Amazing place to have a truly local experience in a very nice family. We were very fortunate to spend there two nights. The beds were very comfortable, hot shower, working air conditioner. The breakfasts and dinners were very tasty. And in general we felt like very special guests in the family.

WOW! Absolutely blown away by Anu and her family. They were incredibly kind and hospitable throughout my stay. The room was immaculate, the shower was hot and the AC worked very well. Breakfast was a feast and dinner (very reasonably priced) it was the best I’ve had while travelling! I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone else who is looking to stay in Dambulla or Sigirya!

Ruhige Lage abseits der Straße. Die beiden vermieteten Zimmer liegen hinter dem Wohnhaus des Vermieters und wurden vor kurzem renoviert. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit, der Bruder hat TukTuk. Vor allem das Abendessen der Mutter ist hervorragend. Am besten vom Bruder an der Busstation abholen lassen, denn (zur Zeit zumindest) fehlt das Schild an der Straße und das Haus liegt etwas hinterhalb.

Piumi estuvo siempre pendiente de todo. Habitación amplia con aire acondicionado,baño sencillo pero muy limpio. Desayuno muy rico 😋 y el primer día salíamos pronto y nos prepararon desayuno para llevar. Su hermano tiene un tuk tuk que te ayuda a movilizarte si no quieres caminar ( a buen precio). El check out lo hicimos tarde y nos permitieron usar la habitación. Naturaleza total

Vriendelijke gastvrouw, met zeer behulpzame broer (met eigen tuktuk). Ze regelden safari naar minneriya national park (prima prijs), de rit naar Pidurangala Rock en vervoer naar en van het verblijf. Het verblijf ligt op loopafstand van de Gouden Boeddha. Vrijstaand gebouw met veranda en 2 aparte kamers. Prima bedden, goed werkende airco, redelijke wifi. Het ontbijt en avondeten was lekker en er werd rekening gehouden met wensen.

De prijs voor het avondeten was aan de hoge kant. Het verblijf ligt wat afgelegen om naar een restaurantje te lopen.

The family which runs this property are very good and humble. Owner was kind enough to pick us directly from bus stand to the Homestay. They served authentic Srilankan food which was very tasty. Royal cave temple and Dambulla stadium are quite near and we can get tuk tuk easily. Go to place to stay if you are visiting sigiriya and Dambulla.

Soggiorno fantastico, Anu e Priyantha sono super gentili e disponibili per qualsiasi richiesta. Abbiamo cenato entrambi i giorni a casa loro, cucina autentica e buonissima. Consigliatissimo!

Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist unschlagbar. Für so wenig Geld gibt's eine tolle Unterkunft und ein super leckeres Frühstück. Dazu total freundliche Gastgeber, die einen vom Bus abholen und jede Frage beantworten. Das Zimmer ist gut ausgestattet, alles da, was man braucht, Internet top, Klimaanlage etc. Die Felsenhöhlen sind fußläufig erreichbar, dazu herrlicher Fels und See in Nähe. Die Gastgeber bieten eine Vielzahl von Ausflügen zu fairen Preisen an (selber wegen Zeitmangel nicht gebucht). Fazit: rundum empfehlenswert!

La familia os ayudará en cualquier cosa necesitéis como desplazamientos en la ciudad, Sigyria y otras atracciones a precios muy honestos. Desayunos y cenas abundantes y buenas. Familia encantadora.

The room was really beautiful and spacious. Our host prepared for us delicious dinner and breakfast - we were amazed, really.

We were a bit afraid of monkeys which were all around our house, but our host helped us every time she saw that we were scared.

Our hosts were very welcoming and made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We had the pleasure to try some really great authentic local food for breakfast and dinner. Really enjoyed our two nights here, would definitely stay again.

Amazing hospitality and cute little room tucked up in the trees away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Some of the best meals in sri lanka yet and super helpful hosts, who have us plenty of advice and even dropped us at the temple :)

The owners are wonderful, helpful and friendly. They will help you organize any trip. The room is basic, as described, the conditions are adequate to the price of the room. Breakfast and the dinners we bought were great. The best food in Sri Lanka, you can try everything, and every day something different :)

We had a great time in dambulla. The host drove us to the sights in a tuktuk for a voluntary tip and the sisters cooked for us. In the evening they also served up a good meal and it was one of the best dinners we had in Sri Lanka. The room is nice, there are two fans and they always put mosquito incense spirals under the table.

The treatment and hospitality has been incredible, the outside area of the house is amazing and the house is great. They came to pick us up and made all the trips easier for us with a family tuk tuk.

Was made to feel very welcome. Picked up at Dambulla bus stop on arrival by the lady owner, free of charge, who communicated via WhatsApp throughout my stay, ensuring everything was ok. I ate a home cooked vegetarian meal each evening made by the mother which was excellent, served at table on the veranda outside the room. Perfect, quiet location within easy walking distance of most attractions. The brother is most helpful with advice on places to see and things to do, has his own tuktuk so can take you around if so required. All in all a perfect place to stay in Dambulla.

AMAZING food! Probably the best food we had jn Sri Lanka. Very helpful and nice owners. It is run by the family that also provides tuk tuk service, which was very convenient.

We dinner there once and the food was very good but we found it overpriced. Accommodation and bathroom is a good value for money. They proposed us a safari trip to Hurulu which was a nice experience and we saw many elephants!

Place could be a bit cleaner and the internet was not working for us. If you like to make your own plans you can find it overwhelming as hosts want to arrange everything for you. Some people might like it, just be aware of it. The owner organized a scooter for us - which was nice, but it was also highly overpriced as in all other parts of Sri Lanka scooter rental was much cheaper.

Location of this place is perfect to visit the Cave Temple (also 20 minutes walking to bus station in the center), but the main thing that made our stay there remarkable was Anu, her kindness and her family. The breakfast is variable and simply amazing and we also had twice dinner there; price is cheaper than most of other places in the country, but for the quality offered I would have paid even more. In the moring you can enjoy a tea in the patio watching monkeys and the humid forest's fauna vitality. What you can expect but you can't complain about considering the location: insects and cold water. They are really helpful if you need any information about public transports or places of interests, they can also organize private tours; we did book a safari with them and it was a nice experience.

If you like to organize everything on your own you can often find yoursef in the situation to politly refuse their tour offers.

The location was perfect for a nice little trek to the Cave temple which was why i was there. The family were lovely and the food was brilliant!

The best location ever in Dambulla!! The host family was simply amazing! Anu was extremely kind and cute and help us giving us many information about our trip, Pianta brought us around the city with his tuktuk and let us discover the local part of the city. The mum prepare for us incredibly tasty dinner and breakfast! The location is wonderful, in the middle of the forest!

The hosts were super sweet. They really tried to do everything to make my stay as comfortable and memorable as possible, including a free pickup from where the bus dropped me off and advices on where to go and how to achieve my goals. The room matched its price: it was simple, but cozy and clean. A socket distributor was provided for multiple UK and EU plugs. The breakfast was also simple, but plentiful and gave enough boost for the day. The terrace of the room is really nice. (And I can’t stress how friendly and helpful were the hosts, which is a big plus!) Both the main bus station and the golden temple are in a walking distance (around 900 meters).

There was no aircon, which is okay, because it’s not listed as a feature, but the two fans (one standing, one on the wall next to the double bed) didn’t do a good job either and the room was way hotter than outside. However, leaving the door open and/or opening the windows was not advised, so I couldn’t lower the temperature to my desired level. This may be just my personal level of tolerance towards heat, but be warned if you would like a cool(er) night sleep.

Anu and her family took a really good are of us - helping us with transportation, giving us tips, cooking, organizing trips.The breakfast and the first day dinner were delicious (they are really great cooks!). The apartment is well equipped and t is near the garden, where you can observe monkeys, birds. Nice place with nice people. Thanks for hosting us!

It was extremely hot those days and as we are not used to such temperatures we wanted to take the things slow. We told it to our hosts when we arrived. They were proposing us to organize activities such as safari etc all the time - and we were politely refusing that all the time. Still we agreed to go for a trip to Pidurangala. Te host asked us at the breakfast before, just before we went for a walk to the temple. She said that she would organize us tuk-tuk ride with a visit to ayuverdic garden. When we said then that we were not so into those gardens - she was convincing us that it was for free, nice etc. So after breakfast, as we planned the day before, we went for a walk to the temples. When we reached the top of the mountain and the temples we felt really really sick. We explained the situation to the host (it was still some time before the trip not last minute call). The host replied that she organized it for us, proposing to leave an hour later. We agreed to go for that trip to not make any troubles but still, the lack of empathy at that moment when we felt really sick and were not thinking clearly, left us with unpleasant feeling about our stay which was generally good. Especially that the host was aware of the weather conditions and from very beginning we told her about our plans. She knew that the way to temple (which is on the top of the mountains, and you need to climb the stairs) may be pretty hard that day. By the way: the ayuverdic garden we visited is kind of tourist trap which sells bad quality products (different than they show) and they are overpriced - so not so nice as it meant to be.

Very homely and spacious. In close proximity to major sites. Incredible food and truthful local experience. Hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly and really look after you during the stay. They take hosting to another level!

The family running this place is awesome. The host prepared the BEST dinner and breakfast two days in a row, everything was delicious. The room was clean and has a very nice terrace for eating and seeing monkeys :). Also the brother picked us up from the bus station. It was above expectations, definitely a place to come back! Amazing owners with open heart - they even helped us to organize our stay in Dambulla (safari and a little sights recommended). The location is superb. The breakfast and dinner is a must - best examples of Sri Lankan food. We had fantastic time chatting with the owners on the terrace.

The owner was really friendly and hospitable. The Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing, we've got to try many local dishes. The brother of the owner was really nice as well. Offered to drive us to Rose Quartz Mountain and Pidurangala Rock, even with a little detour where we spotted some local wildlife (pea cocks and even a crocodile). Definetely would recommend staying here!

The brother of the host picked us up from the bus station when we randomly met him there which was so nice! Everything was very clean and the breakfast was delicious and something new every day. The view to the garden is very beautiful. The host and her whole family was very nice and welcoming and drove us to the bus station on our last day. All in all a great stay! Thank you so much!

The hosts could not have been more friendly helpful and kind. The terrace is a wonder of wildlife including naughty monkeys. The breakfast and evening meals were better than most restaurants.

The host was incredibly nice and helpful. Her family was great as well, her brother took us to Polonnaruwa for the day for a VERY reasonable price and made sure we were not missing out on the best spots on the way. The room was really nice and the view from the terrace was extremely enjoyable. We had a boiler and some tea in the room which was great. The dinner was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka, prepared by the family. Breakfast was typical and wonderful.

Hosts were super helpful. Place is great, in a very peaceful place and convenient. Walking distance from Cave Temple. Breakfast and dinner were the best meal I’ve had in Sri Lanka!

We had a great stay in Dambulla. Very friendly and warm family that make you feel welcome. The dinner cooked by the mother of the family was absolutely amazing! We were offered a tour by the brother in his tuk tuk which was great.

We enjoyed the tour we were offered, except for the aryuveda garden. Seconds after we left we felt we had fallen into a big tourist trap and a bit of googling confirmed our suspicions.. the tour guide will tell you the tour is free because the garden is controlled by the government but somehow we left spending a lot of money on things.. my advice is to google about these gardens and then decide if you want to do this part of the tour, it left us with an unpleasant feeling which is unfortunate as the rest of the stay and tour was very nice.

The location, you can easily walk to the caves. I loved the garden, it' wild jungle, it is so beautiful when you sit on the porch and look those monkeys jumping. The dinner was great, sri lankan rice and curry, very good. The welcome tea with some sweets (milk rice etc) was so lovely.

The matress was not so good, but I did sleep well. Cold shower.

We wanted to feel different Sri Lanka and this place was the best choose, a must try experience. First of all because there you may get the best national food, won’t get such in any restaurant (if you get lucky try not only breakfast but also dinner, we were :) ). Second you will get a real home feeling of living in a village house, with exceptional owner, monkeys and etc. Thanks!!!

Everything was more then we expected

Heartwarming hospitality and delicious food What a fantastic stay at Sunvsh Homestay. The host Anu is very friendly as soon as the booking was confirmed she were helped to planned the trip we needed at a low price compared to other places. Location is very good short walking to Dambulla Rock Temple and City Centre. While having breakfast you can watch birds, butterflies, squirrel and monkeys in the garden. Anu's mother food is excellent. We enjoyed sri Lankan rice and curry. Definitely the best meals that we had in sri Lanka. I would recommend eating there if you stay don't miss that amazing opportunity and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend people stay here.

Some of the kindest hosts we've ever stayed with! Anu and her family do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. Anu's mother is an amazing cook and the breakfast (which is included) is traditional Sri Lankan and super delicious and there's almost too much of it, you will never leave hungry! The same goes for the dinner which is also strongly recommended. The terrace is super nice, with a view of the garden where monkeys and other animals sometimes come to visit. The location is good with just a short walk to the cave temples, the city center or the bus terminal. The room was basic but spacious and clean, and the bed had a mosquito net. We will definitely come back if we're in Dambulla again someday and will recommend everyone to stay here!

It can get a bit hot inside the room but we had two working fans, and the hospitality of the family more than makes up for it.
