Das U New Guest House ist eine einfache, aber sehr saubere Unterkunft. Unser Bett war bequem, die Klimaanlage funktionierte zuverlässig, Moskitonetze waren vorhanden und auch der Wasserdruck war gut. Die vier Zimmer liegen nebeneinander an einer gemeinsamen Veranda. Da die Unterkunft mitten im lebendigen Nilaveli liegt und man den Außenbereich mit den anderen Gästen teilt, kann es natürlich immer nur so ruhig sein wie die Menschen um einen herum. Das Besondere an diesem Ort ist für mich aber Uthaya. Sie ist eine unglaublich warmherzige und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Bei Fragen ist sie immer ansprechbar und vermittelt zuverlässig Kontakte, wenn man beispielsweise ein Fahrzeug benötigt oder einen Ausflug unternehmen möchte. Obwohl sie nicht viel Englisch spricht, konnten wir uns mit Google Übersetzer wunderbar verständigen. Und ihr Frühstück ist großartig! Besonders die warmen Bananen-Kokos-Rotis am Morgen haben wir sehr geliebt, aber auch das sri-lankische Frühstück und ihr Dal waren ausgesprochen lecker. Ich habe großen Respekt davor, was Uthaya hier praktisch alleine leistet: Sie kümmert sich um ihre Gäste, macht die Zimmer selbst sauber und bereitet gleichzeitig jeden Morgen das Frühstück für ihre Gäste frisch zur gewünschten Uhrzeit zu.

Sehr nette Gastgeberin, hat uns ein früheres Check-in ermöglicht. Konnten vor Ort auch für wenig Geld frühstücken. Viele Restaurants in Laufnähe, auch zum Strand nur max. 5min.

Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt gut, aber nicht sehr gut. Das Zimmer und das Bad ist sehr hübsch gestaltet. Der Aussenbereich ist okay, aber nicht extrem gemütlich. Die Eigentümerin hat zwar hübsche Pflanzen gepflanzt, aber der Ort versprüht keinen Charme. Es ist eher ein staubiger Innenhof mit Pflanzen als eine Oase. Je nach Zimmer schaut man auf der Terrasse an eine weisse Wand. Die Eigentümerin ist sehr bemüht und macht einen wirklich guten Job. Man kann dort auch Essen bestellen. Wir hatten in zwei von drei Nächten lauter Lärm in der Nachbarschaft, und zwar spät am Abend und dann am Morgen erneut - dafür kann die Eigentümerin natürlich nichts. Aber es hat uns schon etwas genervt. Man sollte zudem die Distanzen nicht unterschätzen: Nilaveli erstreckt sich relativ weit. Auch wenn das Meer auf der Karte sehr nahe aussieht, hat man gut 10-15 Minuten Gehzeit, bis man am Strand ist. Die Strasse in der Nähe ist die Hauptstrasse und es hat dort mehrere Restaurants.

We had a 10/10 stay! She is absolutely wonderful and incredibly thoughtful. She even left us detergent and is always willing to give without expecting anything in return. Her husband also runs diving excursions around the reefs, which is a fantastic experience. Without a doubt, we highly recommend staying at this property!

Wir waren als Familie 2 Nächte dort. Die Lage ist perfekt, nicht weit vom Meer entfernt. Die Gastgeberin war sehr liebenswürdig und hilfsbereit, mein Sohn war krank in dieser Zeit und sie hat sofort Hilfe angeboten. Das Frühstück war lecker und sehr reichlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

The location was great so close to the beach and easy for hiring a scooter and restaurants. The owners were so sweet looking after us so well. Breakfasts were delicious and they helped us with laundry and taxi bookings etc.

We had a realy great stay in Nilaveli. We felt right at home in the U new guest House. The accommodation is in a great location, 5–10 minutes from the beach. It takes about the same time to walk in the opposite direction to the lake to enjoy the sunsets. The rooms are clean and spacious. The owner is really friendly and helpful. Despite the language barrier, she helped us organise a whale-watching tour and cooked delicious meals for us. The food is superb. It’s the best curry and rice we’ve had so far on our trip through Sri Lanka.

La pension est très agréable car il y a une grande terrasse et possibilité de se poser devant la chambre avec un ventilateur au plafond. Notre chambre était équipée de la climatisation et d'un ventilateur. C'était propre et pratique. C'est à moins de 10 minutes de la plage et il y a aussi un super salon de massage tout à côté. On se sent comme chez soi. Il y a un grand fil à linge à l'entrée, c'est cool, pratique, sans chichi et Uthaya est à l'écoute et facilement joignable sur WhatsApp. Nous recommandons cet établissement sans hésiter.

Rien. Pour info, il y a un tissu pour se couvrir au lit mais ce n'est pas un drap. Pour les inconditionnels comme nous, prévoir un drap jetable (on en avait 2, c'est hyper léger).

Zeer vriendelijke eigenaresse die iedere dag een lekker ontbijt maakt tegen een klein prijsje. Het guesthouse ligt op 5-10 min lopen van het strand en er zijn voldoende restaurantjes in de buurt. De kamers zijn eenvoudig maar in verhouding tot de prijs is het meer dan prima. Wij verbleven hier met ons gezin en hadden niets te klagen.

Als je op zoek bent naar luxe en comfort dan is dit niet jouw accommodatie.

La guest house con il miglior rapporto qualità prezzo della storia. Cortesia, gentilezza, pulizia, accoglienza...tutto è andato oltre ogni aspettativa. Camera spaziosa e confortevole. Check-in e checkout premurosi e flessibili. Un bel thè al benvenuto e un buon caffè all'arrivederci. Impossibile trovare di meglio.

Alloggio modesto, camera non grandissima, noi abbiamo preso una camera senza aria condizionata ed eravamo consapevoli di spendere poco però di soffrire poi il caldo, contando che si sta tutto il giorno al mare si può sopportare. La colazione non era inclusa e non ne abbiamo usufruito.

Très bien situé au calme mais proche de la plage (à 5min à pieds). La chambre était spacieuse confortable et bien équipée. Tout était propre et fonctionnel. La dame qui s’occupe des chambres et de la nourriture était très active et arrangeante. Ses petits déjeuners étaient délicieux. Merci pour sa gentillesse.

Zeer vriendelijke dame was altijd klaar om te helpen en maakte heel lekker ontbijt. Kamers waren zeer goed (ruim genoeg, airco, goede muggennetten, douche ok…) en het tafeltje buiten voor de deur met ventilator was ook leuk. Ideaal op wandelafstand van strand en restaurants.

Uitstekende ligging, prima kamer met airco,heerlijk bed, kamer was net nieuw. Ontzettend lieve gastvrouw die een heerlijk ontbijt verzorgde. Niets was teveel, ze ging zelfs nog op de scooter toast halen voor het ontbijt.

Klein minpuntje, geen warm water, geen ramp met die warmte maar soms is warm water wel fijn met douchen.

We liked everything: The room was rather small but offered everything we needed, was modern and clean. The bathroom was spacious and well-designed. Lovely outdoor seating with a much-needed fan. Kitchen access with a fridge. Very good Wifi. Close to lots of restaurants and the beach. Although there was a bit of a language barrier, our host was lovely and accommodating, cooked us a nice and very affordable breakfast. We did not see very much of her towards the end of the of our stay, but very understandably so: her daughter was having a baby - congratulations 🎉

Just a very minor detail: a soap dish closer to the shower would be very convenient.

We had a lovely stay here. Very clean and comfy. Restaurants next door and down the road. 5 mins from the beach. I accidentally booked one more night than I was meant to and she very kindly accepted my request to change the dates whilst we were here.

Ursprünglich planten wir nur einen Aufenthalt von 4 Tagen, da es aber hier so schön und gastfreundschaftlich war verlängerten wir unseren Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber. Die Gastgeberin war unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war fantastisch, wir hatten das Cococnut Roti. Preislich hat alles gestimmt. Falls jemand einen Aufenthalt in Nilaveli plant kann ich es nur empfehlen.

Quel bonheur d'être accueilli dans cette guesthouse. La gentillesse du couple qui nous a accueilli était incroyable. Les repas (nous avons pris petit déjeuner et souper) étaient succulents! Je recommande, c'est à 2 pas de la mer en plus. Nous étions tristes de quitter les lieux tellement nous avons été bien accueillis

Camera ampia e pulita, con zanzariera e condizionatore, bagno comodo e funzionale, tavolino nel patio fuori, tutto molto piacevole! La signora è stata super gentile e accogliente! Buonissima la colazione: abbondante, ottima e super economica! Consigliatissimo!

Sehr nette Gastgeberin, die sich aufmerksam um ihre Gäste kümmert. Das Zimmer war groß genug und sehr sauber, die Klimaanlage hat super funktioniert. Man muss bei der Buchung beachten, dass nur zwei der drei Zimmer eine Klimaanlage haben. Das Frühstück (für 700 LKR pro Person am Tag) war ausgiebig und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Der wunderschöne Strand von Nilaveli ist fußläufig in ca. 7 min erreichbar. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Die Nachbarn stehen gerne früh auf, daher sind Ohrstöpsel zu empfehlen:)

Uthaya, the host, is great. She was kind, and always helped us out. The breakfasts are tasty and generous, and she even sourced fresh mackerel and prawns to make us two delicious and very good value dinners. This is a small guesthouse with 3 rooms and a shared terrace with your own seating area amongst the garden. It is quiet, walkable to Nilaveli beach and lots of food and drink options nearby. We had a large air-conditioned room which was spotless and comfortable, with mosquito nets, though we actually weren't bothered by them. Thank you!

We had a great stay here. The owner, Udhaya is super sweet and lovely. She looks delicious breakfast, so I'd recommend getting. Her place is so close to the beach and a couple of really tasty restaurants around - seafood or curries. The beac area itself is beautiful. The room was simple but very clean and as you would expect for the price.

Wenn man es authentisch will, dann sollte man nicht nur Nilaveli bereisen, sondern unbedingt das U new guest house als Unterkunft wählen. Super Preis-Leistung - Zimmer zweckmäßig ausgestattet, sehr sauber und 2 von drei Zimmern haben neben einem Ventilator zusätzlich AC. Ein Zimmer zum absoluten low-budget-Preis verfügt über einen Ventilator, was auch ok ist. Die Region ist im Sommer sehr heiß, aber trotzdem ein Muß für alle, die unter Einheimischen Urlaub machen wollen 😊 Der Strand ist sehr schön und 5-10min fußläufig von der Unterkunft gelegen - herrlich. Schattenplätze findet man dort nur unter Palmen - kein Touri-Strand wie gesagt. Das Beste an der Unterkunft ist allerdings die nette Gastgeberin! Ihre Kochkünste sind super, alles wird frisch zubereitet und schmeckt sehr gut - alles zum kleinen Preis. Wir haben täglich auf der Terrasse gefrühstückt und Abend gegessen - was und wann wir wollten, herrlich war das! Unsere Favoriten-Unterkunft 😊

Le logement est parfaitement placé à quelques minutes de la plage. Très fonctionnel et propre. La terasse adjacente est très agréable. La responsable des lieux est d'une gentillesse incroyable, attentionnée a ce qu'il ne vous manque rien. Je conseille vivement pour un rapport qualite prix excellent sur Nilavelli.

What a lovely place to stay, room very clean comfortable bed and very good airconditioning . The owners are lovely and helpful, you can order breakfast, lunch and dinner for a very cheap price and the food is gorgeous. We will definitely come back.

L'accueil et le sourire de l'hôte, toujours aux petits soin. Sa disponibilité et les équipements (frigo !). La literie et la salle de bains étaient très bien. La grande plage est vraiment proche (500 m), ce qui vous laisse quelques minutes pour sécher au retour. Le bus de Tricomalee (150 roupies) vous dépose sur la route principale à un petit kilomètres (200 roupies de tuktuk). Très bon emplacement pour les magnifiques plages au nord de la ville (30 km).

Nous aurions aimé échanger avec elle plus longuement, mais la barrière de la langue était là. Merci Google Traduction.

Emplacement parfait à 10 min à pieds de la plage de Nilaveli. Petit déjeuner très bien, Uthaya est aux petits soins avec ses clients :) Voyageant seule pour ma part, j'ai senti que j'étais comme avec une maman qui s'occupait de moi. Lorsque j'ai eu besoin de me déplacer plus loin, son voisin juste à côté a un tuk-tuk et il fait également des jus de fruits frais délicieux. Bref, une petite ambiance village aux petits soins avec les gens de passage :)

Incroyable, la dame est très sympa cets a coter de la plage 5 min à pied, aller à l’île pigeon, les poissons sont vraiment jolies et vous êtes assurée de voir tortue et requin

Clean and beautiful guesthouse that is owned by a lovely family! The location is close to the beach and perfect to explore the area. Breakfast and all the food cooked by the mom was delicious! I will definitely come back here again next time :))

Wonderful! This little place (3 rooms) is set within 10 minutes of the beautiful beach. Spotlessly clean rooms, super comfortable beds, hot water and fully working air-con. There's a pretty garden area and a little terrace area where you can eat a fabulous homemade breakfast. As with so many places we stayed in what really made our stay memorable was the truly lovely owner. She showed such warm hospitality and genuine kindness that it really was sad when we had to leave.

I loved this hostel for its spotless cleanliness, simple yet cozy atmosphere, and delicious meals. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the overall experience was excellent. I’d definitely come back!

Lovely warm and welcoming family, we stayed for 6 nights in total. Great location near the beach with local cafes close by, the rooms are simple and clean.

The guesthouse is in the perfect spot to walk in five minutes to one of the best beaches: not overrun, beautiful water, nice waves and not too many tourists (or locals). Just perfect for relaxing, swimming and catching some sun or shade. The breakfast is more than enough and very delicious, the woman who runs the guesthouse is very helpful, attentive and lovely. It’s very good value for money and we had one of the best stays in Sri Lanka here! A lovely veranda and garden to hang out after a day at the beach and trinco is not far away (visit the temples, the one in the city is very well worth it). We added one night because we loved the spot so much :)

One of the two (!) beds was pretty hard and lain-through/worn out. The other bed was good enough. We only had medium warm water, but it was hot enough outside to not matter :)

Przestronny pokoj, bardzo miła właścicielka. Na miejscu można wykupić śniadania, najlepsze naleśniki z kokosem jakie jedliśmy w życiu.

The guest house is located in a calm area slightly sideways from the beach. It is extremely clean and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. Mosquito net was sufficient. The hosts are extremely helpful and sincere. We arrived late as we had a small car accident. Late check-in was not a problem and the hosts helped us to arrange a mechanic (even though it was a national holiday). In the morning, I asked for an iron and the host ironed my clothes free of any change, just of genuine kindness. We will not search for other places if we ever come back!

Very little details: there are no night stands and the drainage in the shower gave a bit of a smell. Also, the "double bed" were 2 beds next to each other, not a king size bed.

The host was really friendly and welcoming. :)

There wasnt AC so IT was pretty hot inside.
