Przepiękny wschód słońca i taras

Zdjęcia pokoju nie odpowiadały rzeczywistości. Trudna komunikacja dotyczącą śniadania. Hotel na uboczu, trzeba się liczyć z trudnością w dotarciu do hotelu. Trzeba było zapłacić za tuktuki x 3, aby chciały tam jechać.

Wir waren zwei Nächte in Ella. Das Guesthouse liegt etwas abseits, aber mit dem TukTuk (10 Minuten) oder zu Fuß (20 Minuten) ist man schnell in der Stadt. Der Ausblick ist grandios, die Anlage sehr gepflegt und lädt mit vielen kleinen Sitzgelegenheiten zum Entspannen ein. Unser Zimmer war groß genug für drei Leute und mit Klimaanlage, Ventilator und sogar einem kleinen Kühlschrank ausgestattet. Das Highlight ist sicher die Badewanne auf der Terrasse… Die Eigentümer kümmern sich um alles und organisieren auch ein TukTuk für Ausflüge in die Umgebung.

En last minute ils m'ont laissé un whatsapp disant qu'ils ne pouvaient plus nous recevoir. Et aucune solution pour nous à 19h... Aucune proposition de nous reloger quelque part. Très déçue donc.

La vista dall'hotel è semplicemente meravigliosa ed è sicuramente il punto forte della struttura, il piccolo terrazzino fronte camera, la terrazza sottostante, l'area adibita ai pasti con vista sualla giungla, sulle rotaie del treno e sulle distese di tè sono sicuramente il motivo per cui andare in questo hotel. Non è facilmente raggiungibile ma offrono gratuitamente il trasporto dalla strada principale fino alla loro struttura. Wifi ben funzionante. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Qualche problema con il lavandino ma sono venuti subito ad aggiustarlo.

Camera per 4 persone piccola, non avevamo lo spazio per aprire le valigie ma dovendo restare una notte solo andava benissimo. Eravamo da soli a cena, cosa successa anche in altre strutture, ma anche lo stesso personale dopo averci servito il pasto è andato via..per cui ad esempio non vi era possibilità di fare qualunque tipo di richiesta.

Leider täuchen die Bilder. Wir hatten das Zimmer mit der Badewanne. Leider ist diese ziemlich klein und steht im öffentlichen Bereich. Dh jeder kann einfach so auf die „eigene“ Terrasse. Auch das Personal hat einen Weg über die Terrasse zu einem hinteren Bereich. Der Zugangsweg ist eine Zumutung. Im Zimmer keine gemütliche Atmosphäre und keine Schränke. Kann es leider nicht empfehlen.

V Rainbow Sky Cottage jsme byli naprosto spokojeni. Ubytování se nachází na krásném místě s úchvatnými výhledy, které byly jedním z největších zážitků našeho pobytu v Elle. Prostředí je klidné a ideální pro odpočinek. Personál byl po celou dobu velmi milý, vstřícný a ochotný. Zvláštní poděkování patří panu majiteli, který nám vždy ochotně pomohl zařídit vše, co jsme potřebovali, a díky jeho přístupu jsme se cítili opravdu vítáni. Pobyt jsme si moc užili a toto ubytování můžeme s čistým svědomím doporučit každému, kdo hledá krásné místo s nádhernými výhledy, příjemnou atmosférou a skvělým přístupem personálu. Pokud se do Elly někdy vrátíme, velmi rádi se ubytujeme znovu.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem kleinen, liebevoll geführten Hotel. Das gesamte Team war unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit, sodass wir uns von Anfang an sehr willkommen gefühlt haben. Unser Zimmer war wunderschön und erst vor Kurzem renoviert. Das absolute Highlight war der fantastische Balkon mit einer Badewanne – perfekt, um sich nach einem Ausflug abzukühlen und dabei die traumhafte Aussicht zu geniessen. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker und wurde mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Danei konnten wir immer die Affen beobachten. Der einzige kleine Nachteil ist, dass das Hotel etwas abgelegen liegt und die Zufahrt nicht ganz einfach ist. Für uns war das aber kein Problem. Der Besitzer hat uns persönlich nach Ella gefahren und auf Wunsch auch wieder abgeholt. Alternativ erreicht man Ella auch problemlos und günstig mit dem Tuk-Tuk. Die Gastgeber gaben uns ausserdem viele hilfreiche Tipps für Ausflüge in der Umgebung, was wir sehr geschätzt haben. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können dieses Hotel von Herzen weiterempfehlen!

Their genuine hospitality made us feel as if we were visiting relatives instead of staying at a hotel. The food was also delicious—fresh, homemade, and prepared with love. Every detail of our stay exceeded our expectations. Die Aussicht war Traumhaft. Die Zimmer und das Badezimmer waren schön und gut Ausgestattet. Die Terrasse beim Zimmer war sehr gross. Das Früstück war sehr lecker. Oberhalb der Schienen, sodass man über diese zu Fuss direkt nach Ella kommt.

Leider war es am Morgen sehr laut, da gleich neben an die Schule ist, welche ab 6.30 Uhr 1h lang sehr laute Musik abspielen lässt. Der Weg zum Hotel ist sehr steil und im dunkeln nur mit Taschenlampe zu erreichen.

Uitgebreid en vers ontbijt met een prachtig uitzicht over de vallei. Ook vanop de hoger gelegen terrassen is het heerlijk relaxen, met of zonder boek.

Schöne Terrassen zum Verweilen (mit Schaukel und Liegenetzen), sehr gute Zimmerausstattung mit Fön und gefülltem Kühlschrank. Toller Blick in die Berge, auch die Züge könnte man sehen. Personal hat sich immer direkt gekümmert, wenn es fehlte oder nicht funktionierte. Und wir wurden immer zur Hauptstraße gebracht und dort abgeholt, weil die Zufahrt sehr steil ist.

De rust in de bergen na een uitstap! Het verblijf ligt wat afgelegen in de bergen, maar dit zorgt voor een fantastisch uitzicht! De eigenaar brengt en haalt je met plezier op aan de hoofdbaan! Uitstekende service, ze doen er alles aan om het je naar jouw zin te maken!

Családi nyaralásunk egyik állomása volt ez a hihetetlenül festői szállás. Háborítatlan környezetben élvezhettük a bőséges reggelit és vacsorát (rugalmasan alkalmazkodtak időben hozzánk), a panorámát, a személyzet kedvességét. Mivel a szállás a fő úttól csak kalandosan megközelíthető, a tuk-tuk transzferről mindig gondoskodtak onnan számunkra. A szállás tiszta, kényelmes, és a csodálatos növény- és állatvilág egy karnyújtásnyira van. 20 perc alatt a közeli vasútvonal mentén be lehet sétálni Ella belvárosába.

The location was right in the mountains, surrounded by great scenic beauty — truly a treat for nature lovers. The place had cozy staff and offered excellent facilities, making the stay comfortable and pleasant.

It is a bit remote, but that adds to its charm, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle.

Wunderschöne Lage beim Sonnenaufgang! Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und schön eingerichtet. Die Badewanne auf dem Balkon ist ein Highlight. Die Anlage ist sehr schön. Kurzer Weg zu den Schienen für einen Spaziergang oder Wanderung. Die Familie ist sehr hilfsbereit und nett!!

Das Essensangebot am Abend ist noch ausbaufähig.

All the hosts were lovely - we so enjoyed walking along the railway to the accommodation. From here we then walked up Ella Rock on way and the other way to 9 arch bridge. If you like birds this is the place for you, I have the Merlin app and it registered over 20 birds, and because you are up in the trees, saw at least half of them. Totally recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rainbow Sky Cottage. The room was beautiful and clean and had the most stunning view, especially exciting when the train passes by. The owners could not be more lovely and accommodating. They will come pick you up from the drop off point as the drive is pretty steep so not easily accessible by car. They shared all the information prior to arrival so it was easy to do. We also used them a couple of times for pick up and drop offs into Ella town. Otherwise you can get to Ella by walking about 15 minutes along the train track which was really fun (we even saw a monkey). It is initially down a steep hill but after that it’s flat. We would highly recommend.

The view was surreal; we were upgraded to a great room, and we were very comfortable. The location is ideal, since it’s not in Ella but within walking distance following the train tracks. Our hosts organized tuk tuks to the city when we needed, and a driver to leave for another city. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with our stay.

The road to the hotel was so bad and unable to reach we had to cancel after the first day because its almost impossible to reach the hotel without fearing for life as its in the top of the mountain with narrow deadly roads.

établissement très agréable perché en pleine nature, à 20 min a pieds de Ella en longeant la voie ferrée (pratique apparemment courante localement). certainement une affaire de famille, nous avons été accueillis par le fils, puis la maman, que des personnes très agréables et à l'écoute de nos besoins. petit déjeuner fait maison très généreux et bon. vue depuis la terrasse de la chambre absolument magnifique

l'accès est un peu scabreux... ne pas s'y engager avec un véhicule sans savoir ou vous vous rendez ! mais l'établissement prévoit tout, nous avions été prévenus en amont et un véhicule est venu nous chercher au début de la portion de route concernée.

We had a 2 bedroom suite which was really nice with an excellent view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked 3 nights and reduced it to 2 and they were ok with that.

Breakfast and dinner not good. The location is remote so no other choice for food. We had a driver who had to wait for us on the main road. The hotel provides a tuktuk to take you the steep 600 metres to the main road. If I returned to Ella I would choose somewhere more accessible especially to have other food options

The view. That is the only positive point we saw. We had the family room. Not sure if the other rooms are better... The guy that showed us the room and pick up the luggage was very friendly. The rest of the staff was a bit strange. Breakfast is ok.

We stayed in Family Room, it was a big disappointment. Bathroom needs some repairments, so the water does not flood the bathroom. The price is too high for the real quality. Only the view is good. Some staff is strange. We receive the information that is possible to have dinner at location, since the way out is difficult. We get the menu per Whatsapp and confirm that we want to have dinner. Then we cannot find the place there to eat. We ask a lady (afterwards we understood is part of the owners!!), where we can eat, and she does not speak good english and tell us there is restaurant there, only outside. Fortunately we had a late lunch, so we just went early to bed without dinner. Afterwards (during breakfast) we understood that she is the one that cooks for the guests! So very confusing information. The worst stay in our holidays. I'm sure there are other places in Ella that have also a great view but are better! I would never return to this place.

Udsigten var helt fantastisk, alt andet var så helt utroligt dårligt.

Vi blev kontaktet af personalet efter den første nat, de ville spørge os om vi ville flytte til et andet værelse. Vi sagde pænt nej tak, vi nød udsigten på terrassen udenfor vores værelse. Personalet blev ved med at spørge os, selvom vi gentagende gange sagde, at det ønskede vi ikke. De stoppede ikke, og de bad os om at flytte til et andet hotel, selvom vi havde booket 4 nætter der. Det var virkelig en ubehagelig oplevelse.

La vue est super belle surtout au lever du soleil, nous etions dans la chambre 201 et c'est clairement la meilleure, avoir une baignoire avec cette vue c'etait genial. Je dirais même que c'était notre meilleur logement au Sri Lanka. Le petit dejeuner etait excellent, le personnel adorable! L'accès à Ella city en suivant les rails pendant 20min a pied est un gros plus, on faisait ce trajet tout les jours, c'etait super pratique, on y a croisé des petits oiseaux et singes le long des rails. Pour avoir ensuite fait un autre logement à Ella (Ella Camelot), je trouve le rapport qualité-prix largement meilleur au Rainbow Sky Cottage, je vous le recommande les yeux fermés!! Dommage qu'on ait pas pu prolonger notre sejour au Rainbow Sky Cottage!

Quand il pleut l'eau de la baignoire ne chauffe pas. Le wifi n'a quasi jamais marché et l'électricité sautait quand il pleuvait mais bon c'est la montagne donc faut s'y attendre et c'est rien de grave. Le gerant de l'hotel prenait du temps à repondre mais bon nous y etions pendant le nouvel an Tamoul donc il devait être assez occupé ! On ne lui en veut pas.

Die Anlage ist sehr schön und liebevoll mit vielen Blumen gestaltet. Positiv hervorzuheben sind die sauberen und bequemen Betten. Das Essen ist ebenfalls lecker. Die Familie die es betreubt ist sehr freundlich und bemüht. Es gibt kostenlos Shampoo und Duschgel.

Insgesamt war das Zimmer in Ordnung, allerdings stimmt für mich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht ganz. Die Zimmer sind leider etwas veraltet. Teilweise fallen die Schlösser fast aus den Türen und auch Regale lösen sich bereits von den Wänden. Zudem sind die Türen zu den Zimmern sehr niedrig, sodass man sich regelmäßig den Kopf stößt. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück hingegen ist leider nicht zu empfehlen, da er eher wie heißes Wasser schmeckt. Es gab auch kein kostenloses Wasser im Zimmer wie bei vielen anderen Unterkünfte. Außerdem ist es sehr beschwerlich von der Hauptstraße zu der Unterkunft zu gelangen. Zu Fuß über Sie Bahngleise sind es ca. 20 Min. Bis nach Ella. Das Licht im Zimmer ist sehr grell.

Das Zimmer, der Ausblick, der Service. Die Lage ist zwar etwas außerhalb und der Weg dorthin ziemlich steil, aber wenn ma ein guter Scooter Fahrer ist, ist es kein Problem. Dafür ist es schön ruhig mit gutem Ausblick.

Hotel úžasný, krásny personál milí a usmiaty. Nádherné výhľady z terás izieb. Strava bola úžasná. Malí obchod s maskami a suvenírmi . Rodinný hotel plný úžasných farieb kvetov a zvukov. Izby čisté a dostatočne veľké.

Mali sme izbu vedľa kuchyne s terasou , kde sedeli ľudia do noci a keďže neboli okná tak bolo všetko počuť a tak sa horšie zaspávalo. Svetlo na terase bolo celú noc rozsvietené a svietilo do izby. Trošku nekomfortné ale nebolo to niečo hrozné.

Etwas abseits, es wird aber ein Abholservice ab der Hauptstraße angeboten. Unterkunft war super, man konnte den Sonnenaufgang sehen. Unten an den Schienen ist das Restaurant „Mamas“ zu empfehlen - sehr gute & frische Küche!

die Lage, ein Gefühl von mitten im Jungle. direkt an den Bahngleisen und zum spazieren gehen zum Ella Rock und Ella City nicht weit. die Besitzer waren sehr zuvorkommend und richtig lieb und hilfsbereit. konnten auch unsere Wäsche waschen. der Sohn der Besitzerin hat uns dann auch bis zur nächsten Unterkunft nach Yala gefahren. kommen gerne wieder

+ Die Unterkunft bietet einen fantastischen Ausblick. Man befindet sich gefühlt mitten im Dschungel aber ist dennoch relativ Zentral. + Den Ella Rock kann man direkt ab der Unterkunft erklimmen- die Bahngleise führen direkt unterhalb der Unterkunft durch (ohne Lärm-Emission) + Das Personal war ausgesprochen hilfsbereit und freundlich. Immer wenn wir etwas brauchten, hat man uns sofort geholfen. Wir haben es sehr geschätzt. + Das Frühstück war ebenfalls super lecker😃

- Die Lage der Unterkunft ist wie beschrieben überhaupt nicht schlecht, die Strasse bis zur Unterkunft führt jedoch über einen Steilen hang und ist sehr schwer zu befahren. Wenn man den Tuktuk Fahrer aber über die Unterkunft bucht, gehts gut. - Das Badezimmer hatte leider einen etwas maroden Geruch, da nur ein sehr kleines Fenster zur Belüftung vorhanden ist. Die Dusche hat ausserdem sehr wenig Speühkraft und befindet sich eben zur Toilette. Wenn man Duscht, ist somit der Boden im gesamten Bad nass.

The location was lovely - surrounded by nature , able to see the train and fabulous views. The staff were so helpful arranging tuk tuks and lifts with luggage to train station. The walk into Ella was a beautiful 20minute walk along the train line.

The woman who runs this place was very kind and caring and made amazing food. Our room was fantastic with views over the mountains and a bath outside on the balcony. It was an amazing experience.

Duże pokoje z wyjściem na taras z pięknym widokiem. Cisza spokój. Czasem przejeżdża pociąg co jest dodatkową atrakcją. Dojazd krętą droga z przepaściami:) hotel wysyła informacje i oferuje auto z kierowcą, dzięki czemu można dojazd nie jest problemem. W hotelu można zamówić bardzo dobrą kolację

The spectacular view, the comfortable massive beds, the people and especially the location. We were surrounded by monkeys ! They made us feel very welcome and we had an amazing dinner there too. The location is right next door to Bees Honey restaurant which is a massive bonus as they do amazing food and drinks there too. The famous Ella train track is just below the property and you can walk the track to Ella. Takes about 20 minutes and you see monkeys and little cafes along the track. Perfect location.

The access to the property is restricted due to the road being so steep and a bit narrow but the owner is more than happy to collect you in his vehicle from the main road area. We had our own vehicle and decided to brave it !

We had an excellent stay at Rainbow Sky cottage, for 3 nights, the room was large with a lovely bath on the balcony which we enjoyed after our long days hiking. Excellent location a lovely walk to Ella along the railway and ideal location for Ella’s rock and the Pekoe trail. Lovely little restaurants close by which we went to. Stunning views I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you

- We loved the views and the enormous balcony, that was breathtaking. - The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. - The owner’s mother and son were so kind to us and happy to help with anything. - There was a great place nearby called Freedom Cafe where we went for meals. Would recommend. - The laundry came back clean and nicely folded. - The property is not too far from town - about 20 minute walk following the train line. I would not do it at night though - you can get a Tuktuk.

Overall we would recommend the place due to the views, but to make the score to a 10, we’d recommend a few improvements: - We would recommend the owner to be more responsive and helpful over WhatsApp. When he did reply, it was very brief and unhelpful, like he did not really want to be asked. The property is far from town, on an extremely steep hill, so it’s not easy to find your way around without some advice. Perhaps he could write a page of FAQs if he is too busy to respond properly. - The property is close to Ella Rock, but when we asked how to get there he just replied “maps.me”. We followed the route on maps.me and it was deserted, and we ended up going through dense bushes where there could have been snakes. If we had gone for sunrise in the dark, it would have been dangerous. We’d actually recommend following All Trails instead! we did that trail on the way back and it was lovely :) (remember to take cash as you have to pay some rupees at the top to see the view, but it’s not much). - We asked for some advice organising tours. He ignored the message sometimes, and other times he gave out our mobile number to tour companies without our consent. Again - it felt like he was too busy to help us or tell us more about the local area. - The room is in need of some real maintenance. The lights were not working properly and we had to ask for them to be fixed. The hair dryer was faulty. The shelves were coming down, and the plants in the room were dying. The water pressure in the shower was inconsistent. It’s a great place but needs some TLC to be worth the price. I think it can be fixed easily within a day to make it feel more loved!!

It is difficult to get to, with a steep single track road. Hotel will provide a tuk tuk ride to the main road. It is still a fair distance from the centre of town.

L'emplacement est magique car en pleine nature avec les singes, peacocks et autres oiseaux pour compagnie lors du petit déjeuner sur la terrasse. Une terrasse pour nos chambres très agréable et bien équipée. Des chambres spacieuses et confortables.

Le wifi ne fonctionne pas très bien. L'hôtel n'est pas accessible pour les véhicules mais celui-ci propose des navettes gratuites.

Hotel is very responsive on whatsapp and they arranged all tuk tuks for us for the days we were in Ella for very good price. It was nice we couldnpay directly to hotel for the rides. The location is really nice, while scary to reach the first time by hotel drivers, it's really beautiful. 2 min walk down the hill you can reach the railway for a nice hike ok the rails towards waterfall or other peaks, or towards ella.

Very good service. The hotel was difficult to reach by tuk tuk but it was worth the ride. Easy 25min walk to to town along the train tracks. During dark hours our owner arranged always a tukttuk from the city. Amazing view from the balcony. Very nice and clean room with good shower.

Loved our stay here, the place really surprised us with it's comfort and charm. We loved the balcony and multiple terraces, nestled amongst lovely gardens. The staff were lovely especially the cook who prepared a lovely breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed. They were able to sort out a taxi to the coast for us on short notice as well. All very clean, spacious and comfortable. The walk into Ella and back is easiest done along the railway and didn't take too long, worth having a light of some sort at night. Highly recommend a stay here.

Die Aussicht ist wirklich ein absoluter Traum. Entlang der Gleise, die direkt unterhalb des Hotels verlaufen, ist man innerhalb von 20 Minuten in Ella. Das Team ist super herzlich, zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir wurden vom Bahnhof in Ella abgeholt und auch wieder dorthin gebracht.

Die Ausstattung unseres Zimmers war etwas veraltet und könnte für den Preis überholt werden. Aber wir würden wiederkommen! :)
