The location, cleanliness, staff, food everything was very good.

The games which they, the pool is excellent, the food oh my god. So much variety don’t know where to stop eating 😀. Staff is really good caring and helpful.

The property needs a little upgrade. Looks a little dated. But overall must stay.

Room was beautiful and spacious, even with an extra bed. The breakfast selection was great and the staff were really excellent. The pool and beach was amazing. Did a couples massage too and the spa was very relaxing

Our stay at Taj Bentota was truly cozy, relaxing, and memorable from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality. They were extremely accommodating and even upgraded our room, which made our stay even more special. We had booked a bed-and-breakfast package but decided to enjoy the dinner buffet at the resort. Thanks to the restaurant staff, we received a great deal, and the dining experience exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, with an excellent selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian dishes. A special thanks to Chef Dalip Singh and Chef Jasvir Singh for going the extra mile by preparing special dish for my family. Their kindness and dedication made our dining experience unforgettable. We would also like to appreciate the entire team at the Palms Restaurant. Every staff member was courteous, attentive, and provided exceptional service throughout our stay. My family had a wonderful time at Taj Bentota. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind. We truly didn't want to leave! I would highly recommend Taj Bentota to my friends and family, and we are already looking forward to returning for another stay.

We liked everything about the Taj Bentota . All the staff were amazing and looked after us very well . The chef Kamal , Asiai, Rohan , kannaangar and Reema in the Spa . Last of all Malaccoasa who looked after our room .

We will go back next year .

The breakfast had a fantastic selection every day and we appreciated the small differences each day that broke up the monotony. A HUGE thank you to our server Sam, who impressed us with his hospitality; he memorised our likes (and there were 9 of us). He had my pot of tea and honey ready to go, my husband’s coffee, my mum-in-law’s preferred coffee type, etc. Even when he wasn’t on our area, he organised the servers to have it ready. Thank you, Sam!! You bring respect and credit to the Hotel’s good name. The chefs always sent treats for my daughters and brought special dishes we had tried the day before. Damith & Ravindra were helpful. Sampath at the pool was so attentive and busy helping everyone. Saman, our room cleaner was phenomenal. So attentive to all our family’s needs. Our families- young and old LOVED his towel arrangements. The Dr in charge at the Spa was so lovely. She took such care looking out for my elderly mums’ needs. We all enjoyed our treatments.

Honestly, we all just loved our stay. After 240 days of daily treatment for Leukaemia, I needed that break, as did my whole family who carried the weight of that fight against cancer, with me. We loved it. We also booked a cooking class for all our family at ‘Anyone Can Cook’ cooking school, in Bentota- it was fantastic! You should recommend them to guests. Really helps tourists like us learn so much more about beautiful Sri Lanka. Wish there were beach lounges we could have taken out onto the beach. And umbrella’s. We were sorry not to have those. There were A LOT of stakes sticking out of the sand (wooden & metal) from fire works maybe?

Typical Taj Hotel service. Many amenities and activities. Fun for all ages, especially kids with the kids club, pool and beach. Food was great.

WIFI capped to 4 devices per room. Very tricky in modern days with multiple between a family of 4! Location is away from everything, but this both good and bad. Not walkable but can get to most places quickly by car.

I liked that the staff was friendly and nice.

Staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Especially Sam who is a waiter and looked after us so well. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and beautifully kept by the cleaning staff. Pool is lovely - the views are absolutely incredible. Breakfast is fantastic! The gym is probably the best hotel gym I have ever used. Spotless and good equipment.

We had an issue at check in with the ages of our children. The teenagers had been accepted on the booking as children, but the hotel said they were adults and we needed to pay more. This was really frustrating after a long journey. But the hotel agreed to honour the price we had booked for eventually.

we stayed there for 5 nights. It was absolutely perfect, the staff was absolutely wonderful. They did everything they could to make us feel good. The head chef sarath was the best chef I have ever experienced. He is so good at everything he does, he needs praise and a pat on the back to keep calm in a hectic everyday life. great food, he runs around greeting people and tries to cook everything that is asked. Gayan the room boy was fantastic, he makes everyday life a party with his smile and kindness. Loved staying there and will stay there several times.

All of the staff were great. Location was amazing.

Main buffet restaurant was fine for dinner. Did not feel drawn to the other restaurants so headed out to town instead.

Bei Ankunft innerhalb von 2 Std 3x umgezogen von Zimmer Etage 1 bis 3. Da Klimaanlage über Luftschacht haben die Zimmer leider Schimmelbefall und Geruch. Es wird weniger umso höher man wohnt. Wir haben nach 1 Nacht ausgecheckt. Mussten restliche Tage nicht bezahlen. Frühstück Buffet ok aber aufgrund der Menge der Gäste recht laut. Am Pool wurden leider die Liegen ab halb 9 bereits von den Gästen reserviert.

I have never been to a Taj before, so I have nothing to compare it to. The lobby is impressive and the location with direct access to the beach is great. The staff is lovely and the housekeeping do so much for you, Saudtha I believe, checked on us regularly and brought us more water or towels.

When a twin is converted into a double room, one of the guests end up without space to put their things and the light switches are at the wrong place.

Loved the stay. Was there for 6 nights with my wife and 14month old daughter. The attention to detail they gave to my daughter and her food, care, everything just made our stay worth it. Absolutely clean facilities, amazing beach. Unbelievable. Special mention to Chef Dalip and his team + Malawana who managed our room so well, new towel crafts every day which v absolutely loved.

Had a slight glitch at check-in. Didn't get the room I booked but they gave us the room the next day, which was fine.

Персонал приятный,услужливый.На пляже есть возможность взять доску в прокат и инструктора (который очень условный инструктор) и посерфить.Номер у нас был новый ,с прекрасным видом .В целом отель хороший.

В период нашего пребывания был ремонт,целый день возле бассейна что-то долбили,никакого релакса.Ощущение что ты в дубле. Сам отель далеко не новый,выглядит подуставшим,на фото гораздо эффектнее. Ужины в отеле очень дорогие,как и цены на коктейли в баре.Значительно дороже ,чем в заведениях в округе.Мы каждый день ужинали в разных ресторанах с прекрасным морским меню и напитками. Немного напрягало,что при выходе на пляж каждый раз спрашивают какой номер,не понятно с какой целью…Когда ходишь туда-сюда это очень надоедает.На пляже была обнаружена ядовитая змея.

The bathroom in our hotel room was in need of renovation, but that didn't bother us too much as we spent most of our time outside anyway.

Sunbed situation ridiculous for a quality hotel, not enough and in poor condition . At times it was like Benidorm Birds really annoying as able to fly into part of the dining room to steal scraps. Nets need to be erected Noisy at time due to building work and refurbishment No alcohol served twice during our stay in Sri Lanka. The first hotel made deliveries to the room the Taj made no offer and did not fill the mini bar. Not ideal when on holiday Some areas need refurbishment and carpets need a good clean

Beautiful property, very good pool and beach, which is very clean and has a small lagoon. We had a sea facing room with full view of the ocean and a beautiful balcony.

We had a sea view deluxe room, which was a really nice room. Except for the bathroom, little small, but the shower was very poor, and having to climb into a bath at the age of 71 is not a good idea. Come on you are a 5 star hotel

We ended a very busy tour of Sri Lanka with 3 days at the Taj Bentota Resort. We arrived late in the evening and were met with a warm welcome, offered refreshments and escorted to our room. The room was very comfortable and serviced each morning with a “Room Boy” who also checked on us in the early evening asking if we had any additional requirements along with bringing us a sweet snack! The Palm restaurant for breakfast offered an array of food and our waiter Asiri was attentive at all times constantly checking and clearing plates. He was a star! Thank you Asiri. The Shack restaurant was excellent value and we enjoyed our evening meals there as it was quieter than the Palm restaurant. Hotel facilities were excellent, really enjoyed the yoga class with an excellent local instructor. Only downside was we were only there for 3 days!!

Прекрасная локация отеля! Песчаный пляж несколько километров, очень красивая территория, отличный бассейн, персонал очень вежливый и доброжелательный. Возникла проблема с первым днем пребывания, о которой сообщили за день до приезда, но менеджмент отеля очень достойно с красиво вышел из этой ситуации. Номера хорошие, свежие после реновации. Завтраки очень приличные. Особенно хочется отметить менеджера ресторана Damith, который моментально исправляет косяки персонала и поваров, он лучший!!! Очень хороший ресторан морепродуктов SHAC на территории отеля, вкусно необыкновенно, прекрасное обслуживание! СПА на территории отеля очень неплохой. В шаговой доступности от отеля несколько ресторанов, все вкусно и качественно, до города 5 минут на ТУК-ТУКе. Экскурсии лучше покупать у местных, на пляже стенд с возможными экскурсиями, все то же самое, но через отель дороже. Отель очень атмосферный.

Было удивительно, когда аква-аэробика проходила в бассейне без музыки! Думаю, 30 минут хорошей музыки не помешали бы отдыхающим, а наоборот добавили ли бы позитива.

Fantastic experience overall. The hotel staff is courteous, warm, and truly exceptional in their service. The food deserves a special mention — outstanding quality and taste. Highly recommend this property for a perfect stay.

This is still one of the most beautiful hotels in Sri Lanka in Bentota Beach.The landscape is stunning & the view from the hotel is exceptional.The staff are very friendly & accommodating in particular in the restaurant (Arsari & a few others).The room was very comfortable & spacious.The food is great & a small edible treat was delivered to the room daily in the afternoon.The beach is pristine & I thoroughly enjoyed aqua aerobics in the swimming pool by Janaka.Overall it's a very scenic & relaxing hotel.

There was a bit of an admin problem when I booked via the original website & an anomaly occurred, which I'm not sure was by accident as there was no mention on my account, so the dates were mixed up.Then I ended up booking with booking.com.There should have been an option of paying in Sri Lankan LKRs, rather than $, which most hotels allow for in Sri Lanka.Also, there were some guests who were quite rude & loud in the restaurant, towards the staff & towards or disturbed other guests.Which in my opinion should have been called out, as it's a 5 star hotel & that sort of behaviour shouldn't be tolerated as each guest has spent a lot to be there.

A brilliant hotel with 10/10 service from all staff members! Lovely beach setting and plenty of restaurants a short walk away

The oriental restaurant in our opinion was very over priced and a bit dated / weird ambience inside - this is the only negative we have about our entire stay!

Clean and nice rooms. Good food . Welcoming and friendly staff. Swimming pool is clean and filtered. Beach is very clean however the sea is wavy.

A hotel with excellent infrastructure. There are many rooms, so there are many guests in the hotel, but despite this, the guests are well distributed and we did not encounter any commotion. The room was comfortable, opening directly onto the garden and beyond that onto the beach. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! We had half board and were satisfied with the quality and variety of the meals. The price is not low, but it is appropriate for the service provided.

Daleep ji treated us like god. It was amazing! Loved teh place and the staff. The Taj stands for excellence. My daughter got baby food - khichdi warm milk and anythign else needed at anytime of the day

Everything was just perfect! The pricing was high because it was peak season but the crowd was amazing! Too much fun! Also, one of the nights was full moon so i couldnt buy alcohol at the hotel but rest of the time it was great!

Отель не достоин 5*. Все негативные отзывы полная правда. Отель пакетник. По-видимому поэтому такое отношение к гостям. Соотношение цена и качество это ноль. Отель 1997 года и не было реноваций. Все очень уставшее. Оплатили 4 к$ за 2 ночи за 2 номера так и не поняли за что. В завершение на ужине отравились. Семью рвало всю ночь. Заказали трансфер до другом отеля, сразу оплатили в отеле, так по приезду драйвер запросил 3 к рупий типа было далеко. Не повторяйте чужихошибок.

Отель очень интересно спроектирован) номеров много, но людей не было видно, так как на разные этажи - свои входы. У каждого номера вид на сад. Нам достался номер с выходом на лужайку, прям ступеньки с балкона! Дети были счастливы) бегали за ящерицами босиком по траве) очень удобно заходить с океана, прям в купальнике сразу на веранду. У бассейна много лежаков, всегда находились свободные места, занимать заранее было не нужно. На пляже тоже) хотя казалось, что лежаков не много… Но люди рассредотачивались по берегу и казалось, что мы там одни) Очень комфортно! Красиво и уютно! Были во многих местах Шри-Ланки! Это местечко классное)

Excellent location. The beach and the pool are special highlights. Also, the spa was a great experience.

For almost USD 600 a night, the room is very basic. Amenities, comfort and storage in rooms is on par with USD 200 rooms (minus the location etc.) - more a Vivanta room than a Taj one. Secondly, there was constant civil work happening at the hotel from 9 AM to 8 PM in the Christmas - New Year week!!! Thirdly, service while good in general, crumbles when the resort gets to 80% occupany it seems. Unfortunately, the "Tajness" was missing.

Staff here is the best, especially Mr. Matthews, the general manager. A real gem of a person. Under his leadership, the entire team of Taj is extremely professional and efficient! Wouldn't expect anything less from Taj. Great service as always!

Some dishes in the buffet were mislabelled, some lid holders were missing. Some dishes were cold, some chicken overcooked. The dal makhani could be more creamy. The dessert section was amazing though. Overall food and the presentation could be better. Overall a great experience nevertheless!
