Ha Giang Faithien Homestay

This place was recommended by Kenny from Numa Hotel in Ha giang. After not being able to go on the loop last minute (knee injury), he suggested this homestay and my god was it amazing! The location is about 3km out of the city however taxi was cheap and easy to book. The owners were very very kind and gave me free Bananas, cucumbers, cinnamon and waters, they even offered free extra dinner. Bin their little girl is so funny (she loves crafts and hair accessories) and will show you around the neighbourhood. The bungalow was absolutely stunning, with a hammock overlooking the river, which you can swim in and they even have a natural pool which they fill up with fresh clean water that comes from the mountain. It was so relaxing and welcoming a extended my stay and was super lucky to be the only guest there in the low time. I highly recommend staying here, its quiet and peaceful, I recommend booking direct with the homestay as it is cheaper than booking.com Will definitely be returning in the future

The location was just incredible. No more words needed! I feel like I was reborn in the calmness of the jungle with the sound of the water stream! The owner, Mr Anh was very friendly and very knowledgeable, he even invited me to enjoy lunch with his whole family! What a great experience, I couldn’t recommend it more

It was such a little piece of heaven. Right on the river, there's also a beautiful natural pool. Everything is lush and green, the place smells amazing and close enough to town it's easy to get to. But far enough away to it's also easy to escape everything as well. The family is so amazing and kind, there's a little girl there named Binh, (if you're able) try to drop her off some art stuff/school supplies. Thankyou so much for all the stories, laughter and amazing food Fathien family! And to all the local kids for showing us so many cool swimming spots along the river! Btw, beds are super comfy and rooms are well maintained/ventilated with fans and air conditioners.

The only thing is I wished the hot water didn't run out so fast! It was REALLY hot and hard to get to cool down and by the time I'd have that sorted there'd be none left. But honestly, it's worth over looking for everything else this place has to experience. And often times (we were there in the end of July, so it was incredibly hot) it was often too hot outside to want to use hot water anyways.

This is a beautiful, peaceful homestay. The family is lovely and attentive. We stayed in one of the bungalow with a river view and a hammock, which was very relaxing. The rooms have air con, and the wifi was super fast. There's also a river water pool. The family offers a breakfast and dinner, which was delicious. Highly recommend!

Wir wurden von unserem sehr netten Host empfangen und bekamen sogar ein Zimmer Upgrade. Das Bungalow war wirklich sehr schön, der Balkon mit Blick auf den Fluss auch toll. Das hausgemacht Essen unglaublich lecker, mitsamt selbst angebautem Reis und selbst gemachtem Happy Water. Auch der Pool, der mit Bergwasser versorgt wurde und sehr erfrischend war, war klasse. Der Host war wirklich sehr großzügig und freundlich zu uns, konnte gut englisch und hat uns auch einiges über Vietnam und den Ha Giang Loop Tourismus näher gebracht.

Alles war einfach wunderbar. Sehr nette Atmosphäre und freundliche Besitzer, die immer helfen wenn es nötig ist, Pool mit frischen Wasser, nette Zimmer bzw. kleine Hütte direkt am Fluss. Gutes Essen und Frühstück verfügbar, gutes großes Bett, Küche, Fahrrad...Preis-Leistung ist top! Tolle Lage wenn man Natur, Wald und die Nachbarschaft der heimischen Menschen schätzt.

Attention, on entend beaucoup la foret et les animaux sur le toit. Il ne faut pas craindre d’avoir des insectes dans la chambre. Les repas sont plutot bons mais parfois répétitifs.

Un séjour parfait ! La propriétaire est d'une gentillesse et d'une serviabilité remarquables. Le point fort a été le repas du soir, qui était tout simplement excellent. Côté confort, la chambre est grande, très fonctionnelle, d'une propreté irréprochable et dotée d'une literie très confortable. C'est un endroit paisible qui offre un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Je reviendrai avec grand plaisir !

This is undoubtedly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ve been traveling for over a decade! It’s a little piece of heaven, nestled in stunning nature, yet conveniently close to the town. The family is incredibly kind and welcoming, and I always felt so loved and cared for. Angh, his niece, and little Bin are some of the most genuine and kind-hearted people I’ve met. I ended up staying for a full week, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I met some amazing people during my time here, and we shared several fantastic dinners, all thanks to Angh’s warm hospitality and generosity. Food always was super fresh and delicious and we had a lot of fun! I enjoyed so much tasty pancakes for the breakfast! The bungalows are built with natural materials and offer breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding forest. They are clean, comfortable, and the perfect place to unwind, with hammocks on the balcony. I already miss them all and would love to return someday. Thank you so much, dear people! You will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️

Un petit bout de paradis le Faithien Homestay ! On a passé un séjour exceptionnel. On était passé à Ha Giang sur la route de Sapa, initialement pour 3 jours mais on y a finalement passé 6 jours tellement c'était bien. C'était même encore mieux que ce qu'on avait prévu. Tout d'abord l'endroit est magique : très beau, très soigné, hyper relax. Gros plus pour la piscine naturelle en pierre avec l'eau qui vient direct de la montagne. La rivière en contre-bas dans laquelle on peut se baigner. Et ensuite on avait pris une chambre, on a changé en cours de séjour pour tester le bungalow, les deux étaient supers mais c'est vrai que le bungalow est incroyable ! Avec petit balcon et hamac qui donne sur la rivière. Enfin, nous avons adoré rencontrer Anh et sa famille, on a été superbement accueillis, d'une gentillesse et d'une bienveillance sans commune mesure. On a pu en apprendre beaucoup sur leur communauté. Ils cultivent et élèvent toute la nourriture qui est servie le soir. La cuisine est excellente. Vous pouvez vous promener dans les environs, la ville n'est pas loin, vous pouvez prendre des vélos. C'est une expérience inoubliable, et parfaite pour ceux qui recherchent un endroit hors de l'agitation de la ville et dans lequel vous pouvez trouver toute la sérénité dont vous avez besoin. Communication with the Homestay was seamless and appreciated they were able to check us in late. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed! They also let us do laundry there for free so that was a HUGE plus and the meals were delightful.

Every evening, we loved watching the children swimming and playing in the water, a joyful and authentic local moment that made our stay very special. There is also a small natural stone swimming pool filled with fresh river water. It is a real pleasure to cool off there after a day of exploring ☀️ On my first day, I rode a scooter around the Ha Giang loop 🛵, which was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Coming back to the homestay afterwards truly felt like coming home 🏡 But the real treasure of this place is the family ❤️ Their welcome is absolutely exceptional. Excellent host, very helpful with booking private loop tour, taxis to town and bus to Sapa. Excellent dinner made by his family. Lovely view from the room of the river and village children playing in the river. We were able to join them for a swim and that was a highlight. Air conditioning worked well. Loved the hammock on the balcony.

It was nice to be out of the noise of Ha Giang and in the more rural setting, but you will need a taxi to get into town. Fortunately, host is very willing to help with this.

This could very well be the best place I ever had the pleasure to stay in. Faithien Homestay is run by the family who are also the owners, which you can feel every day by how this place is run. The entire neighborhood is absolutely friendly and welcoming. After just a few days I almost felt like home and extended my stay from 2 to ~8 days. The owners son Kai was extremely nice as well and always had a big smile on his face whenever I needed something. I did not only find one of the greatest places but also a couple of friends in this Homestay. Hope to be there soon again!

Beautiful property with the right amount of facilities and out of the way so you could relax from the city life, the noise from the animals and the running stream next to the accommodation were perfect not to loud so you felt relaxed and could sleep no problem. The owners were very nice people giving free bananas fresh from the garden and advice for the ha giang loop also letting me leave my bag on my travels. The food on the night cooked fresh and very tastycouldn’t recommended more

Everything was amazing. We stayed for 2 nights and was the cleanest homestay we have stayed. The room was big and cosy. The location was perfect spot to relax and go for walks. The pool was a great to relax and cool off after a day walking. We ate at the homestay both nights with the family which was very nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in ha Giang.

I liked the views and nature, calmness of the valley and occasional meetings with locals. The natural pool is amazing. The food is awesome too (I don't eat after sunset, but I saw how the guests were really enjoying) the dinner). The owner was very attentive and helpful. He even paid for my taxi trip in my next destination, I mean, what is this if not family attitude? Please come, and enjoy Ur life here. Don't even doubt, this place will nurture U!

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, very proud of and knowledgeable about their locality. Best food I've had in all the homestays I've visited. Nearly all produced by the family and organic. Free self-service laundry. Lively social scene (not karaoke, actual talking) at dinner most evenings, copious happy water, beautiful areas up river from the location. Less than ten minutes by bike from town centre, but far enough out to be peaceful, with a special energy not often found. Can't recommend highly enough.

It gets incredibly hot in Ha giang (44°) and the room didn’t have air con and only a small weak fan so had the worst nights sleep since 4 months of travel l, this was made worse by the drunk guests who would not be quiet

Wow where to start!!! The hosts are beyond helpful and so fun. The dinner each night was amazing and cooked with love. The bungalow is so beautiful and there is a river on the property. You can swim in it during the day and you can hear it at night from the room. I want to write a book about how much I love this place. They helped us with the motor bikes for the ha giang loop and helped us figure out the route. I love them. I love this place.

We like the location, it is out of town a few km so is quiet and right along the river. Nice balcony with comfortable hammock. We ate breakfast and dinner there, enjoyed both. The staff was very good. Ang (spelling may be wrong), the owner, was wonderful, friendly and helpful, he found us a car and driver to do the Ha Giang Loop over 3 days 2 nights, price was excellent value, driver was great (we used Google Translate to communicate), vehicle was large and comfortable. The bed at Fathien was comfortable, room was good size. I would highly recommend and would stay there again.

The food was great and the people were very friendly. It was a good spot to start on some hikes. The house was nice and pretty and clean.

My best homestay experience ever. Anh and his nephew Linh are so friendly, and in a very genuine way. They don't try to sell you anything unless you ask - but anything you ask for, they will make sure you get it. The most enjoyable part of the stay is dinner-time - all of the food is organic and comes straight from their family's farm. And even better, you get to enjoy the dinner with Anh and Linh, along with the other guests, sharing stories and rice wine, and learning about Vietnamese and Tày culture. 10/10 rating without a doubt. It is exceptional how much this family is willing to give to their guests.

We’ve stayed in a lot of homestays in Vietnam but he is for sure the sweetest host we’ve had. He helped us plan our ha giang loop, cleaned our motorbike and checked if everything was safe. They made us delicious dinner and the house was super clean. Highly recommend!!

Loved this place. The owner is super nice & smiling. Eats with you at meals. The food was good. The location was perfect. Outside the city so very quiet. He upgraded my room to a bungalow and the bathroom is nice :) Hot water, pressure with the shower. The room was confortable. The view from the bedroom is incredible. You see the river and hear it non stop. I loved that. I stayed an extra day and night so that I could walk through the river to go to the waterfalls and what an incredible day. The dogs followed us and showed us the way. Put shoes on to walk on slippery rocks under the water.

Anh and his family is so friendly. He upgraded us cos it was empty. We had a balcony overlooking a river with a hammock. He built the whole thing himself and they cook amazing meals there.

Tuan who runs the place is a gorgeous man, the lovely sounds of the river result in a deep sleep. It is beautiful surroundings and not so far from town, but fully quiet: no traffic sounds. Tuan and his family cook delicious food every night and take good care of you. Also my friend Maggie lost her wallet in a taxi and Tuan stayed up all night and the next day tracking it down and returning it to us. So so caring, it is a place of love and care here :) Also they can rent you motorbikes and bicycles here, but there are walks up the river or up the mountain which are easy to do

No complaints really, because the staff here have said that they are happy to receive any criticism so they may improve. There is nothing i can think of, it's genuinely the best accomodation I've had when travelling :)

Staying here was heaven. It's a serene alternative to staying in the town of Hà Giang (short walk or only 10 mins in taxi). We had a balcony with a hammock overlooking the river and forest. I had the best hot shower in all of Vietnam !! (The hot water never ran out). The food every night was sooo delicious and the hosts were attentive and kind. We extended our stay and stayed again after completing the Hà Giang loop.

We loved our stay at Ha Giang Faithien Homestay and hope to return. It's a quiet, scenic property nestled up in the hills a little bit away from the main town, but with easy access to town by motorbike, taxi, or bicycle, which you can rent at the homestay. The owner, Anh, is extremely warm, generous, and accommodating, as is the rest of his family. The double rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the bungalow (where we stayed for one of two nights) has a private bathroom with a hot shower and a porch with lovely views of the river and surrounding mountains. The operation is more or less self-sufficient. Anh and his family built all of the structures themselves, and the meals are made from food raised on the property. Dinners, cooked by Anh's nephew Ling, are delicious and can be made vegetarian upon request. They also come with homebrewed rice wine. Anh went out of his way to make us comfortable, not only helping us arrange a one-day ride on the Ha Giang Loop and giving us a super late check out, but also patiently answering all of our many questions about the region, the Tay people, Vietnamese society, and more. It was truly enjoyable to stay here, and I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone.

This homestay was the most welcoming I’ve been to so far. Everyone was generous, attentive and willing to communicate. I came for two nights and stayed the whole week. The family is very busy but when they had time they took us on adventures in the area. You get towels, hot shower, filtered water, and the food is really good! Having dinner with the other guest and the family was great and I ate way too much every evening.

This place was perfect, it’s a gem. we stayed there 2 nights and we come back one night after the Ha Giang Loop, it felt like coming back home. The owner and his family are so kind, welcoming and helpful. He helped us with transport, and to organize our itinerary for the loop. The family dinner feels literally like it, the food is amazing, the people we met there were so lovely, and the happy water flows 😉 This place is hidden in the middle of nature, just next to a river, it’s so peaceful, quiet, you can do small hikes around ! The beds are comfortable, hot water, you can have breakfast on the morning. The value for money is the best we had since the beginning of our trip. Surrounded by nature, this delightful homestay is the perfect place to recharge. Ha Giang town is a 20min bike ride away, there are scooters and bicycles to rent - so getting around is easy. Anh is an incredibly warm and kindhearted host, going above and beyond making sure all guests are happy and have everything they need... In the evenings we gathered for a tasty dinner with happy water - it was a great way to hear local stories and meet the other travellers, you feel part of a family here. If you are lucky enough to stay in one of the beautiful bungalows by the river you will never want to leave…. Pure bliss. Looking forward to returning to Faithien homestay:)

Very helpfull hosts. I really enjoyed the evening meals good food and conversations. Its right by the river so perfect to pop down for a quick swim. They also have some great cottages overlooking the river.

Great host, great food and a beautiful, safe and comfortable house/ room. I was warm and patiently received at midnight at Fai Thien Homestay, where I ended up spending 2 nights in their village.The hosts are truly amazing kind-hearted people, caring and very helpful.They gave me tips to explore around their village, and helped me with my travel to the next village. Travelling from the busy cities, here I could finally rest and see smily faces on the road. Highly recommend if you're interested in experiencing some time with a local homestay -Tay group. Anh's homestay was the highlight of our trip to Vietnam, the hosts were beyond hospitable, going the extra length to make sure we were comfortable in all aspects of our stay. Their cooking was amongst the best we've had during our time in Vietnam. I will be coming back to Ha Giang and staying at this property.

They started building a room at 6:30am on Sunday morning right next to my bungalow. They moved me to a bigger bungalow, also overlooking the river. I wish they had just put me in the 2nd bunglalow to start with, as my sleep was disrupted very early in the morning

Beautiful stunning place in nature. It's so green all around, so peaceful and serene. There's an amazing river right below the bungalows. I loved going down there for a swim. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough

Beautiful home close to town and the river. Dinner was lovely as well, and the family was helpful in booking me a taxi into town.

The room prices are a little weird. I booked the most expensive private room available and it seemed to be the same as the other price tiers.

It’s a nice place and good value for money. Away from hustle of main town. There’s a river at back, accessible and nice for the hot day to have a swim. Dinner was good, bit pricey though. Met some good people

There’s no AC at property, but they upgraded me to bungalow with river view.

Such a peaceful and beautiful location. For the first night I was the only one staying in the bungalows so I had the porch to myself and it was absolutely magical sitting outside and watching the rain over the forest. The owner is also lovely and answered all of my questions about the region and it’s people over a lovely home cooked dinner. Very accommodating and an overall great spot to come down and relax a bit. Would’ve stayed longer if I had more time!

It is in nature so there is a lot of insects which is something you have to know. However, you have a mosquito net and I didn’t mind either, it’s just a full natural experience!

If you stay here you will have found paradise. It is located amongst beautiful native forest and river with a welcoming, friendly and helpful local family. All my troubles disappeared the moment I arrived and was welcomed by Ling and Mr Thien. You can swim in the river , walk the mountains, eat a delicious home cooked feast or use it as a base for other trips which they will help you arrange at very cheap rates (they booked me a motorbike for a few days at a cheaper rate than town) options of cabins looking over a river or separate rooms in the communal house makes this place unbeatable value and you won’t want to leave

This homestay is completely amazing with completely the most best views one could ever see.. looking over both mountains and rivers you swim two secs the host are so friendly. Infact bend over backwards to help in any occasion.. it has been a complete pleasure to stay I was inly going to stay one but it was nice peaceful tropical I need up staying two weeks ..I definitely recommend it any especially you own huts which look directly over the river it has been a please and their no doubt I will be back. And the host the uncle os the most helpful man I ever meet on my travels. Just incredible. You need to see and try to believe it.. xx

Host and his family is very accommodating… homestay is peaceful. food is grate. have vegan option. The host, Anh helped me book my bus and EZ rider for the loop… Cuong my EZ Rider is awesome. made sure I was safe and had a good time during my tour. I highly recommend this place.

The tenant of this house is one of the most welcoming, kind and honest person we’ve met in all our time in Vietnam! He has rooms in the main house and two beautiful bangalows placed at the end of the garden over the cliff, a river passing underneath and the deep jungle at loosing sight as a view from the balcony! You only hear the sound of water going down the valley.. this is paradise! Prepare yourself for beautiful conversations around a very tasty dinner, lunch or breakfast.. this is one of our best stay in all Vietnam ! Thank you again Anh! 🙏😊

The place is by the river where you can swim, they have very nice bungalows with hot water and nice balcony. The food is very nice and the staff is amazing (left our luggages before the loop and came back to pick it up after)
