The property exceeded the expectations, especially when we were sick most days (we arrived with sickness actually). All staff members were very kind to accommodate our requests and extended all the help possible. The location is slightly away from center, but you get very good connectivity along with a peaceful, clean and green environment, and the hotel can make arrangements for you to move around. We thank the kindness of the whole team and we feel really grateful.

Value for money. Room was clean. Breakfast was decent.

Its wonderful to stay here and the hospitality is really good. Staffs are friendly and multilingual, Location and pool side is realy well maintained and my kids have enjoyed a lot.
The size of the room and the bed size.. since im 6.3Ft , that's the only inconvenience have faced
Food was awesome... Location was the best... Staff were friendly... Especially Mr Manoj who took care of all of us... Travelled with family... Enjoyed a lot... Highly recommended...
Nothing as such..
Staff were exceptionally good and helpful. Location is also good. Had backup generator for power failure, clean pool..
Breakfast is simple. Should have more options.
Breakfast and location both good. Hosts helpful organising transport and providing information on local destinations. Always available for assistance. Good communication
Clean and good atmosphere helping staff 👌 good location Manoj is very helpful and friendly ,good food, clean swimming pool 10/10
The staffs are so nice

Very good
The staff! Manoj and his team are delightful. Friendly, accommodating and so happy to help with any requests. The food was the nicest we ate in Munnar and would highly recommend having dinner there. The pool is also lovely and cool and has a beautiful outlook over the mountains.
It would have been nice to have a working fridge but that is really a minor concern.
Loved so much about Chithirapuram Palace, the swimming pool was wonderful with lovely cold water which was super refreshing. The food was delicious and breakfast was very tasty and lots of it. Staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us. Fantastic
The manager of the property was very cordial, efficient and polite. He accommodated us for one extra night. He was very informed and had a personal touch. Food was basic but very good. Location itself was excellent and the landscaping of the property was beautiful. Highly recommended.
Nothing. We liked everything.
Location: I am really happy I did not stay in Munnar Town, and stayed here instead. This was around a 30 minute drive away, but zero regrets. The location was really peaceful and calm, exactly what I needed. My only regret is that I did not have sufficient time to lounge around the hotel and chill. Room: Absolutely loved the room. It was spacious and I had a balcony of sorts with a nice seating area, perfect for sipping chai and reading. The room itself was sufficiently large, had a cupboard, etc. Bed was comfortable. The AC worked well. Staff: Excellent and helpful staff.
Lights: Having stayed in other hill stations where the hotels did have the main lights on over the night, I was rather surprised when the whole place plunged into complete darkness before 9 PM. I would have liked to sit out in the balcony for a while in the nights before bed, but it did not feel safe after lights out. I felt a bit cheated, since I was really looking forward to chilling outside in the late evenings. Food: You have to inform in advance if you plan to eat meals there, which becomes a little tiresome if you are busy all day and can't really predict when you will return. Breakfast was decent, but not as great as other places on this trip.
Staff and surrounding
Location is awesome, it is located in Anachal, 1 hour away from Munnar the centre, nearby market area which makes easy for travel. One can easily cover tourist places fro the location.
Breakfast was average, more options can be included for the same. Even coffee and tea wasn't up to the level. It felt like it was made from milk powder.
The Hospitality was great. Mr Manoj was exceptional in treating us with his jovial approach. Met our expectations. Highly recommended for a calm stay at down town. Pool was clean and nice.
May be there can be a dressing/wash room near to the pool which adds to comfort
Beautiful new building offering all mod cons & a great pool area to cool off in! Fantastic breakfast with a variety of fruit, local delicacy & fresh juice. Special mention to Manoj the manager who goes above & beyond to help the guests out, with trips to shops etc! Location quite far out but worth the tranquility!
Sadly the shower was cold our whole stay & more sun loungers needed at pool side as you feel guilty when others have no where to sit!!!
Breakfast was brilliant (mixture of western and south Indian with omelette and either iddly, Dosa or puri,) Staff were attentive and really friendly, clearly all work very hard. Lovely location, tucked in the valley with great views all around and the pool is great. Very chill feel
Restaurant sometimes lacked atmosphere (no music) Rooms could do with a lick of paint and just a bit of improvements, seem a bit dated
The place is wonderful. Small family run hotel in a nice location. In the middle of the tea plantations and off the main road. Very quiet. Nice pool. Overall great experience.
Nothing to complain about
The staff were friendly.
The balcony view is not what you expect when they promote it. Ask for the pool side wifi when you check in. There is a constant problem with power outages.
During my recent trip to Munnar, I spent two peaceful nights at Chithirapuram Palace, and it turned out to be one of those stays that quietly steals your heart. The first thing that struck me was the location—surrounded by lush tea plantations, rolling hills, and misty mornings. Waking up here feels magical, with clouds drifting past your window and birds chirping softly in the background. It’s slightly away from the busy Munnar town, which makes it ideal if you’re looking for peace, privacy, and uninterrupted nature. 📝 Practical Tips • Best suited for couples, families, or anyone looking for a quiet retreat • Carry essentials, as it’s slightly away from the main town • Early mornings here are magical—don’t miss them! • Ideal stay duration: 2–3 days (which felt just right for me)
Parking space, you need to be very careful if you are self driving as it is uphill and congested parking place.
We loved our stay at Chithirapuram Palace; it is well worth the drive up from Kochi and provides a convenient jumping-off point for a hard day’s exploring of Munnar and the surrounding natural beauty. The hotel itself is very well cared for with a Maître D’ who seems to thrive upon making their guests’ satisfaction his No.1 priority - a delightful man, full of old-school professionalism and unmistakable charm. In a world of non-stop entertainment and constant distraction, the Chithirapuram Palace is an increasingly rare invitation to simply relax and read a book. Or write one.
The pool was clean and mostly free. The location was one of isolated and calm. And the food was excellent (for my South Indian taste buds).
The mini fridge in the room wasn't working. But it wasn't much of a bother, so I didn't ask them to fix it.
Manoj was an incredible host!! Arranged our collection from Kochi airport and transport to Alleppey after our stay, both for a very reasonable price. He also suggested a really enjoyable day tour for us whilst in Munnar. The food was really tasty and lots to choose from on the Menu. The location was very peaceful, and it was the only place during our 3 week stay in India that had a pool!!
The town isn't easily accessible from the property unless you have your own car, and Uber wasn't as readily available as it was in bigger cities. Though this was perfect for us and what we wanted from our stay here, it is worth bearing in mind!
Very nice and delicious.
Nothing.
Super helpful and friendly staff, nice pool, cozy rooms and great location.
A vista e o serviço atencioso
A água quente chegava morna ao quarto
We have really enjoyed our stay at Chithirapuram Palace! We were happy to stay a bit further from Munnar which ended up being a great decision. The hotel is in a quiet area but still only a tuktuk drive away from Munnar and its hiking routes and organised activities. The room was comfortable and clean and we had a very pleasant forest soundscape to fall asleep to. All the meals we had at the hotel were delicious! A big thank you to Manoj for taking such excellent care of us!
Nice villa right on top of the mountain, great view, loads of birds and trees arround. Staff was brilliant, delicious home cooked food. Nice overall experience, for a very good price. Booked for three nights ended up spending five.
All was top.

Lovely property. Staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Room very comfortable. Great breakfast. The pool was a really nice feature after a tiring day. Lovely views from the property
Nothing really. The kitchen became a little overwhelmed if everyone appeared together, so staggering evening meals a good night dea
Very nice, clean facilities and welcoming staff. The greenery around was also good for lots of bird watching
Room very nice , location centre between adimaly n munnar , good brrakfast
VERY GOOD STAFF...GOOD FOOD PREPARATIONS...
10/15 MINUTES' WAIT TO GET HOT WATER AT WASHBASIN AS WELL AS SHOWER!! SHOWER FLOOR CAN BE EVRY SLIPPERY! A LIGHT WASN'T WORKING...SO TOO THE FRIDGE!! CAR RAMPS TO GO UP N DOWN VERY STEEP...THE DOWN-GOING RAMP IS VERY DANGEROUS!!...MORE SO DUE TO THE TILED SURFACE!...INLIEU A PROPER ROUGHENED CONCRETE SURFACE...
Homey. Clean.
It was comfortable and in a beautiful location - very peaceful and relaxing.
There was really nothing we didn’t like. It was all lovely.
I received a very warm welcome from the very charismatic manager ' Manoj ' all the staff were very attentive and very polite. It is a very beautiful, charming hotel, consisting of 5 rooms. My room looked onto the pool and it had a very spacious terrace. A lovely sense of openness and stunning views from the pool area. The rooms are very well appointed and spacious. It's lovely to have drinking water in glass bottles. A kettle and tea/coffee. It's located in a very calm area, you can walk into the Old Town and tuk tuks and taxis are available to bring you back, if needed. Lots of cafés etc..enroute. Mannar is approx 8km, which is easily doable by tuk tuk or taxi. There is a great selection on the menu and breakfasts were more than satisfying ! I've had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this hotel and it's excellent value for money. I've visited most of the recommended trips, tea factory, tea plantations, avedic farm, botanical gardens etc...plenty to do and see, all worthwhile !
ZERO
The stay for our familiy was excellent. The manager and staff was very friendly and did what they could to ensure a plesant stay for us. Breakfast is basic, but good. The rooms we stayed in were excellent and the swiming pool area was great. The location is a in a quite place and may be a bit difficult to find. Manoj, the manager, also helped to arrange transport with Mahendra, which ensured reliable transport
Nothing
Clean place and good location. Manoj was an excellent. Beautiful views from the balcony.
The shower didn’t have a shower curtain so water was spilling into surrounding area.
The property is in Chithirapuram, away from the hustle and bustle of the main Munnar town. It’s a small palace converted hotel only 5 rooms, more like a Homestay. Manoj & the staff are very courteous. Great place to stay with family or family with kids.
Everything in totality was great. Only an observation: 1) The breakfast had only 1 main item with bread & juice. I feel there should be at least 1 more item added 2) I was charged for milk for my infant baby which usually no hotel charges Rest all was great !
Very clean place.. comfortable and friendly staff
Location and beautiful view
Staff shortage and limited options for breakfast
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The cleanliness was absolutely disappointing; our room smelled of mold, probably due to its location, and I had trouble breathing at night. The room itself is nice, but the furnishings are very old. The bathroom was okay. At night, the noise from other guests was very noticeable; I had to ask people to be quiet several times and also inform the hotel staff. The breakfast was barely adequate, with very little choice for Italian tastes.
Staff were very helpful
Location too far away from main town

There was a constant unpleasant ODOR coming from outside, along with some smoke, so we had to close the windows and turn on the air conditioning. We had to ask the receptionist for assistance with that. The food was average overall, though the evening snacks and tea were quite good. The cleanliness of the wash area needs improvement, and the dining space feels a bit awkward — it doesn’t give a resort-like vibe. Some light background music could have created a better atmosphere. As for breakfast, it was limited to some bread, puri masala, and pineapple juice. Tea was provided only upon request; the service could be a bit more attentive.
A lovely, quiet place away from Munnar town, with gorgeous natural views. Perfect for relaxing, and very budget-friendly.
We liked that Chitirapuram Palace was a small hotel with a swimming pool. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. It was useful having the opportunity for a cooked meal in the evening - alternatively it would have been a tuk tuk ride to the nearest restaurant.
We didn't feel warmly welcomed. We felt we were mis-sold the room as the booking clearly stated mountain view - which I believe is one of the main reasons people visit Munnar, unfortunately we were given a room which looked out on to a wall and a tree which was very dissapointing after the long journey we made to get there. People were talking loudly and slamming doors in the lobby for around an hour from 3am which disturbed our sleep.
It was a beautiful place with good atmosphere . The place and rooms were very clean and with an beautiful ambiance. we loved the stay and the services . Its really more than value of the money spent . Good , comfort and beautiful place to stay with family .
The entire premises makes not as a stay at hotel , its like our own feeling at home been with star hotel facilities . The swimming pool was so good with beautiful ambiance . good food as what we ordered was excellent . Morning break fast offered in package was so worthy and loved it . Overall a good place to stay .

Beautiful place to stay. Manoj and the gang are so helpful and provided very exceptional service.
The choice of breakfast is very poor. Need to improve on their food as the nearest food outlet outside is 15 min walking distance.
Super little infinity pool with mountain view.. We had direct access to pool from our room and balcony. Food was lovely, staff were lovely and very helpful with organising trips and drivers. Room was clean.

Manager Manoj and his staff gave us a warm welcome. We had excellent dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Manoj went out of his way to help us with the continuation of our trip; he found, booked and arranged the advance payment for a houseboat in Allapuzzha. He booked us a taxi and arranged for the dressmaker from Madurai to bring us a dress at 07:00 AM 😃. On top of all these practical arrangements he guided us on a breathtaking hike through the tea plantations.
We liked everything.
Kameralny i przytulny hotel blisko atrakcji Munnar.
We traveled around India for 3 weeks and this was our last stop, and it was hands the best place we stayed at. Here are a few points I want to highlight: - Not only is it good value for money but the rooms are comfortable, clean and feel fresh. - The bathrooms are modern and clean. - The staff and Manoj (the hotel manager) are exceptional hosts and caretakers. - Incredible food! We are avid foodies but we ended up never leaving the hotel for food as they have a great kitchen and it is incredibly reasonably priced. - Manoj acted as our guide and chauffeur for the two days we were there, he planned excursions for us and suggested more things to do which was great. For the first time in 3 weeks, we let the locals take the lead and it went amazing. - great views and balcony in the bedroom! We seriously could not have asked for a better stay; we know how difficult it is to find reliable hotels at an affordable cost in India but this is definitely one of them!
Not a dislike but it is cash only so make sure you plan for that :)
The view, food, hospitality of the staff and the serenity of the place is amazing.
The entrance is a bit scary.
Comfortable property in a great location in Munnar. Very convenient for sightseeing in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and made a lovely home cooked dinner on our first night
Would have loved if the pool was open for more hours - we didn’t get to use it because we were out sightseeing during the day
Super lovely location. Staff super helpful. Pool is stunning
