Staff was helpful
Location especially away from city and required a boat to get to places. Beds not clean and bathroom really bad.
Nice place for the little bit more adventurous travellers. Little difficult to find, no towel and soap and low water pressure, not spot clean. But very nice staff, beautiful rooftop terrace view, good local breakfast. And very good value for money.
Good and friendly People in charge. They are reliable to organize transports and trips. The food is good, the location perfect to visit the area and the rooftop is the cherry on the cake.
room was big
location, u have to get always by boat,
Very good welcome, if you want relax in nubian style it's perfect! They can arrange tour in very good conditions. Breakfast is very good. Thank you very much!
Fantastic location, beautiful view from the balcony, there is a terrace on the roof with a breathtaking view, friendly and helpful staff with a positive attitude, very good place, I recommend it to travelers who love nature and a lot of walking, this place is the cider of Elephantine Island, I recommend it 1000%
Great views from roof. Typical breakfast, but needed to locate staff to order.
Old, two rooms one smelt other ok.
Used this room as we were waiting for our apartment.
Our entire experience at El Prince Guesthouse was great. The staff did everything they could to make our stay in Aswan easy and enjoyable. We had a river-view apartment and really enjoyed being able to relax on the balcony while taking in the Nile view from time to time. Crossing over to Elephantine Island is easy and inexpensive. Once there, you’ll find great, affordable restaurant options. The island is also home to a Nubian village where it feels safe and pleasant to walk around. Breakfast was served on the rooftop each morning, and the owner even prepared a breakfast box for us on the morning we left for Abu Simbel at 4 a.m. The apartment was fairly clean and very spacious.
Ras
Bon hébergement sur l’île Éléphantine. Au calme avec une superbe vue. Personnel très arrangeant. Je recommande
The manager is very responsible and has a very calm energy
The shower in the private bathroom was not functioning very well, had to use the shared one
The team is friendly
What a nice find! The view from the rooms and roof terrace is great, overlooking the botanical garden island and the route to desert monastery on the west bank. Absolutely no traffic noise from the city at all, just lots of quiet sailboats and an occasional water taxi. The manager Amgad was incredibly kind to us - from (huge) packaged breakfast we could not possibly finish ourselves, to a wake up knock on the door to make sure we don't oversleep for our daytrip, even taking us on his private motorboat on the last day, not just between the islands for sights, but also to the dock near train station. Nothing was ever a problem. We truly believe this is one of the best guest houses in its class in Aswan. It is not fancy, but the bed is comfy, hot water runs and as long as you set your expectations right, this is a lovely place to use as home base while you explore.
Bit hard to find in the maze of narrow dirt streets, but the location and view are worth it. Could be considered a bit rough, but we're used to exposed wires, lower cleaning standards and occasional bug. It's comparable to most hostels in the world. Problems with bathroom water running were promptly fixed and in the meantime we got access to a much larger (shared) bath with a proper bathtub. The manager really went out of his way to make our stay comfortable despite the drawbacks
Great breakfast, amazing view and nice quiet location!
Nothing
El Prince Guesthouse is in an amazing location on Elephantine Island. The Host Amer is a lovely man and couldn’t be more helpful. The Guesthouse has a great rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the peace and quiet broken by the odd donkey!! The views are spectacular over the Nile and also watching the sunset. The Wi-Fi was the excellent.
Nothing.
Amgad is a great and friendly man in addition to the view is perfectly splendid
The bathroom inside my room was too tiny
What I liked most about the accommodation is the island; the people living on the island are very friendly and hospitable, and they truly give you a local experience.
Everything, awesome little spot sitting overtop of the Nile. Absolutely beautiful views all day round, just down from the hotel is an amazing swimming spot too. Highly recommend
Nothing
The owner is quite good to give us a packup breakfast.
The location is not quite good. You have to take ferry every time.
The place is so chilled compared to the ones on the other side facing the city. You can swim in the Nile and see the perfect sunset from here. Choose the room with the balcony, you will not regret it.
The owner was very kind and made sure I always had everything I needed
Cleaning of spaces could be improved
Super friendly host and staff! Great location if you like it a bit more quiet.
The views from the room and the attached balcony of sunset over the nile was fabulous. Amjad, the owner, was a gem of a person - good conversations and always ensured we got packed breakfast if we had to leave early. The rooftop terrace is a cool location to soak in evening sunset view, don't miss it. Plus, the people on the island are very friendly and gives you the feel of staying in a quiet village.
The only point I didn't like was we thought we had booked a double bed but got twin beds, but it's not a deal breaker. Guesthouse is on the other side of the island so getting there with a public ferry means hauling your luggages from the pier. You have to rely on local help because google maps is not accurate on the island. Again, these are just minor points and not even orange flags :)
Being on Elephantine Island, in the middle of Nubian village was an authentic experience. Hotel rooms are basic but comfortable enough and clean. Hotel has a pet baby crocodile! Our host, Amgad was very helpful and friendly and made our stay pleasant. Good value for money and worked well for our large family as we got a whole floor to ourselves and 4 bathrooms between 8 of us! It was also close to the attractions such as Anamalia & Elephantine Island museum.
The staff was super friendly, the location amazing, the food tasty and the view was epic. The Nubian locals in the area were possibly the highlighy of our trip, extremely friendly, helpful and kind. The terrace view was beautiful
The shower was clogged with hairs, there was no sheets for the thick blankets so it was too hot, the fan was super loud and broken.
Amjad’s kindness, the daily breakfast, and the spectacular views.
That we didn’t stay long enough!
Nice rooftop On the quiet side of the island, but still 5 minutes walk from everything Great value for money Great service - the team was really helpful to organise transfers, everything was on time and they were really thoughtful. Thank you will definitely recommend
Perfect location, beautiful view, nice staff. Good to place to visit the island and surrounding.
It is in a lovely setting on the island with nice views over the Nile to the botanical gardens and desert beyond. The guys who work there are very kind, and the breakfast is simple but classic and sustaining. The views from the rooftop in particular are great. We share some happy sunrises and sunsets there.
This is a clean place, though perhaps a little rough around the edges. Imagine a clean place run by bedouin and you may have an idea... these guys are Nubian so respect to the culture.
Wonderful guesthouse on Elephantine Island. Amgad and Amir are fantastic hosts really welcoming and helpful. Really made us feel at home. The location is great, wonderful views of the nile from the terrace cafe. Good wifi. Can’t say enough good things. One of my favorite places
Nothing
The village the guest house was nestled in was very welcoming. The place was colourful and interesting. The staff were all wonderful. An easy walk to the ruins on Elephantine and the Aswan Museum. Boats to get places were easy to find. Ferries were very cheap.
it's just a paradise for those who are looking for nature and the quietness
Magic was really helpful and nice ☺️ Elephantine island is really chill and quiet
The guest house is on the quiet site of the small island, directly in front of the river, some beautiful wildlife live all around. Only 5 minutes walk to the public ferry. Majid our host was so helpful, he took us in his boat to nearby Kitchener island then to a lovely sandy beach on the river where we swam in the clear water of the Nile, an amazing experience.
El Prince Guesthouse is a real gem on Elephantine Island. We had a large apartment with everything we needed. The staff is extremely friendly, they more than met our expectations and wishes. Took us to the West bank on a boat at 4AM, made boxes with breakfast for us :-) Great location, the island is an amazing place to stay in Aswan.
The views of the terrace
Amgad or Mageck was responsible for managing everything on the stay and he also managed everything of our tours to aswan, always offering good prices and good suggestions for us. He was always really attentive to us regardless the time of the day, we always knew we could count on him. We had an incident on the Abu Simbel visit (we need to be a little late to leave because of the roads), but he was very transparent and clear on communication and helped us through. Place location is very good, elephantine island is a goldmine inside aswan, if you want a really good place to relax and to know the locals, this place is for you. You can walk by yourself and talk with locals without being afraid of being harassed. Nubian people are very polite and gentle with everyone, you literally feel home with them. The guest house location is very good as well, we could even swim in the nile river at the afternoon! Great experience! Bedroom was quite comfortable by the price we paid and bathroom was decent.
Bathroom is the weakeast part of this acommodation: it's not much clean and the shower is in the same space of the toilet - so there is water leaking to all the floor. However, there is an option of collective bathroom - for low season it's great because we can use mainly alone. However, by the price, people and great location it didn't bother us that much.
The host was.amazing and helped with anything you will need. sunrise on the rooftop and breakfast were excellent. Will come back again
Wonderful staff and location
Cleanliness, water in the shower was not hot
This is incredible value for money. The view over the Nile from the roof top dining area is magical and the host Abgad was always on hand to help and very unusually for Egypt, was laid back and never hassled us. The island itself has a distinctly different character to anywhere else we visited in Egypt. It remains a 1970s, backpackers paradise, the island is not suitcase friendly, and don’t expect any frills.
The location of the house is superb. Especially the view from the rooftop terrace. To enjoy the breakfast there is something special. You can see the Nile and the flourishing green Botanical Island and in the background the sand dunes. Our host was also very helpful. He made everything to make our stay comfortable.
The room itself was pretty small and the furniture is basic. But this is normal on this island. It could have been cleaner.
Great views overlooking water and botanical gardens. Friendly helpful staff, great food, cold beers. Easy walk to ferry. Very reasonable price.
Shower was not great (could work around it though).
I took a spontaneous two-day trip to Aswan while staying in Luxor to get an insight into this beautiful city, and above all, to travel on to Abu Simbel. My expectations were exceeded: I went on a lovely boat ride to some of the surrounding highlights (Kitchener's Island, the Tombs of the Nobels) with Amgad, my host, who patiently waited for me while I did my sightseeing. He also organised a transfer to Philae Temple (a must-see!) and my trip to Abu Simbel (just wow!), all for a reasonable price. I also loved the view of the Nile from the rooftop and the tranquil atmosphere on Elephantine Island with its friendly inhabitants.
The room was maybe a bit too basic. No problem for two nights, but a functioning shower would have been nice, and I had to ask for fresh sheets, a towel, and toilet paper. But I got them, so no drama.:)
Great service with Anjep providing packed breakfasts for our early starts and also arranging transportation by private boat. It's great value - give the Movenpick a miss and save your $ for the wonderful temples and tombs
Rooms were missing some towels and its a hard place to get to independently. Island does not have paved roads (all dirt and sand) so luggage is problematic without their private transfers
Very nice guesthouse with a great view over the Nile. The owner is a kind person willing to help. Also, a good breakfast and a welcome drink.
Everything is good.
I spent 2 full marvellous days in El Prince Guesthouse It's a nice and simple accommodation, where you'll find everything you need for your short stay in an authentic environnement. The house itself is nestled in lush greenery on Elephantine island The co-owner, well-named Magic, is the personification of the kindness. He was not only my host - he was my boatman, my tour-guide, my help for everything I needed during my stay. Thank you Magic!!
Some furniture
Quiet guest house with fantastic view of the Nile and the botanical gardens. Wonderful host arranged everything for us - tour to the monastery, tombs of the nobles, Nubian village, botanical gardens, taxi to the airport. He even took us to the local grocery store. Makes a lovely breakfast too. The terrace is outstanding. The surroundings are rural and lovely.
Lovely hotel with terrific view over the Nile to the botanical gardens on Kitchener Island and the tombs of the nobles. The upstairs terrace is outstanding. You can watch beautiful sail boat passing by. The host and manager Amgad is very helpful and will make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. He will also arrange excursions for you and take you where you want to go. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. It is a quiet and calm hotel surrounded by a lovely village, fields and nature.
The staff. The view from the rooftop terrace.
I took 5 mins boat ride to reach hostel. Address was explained by the host. He welcomed me with drinks. The room was super clean. The host is super friendly. I had to leave for my trip before 04 am, the host make sure that I do not leave without breakfast. He woke up at 3 am and packed my breakfast. I am super satisfied with this booking.
· The Prince Guest House is perfectly located on the island of Elephantine. You can reach it by boat - either a public ferry or a private ferry to the island. The terrace offers views of Kitchener Island, the Botanic Gardens and up and down the Nile towards the Tombs of the Nobles. At night, Aswan can be seen in light. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms are clean. The staff was so kind and friendly. The owner did everything to make us feel really comfortable. He organized all our trips to Abu Simbel, Luxor and around the island. He took me everywhere in his own boat. I can only recommend!!!
I liked the location of the property and the staff were amazing and I found the atmosphere very relaxing
Breakfast was excellent! Amged is a wonderful host!
Wonderful and real experience in a Nubian village. Directly in front of the Nile, this guest house has as major advantage Amgad's hospitality. Anything may be resolved with a honest smile, such a great and hard working person. However, you need to be open minded about it, as you will be sleeping in a very humble and basic island, and so are the facilities. Nevertheless, there so much more to see that these detais, such as a doorless private bathroom, doesn't really mater.
Rooms could be cleaner.
My gratitude for the excellent treatment I received from the hotel receptionist. Their professionalism and kindness really made my stay enjoyable.
Subject: Appreciation and suggestions for improvement The name of the hotel is Prince Address / Aswan Island Dear hotel owner I hope this letter finds you well. I recently had the pleasure of staying at your establishment and wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the excellent treatment I received from the hotel receptionist. Their professionalism and kindness really made my stay enjoyable. Although my experience was generally positive, I would like to bring to your attention some important observations which, if addressed, can enhance the level of performance and guest satisfaction of your hotel. Cleanliness: I noticed during my stay that the cleanliness of the place needs more attention, especially with regard to the large number of geckos. I understand that such events can be challenging, but taking measures to minimize their occurrence or promptly address any related issues would greatly improve the overall comfort of guests. Transportation: One aspect that could be improved is the ease of transportation across the Nile to the other bank. This can be a valuable addition to your services, making exploring the area more convenient for guests. A dedicated shuttle service or clear transportation plan would be appreciated. Pricing transparency: Some challenges were encountered with regard to pricing local launches for the Nile crossing. It appears that some operators were taking advantage of the situation and engaging in unfair pricing practices. Ensuring transparent and fair pricing for such services would enhance the guest experience and prevent any unpleasant surprises. I believe that addressing these issues will not only benefit guests, but also contribute to the overall success and reputation of your hotel. Your dedication to improving the guest experience is commendable, and I trust you will take these suggestions into consideration.
The location of this guest house is perfect to explore Elephantine Island and the view from the terrace is amazing. Amir, the owner, helped us in everything we needed and made our stay truly unforgettable.
The host was very welcoming, and helpful. However the guest house was really dirty.Bathrooms Shower head was broken, and toilets were dirty too.The only reason I stayed for one night, was because I was extremely exhausted from a long train ride.I would not go back again
DIRTY place!dirty bathroom,uncomfortable beds,
The staff was very friendly and responsive to any questions or requests
The room was not clean, no top bed sheet, the towels were dirty and the poor drainage of the shower into the whole bathroom (as one small room) made the floor very slippery
