Our Room was good but the cupboard were falling out and we did not get heads up about it, there were no Mops to wipe the floor and the TV remote was bad, one woman receptionist was totally angry don't know but we enjoyed our stay with you guys .

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026We didn't have a bin for the bathroom only brought on Thursday when they cleaned our room and we only had one tissue and only on the day when they cleaned the room. Some remote control didn't have batteries and had to change around to use the remote control. Windows and sliding doors were very dirty including window seals. We had one glass for drinking water the other glass was for drinking sherry. One pot was dirty as if it was just used for frying. freezer had ice in it. No mops around.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The service at the hotel was excellent — they gave me a warm welcome and were very easy to communicate with, as were the attendants and the building manager. They handed me the keys smoothly and without any hassle. I arrived early, and they kindly allowed me to check in at 1:30 p.m., even though the official check-in time is 2 p.m. The location is perfect — it’s within walking distance to uShaka Marine and close to the sea, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
However, when I got to the room, it wasn’t what I expected. The cushions had an unpleasant smell and didn’t seem clean. The bed was uncomfortable, and I couldn’t put my clothes in the closet because of the odor. The extra duvet also smelled strongly of urine, so I couldn’t use it. Because of this, I wasn’t able to sleep there the following night and ended up staying at a friend’s place with my daughter.

Honestly, this place does not even deserve a 1 rating!!! Our four night stay at The Sails Point apartments in Durban was one of the most disappointing accommodation experiences we’ve ever had. The level of neglect, lack of cleanliness, and overall misrepresentation of the units is completely unacceptable for a property advertised on reputable booking platforms. From the moment we walked in, it was obvious that the apartment looked nothing like the photos online. The Sails Point apartments are being advertised in a way that does not reflect their true condition. The level of neglect, the hygiene issues, the pest problem, and the dismissive attitude from management made this stay incredibly stressful and disappointing. Even after being moved to a supposedly upgraded unit, the problems continued. The lack of accountability and refusal to offer a proper refund speaks volumes about how this property is being run. In its current state, I cannot recommend The Sails Point apartments to anyone. Basic cleanliness, maintenance, and comfort should be the minimum — and unfortunately, this property failed on all three.

Most appliances, the toaster and dishwasher were rusted and couldn't be used. I decided to cook a meal one evening, but no rice strainer and very few microwave dishes. Only one clean dishcloth provided. I think the kitchen needs some stocking up for a family who'd like to stay in and enjoy the facilities/accomodation more.

Reviewed Jan 3, 2026The venue was in a quiet area. The security was tight which I liked very much. The room was clean, comfortable and cosy. Battled at first with the TV but later got it. I wish there is arrangement for a second car which we ddnt have. But otherwise I had a wonderful stay there.
The TV bit. They had Open View so not much to watch there. No guest parking or second car parking available as me and my partner were travelling from different places. The response from the host was delayed but not too bad. The shower drain needs attention as I was in a pool of water on my feet when I had a shower. All I thought about was “fungal infection”
