Merci à Unee et toute sa famille pour leur gentillesse et leur accueil, nous ne pouvons que vivement recommander cet endroit magique.

Un excellent séjour en compagnie d’Unni et de sa famille, avec des chambres spacieuses et très propres (possibilité d'ajouter la clim en option), une terrasse oú se reposer et un espace de vie très convivial où nous avons pu apprécier l'excellente cuisine de la famille. La balade matinale en pirogue est un incontournable, et nous avons également pu découvrir l'île avec des vélos loués à proximité. Nous recommandons à 100% !

TOUT ! Tout était parfait : l’accueil, le logement, les repas fait par la maman de Unni, le tour de backwaters par Unni , l’endroit paisible , le confort du lit, salle de bain , un vrai paradis sur terre merci à Unni et toute sa magnifique famille 🙏

Munroe Islands permet une pause loin des tumultes de la ville. Rahulram et sa famille sont aux petits soins pour nous : activités, visites, réservations taxi etc . Et on y mange merveilleusement bien. Un coin loin des touristes, à visiter absolument. Merci à Rahulram et sa famille

Unni et sa famille resteront l’une de nos plus belles rencontres lors de notre séjour indien ! Une famille authentique, qui souhaite partager sa culture, faire découvrir Munroe Island et la cuisine keralaise (merci à la maman d’Unni et à sa sœur, de réelles cheffes !). Le lever du soleil en pirogue dans les backwaters est unique : nature et tranquillité sont au rendez vous. Les discussions et la sincérité d’Unni resteront ancrées en nous ! Merci à eux pour ce moment inoubliable ! ❤️

Tout était parfait !

L’accueil a été exceptionnel, et je ne parle pas simplement d’un hôte chaleureux mais d’une personne qui se plie en 4 pour nous faire découvrir un maximum de choses le temps de notre séjour. La cuisine est intégralement faite maison et absolument délicieuse. Notre hôte Unni ne se contente pas de nous servir les plats mais prend le temps de nous expliquer leur composition, leur nom et la manière de les consommer (quels mets mélanger et dans quel ordre notamment). J’ajouterai que les échanges avec Unni ont été géniaux, notre rencontre coup de cœur lors de notre périple de 2 semaines dans le Kerala. Et la cerise sur le gâteau : promenade de plus de 2h à travers les backwaters, sur la pirogue d’Unni, au lever du soleil. Enfin, le logement est très bien entretenu, la propreté irréprochable. J’y retournerais les yeux fermés !

Absolument tout! Aller à l’île Munroe, c’est partir loin du tumulte des grandes villes indiennes. Et honnêtement, cet homestay est un coup de cœur. Unni et sa famille étaient faits pour accueillir des voyageurs, ils sont absolument adorables. Leur homestay est très bien entretenu et les chambres sont très agréables. Et ne parlons pas des talents de cuisinière hors pair de sa maman, nous n’avons pas raté un repas! Le meilleur que nous ayons fait en Inde. En plus, Unni nous a emmenés sur sa barque faire un tour sur les backwaters au lever du soleil, c’est absolument magnifique. Si vous allez sur l’île Munroe, cette adresse est incontournable. NB: sa fille Sanja est tellement mignonne (j’espère ne pas avoir écorché son prénom)

It was a quiet place to stay for a day with friends. The room arrangement was adequate and made it easy to manage our stay comfortably. The host was very supportive.

The location did not meet our expectations, and reaching the property without Google Maps would be quite difficult. The access road to the property is very narrow, making it challenging to drive, especially during the rainy season.

Best homestay I've ever been in! The hosts were warm and welcoming, the room was comfortable and super clean, and the food was amazing. The host family has their own boats if you're interested in an excursion around the nearby Ashtamudi Lake. Great value for money and would definitely recommend!

The location is a bit remote, but this wasn't a concern as we had a car. If you don't have a personal vehicle, you might need to plan food and transportation in advance.

Der Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft war super angenehm. Alle sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen wird selber zubereitet und schmeckt sehr gut! Es hat uns sehr gefallen und falls wir mal wieder eine Unterkunft auf Monroe Island suchen, kommen wir definitiv wieder!

Sooo eine schöne und preiswerte Unterkunft und das Essen war eines der besten in Kerala! Bootstouren (Sunrise, Sunset) wurden ebenfalls über das Guesthouse organisiert und Fahrräder kann man zB über ein anderes Guesthouse ausleihen. Unbedingt zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad bisschen die Gegend erkunden und zB zur Cotton Factory und/oder Spice Factory gehen! Sehr interessant, um das Dorfleben besser kennenzulernen.

Absolut gar nichts!

Munroe island was heaven on Earth! Unni and his family were so welcoming and kind. You could tell the family were happy to share their way of living with us- the food was incredibly tasty (the best we had in Kerala) and the tours in the backwaters were beautiful. If you do visit, please be respectful of the island life and keep it clean, use filtered water etc! It was nice that it was not touristy and the nature was outstanding.

Tout, nous avons passé un excellent séjour qui n'aurait pas pu être mieux. La maison est idéalement située au cœur de la végétation mais non loin de la rivière et de la route principale (avec des magasins/échoppes autour). Les pdj et dîners étaient maisons, préparés par la famille très goutus, divers et généreux! La maison et ses activités sont entièrement tenues par la famille, chaleureuse et très accueillante. Cela est sans compter sur les excursions en barge sur la rivière, auprès des mangroves, à couper le souffle. Un séjour que nous garderons avec nous durant très longtemps, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

We loved our stay with Uni and his family, enjoyed their heartwarming hospitality and the delicious breakfast and dinner. We did a beautiful sunrise tour on the canals with Uni‘s dad, highly recommended. The stay was a wonderful experience.

Die Gastgeberfamilie ist sehr herzlich, offen und hilfsbereit! Das Haus ist sehr schön und gut gepflegt. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das feine Essen und die Bootstour zum Sonnenaufgang.

It is just a fantastic place, where you can take a rest and enjoy doing a little less. There is great food, they make a point of changing it up so you don't eat the same thing twice.

Coconut homestay is a great choice if you are looking to visit Munroe Island. It offers comfortable accommodation, simple home cooked Kerala food which you eat with the family and other guests. Located close to a quiet backwater in peaceful surroundings you experience authentic Indian life. Rahul is delightful and offers sunset and sunrise canoe trips around the nearby waterways. You can also hire bikes to explore the area.

Le fait d’avoir un horaire pour manger avec tout le monde obligatoirement peut être un peu contraignant suivant les personnes qui sont présentes, nous on a eu de la chance les gens présents etaient sympas

Guesthouse a recmmander . Ce n est peut etre pas le grand luxe mais a ce tarif la il n y a rien a dire mais sur que la clim serait un plus ..Acceuil tres chaleueux des hotes qui organisent des sorties en pirogue .Privilegiez celle du matin.

Alles war super, aber vor allem das Essen war das beste was ich in Kerala gegessen habe. Die Bootstouren waren beeindruckend und die Familie sehr herzlich. Ein sehr aussergewöhnlicher Ort in dem sehr viel Liebe steckt.

Par où commencer ! C’est sans aucun doute le meilleur logement dans lequel j’ai séjourné lors de mes deux voyages en Inde. Je suis resté trois nuits et j’aurais aimé rester bien plus longtemps. Uni et sa famille se donnent vraiment à fond pour rendre votre séjour inoubliable. La maman prépare des plats exceptionnels — je recommande sans hésiter la formule repas du midi et du soir ainsi que le petit déjeuner. Quelle cheffe ! Le papa organise des balades en bateau dans les backwaters en soirée, tandis qu’Uni, très sociable et attentive, nous a emmenés découvrir les backwaters au lever du soleil, nous faisant sentir comme à la maison. La chambre à l’étage est merveilleuse : literie très confortable, salle de bain spacieuse avec eau chaude et bon débit. Pas d’anti-moustiques dans la chambre, mais étonnamment, nous n’avons eu aucun insecte malgré les fenêtres ouvertes la nuit. Ils nous ont également aidés à réserver un taxi pour notre départ à un prix très intéressant, ce qui a été super pratique. Je suis reparti à contrecœur, les yeux remplis d’étoiles. Rien qu’en écrivant ces lignes, Coconut Homestay me manque déjà ! J’espère y retourner un jour.

Superbe séjour à Munroe Coconut Homestay! Nous avons tout adoré : l’hébergement paisible, l’excellente cuisine, les activités ( balade à pied et à vélo, balade en pirogue matin et soir, massages et même une sortie nocturne pour boire une coco) et bien évidemment l’excellent accueil d’Unni et toute sa famille! Outstanding in every way. Even better than the reviews. umi and family are lovely, the food is delicious, the boat trips feel exclusive and personal. The best is just sitting on the terrace looking into the trees and feeling the peace.

Everything. The layout of the Homestay is aesthetically pleasing; a rather quirky combination of rooms, a dining area, balconies, and verandahs. My bedroom and bathroom were just the right size, immaculately clean, and had everything I would wish for. I was especially pleased to have a clothes rack, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable, and the bedding impressively clean. The two large windows let in plenty of light, and gave views of luscious greenery. There were net curtains as well as the traditional fabric type. Towels, soap, and toilet paper were provided, as was an extra bucket when I asked for one. Fresh drinking water was available in the dining area. Uni and his family were charming, polite, friendly, and kind. Uni was especially helpful with information, as well as snippets of Indian culture and cuisine. He speaks perfect English, and pays great attention to detail when serving his guests in the dining area. The location is peaceful and private, and the nights reminiscent of my childhood in England, when absolutely nothing disturbed my sleep.

Lovely homestay with super nice staff, run by a lovely family. Uni is so kind and friendly and can’t do enough for you. It’s on a quiet street and the room was really spacious with a nice e bathroom. Great boat trips into the mangroves!

Le petit dejeuner et les repas étaient variés et excellents, les sunrise et sunset en pirogue étaient juste géniaux, des moments paisibles, suspendus, j’ai adoré! Unni et sa famille sont adorables, c’etait genial!

C’est un endroit merveilleux avec des chambres spacieuses, et très propres, des repas exceptionnels préparés par la maman. Ils sont copieux et variés. De l’eau filtrée est mise à disposition. Des sorties pirogues sont organisés au lever et au coucher du soleil avec le fils ou le père. Je ne peux que recommander cet endroit !

Umi and his family. Super welcoming, knowledgeable, adaptable. Beautiful location down a quiet road. We hired bikes and explored for a few days. The morning backwater tour with Umi or his father are a must!

Boating a bit pricey for Kerala standards

-L' accueil extraordinaire par toute une famille généreuse, bienveillante et très souriante -La propreté de la maison et de la chambre -Une grande chambre lumineuse au 1er étage avec une petite terrasse et la vue sur la végétation. -L'excellente cuisine faite par la maman. -L'excursion en bateau sur les canaux, dans la mangrove et sur le lac avec Unni à 5h30 du matin pendant 3h. Tout était parfait, Unni ne ménage pas ses efforts pour vous mettre à l'aise Allez-y les yeux fermés.

Emplacement idéal pour se reposer et profiter de la nature. Un accueil chaleureux et attentionné de la part de l'hôte et de toute sa famille. La cuisine maison est un vrai régal et fait du séjour un moment authentique au sein de ce petit coin de paradis.

Mi è piaciuto tutto. Tutto perfetto. Unni è un ragazzo dolcissimo, educato ed accogliente come pochi. Ci ha dato mille consigli su cosa fare e dove andare, ci ha portato in barca all alba ed è stato meraviglioso. La mamma e la sorella ci hanno preparato colazioni e cene prelibate. Tout était parfait. Unni et toute sa famille sont aux petits soins. Ne ratez pas la balade en barque à l’aube et prenez tous vos repas chez eux, c’est divin et varié tous les jours. Prenez le temps de discuter avec Unni, il parle sans détours des mœurs et coutumes de l’Inde du sud. Les chambres sont spacieuses et le tout est très propres. Ils vous loueront des vélos pour découvrir les alentours et vous diront où aller pour le coucher du soleil😉 Bref 3 jours juste parfait. Merci au passage au blog mifuguemiraison 😘

Everything was perfect! The family was so nice, the food they prepared for us was delicious! (Especially as there are not many vegetarian options around) The beds were really really comfortable, best night sleep in a long time! We were able to go on a sunrise boat tour and hire bikes. The family was so helpful! 100% recommend!

I spent an amazing 3 nights stay in this homestay managed by an really sympathic young man and his lovely family, so kind, helpful and full of good discussions. And so tasty food! Also room really clean and all the comfort needed. And above all, what a experience to discover that incredible island and its inhabitants (people as animals), with the opportunity to see it with an early morning pirogue tour made by the homestay's owner, just superb ! I can just strongly recommend this place to anyone who want to discover Munroe Island, with the condition they respect local communities and that so precious natural environmental Thank you Coconut Family !!

Lovely host that really went out of his way to make me feel welcome and comfortable, including inviting me and the other guests to participate in a large family celebration for his wife’s pregnancy. Congratulations again!! The room was very clean and the food for breakfast was simple but filling. The sunrise boat ride was gorgeous, highlight of my trip.

It’s good value for money, but a couple things I think guests should know - there’s no AC, and there are no mosquito screens on the windows, so at night you have to decide between closed windows and stifling heat, or mosquito bites. I chose the bites.

I have stayed in Coconut homestay with my 2 kids for three nights and have felt very at ease with Unni's family. The room was great, the meals were delightful, I particularly recomman the sunrise boat tour which was magical. We wanted to stay one more night but the homestay was fully booked. Unni contacted his cousin who also has a homestay and arranged everything for us. We particularly loved talking with Unni to get a better knowledge of the Indian culture and way of life. We loved our stay ar Coconut Homestay and really recommand it

Everything was perfect. This homestay is all what a traveler can dream of. The location is wonderful, surrounded by coconut trees and luxurious vegetation. Unni and his family are such great hosts. They make you feel like you were part of their family. The homecoomed keralese food was out of this world ! It was an overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended !

Perfect room, perfect location and perfect food. When you are here you will not miss your home. They literally do everything to make you happy and they never say No for anything. Rahul is such a nice guy took us boating, helped us buy oil and papaddam, sat with us for lunch and breakfasts. This is the best place to stay in munroe island. Each and every family member is so committed and happy to serve you and help you. I miss the little girls who take care of my 8 month old and even played with my 6 year old. Aunty and didi makes such yummy food we fell in love with kerala food.

We really enjoyed our stay here on Munroe Island. Unni and his family were very friendly and the home cooked food was great. We did both the sunset and sunrise boat trips organised by the hosts which we would definitely recommend.

Uni was a most welcoming and helpful host. His mother is a great cook and the fresh and delicate meals she prepared were flavored with love. Best homey food we’ve had in Kerala! Uni’s father took us to a beautiful sunset with his boat, sliding gently through the tropical scenery of Monroe backwater.
