Schöne Aussicht auf Ella Rock, nettes Personal und tolles Frühstück!

Um das Hotel zu erreichen muss man einen kleinen Pfad laufen (200m), welcher nachts etwas unheimlich ist, hier könnte mehr Licht angebracht werden zumal es sehr steil ist.

Las vistas son increíbles y la ubicación inmejorable. En 3 minutos estás en la calle principal pero lo suficientemente alejado para no escuchar el tráfico o música. La habitación es mejor que en las fotos. El desayuno buenísimo. La familia que lo regenta son super amables. Nosotros extendimos una tercera noche porque nos encantó Ella y el hotel era fantástico. El mejor hotel que hemos estado por este precio. Sin duda volveríamos a alojarnos en este hotel.

No proporcionan champú ni gel (tampoco lo pedimos, teníamos el nuestro propio). Las paredes son bastante finas y si hay gente hablando en el hotel de al lado se escucha, el hotel era muy tranquilo igualmente.

Las vistas. La terraza es espectacular con las vistas. El desayuno buenísimo y abundante y la atención del personal encantadora.Nos lavaron la ropa por menos precio que en el centro. La cama y almohadas muy cómoda.

El mobiliario era bastante antiguo y reforzar un poco más la limpieza. En general estaba limpio, pero detalles como la basura del baño era bastante vieja y sucia y el vasito de los cepillos de dientes…

Todo estuvo genial. Muy limpio. Las vistas preciosas desde la gran terraza, las camas grandes y cómodas, el baño muy amplio. El personal muy atento y el desayuno estuvo muy bien y abundante. Excelente calidad precio. Se encuentra a 5 min a pie del centro.

Para llegar hay una cuesta arriba dificil de llegar en coche, pero se puede llegar abajo, a pie en 5 min. O coger un tuk tuk.

Rooms were huge, clean, and comfortable and I love just watching the view from my window. Had a quiet view in front of Ella too. It included a really good and filling breakfast too. Good value for money over all and the staff were great.

While location is at the center, it takes like a 5 minute steep walk to reach the place, at night the walk towards the place isn’t lighted properly too. Not a problem if you have a tuktuk or if you’re travelling with a friend or a group.

Habitaciones muy muy sencillas y antiguas, aunque no tienen aire, al menos la nuestra, nos fue suficiente con el ventilador.

Un soggiorno davvero piacevole, reso ancora più speciale dalla gentilezza e dall’ospitalità dei proprietari, sempre gentilissimi e disponibili. La camera è immersa nella natura e la mattina ci si sveglia con il bellissimo canto degli uccellini. La colazione era buona e curata. Un posto tranquillo e accogliente, che consigliamo!

Proprio a dover trovare una pecca, la struttura è vicinissima al centro ma l’ultimo pezzo di strada è buia e con una salita dalla pendenza non indifferente

Een heerlijk verblijf met een prachtig uitzicht op de Ella gap en de bergen. Eigenaresse is super aardig en heel behulpzaam. Je kunt ook je kleding laten wassen in dit hotel. Locatie is heel rustig en je loopt binnen 5 minuten naar het centrum. Aanrader!

Prachtige grote familiekamer met uitzicht op Ella val, met heerlijke douche, zithoek, tv en zelfs Netflix. Vijf minuten lopen van het centrum, wel een korte steile helling op of af maar dat was voor ons geen probleem.

We stayed at Green Village Ella on the night of 28 July, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our stay in Sri Lanka. The experience was absolutely amazing and felt more like a five-star stay. The view from our room was simply breathtaking. The accommodation was extremely clean, beautifully maintained and had a very high-quality, almost luxurious feel. We were warmly welcomed by the family who runs the place, and they had drinks prepared for us when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also had access to their kitchen, which was very practical for us as we like to prepare and cut our own fruit. The breakfast was absolutely exceptional. It was generous, beautifully prepared and gave us the opportunity to taste a variety of delicious Sri Lankan foods. We particularly loved the traditional pancakes filled with coconut and honey. There was so much food that we stayed full for hours afterwards! The location is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery. There is a shop about a 15-minute walk away, although the walk involves some uphill and downhill sections, so it is not necessarily the easiest access. However, the beautiful surroundings more than make up for this. Overall, Green Village Ella was an exceptional place to stay. The stunning views, wonderful hosts, beautiful accommodation, delicious breakfast and high-quality amenities made this feel like a truly special experience. We would absolutely recommend it.

The only downside for us was that they did not accept card payments, so we had to pay in cash. Apart from that, everything was fantastic.

Vistas impresionantes desde la terraza. El personal es muy servicial y amable. Mi marido es celíaco y para desayunar le hicieron unos pancakes de arroz y estaban riquísimos. Se puede ir andando al centro, hay una cuesta un poco empinada pero se puede hacer bien.

Wir hatten ein großes Familienzimmer mit tollem Ausblick. Die Lage war ruhig und dennoch waren unsere Ausflugsziele fussläufig erreichbar. Die Familie war sehr nett und hat sogar jemanden organisiert, der unseren Bus wieder auf die Straße gebracht hat.

Fehlende Sitzmöglichkeit vor dem Zimmer. Sehr schmaler Balkon.

Douche was niet schoon. Badmatje was al nat en vies. Ontbijt is zeer matig. Heel karig: maar 1 flesje water met zijn 2-en /3-en

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad! Het ontbijt was geweldig en maakte ons verblijf helemaal compleet. Gelukkig konden we nog een extra nacht bijboeken, waardoor we nog langer van deze fijne plek konden genieten. De gastvrije mensen zorgden ervoor dat we ons meteen welkom en helemaal op ons gemak voelden. Zeker een aanrader!

Excellent view and walkable distance to the restaurants. It was very nice that it was quiet and away from the main street noise.

Lovely family run guesthouse. The guesthouse is walkable from the Ella town but is really calm and quiet. It has a great view of Ella rock. We had a family room which was spacious and clean. We hired a tuk tuk for the day and visited a local waterfall as well as the tea plantation. The owners were very kind and helped us with our bags to get up to the station.

Nice hotel with a beautiful view, clean rooms, great breakfast and a super nice host family. We would book again.

We had an unforgettable stay at Green Village! The hosts are simply wonderful, so kind, and genuinely caring. We had an super early start at 5:00 AM, and they went above and beyond by preparing a delicious, authentic Sri Lankan takeaway breakfast for us that morning. But it didn't stop there—they even helped us carry our heavy suitcases all the way to the main road. The lovely lady of the house literally flagged down the bus to Kumbalwela for us, asked the driver to wait, and helped us load our bags onto the bus! Her son was also incredibly friendly, sweet, and helpful throughout our stay. You can really feel how much heart this family puts into looking after their guests. If you are looking for a place with amazing hospitality and beautiful souls, book this place without hesitation. Highly, highly recommend! 🌿❤️

This place exceeded my expectations. The owners are some of the kindest people I've ever met. The room was very spacious, and the view was top notch. I didn't realize when I booked that the room didn't have air conditioning, but trust me, it isn't necessary. Breakfast was great, and the lady always asked if we wanted more food — it felt like my mom was taking care of me. Thank you so much!

Everything was perfect — even the walk at night, one block to the main road. We saw monkeys and a porcupine along the way.

The location close to town but set back a little is perfect with wonderful views over Ella’s rock. The rooms we stayed in had large terraces overlooking the valley. It’s dark at night so you can see the stars . It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was nice and when we didn’t eat everything (because there was so much) we kept being offered other options. We used a Rik Rik to move our bags between the top of the hill and the lodge. Sunrise was spectacular over the rock.

Couldn’t get one of the fans working but we didn’t raise that with the hosts as we were only staying for one night and it was cool outside anyway.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Green Village. Nous y sommes restés 3 nuits mais nous aurions adoré rester plus longtemps. La vue est à couper de souffle et les hôtes étaient très attentionnés. Nous avions une chambre pour 4, les lits étaient très confortables, la chambre était spacieuse, lumineuse et propre. La salle de bain restait basique mais ça nous convenait. Le petit déjeuner était très bon et copieux et ils n'hésitaient pas à nous demander pour nous resservir si on avait encore faim. Nous avons également adoré l'emplacement et c'est une des raisons pour laquelle nous avions choisi cet établissement. C'est à 5 min à pied seulement de la route principale avec bars et restaurants et pourtant nous nous sentions en pleine nature au milieu des singes, oiseaux et écureuils.

Çalışan bayan o kadar nazik birisi ki anlatamam. Otel biraz dik bir yokuşta ama tuktuk ile gelip valizlerimizi aldılar ve odamıza götürdüler. Kahvaltıları gayet güzeldi. Balkon manzaraları bir harikaydı. Hiç bu kadar kibar ve nazik çalışanları görmemiştim. Konumu da yokuştan sonra her yere yürüme mesafesinde.

The triple room we had on the top floor was lovely with the amazing view over the beautiful countryside. A very peaceful location only a short walk to the main streets for restaurants. Our breakfasts were delicious with large portions. Our hosts were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

A steep hill to the guesthouse but the family took our luggage each way in a tuk tuk which was very good.

Very friendly staff. They help you with the luggage as there is quite a steep hill. Breakfast fresh fruits and pancakes, it is very good! Fridge in the rooms and nice view. It is located 5-10 min walk from the main road. The small street is really dark, but felt safe.

the view is absolutely breathtaking, you can watch the whole view of Yala Rock, there are many birds and animal around the balcony, the night sky is full or stars and firefly.

I wish there are insects screen attach to the windows. that way it could be better. There are no Air con but the weather is completely fine with just fan.

The view from the property was beautiful, and the location is very convenient as it is close to Ella town. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and they served breakfast at the time we requested for an additional charge. The room was spacious and having a fridge inside was a nice convenience. Breakfast was ok.

The bathroom needs significant maintenance, and the hot water pressure was low. No complimentary drinking water bottles were provided, which is something we usually expect when staying at accommodations. Not sure they forgot or not providing. The road leading to the property is very steep and completely dark at night as there are no lights. Overall, while the location and views are the main highlights, we felt that the experience did not fully justify the price paid. If being close to town is your priority, it may still be a suitable option.

We received a warm welcome at Green Village. Room was very large, comfortable & well equipped & furnished. Property is in a stunning location, quiet with amazing views but only a couple of minutes walk into the centre of Ella. Breakfast was very tasty with generous portions. There is a steep climb down to the property via a path but the owners met us at the top & took our luggage in a tuk tuk for us. When we left they transported our luggage to the train station about 500m away which we were very grateful for. Communication with the owners prior to our stay was good.

Our balcony was very narrow although it is in the process of being extended. As the property is set on a hillside there is a steep climb to it & lots of steps to get to our room. Not a problem for us but not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Green Village was one of the best places we stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm smiles and incredible hospitality. They were always happy to help and went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable and memorable stay. The highlight of this homestay is undoubtedly the view. Waking up to the panoramic view of Ella Rock and the surrounding lush green hills was simply magical. We spent hours relaxing on the balcony, enjoying the cool mountain breeze and the peaceful surroundings. It's the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Ella. We saw lots of fireflies; maybe it's been 30 years since my childhood when I last saw them. My kids enjoyed the night sky, watching the stars and constellations, which are impossible to see from a city sky. We really enjoyed the night breeze. Although it's only a short walk from the town, the property feels wonderfully quiet and secluded, offering the best of both worlds—easy access to restaurants and attractions while still enjoying complete tranquility. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well maintained, and breakfast was fresh, delicious, and served with an unforgettable view. Every detail reflected the care and kindness of the host family. If you're looking for a homestay with spectacular scenery, genuine Sri Lankan hospitality, and a peaceful atmosphere, Green Village is an easy 5-star choice. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ella!

Although the main street is a few minutes' walk, most of it is uphill. The owner has a tuk-tuk, which could be helpful. If you have a vehicle with you, then the path is not a problem.

La llegada es una cuesta monumental y oscura imposible si vienes con niños pequeños. Los propietarios son cero flexibles, nos equivocamos con la reserva y no nos dejaron cambiarla, además lo peor de todo ruidos descomunales desde temprano por la mañana

I booked it for the views and so was surprised when we walked into the room and it was enormous and very beautiful! Everything about this stay was amazing. The staff are so helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was excellent.

Overall we had a really good experience in Green village. The location is super convenient and the view of Ella rock is incredible! The hosts were really friendly and helpful and there were lots of small acts of hospitality - eg lending us an umbrella when it was raining, bringing us tea after we'd checked out and we were waiting for our taxi to arrive. They also offered a laundry service for an extra charge which was handy. The room was fine for our needs and had a little fridge in it, which was handy. Breakfast was great! Really generous amount of food and all delicious.

There's a steep slope down to the property which you have to walk up each time you leave Some of the facilities are a bit basic, though functional. Our room had no AC, just a fan. We thought this would be more of an issue than it turned out to be - because it's cooler in Ella, we got away with it. We were unfortunate to have some very rowdy neighbours on one of our nights, which is obviously not the hosts' fault, however, the walls were very thin and we could hear everything and because it's a guesthouse rather than a hotel, there was no one to call for help to manage the issue. There were power outages on the property pretty regularly, some of which seemed to affect the whole town so may not necessarily be 100% an issue with the property.

An absolutely amazing stay - the hospitality we experienced here was above and beyond anything else we have had. The view from the balcony makes you not want to leave, a great location as well with only a short walk into Ella!

Green village is just perfect to connect with the mountains , and have the most delicious breakfast with the best view you can imagine. Hosts are super kind and make you feel.good welcome.

Amazing view, spacious nice rooms and the owners are legends!

The view was incredible, each floor had a balcony overlooking Ella rock and there were monkeys always walking around just below. The owners were so friendly and always checked on us. They also even dropped us at the station with our bags in their tuk tuk. We really enjoyed our stay!

There were quite a few power cuts each night, and the fan couldn’t be moved as it kept falling all the way to the side, so the room got quite warm. When the power cuts happened the fan also didn’t turn back on when power resumed. This isn’t the owners fault, but next door had a big group of men staying who were obnoxiously loud after midnight - another guest asked them to be quiet and they began being quite aggressive. They came back out after 2am and the same happened. I think our owners could have asked theirs to intervene, as it isn’t down to guests to put themselves in harm’s way. Having said that, we had a young group staying at our place and the neighbour also had to go and ask them to quieten down in the early hours, so this is something the owners should’ve dealt with. The pane above the door is just a piece of mesh, so outside noise can be heard really loudly in rooms

The view is amazing. Bed is comfortable. Staff are very nice and friendly. The breakfast included is pretty good too. The staff can help you carry your bags up the massive hill on their tuktuk when you are leaving

No AC in the room. Bathroom is very basic too, the floor gets flooded when you shower and takes a long time to clear. The property is down an extremely steep hill so you have a hike to get out each time
