NOBATiA Guest House

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable visit. It is located in a beautiful area with lovely surroundings. The staff was kind, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The traditional breakfast was absolutely delicious and a great way to experience the local cuisine. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing hosts and an incredible location

The AC in one of the rooms with the nile view was not working. The bread with breakfast was very old and dry

View was incredible. Hosts were helpful, helped us with early check in and guided us to a private boat (Mohammed Ayman) who was very helpful, punctual, polite and not greedy. We used his boat for transportation from and to the island.

The apartment wasn't very clean, windows and doors not properly sealed and that resulted in lots of lizards/geckos around 7 inside the flat which made our stay very uncomfortable. The hosts tried to help but there was many of them and kept coming. Food was okay not that great.

Very nice and clean accommodation. The rooms were well-maintained, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The host was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Great experience overall—we would happily come back!

Llegamos de madrugada y avisaron a una barca para que nos recogiera en el muelle del KFC y nos llevara al alojamiento (no tuvimos que pagar). La señora que nos subía el desayuno era muy amable.

Cogimos este alojamiento expresamente por la cocina y estaba hecha un desastre: armarios rotos, el horno lleno de trapos y cosas, así que no se podía usar, el congelador lleno de pan de pita (se lo llevaron al día siguiente, tras avisar) y la nevera con unas 5 botellas llenas de ¿agua? pero abiertas todas (también avisamos, pero nunca se las llevaron). Por otro lado, en el baño no conseguimos utilizar el agua caliente y en el lavamanos, teníamos que estar abriendo y cerrando la llave cada vez porque si no perdía agua. La ubicación tampoco es muy buena, ya que está alejado del muelle principal de la Isla Elefantina y, si vas con maletas, como es nuestro caso, tendrás que arrastrarlas durante 15 minutos por un camino de tierra y arena cuando dejes el alojamiento (o pagar 6-7€ para que te recojan en el muellito al lado del alojamiento, porque el dueño nos dijo que lo teníamos que pagar nosotros si lo queríamos). Además, si no te gustan los reptiles, huye del lugar, ya que teníamos al menos dos lagartijas/geckos conviviendo con nosotros (a nosotros no nos importó, pero seguro que hay mucha gente a la que le dan asco). En el fondo nos da pena porque se nota que era una familia humilde, pero creemos que el lugar no está del todo en condiciones y además fue demasiado caro en comparación con los precios de otras alternativas.

The view is fantastic. The calmest area in Aswan. Really calm and serene.

The host doesnt speak English so it is pretty hard to communicate. We also paid a lot for private transfer between the guest house to the main land just to get to the tour starting area and to get food. When we reached, we didnt know we had to arrange our own boat to get to the island. It was until 1 hour+ before the host sent us a boat. We were quite lost. You cant take the public boat to the island as the house is located behind and way back of the island. I highly recommend u schedule pick up with the guest house since you can easily get lost.

The staff was very kind and flexible. Our flight was delayed, so we missed the last ferry to the island. Fortunately, the owners helped us out at no extra charge. They sent a boat to pick us up and take us directly to the guesthouse. It felt good knowing that most people would have charged extra fees.

The apartment is really big. Two bedrooms have excellent Nile views. It's a beautiful neighborhood, very quite, good air.

Egyptian citizens must be married to share the apartment.

This guest house was in a prime location and view, it's located in elephentain Island which is near to central of city but need ferry to get in, the ferry cost 10 EGP for Egyptians one way ticket in normal hours and 50 EGP after 12 AM. The view of the guest house was looking to Plants park which is a must see destination in Aswan. The Nile view was amazing and quiet for relaxing. The room was clean and smell good. The bathroom also was clean. It has kitchen with basics need. Thanks for the Host Mr.Ahmed & Eng.Hesham for facilitating the early check-in and preparing the room

For check-in and check-out with luggage you need to rent a private boat to help you get into the guest house. After that you can easily get into the guest house with the public ferry which is 5 min walk from the building.

Great WiFi. Great view and lovely breakfast.

Location is a little hard to get to and in a poor part of the village. I’d recommend getting a boat to take you rather than going through the village. The owner was happy to arrange the return trip.

The peace and quiet was a balm to the soul after Cairo. The staff went out of their way to help, a boat arriving at 2am after a delayed journey and again at 4am to start the trip to Abu Simbel. Everything works!

Being as everyone is going to arrive and leave by boat, a light on the landing steps would be useful.

NOBATIA Guest house is located on the western side of Elephantine Island with great views of the Nile. We were picked up at the public ferry and guided to the guest house, with markets and restaurants along the way pointed out. The apartment was spacious, with a big bathroom, a kitchen and a choice of rooms to look out on the Nile from. Nicely decorated and clean. Good value. Very quiet.

The paths on Elephantine Island are dirt and there are no cars. We had rucksacks so this didn't bother us but we saw someone else struggling to drag a suitcase. There were no top sheets provided (we didn't ask). The mattresses were a little on the soft side for us.

Amazing Host. Neat and Clean appartment. All utensils available for cooking(although we didn't use). Situated right next to the Nile river in the Elephantine island. Take a ferry (10 EGP per way) opp. KFC (Ferry available 24*7) and walk for another 10 mins to reach the location. Might be a lil difficult with heavy luggage but the stay is worth it. Double bedroom with spacious living room. Both the rooms have a small balcony attached with big windows facing the Nile. Ideal stay in a Nubian village. Excellent wifi and air condition.The hosts are easily reachable via WhatsApp. Helped us in all way possible. Very kind and generous. Would stay again if am in Aswan. I know I have a home there :)

Improvement: Nice to have, toilet kit(soap or shower gel) on per person basis instead of one soap for all.

The beautiful view over the Nile. The apartment was clean, pleasent and colored with gentle Nubian motives. WIFI worked perfectly well and so did the kitchen. We enjoyed the stay a lot. The area is interesting, there is local shops and restaurants with great view of Asuan. Mind you: the apartment is far from Asuan itself ( Elephantina island).

Nice location on elephantine island. Good views of the river at sunset. Friendly family downstairs operate the property. They let us drop our bags early before checking in which was a big help! Hot showers!

Kettle was broken, but that didn't effect us! The public boat only runs 6am to midnight, so I'f you have an early tour make sure to snap a photo of the boat guys WhatsApp so you can arrange an early ferry off the island!

The owner/manager Ahmed is very responsive and super helpful. The view is gorgeous and the apartment is well-located (north side of Elephantine island, just behind Movenpick hotel), a quiet area only 5-7 min walk from the ferry.

I liked everything. I would like it if accommodation in Egypt provided towels and soap in the bathroom.

I did not like the kitchen also the balcony doors did not close. Matress needs change.

Ahmed it's a really easy going person, very kind, and helps you in everything you need. The apartment was clean, good shower and comfortable beds.

He didn't have enough towels for the 4 of us, and the breakfast he left us to take on an excursion was too basic. Could have been more generous. We came just to sleep, which was not good because it's too much of a boat taxi ride to just sleep. So it's only worth it if you stay longer.

We flew into Aswan for a river cruise and stayed for one night at the Nobatia Guest House. Everybody was extremely helpful and friendly. Communication was great. They answered every text (via Whatsapp) within minutes. Our room had 3 bedrooms, 2 of which overlooked the Nile. The living room also overlooked the Nile. They cook breakfast for you and deliver straight to your room at your desired time. There is also a riverfront restaurant on site. You do have to take a ferry across the river since it sits on an island. The hotel arranged our 4 person airport transfer with private motorboat pick up for $40 USD. We should have stayed in Aswan for the bulk of our trip instead of Cairo. It is a much cleaner, quieter, scenic, and friendly city.

the view was the best, it was comfortable and clean, we were 7 people and the owner let us stay together

the breakfast was really poor for 7 people we had a problem with the water heater the walk to the hotel didn’t have any marks or indications so we got lost a lot but thankfully it was a short walk.

Big place. They kept our luggage after check-out.

No water the first night to shower, 2 towels missing (we had to dry ourselves with blankets instead towels), we had to ask for toilet paper, no shower gel or soap provided.

we paid with booking but the owner asked us for the money in cash… just be careful with the host communication as they’re not very welcoming and woke us up to ask for the money at night!
