The Hotel didn't accommodate my stay. No rooms available
No one even assist till find an alternative 6 hours stayed outside .in vain no room.i can't believe this a hotel
The beach
food bad no options 😔
The rooms were nice. Good location, you can find everything on walking distance. Beach is good, not too crowded.
The staff is very arrogant. There was no toilet paper inside the public toilets, when I asked they gave me napkins. I dont like the idea of that the chef gives the food himself and not I can take it myself, because the chef was very rude. Litterally, evertyime when I went to get food, he puts something small and then goes to another guest to serve, and I was still waiting. Very rude! The food was also not good. I found worms in my food, I made a picture of it and showed it to the chef. He was kind and brought me a plate of fruit but it was still dissappointing.

This is the 4th stay at this hotel due to its good location. Probably the last time..
There's incredibly loud music outside the hotel every night until 4 am. It's impossible to sleep if you are a light sleeper. The beach is always packed full in the afternoon, and there's barely space to swim. If you try the beach in the morning, its full of litter. Some of the staff are unfriendly and one of them was quite rude when I suggested to them they signpost the direction to the new pool as it's more than 500 metres from the hotel. They waved their arm at me as if I was crazy. You are forced to book with meal options, and the food quality and varieties are mediocre at best. As always, the Internet was awful.
Very good very clean very friendly
The only positive aspect is the access to a private beach through one of their group hotels, where sunbeds, chairs, and umbrellas are available free of charge.
The hotel is quite old and lacks proper maintenance. We booked a room for two nights with half board, but there weren’t many options for either breakfast or dinner. The worst part was the noise from the bars in front of the hotel—they played loud music from 9 PM until 4:30 AM. It was unbearable.
Not recommend at all, very bad experience, food, service and staff all of them are bad, high value Vs. Too Low service 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Nothing
The location is so bad, There is a cafes in front on the hotel, running very loudly music until early morning and I couldn’t sleep during all the nights, I have taken to the management but looks like that they see this is something normal !
The worst Experience I have ever had in such Hotel either in Egypt or any where else in the world, we did not have reservation but we went to the reception requesting an offer for Family room for 3 or 4 nights, the hotel offered us family room, but after they got our passport and left us waited about 1 hour to check us in, while i keep asking them every 10 min if there are any issues to wait all this long time they never give us feedback, in the end they said they are not able to provide us with the offered room price due to that i do not have marriage contract which is totally ridiculous reason for 2 adults+3 children's to carry their marriage contract, in the end the GM came to us introducing him self as ''General from Egypt Army'' and this hotel belongs to the Egyptian military and this is their rules, and the only solution is to get 2 rooms to be separated from my wife & kids as this is the country rules, which will cost me double price that has been offered earlier almost, i also could not find any rules like that mentioned any where online in the hotel site, this is totally frustrating after waiting 1 hour with 2 kids & 1 infant, i immediately rejected and asked for my passports back and left this Terrible place and Management, please note the hotel is seems also dirty because we have seen around, but we had to accept it due to the price and that the city were full, but after they treated us like that we decided to leave and search somewhere else as this is kind of Discrimination to not accommodate us due to that i have Egypt & EU passports and therefore i have to provide Marriage contract while any other pass or nationality does not have to (Again this is discrimination as per my wife felling's) never try to go this place.
Dinner
Locals are not up to the standard
NOTHING
The facility cancelled our reservation while we were on the road. I insisted that they found a solution as I was on a business trip for one day and there was not way to find another hotel. Instead, the hotel offered me and my colleague an apartment that was in a terrible shape. Very old furniture, broken wooden floors, busted AC, let go cleanliness. It was a terrible night. For the invoice, the staff kept me 30 min looking for the stamp after correcting the invoice twice due to making mistakes.I would never ever go there and I reported this place to my employer so no one else would go. You at Booking need to take these rates seriously and remove this facility from your lists It just ruins your reputation.
The property and stuff are are good and restaurant food and service excellent and friendly and respectful
location extremely loud music from surrounding until 3am, was a little inconvenient as beach was not in hotel we had to go through another hotel and beach was not good for swimming because too much seaweed.
The rooms were spacious Staff were courteous
Cleanliness - we found cigarets aches in the toilet when we checked in Limited choices for breakfast and dinner
Location and Food
Very old Facilitites (lockers, water taps, showers, keys,, furniture). Only three cloth holders per room. And no more can be added. Very bad internet. No tissues at hotel public toilets (ground floor).
Location was fine
Room wasn’t that clean as expected
Location, cleanliness, most of the staff was great
We had issues with the room door every time we want to get in.. they change it later
Location and room size
Noisy
The stuff in the front desk, the housekeeper, everyone
Everything just great
Not a good option for family in terms of price, food quality, daily housekeeping, terrible entertainment…etc Can’t sleep at night cause of terrible noise came from parties around the hotel Swimming pool water is yellow and nobody cares None of the safes are working and I had to keep my personal belongings with me all the time
The place was very luxurious, the staff were very friendly and descent, and the food was awesome regarding the quantity and the taste. Money well spent.
That I only stayed 4 days
The hotel is in a good site in the city The room is wide good sea and pool view room service is good with tea and coffee service and mineral water but TV is very bad only local 5 channels with Very bad signal Very good beach ,clean water and sand, restaurant not good no hot drinks except tea breakfast so modest with only 4dishes Finally hotel is good for day use only
The staff were generally nice and polite.
I paid higher than the price indicated by booking.com which was quite shocking!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Beach was very good.
Breakfast was so poor. Couldn't sleep at night due to the loud music outside the hotel.
Friendly staff
During our 10 day stay in Egypt, we stayed in 4 different hotels. I must say that Jewel matrouh was the best one by far. Firstly, the receptionists were so accommodating and lovely, especially Nada. The laundry lady was so kind and always smiling- somehow whilst she was washing our clothes, there had been a tiny hole in one of our clothes which she was very apologetic for and was honest and admitted her mistake. We didn't mind at all as she was so sweet and humble. The staff at breakfast were so lovely too, very helpful and caring. They knew we were a large group and liked to eat together and they would ensure they made a space for us every morning. The hotel itself had everything you need- it was clean, comfortable beds, shampoo/shower gel/waters/kettle/tea/coffee etc in each room Cleaning ladies would come everyday and do an awesome job. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jewel Matrouh- as foreigners they welcomed us kindly and tried their best to communicate with us Many reviews complain about the noise and although I agree that this is true, I have to say that the noise didn't disturb us at all. We had mixed ages in our group, old people, youngsters and little children and everyone got their beauty sleep! I also really liked their arrangements for towels-using a towel card and thought the wristband was a great idea especially if anyone was to get lost as it gets very busy at night, it would be easy to find your way back home by showing anyone the wristband! A solid 10/10 and I would love to return
- Dinner was Of great quality, all the food tastes like home made - House keeping in the rooms was Of a very good standard. - Reception are mostly friendly trying to sort issues beyond their control due to poor management and outdated systems and process - Management accommodated the issue of losing room key and a towel ( Maybe to make up for a very bad experience the group had)
- Overall one of the worst experiences I have had in my entire life, it is a mystery how this hotel got their star ratings and are still in Business. a) reservation: Too many errors between Booking.com and the hotel management and as a result some missed on the meals which was paid ( kids meals), some has to pay for half the board for some of the children. Booking.com did also very poor job closing out the issue with the booking details and especially when I was following up from Australia b) Food : Breakfast was of very poor quality (cheese quality, bread not fresh, pastry was not good, not enough food in some cases, no coffee at Breakfast unless you order and pay for it ?! ) Dinner is a set menu and very rigid system for booking the time for the dinner, they will serve the dinner regardless you’re on your table or not. They will still delay the food if it suits them and the guests have to wait). Everything about the dinner is s big deal, adding or removing items, the staff are not trained and have no idea on hospitality). Lack of care is basically the overall vibe you get in this place. The staff supervisor will come and count how many water bottles were served ?!?! Even though the food quality was really good but the portions are tiny for both adults and children). Beach : Biggest Disappointment, they claim it is a private beach - The Hotel AGM strongly believes it is accurate description and the norm in that locality - The truth is, it is open to public for a ticket (100 LE) and there is no limit on how many tickets they sell per day. As a result the beach gets crazy busy and attracts the worst crowd. The behaviour of some of those customers is appalling and not a family friendly environment at all. The Jet ski are too close to the beach and as a result all day you will be smelling Gasoline and in some instances the jet ski cross the line for the beach and they drive over it.
Having a private beach is a nice feature as other beaches are very crowded in the summer. The hotel facilities are well maintained.
Wi-Fi is intermittent and of very poor bandwidth. The dinner (as part of half board) is a set menu rather than buffet and not all items on the menu can be requested (unless you pay extra). The nights are very noisy due to nearby cafes..you still can hear loud singing with all Windows shit up until 4 am.
What I only like location which is very near to beach
A lot of bad things, starting from staff , food , room , cleaning service and support
They take extra fees for my children and already paid on booking for them.
Very bad hotel We have did refund because of unclear reservations and informations They didn’t return our money for 2 months till now And they are not reachable We can’t get in touch with them Every time they reply on whatsapp they say we are following up and nothing new
Location
Very noisy
The breakfast was good in general . I would suggest to add continental breakfast as butter was not available.
I am satisfied with my staying in the hotel . well done.
The staff was nice and helpful. The food was excellent and the only reason I did not give 1 star. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and the served dinner was great food (so much food). The room was very large.
Outside the hotel are carnivals and outdoor cinemas. Even with the windows closed the noise was very annoying. And it did not stop until after 4 or 5 am. The parking, even though reserved, was minimal. At times at night we thought if we went out, there would be no space when we returned. My only complaint about the staff is about the 'admin' who apparently lost our ID and marriage certificate copies and then thought it was a good idea to have someone call at 130am to ask about our payment (cash or card) which had already been handled at check in by the lovely and very competent reception staff. I think maybe the 'admin' needs more training before having guests harassed at all hours.
Most of the staff members have a friendly attitude, even though rigid and blunt being afraid to break any rules.
Only one elevator !! Which takes only 3 people !! Unimaginable for any hotel big or small. Big time confusion on check in which took like 3 hours !!! .. they do not accept United States dollars paid by Visa card and they still ask you to pay cash in Egyptian pounds !!!! Family room advertised wrongfully as 4 full beds, king bed, while they meant to say 4 full beds OR king bed, but that was lost in translation !! and it creates a huge confusion. Doors work by keys not cards and they have to put bracelets on all guest hands for identification !!! Delivery is not allowed to go up to your room, you have to come down and meet them in reception area / lobby. There is no balconies and this hotel is not a beach front one (there is another one named jewel beach matrouh which is beach front). Food quality is not satisfactory.
nothing
food,rooms,everything
I don't recommend this property at all It is not fitting criteria of neither 4 nor 3 stars hotel Staff are not professional lacking the experience and knowhow to communicate with guests Guests come at the end of their priority list They only care about the ways how to force you to pay extra money in nonsense arbitrary decisions The good thing is the location
Good hotel for families
Nothing
location and staff
bathroom smell
nice hotel having own private beach , room and restaurants service are great.. really enjoyed the stay... Also got good experience of arabic live music on Friday night... highly recommend to stay with family..
During my stay in the hotel at Marsa Matrouh in August 2022 our family felt very comfortable and welcomed from the whole staff starting from the CEO and the vice to the youngest of the staff . Also I’d Lilke to thank the whole team whom did their best to satisfy us at our stay and having an outstanding effort for welcoming us specially the receptionist team, the house keeping team and the food and beverage team. Not limited to Mr M. Kamal, Mr A. Heikal, Mr M.el saieed, Mr M. Ahmed, Miss Nermin, Miss Marwa and Mr A. Halawa we couldn’t ever thank them and the whole staff for the extraordinary effort and hospitality.
The area The receptionists
The service is very good. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff members are very friendly and cooperative.
The pool is small. The see isn't neer to the hotel. The beach isn't wide enough.
location & service
reception language problem ( no English Speaking)
Good location friendly staff
It's ok
To pay ....5 stars Services do not exceed 1 star Swim suits in the reception Floor covered with sand Room service very bad We fight for towls and for tea packages First line of beach umbrellas is reserved for vip every day we dont know who are they and whay they are vip
I do not recommend this hotel as they are forcing me to pay more money than agreed and unfortunately I were not allowed to contact any level of management as this hotel is depending on just one person. This hotel is one of the Military hotels and doesn't care about guests or there complaints. I were promised that one of the management will contact me after a rude behave from the sales and marketing person but she ignored me and forced us to pay extra money that already paid in advance.
