The host was very helpful and was always available at the front desk. The view from the living area was beautiful. There were kitchen facilities where I could make my own coffee, and the bed was comfortable.

there was only one washroom for six bedrooms, and water was leaking from the tap the entire time. They also need to improve the cleanliness of the beds.

The location was good and the view from the hostel was nice. However, the beds were not very comfortable, and there were quite a few ants in the toilet. It would also be better if they provided toilet slippers. it was just okay for one night stay in this price.

Didn’t feel safe here. There was an insistent of a man outside our room at 1am screaming for an hour. He sound like he was having a mental breakdown. Screaming stuff like “die” and “I’m going to kill you” right outside our private room. We tried to contact the hostel and got no response, this was going on for a long time and no one was around for security , even had to try call tourist police as we were getting picked up for a safari at 3am. We didn’t feel safe to leave our room as two girls on our own so had to ask the driver to come collect us from our room in the end.

The properties clean bed is comfortable, very nice stuff. Awesome location and the staff is really helpful. Special thanks to Sadaru for guiding all the itinerary.

Filter water is not available, so you have to pay for the water

Es war einfach hier Leute kennenzulernen und wir haben es auch genossen einfach viel Zeit in den common areas zu verbringen. Unser Dorm hatte sogar eine eigene Terasse.

Es gibt keinen Sichtschutz für die Betten und generell kann es sehr unruhig werden Nachts. Auch draußen ist es extrem laut. Ohrstöpsel und Augenmaske sollte man schon mitbringen.

Great location, and a super comfortable bed. The laundry service was great and good value. The view is lovely and space to park rented bikes etc.

The padlock for the door was a bit strange, and the bathroom has a bit of a musky smell.

Not set up well to be a social hostel. Found it hard to mingle with people due to lack of common space. The shower was also luke warm at best :(

The staff were barely around. Water pressure was at times non existent. This hostel has great potential but sadly looks like it is being allowed to deteriorate. Great location. Quite a lot of steps so not suitable for some.

This place is genuinely only a 7 minute walk from the train station and it's all downhill until you reach the place, there are about 25 steps upto the property. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and knew all the answers to our questions and sorted scotters and on ward travel for us. Cheap beer and cheap food. The hoppers we had were delicious. We had a private room with bathroom and balcony. The mattress I think is brand new and the best do far, and even better 300 TC pure cotton sheets. Loved this place

Thank you to the host and friendly staff for your wonderful help in arranging activities and tuktuk so quickly! Location is super central and close to two great restauranrs, and nice view of the rock.

While I appreciate the friendly people working here, unfortunately I didnt like the private room because of a combination of the following: the balcony is not private despite pictures may suggest, the room is outdated, no hot water, the room lock is only a little padlock, just one big light, no little bedside lamp or powersocket next to bed. For the same price I would have chosen a better quality stay just outside the city centre

Creo q no vivi nada malo en mi corta estancia, asi que todo ok.

Jeg kunne ikke komme ind på mit værelse da der var 3 hunde som gøede, ville ikke lade mig komme forbi og var agressive. Klokken var 12 om natten og jeg ringede til hostel nummeret og skrev til dem både på booking og whatsapp, ingen svarede. Heldigvis kendte jeg nogle som sov på et hostel ikke langt væk og der var en ekstra seng. Ellers ved jeg ikke hvor jeg skulle sove. Næste morgen fortalte jeg det til personalet, de sagde bare Sorry. Jeg havde allerede betalt for værelset ved tjek ind, og de ville have jeg skulle betale for vasketøj. Jeg spurgte om det ikke var fair at det blev på huset, da jeg rent faktisk ikke engang har siddet på min seng og slet ikke kunne komme ind på værelset eller få noget hjælp. De gik med til at de betalte for vasketøj... Ellers meget sødt personale ved tjek ind og hyggeligt hostel.

This was my first time traveling solo to ella , And i was supposed to stay for a night and i did extend it to 2 days ,when u talk about the atmosphere its like supernatural and i was in love with the view ,honestly the staffs over-there -sandaru was a special one he helped me out always like for everything i was asking for he said yes always, customer service was 10-10 ,im gonna visit the place again when im back in ella , As a solo traveler i loved it soo well. And a special thanks for binura for telling me about the places to visit.thanks sanjeewan too .i really enjoyed my vacation in ella.

Love this place!! A great location in the centre with the most beautiful views. Everyone here is friendly and chill and I felt so comfortable here. AC in the room is much appreciated. Also got to check out at 12pm. Would 100% recommend!

This place exceeded expectations with considerate warm service, clean room and a prime location near key attractions. The staff made my stay memorable. They arranged a scooter to roam around and give me tips to discover places where not many tourists adventure themselves. Great value to sleep in a quiet environment. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.

Hostel has big sleeping dorms and is in a pretty good location to spend time in Ella.

It was not the cleanest Hostel and we didnt had mosquito nets.

En el dormitorio para 10 perosnas hay 3 baños pero solo dos funcionan y la ducha hay solo 1. Hay solo un lavabo. Las camas son muy cerca una de la otra

I loved the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the super friendly staff Sanderu who always made me feel at home. The location is great, close to hikes and local attractions, and meeting other travelers here made my stay even more special

I didn’t really enjoy my stay. The people working there barely spoke to me, they were not helpful nor friendly. The rooms and bathroom were a bit dirty, and the place felt quite empty, almost abandoned, I didn’t feel very secure. The bed had a broken wooden base, and the shower had almost no water pressure. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but no one ever asked if I wanted it, so I didn’t have it during my whole stay. Overall, it’s a very basic place, and for the same price you can easily find nicer homestays with a private room and bathroom.

Stay was okay at Ella Rock View Hostel – not great, not terrible. Decent for a night or two if you just need a basic place close to Ella Rock.

The staff is very kind and helpful. The reception area in particular is very nice. The location is perfect, just on the main street. And the views are absolutely stunning. I highly recommend it.

The location of the hostel is perfect with everything in walkable distance. The host Sandaru is amazing and very eager to help.

The bathroom for the 10 bed dorm isnt great.

Great location and an amazing view. Beds are comfy, showers are hot and the laundry service is quick.

The bathrooms aren’t very clean and it looks more like a temporary bathroom but it does the job. The staff don’t speak a lot of English so it can be hard to ask for advice/recommendations. There’s no A/C so it can get hot in the bedrooms but there are fans available.

Die Sanitäranlagen sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen, Wasser aus der Leitung ist gelb-braun, der Abfluss des Waschbeckens ist kaputt, Wasser rinnt direkt unten Kasten raus. Gruppenräume könnten besser gereinigt werden (Spinnweben im Badezimmer)

Het hostel ligt centraal in Ella. Super fijn, zo kan je gemakkelijk naar alles toe. Het hostel ziet er netjes uit, aardig personeel en een fijne centrale ruimte

Well located close to the restaurants and shops. It has private parking, which was ideal for our rental tuktuk. We met some fantastic people at this hostel. Good view of Ella rock and sociable outside seating with tables and beanbags. Generally clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Hostel is able to provide cold water and beer for a fee.

It's a double room in a hostel - bring a padlock to lock the door. Power outage during the majority of our stay in Ella. We decided to was our laundry elsewhere as we couldn't find any staff.

L’unico bagno del dormitorio femminile era sporco (x 8 persone), lo staff non era molto presente e non comprendono l’inglese. La colazione era così in ritardo che siamo dovute andar via prima di farla per evitare di perdere il treno

De locatie, het uitzicht en het ontbijt is top! De bedden slapen heerlijk.

De 3 persoons prive kamer is niet zoals op de foto. Daar zijn alle muren en plafond wit. In werkelijkheid hadden wij een kamer met bruine schrootjes tegen muren en plafond, niet zo fris. Voor we bij onze kamer waren moesten we door een soort bouwval, beton, stof, over allerlei trappen naar 2e verdieping.

The place is a bit run down

La vue sur le rocher est bien présente mais le reste laisse à désirer. Le petit déjeuner est très bon si vous payer un supplément.

Les dortoirs ne sont pas très pratique et propre et c'est encore pire pour les douches... C'est un des logements les moins cher dans le centre donc ça se comprends mais il faut mieux être préparé à dormir et se doucher dans des endroits rustiques.

Es un horror está muy sucio. Y aunque tiene un buen desayuno son tan lentos que el segundo día decidimos desayunar en otro sitio. Es una pena pq tiene mucho potencial pero está muy mal gestionado.
