Esther's Homestay - Big Room 26m2 chez l'habitant

The owner, Esther, is very kind and welcoming, we felt very much at home. She did her utmost to help us with our bicycles and other questions, and we enjoyed the little chats. The room is quite large and convenient, it had everything we needed. The private bathroom was very good and clean. The location is great: quiet, safe, and within walking distance of the train station and supermarkets.

The room got a little warm during the day, but that is not so strange since the outside temperature was exceptional.

Le confort d’une chambre spacieuse, la propreté immaculée, bouilloire, tisanes et café à disposition. L’accueil bienveillant d’Esther vraiment charmante.

Tard dans la soirée et la nuit l’impression de sentir une odeur de cigarette, odeur qui s’infiltrait dans la chambre. Désagréable…

Appartamento molto elegante, con una vista incantevole dalla ampia stanza ma soprattutto dal balcone comune, dove è possibile sedere per bere e sgranocchiare qualcosa in compagnia della proprietaria, persona accogliente, estremamente gentile e disponibile. A 15 minuti di auto, da un lato, lo stabilimento della Lindt (informatevi bene prima di andare, perché senza prenotazione è quasi impossibile visitare il museo!), dall'altro, il ponte di legno sul Lago, che porta a Rapperswil. In alternativa, ci si può rilassare passaggiando lungo il lago, direttamente accessibile dall'appartamento. Anche la stazione ferroviaria è a pochissima distanza, con collegamenti diretti per l'aeroporto.

Come indicato, il parcheggio è su strada e non è compreso nel prezzo della camera (costo: circa un euro l'ora).

Everything was good.

It was clear before that the room is in the flat and you share it. Because it was stated very clearly it is okay.

Esther to bardzo sympatyczna i pomocna gospodyni. Od początku naszej wizyty była bardzo serdeczna. Sprawiła, że poczuliśmy się bardzo dobrze. Pokój jest przestronny i bardzo czysty. Łóżko wygodne i duże. Łazienka czysta i dobrze wyposażona. Mieszkanie posiada wspaniały widok na jezioro oraz góry. spacerkiem do jeziora jest dosłownie 5 minut a widoki są zachwycające. Jeżeli jeszcze kiedyś wrócimy w te rejony na pewno zatrzymamy się u Esther.

Nie było takiej rzeczy.

Bei Esther sein zu dürfen, war wie ein Aufenthalt bei Freunden und Familie. Eine sehr herzliche, zugewandte Dame, die mir massenhaft Tipps für ÖPNV, essen gehen, Kneipen etc rund um Zürich gegeben hat. Das 20qm Zimmer ist sauber, schön eingerichtet und das Bett ist super bequem (nicht zu weich). Das eigene Bad mit Dusche: top! Die Straße mit der Unterkunft liegt parallel zum Zürichsee, Fußweg 1 Minute. Große Klasse! Wenn mich mein Weg wieder durch die Schweiz führt, weiß ich, wo ich Station machen werde: bei Esther! Ganz klare Empfehlung.

Es gibt nichts (!) zu bemängeln!

Location,communicative and friendly host. Close to rhe lake for a morning swim

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, dieses Wochenende hier zu übernachten und kann die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Das Zimmer ist sehr schön, gemütlich und komfortabel eingerichtet. Es gibt mehrere Sitzmöglichkeiten, einen kleinen Tisch zum Lesen oder Arbeiten, einen Fernseher und alles, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt braucht. Das Badezimmer ist vollständig ausgestattet, die Dusche war sehr sauber und insgesamt war alles in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, sodass viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und Geschäfte bequem zu Fuß erreichbar sind. Mit etwas Glück findet man auch einen guten Parkplatz in der Nähe. Ein ganz besonderes Lob gilt der Gastgeberin. Sie ist eine wunderbare, herzliche, aufmerksame und äußerst freundliche Dame, die sich mit viel Engagement um ihre Gäste kümmert. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen und kann diese Unterkunft von ganzem Herzen weiterempfehlen.

Very spacious, luxurious, lovely room in a beautiful condo.

Esther fue muy amable y acogedora con nosotros. Una habitación muy espaciosa dentro de su casa con un baño de uso único para nosotros. Cama cómoda y habitación con todas las comodidades necesarias. Conexión cercana y fácil a transporte. Muy cercano al lago.

Quizá la habitación filtre demasiada luz si eres sensible a ello.

in der eigentlichen Wohnung riecht es etwas nach Rauch, im Zimmer und im Bad jedoch nicht

Esther was extremely friendly and kind. Made the stay feel extremely homey in the best way!

Die Unterkunft ist ohne Frühstück, das ist aber kein Problem, Bäcker und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind quasi um die Ecke. Man muss nur daran denken, dass man etwas Bargeld für die Parkuhr hat. Ansonsten ist von 20 - 08 Uhr freies Parken.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, the owner/host is really nice and understanding. Price is very good compared to hotels in the area.

Communication with Esther was quick and easy. Plus the location was ideal. Very quiet and beautiful neighborhood with lake and mountain views.

The host is very kind and informative, the house is super super clean and the room is huge. Heads up that it is a bit chilly in the night, but the blankets make it warm anyway. Private bathroom detached but with everything you need and clean. Super convenient to drive to Zurich.

The room temperature is a little bit cold.

Perfekte Lage und sehr freundliche Vermieterin. Grosses Schlafzimmer mit bequemem Kingsize-Bett, TV mit vielen Sendern. 2 Wasserflaschen sowie Wasserkocher und Instant-Kaffee und verschiedene Teesorten. Eigenes Badezimmer mit Dusche. Alles sehr sauber.

Ester war sehr nett, sie hat uns ein sehr gutes Restaurant in der Nähe empfohlen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten ausreichend Privatsphäre.

Sehr grosser Raum, sehr bequemes Bett! Und Esther ist super nett!

Wonderful homestay accommodation our room was very comfortable with a TV, kettle and a big cooling fan, the bathroom was also very nice with everything you need. Esther is a lovely lady and met our every need including letting us have some space in the fridge for our cool bag. You have free use of the balcony and I highly recommend this with views over Lake Zurich. There is a lift inside the apartment block and there is parking on the corner with a meter its only 1 CHF per hour and free from 18;00-08;00. Photos are from the balcony

Wir waren vier Tage bei Esther und haben es sehr genossen. Esther ist herzlich und einladend. Das Zimmer und das Badezimmer, die Teil ihrer großen Wohnung sind, sind sauber und gut ausgestattet. In Esthers Küche können Backofen, Mikrowelle und ein Regal im Kühlschrank genutzt werden. Kommen gerne wieder.

This was my second stay here and once again everything was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, with great internet connection. Esther was very kind and welcoming. The location is perfect — quiet, yet very close to the lake. Highly recommended!

El piso es increíble y cómodo y la habitación de excelente tamaño. Además Esther es una persona muy amable y servicial que hace de la estancia muy agradable. Enfrente de la casa está el lago y tienes acceso a él a 2 minutos.

We found this cozy and affordable accommodation by chance. Horgen is about 25 mins train from Zurich HB and 30 mins from Zurich airport It is a small town by Lake Zurich. The apartment is within walking distance from the train station and swimming facility. Excellent place to unwind and reboot.. Cost is a fraction of that in Zurich. We bought a rail pass that gives us unlimited rides in train, ferry, and bus in the whole zurich canton. This makes horgen an even better choice to stay. Although Chez Esther is a homestay, there is complete privacy as Esther is usually in her own room. Our own 26 sq m room has a desk, lounge area, TV, and many books. We have a dedicated toilet just outside our room solely for our use. We can use the oven and refrigerator. We can take our meals in one of two lovely terraces.

The kind and welcoming host provided a beautiful home and bedroom. It was quiet and private. The station was nearby, and the lake was a few steps away. I highly recommend the place for business travel and leisure stays.

The location of the apartment is simply super. The only "noice" comes from the train passing close by, but that didn't bother us at all. Other than that it's really peacefull and beautiful area. You feel safe and calm. Stores and restaurants are close by and you get around by train pretty easily. Esther is a wonderful and kind hostess and we felt very welcome to her home. Everything was nice and clean and the place had everything we needed: a huge bedroom, kitchen, toilet&shower and a balcony with a stunning view to the lake Zürich. We would definitely recommend if you appreciate a peaceful stay.

Safe location . Host helpful with local knowledge.

Very hot and stuffy. Apparently we should have closed the window shutters which we didn't know even existed and weren't closed when we arrived. Our host made a point of telling us she went to bed at 9pm, so when arrived one evening at 9.45 the flat was pitch dark and we felt we had to tiptoe around.

Modern style room with two big windows and with a view of the Zürich lake. Everything was very clean and with a high quality. A beautiful place. We slept very well in the comfortable bed.

It may be good to understand that is a "home stay", and you walk through the living-room and the kitchen to reach your room. You can use the kitchen to make your coffee but not to cook anything. There is a railway just behind the house but we were not disturbed during the night even though we slept with the window open.

Esther is a wonderful host. She is so kind, lovely and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything needed during my stay. The apartment was very clean, I had my own bathroom, private parking and all the amenities I needed. The location is excellent and the view from the balcony is sublime. It is the perfect spot to have a coffee in the morning, watching the sunrise over lake Zurich with the mountains on the horizon. Beautiful! It is also only a short walk to all the lovely restaurants Horgen has to offer and with great public transport links, Zurich is only a short journey away.

Nothing, everything was perfect. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be staying again when I return!

Esther was extremely friendly and kind. Although the house is not in the center, it is close to public transportation and there is free parking in front. The house overlooking Lake Zurich was very clean and comfortable.

The location was perfect, less than a minute's walk to a spot on the lake for swimming. I could see the lake from my room and the room was huge, really light and airy with a very comfortable bed.

Esther was a great host and she made sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed.

Pros:- 1. Good accomodation, big and clean room. 2. Silent neighbourhood. 3. Good view of lake from balcony. Cons:- 1. It's far from all the tourist attractions in Zurich. 2. Owner lady doesn't give any privacy with her constant questions and sermons. Self and wife felt like living in school hostel. Too much of interference. 3. There is no lock in the room door from inside.

There is no point having a luxurious room with constant nudging by owner and lack of privacy. Too many don't do this, don't do that. You simply don't feel welcomed. Book only if you want a school hostel experience.

The location was perfect for going down to the lake and to the shops etc. Also a 5 minute walk from the train station. Esther was such a welcoming hostess. Very helpful and kind . Clean and comfortable

If you want a great location near Zürich with a very friendly and helpful owner than look no further !! The room was very big, sparkle clean and very comfortable large bed with a great view over the lake Zürich. Bus stop @ 200m and great connection from and to Zürich airport. Thank you Esther for making me feel home ! You are an amazing host! I will for sure use your accommodation when back in Zürich!
