Amazing, sprawling property directly overlooking the backwaters. Everything is very natural and well-maintained. Chaya chechi (high tea) was the highlight for us. Lots of fishes, birds, etc. We even saw otters and big monitor lizards which our child loved! Definitely will visit again

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and resort - one of the loveliest swimming pools of our trip. We felt that all staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help us and check on us. When my little boy was poorly they arranged a trip to the hospital for us and everybody was checking if we needed anything. While initially we didn’t feel their approach to accommodating a vegan diet was what we had hoped for (e.g no alternatives when dishes had butter in, nothing signed) once I raised this I really felt that the restaurant went above and bring to make sure we were well catered to. The complimentary Sunset cruise is also delightful.

Nothing we didn’t like - the only comment would be that the extra charged activities were quite expensive e.g 8000 for all of us to do kayaking seemed like a lot.

Furniture needs to be renovated

There was a complete lack of clear communication. We were never informed clearly about which documents were required for check-in. After traveling two hours to reach the property, the receptionist turned us away for missing specific paperwork. To make matters worse, the property itself had a very unkempt feel to it. An incredibly disappointing experience.

A Picture Perfect, Unforgettable Stay - Heritage at its Best! We had a truly magical stay at Coconut Lagoon by CGH Earth. The resort itself is so unique - you can only reach it by a short boat ride across the backwaters, which is such a special welcome. It's located right on Vembanad Lake, right across from the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, set in preserved heritage bungalows transplanted from old Kerala homes. The entire property reflects the vibrant culture of Kuttanad and the backwaters and we could not stop clicking pictures - every corner has such insane views, it was overall picture perfect.  Our kids absolutely loved the pottery class and the sunset cruise into the lake was amazing - highly recommended. What really won our hearts was the courtesy which was next level. We got delayed from a morning activity and reached back one hour after breakfast time, well after the kitchen had closed, and the team still warmly offered us a full, fresh breakfast with a smile. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare. Both dinner and breakfast were amazing with authentic Kerala flavors. From the serene lake views to the thoughtful activities, nature walks, and incredibly warm staff, Coconut Lagoon is much more than a resort. It's a CGH Earth experience that lets you live the gentle pulse of the backwaters. A perfect blend of luxury, heritage and nature. We will cherish this stay forever!

Amazing place and a great concept that immerses you in Keralan culture whilst also providing the comfort of a luxury resort. The food was delicious and the many complimentary activities were excellent. A truly unique experience in a stunningly beautiful location.

We were a bit stressed when we left as we had a flight and there was a bit of miscommunication regarding when we could leave but that was the only issue.

Me and my friend had a fantastic 3 day stay at Coconut lagoon. We went during off-season (monsoon time), and so the resort was a bit quieter, but the serenity and calmness of the resort would have been the same even if it was full! Our stay was excellent, brilliant food, gorgeous bungalow, friendly staff and the location is gorgeous. I would highly recommend this place - worth every penny!

The property was beautiful

The staff was extremely rude and unaccomodating The hotel was inundated and many of the experience were closed because of heightened water level but the hotel staff did nothing to accommodate( except for discount on food ) or plan any alternate , very frankly if the condition of the hotel was such the property should have given option to cancel since I found it extremely unsafe given the condition it was, most of the property was flooded and I was scared to walk around out of risk of electrocution and slipping (Infact I slipped and fell once hurting my ankle and back) . This was one of the worst hotel experiences and also one of the most expensive The only upside was it was beautiful no doubt and the nature walk in the morning was genuinely worth it!

The ambiance, the rooms, the range of activities offered, the peace and quiet.

This a 5 Star property except for the main restaurant. The fish restaurant, which is separate from the main facility, is okay, if not memorable. But the main restaurant is two steps down from the ambiance and the luxury of the rest of the property. Fix the restaurant with a better quality of ingredients and more of a choice, and you will get repeat foreign business.

The bedroom in the Mansion

I grew up in Kerala - I visited the property for the first time with my family and partner, who had never been to Kerala before. The whole experience was incredible, from the first boat ride into the resort until the moment we left. It was one of the best stays I have ever had, and the staff were truly what made the experience so special. I will definitely be visiting again and bringing more of my friends here so they can experience the essence of Kerala, all in one place.

The toilet on our villa was not functioning properly. The resort promptly send someone to fix it but it kind of dampened the excitement of an otherwise good stay. The sewage system needs to be checked out.

No in- room service or denied service. We asked for room service on the day we landed and were curtly told that the property does not offer room service and it was on the last day of stay that we realised (as told to us by the manager) that they do have room service but on staff discretion! The main restaurant is open and has only fans. The high humidity made the entire dining experience quite poor especially in the afternoons.

The stay was at a nice Beautiful location. The resort had a lot of in house activities to engage tourists and a spa etc which was lovely to have. My in-laws who visited India for the first time , liked that they could experience the culture and traditions of Kerala at this resort, from the old bunglaws to traditional dances etc.

We weren’t a fan of the open washroom and shower . Especially since there were mosquitoes and other insects like moths . Was not our favorite. Ideally would have preferred a closed washroom . Additionally, the roofs of some of the bungalows leaked in the room during the rain, which was not ideal either. One of our bungalows had an issue with the toilet . One other thing was that the resort didn’t have any first aid or OTC medicine. The hospital is far away from this place hence for some cases not having any immediate solution until you reach a doctor especially if someone ate some food that didn’t sit right with them or a kid got hurt or fell sea sick, was not ideal. There is a Ayurvedic doctor available during certain times of the day , but having a first aid kit with emergency medicine would be ideal

The architect and design of the layout of the entire resort which was so tastefully designed . Expansive size , nature , beauty to blend with Kumarakom what it is for . Lastly the service of all the staff who we cross each other every day , they were all exceptional.

The property is beautiful! It is surrounded by water and is full of greenery. This makes for a very soothing experience. The facilities are very thoughtfully provided and you can see the sustainable designs everywhere. Loved our stay and we will definitely visit again! 💯

Exceptionally maintained

So, there’s no room service or TV in rooms. Not meant for old parents who just want to relax. Totally not worth the money. As soon as we reached, we were asked to head for lunch. We saw other tables that came after us get served earlier. Our lunch was purposely delayed to compensate delays in giving us our room. They made up reasons for not giving us a room immediately, made us wait for almost 2 hours. We reached at lunch, and had to leave by tea time. Thanks to my timely action, we went to Kumarokam Lake resort nearby and we were in our room in 20 mins, despite booking with the front desk just a while back. The delays in our stay were blamed on a faulty fan, but seems more like someone extended their stay and the property didn’t have a spare room. They were even planning to send us to a room that we didn’t book, clearly a cheaper one, for the time being. Would never go to any of their other properties.

The warm welcome in the boat as well the heart felt good bye as if someone from family is leaving.

A great hotel to relax and enjoy the backwater area of Kerala. Lot activities and amenities are available. Sivani at the reception was really helpful and professional.

Na een reis van ongeveer 4 uur vanuit Munnar kom je echt aan op een stukje paradijs. Het bijzondere begint al bij aankomst: je wordt niet zomaar voor de deur afgezet, maar naar een locatie gebracht vanwaar je met een boot naar het hotel wordt gevaren. Dat maakt de ervaring meteen speciaal. Bij aankomst word je hartelijk verwelkomd. Er wordt op een traditionele dholak gespeeld, je krijgt een tikka op je voorhoofd en een welkomstdrankje — een warm en authentiek ontvangst. Na het inchecken werden we naar onze bungalow gebracht. En daar kwam het eerste “wow”-moment: wat een leuk en knus huisje. Van binnen alles schoon en netjes, en buiten een eigen douche- en toiletruimte, wat het extra bijzonder maakt. Het resort zelf is heerlijk rustig. Door de omstandigheden in de wereld was het wat rustiger dan normaal, maar dat zorgde er juist voor dat we echt even volledig konden ontspannen. De verzorging in het hotel was top. Ontbijt, lunch en diner waren elke dag gevarieerd en met zorg bereid. De internationale gerechten waren wat meer standaard, maar alles smaakte goed. Een extra bijzonder moment: mijn vrouw werd hier 50 jaar, en het hotel heeft daar echt iets moois van gemaakt. Alles draaide om haar, en dat werd geweldig opgepakt door Siddarth en Dinesh — complimenten daarvoor. Er was gezegd dat ze wat bloemetjes zouden neerleggen om een diner aan het water op te fleuren… maar wat we kregen was zoveel meer. Ze hebben echt groots uitgepakt. Voor mijn vrouw werd het een onvergetelijke verjaardag. Het hotel heeft daarnaast veel te bieden: een vlindertuin, een spa, mogelijkheden om te kanoën en kleine excursies te doen. Het zwembad is heerlijk om bij te ontspannen, en lunchen bij het zwembad met uitzicht over het water maakt het helemaal af. Dit is echt een plek waar je volledig tot rust komt en even alles loslaat. Graag wil ik het hele team bedanken — van de head chef tot aan de serveerders — voor de zorg, aandacht en gastvrijheid.

My experience at the Ayurveda Centre in the property was not that good. I was not informed that the massage will be done in a room that does not have an AC. I had a mid afternoon slot so it was uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the money I paid.

Felt like a slice of heaven on earth. It was so beautiful. All of the free activities to do were delightful and the staff were so attentive and welcoming. We loved our morning yoga and evening meditation sessions. It seems as though the property really embodies the ethos of the earth. We will be back !
