodstain — a completely unhygienic and unacceptable condition. Housekeeping and hotel staff tried to blame us for this. - There are signs placed all around the hotel saying this hotel releases its sewage into the nearby lake and this is causing villagers to have diseases. I absolutely believe this sign and if I had known about this before, I would never have booked this hotel. - The shower floor and towels were dirty. - All soap dispensers were mislabelled, causing confusion and incorrect use. - Despite informing the hotel weeks in advance, no arrangements were made for our strict vegetarian dietary requirements on the first morning. - There was visible dust on the bedside cabinets, despite my severe dust allergy and repeated reminders in advance. - The Wi-Fi was not working, which added to the inconvenience. Service throughout has been extremely slow, and the staff’s nonchalant, dismissive attitude when issues were raised only made matters worse. The hotel tried to compensate us by giving complimentary 1 dinner and 1 vegetarian breakfast. I honestly would have left this hotel after the first night as I did not get any sleep at all and just felt so unsafe.

במלון הזה מקבלים רק כרטיס אחד לחדר, בשום מקום שישנתי בו בעולם לא קיבלתי כרטיס אחד לחדר לשני אנשים. קרה ובטעות איבדנו את הכרטיס, ולכן הם חייבו אותנו ב 3000 רופי, זה היה מעצבן ומאכזב מאוד. בנוסף בארוחת בוקר מגיע קפה בסיסי בלבד , ואם רוצים למשל הפוך או קפוצינו אז צריך להוסיף כסף - זה מוזר וחריג כאשר מדובר במלון שנחשב יוקרתי.

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise. The location gave spectacular views and the room was exactly per the pictures online. The steam room and sauna were really clean and available all day. The staff were amazing even inviting me to help mix the traditional Christmas cake mixture with the chefs and staff which was super fun.

There wasn't anything I didn't enjoy or like about this hotel.

The staff and service is excellent and could not fault them, Breakfast is very good and extensive, and the views are amazing from the hotel. The rooms are clean.

I would not rate this a 4* hotel and it is totally overpriced. I really felt cheated by the price paid (c£300/night) is extortionate for the experience. The shower was blocked (but was fixed quickly once flagged), the shower leaked all over the bathroom, the rooms are very small, and the location is quite difficult if travelling with a baby or eldery people. The wifi is also poor. If this was a reasonably priced hotel, all the the above would be acceptable but at £300/night my expectations are much much higher - it was by far the most expensive place we stayed in the whole of Sri Lanka but sadly the experience overall was far better in other hotels.

Ein schönes Hotel in sehr guter Lage. Das Hotel befindet sich nur wenige Gehminuten von der Hauptstrasse entfernt, trotzdem fühlt man sich fern ab vom Trubel und kann die Ruhe und die Natur geniessen. Aussergewöhnliche Aussicht. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Rooms and property needs a bit of love - no atmosphere and lots of renovation noise and electrical wiring around the place Felt very expensive compared to 5 star hotels we stayed in in other parts of Sri Lanka, but I think this is the price of the region. Aside from the spectacular view, you might be better off going to a budget hotel or splashing fully on a more expensive place. This price didn’t feel quite worth it.

El hotel es precioso y dispone de los servicios necesarios para pasar una o dos noches en Ella. El personal es encantador y el desayuno fue increíble! Estuvimos muy a gusto!

Situato a pochi passi dalla via principale di Ella, nel silenzio e lontano dalla confusione, su una collina alla quale si accede tramite una salita piuttosto ripida, ma che i tuk tuk riescono a fare tranquillamente. Gode di una vista fantastica sulle colline circostanti, ben visibili sia dalla terrazza che dal ristorante. Le stanze invece sono per lo più situate più in basso, per cui non tutte godono di un’ottima vista. Lo staff è molto gentile e disponibile, soprattutto il manager, e le stanze sono pulite.

Il fatto che non tutte le camere godano della vista non vale il prezzo del soggiorno, decisamente troppo elevato rispetto alla media. Le stanze sono piuttosto piccole e nel mio caso non disponevano di shampoo, balsamo e crema corpo, che non sono neanche stati ricaricati al momento della sistemazione giornaliera. A parte la splendida vista, non offre nulla di più degli altri alberghi della città.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön. Der Ausblick aus den Zimmern ist genial. Das Personal ist super nett und war sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück-Buffet hat alles was man sich wünscht. Die Lage ist ebenfalls super, maximal 5 Minuten zu Fuss und man ist Mitten in der Stadt, trotzdem ist es schön ruhig in der Nacht. Wir würden es definitiv weiterempfehlen

The staff were impeccable. I cannot thank them enough for their attentive service and hospitality. Food was amazing! Highly recommend their breakfast.

Access. A bit tough to get through with our vehicle but the hotel provided one and picked us and our baggage up from the main road. They’ll arrange the tuk tuk when needed.

While the staff were very hospitable, I found that the food and other amenities did not meet the standard expected for the price charged for a one-night stay.

The property is very modern and clean. The room had an amazing view of the mountain and the staff were very polite and ready to help with anything we needed.

Perhaps a bit pricey. There was an amazing terrace/veranda overlooking the mountain but there were no lights on during the night if you wanted to sit and have dinner there

The view from the hotel was absolutely spectacular. It was beautiful sitting in the restaurant having breakfast and dinner looking at the mountain view. The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff there were friendly and efficient. Our room was small compared to the other hotels we stayed in, but this is a boutique style hotel. There is a long hilly narrow road up to the hotel which stopped us walking down into town which was a shame. We relied on our driver to take us out and sometimes a tuk tuk back up the hill. There are lots of restaurants and bars in town and we went to a fantastic modern pool club - Ravana Pool Club - which is worth a visit for pool, scenery, music and food. We loved Ella.

The long hill up to the hotel. Rooms are small. Our room with a view of Ella Rock had a big tree outside mostly blocking our view. We did have a balcony but our friends did not. Hotel is expensive.

It is advertised as a 4 star hotel but feels like that was the case when it was first built but has just been left since. Many elements of the room were very tired, worn or stained. There was exposed wiring all over and the TV was barely hanging to to the wall. The staff were helpful to a point but were unable to provide simple things like set Tuk Tuk trip prices for specific locations or help you talk with the driver who was their preferred choice. It was also up a steep hill on a badly lit road (hence the great view) but t made it hard to get too or from without a vehicle.

Just got back from the most incredible stay at Hide Ella Resort, and I’m already missing it! The views were absolutely breathtaking – waking up to those misty hills felt like a dream. The food was super delicious, fresh, and full of flavor – every meal was a treat. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The staff were warm, helpful, and always had a smile on their faces. A big shoutout to Janath, the manager – he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Our room had a hot tub with a view that’s hard to put into words – it was pure bliss to relax there while soaking in the scenery. If you're heading to Ella and want a place that’s peaceful, scenic, and super comfortable, this is it!

Room being located on the 5th floor - same floor has pool and game area, noisy, and pool showers were right beside our balcony. Ask for a room on any floor but the 5th Pool too cold Kind of overpriced especially given the low/in-between season

The room could have been cleaner. We booked the half board option and dinner was not amazing. Soup was not good and once the chicken was dry and not really eatable. The second time we asked for pasta and it was very basic and not nice. We hoped to have local traditional food which was not available.

Service not too good. We needed some money change for Tuktuk and did not get any help. We had to go to restaurant next to the hotel to change our money. One guy at reception was very friendly though. Food at dinner was poor quality. Electricity problems many times but due to location. Cold swimming pool.

Insanely overpriced and environment issues!!! We spent two days at the Hide Ella Hotel and I’m honestly ashamed to have paid so much money for this place. This wasn’t because of the staff—they were always friendly—but rather due to the management. We had booked a room with a mountain view, and while there was indeed a view, it also included a sign from the neighboring hotel highlighting the lack of a proper sewage system at Hide Ella. According to the sign (and another one-star review from a local), the hotel discharges all of its wastewater directly into the local drinking water system on a daily basis (see photo). Had we known this beforehand, we would have never booked this hotel. We would have stayed at the one next door instead—cheaper, more charming, and offering free yoga sessions (we know because we attended one class for an additional fee for walk-ins). For the price (300€ per night!!!), the room still had mold in the bathroom and exposed electrical wires. In my opinion, this is nowhere near a four-star hotel standard. Due to the rainy season, we wanted to use the spa—but that was a disappointment as well. The entire area was uncomfortable, poorly lit, and the sauna shut off automatically after just 12 minutes (you had to turn it on about three times before it was even close to warm, and it was just a basic infrared sauna designed for home use). We didn’t try the steam room, and the jacuzzi was covered. A staff member noticed us in the spa and silently opened the jacuzzi cover, but didn’t turn it on. We had a look ourselves and the awful smell explained why. For non-hotel guests, an absurdly high fee is charged for this spa experience. Overall, the hotel felt empty—except for a few Instagram bloggers seemingly there just to take pictures. A hotel with no soul. We can’t comment on the food because we chose not to eat there. We didn’t want to support the hotel any further given the sewage situation.

We stayed 4 nights in Ella and this was the perfect spot for us. The views are amazing and location, 10 min walk to main road, it’s great as it’s a little more quiet and we didn’t mind walking up (a bit of a steep hill but wasn’t a problem for us). We preferred the tranquility and amazing views. Staff very helpful and friendly. We didn’t eat at the restaurant as we preferred to explore the town, only breakfast which was good. They left us a cake in our room as this was our honeymoon!! I rated it a bit Lower as details in the rooms appear at bit outdated despite being a new hotel and overall I think they need to pay more attention to cleanliness and maintenance.

There was quite a lot of mold in the bathroom. Sometimes empty glasses were left on tables for a long time.

The hotel has lovely views from the rooms and the reception areas. The room was spacious and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was a little further away and up a steep hill but still easy to get into the main parts of town with a tuk tuk.

From early in the morning I could hear cutlery and plates being sorted and this is because the breakfast area sits not far from outside the room. So having a lie in wasn't that peaceful. The breakfast area is in a lot of shade so was actually very cold sitting there. The food was also cold despite being in the heated pans. The one restaurant staff asked me about it as other staff had complained. There weren't many options for vegans which was a shame, especially not having any alternative milks which a lot of hotels did have. For a boutique hotel and for the price I think some things can be improved.
