Living Funchal X

The property is so central, there is a shopping plaza within 2 minutes walk and plenty of great restaurants right outside. Despite being so central it was very quiet at night and easy to get a nights rest.

Le parking de l’hôtel est cher alors qu’il y a un parking public à 5 minutes à pied pour moitié moins cher.

Logement très bien situé et hôtesse très réactive

Appartement très bien équipé et idéalement situé pour découvrir Funchal ou prendre le ferry pour Porto Santo. Le lit est également très confortable.

Mal insonorisé, on entend bien les voisins.

Cheiro a mofo das almofadas, barulho desagradável e persistente, muito provavelmente associado à ventilação dos apartamentos contíguos. Também encontramos baratas no WC. Após reportar alguns dos problemas via SMS do Booking, não recebi retorno por parte da gerente (Joana).

Quarto limpo, local muito central no Funchal com restaurantes, pastelarias e shopping a 40 metros, muito confortável. Muito bom mesmo. Estacionamento coberto a 50 metros.

Check-in time is 4.30 pm, but we had to wait (cleaning personnel) and could only acess 1 h later. private parking procedure is a hassle, time consuming, complicated (payment, finding/acess to parking building). we did not get an answer whether we could acess the parking prior to the check-in time so we had to park in a public parking house and therefore had to pay extra. Cleanliness is an issue... (shower) :(.

Bij aankomen was kamer nog niet in orde. Dit heeft toch nog enkele uren geduurd tegen we op de kamer konden.

L'emplacement est très bien. A 2 pas d'un centre commercial pour les courses. Funchal, centre ville et bord de mer, peuvent se faire à pieds depuis l'appartement sans aucun problème. Joanna a été très réactive et à notre écoute. J'ai vraiment apprécié sa disponibilté.

La solución del estacionamiento debería estar incluida en el apartamento. Nos tocó resolver este ítem por nuestra propia cuenta. Aunque no nos fue mal (parqueamos sin contratiempo en la calle), pudimos tener más precisión en ese sentido.

Nie polecam, Po zarezerwowaniu noclegu okazało się, że trzeba dodatkowo zapłacić za parking 15 euro. Po przyjeździe okazało się że nasza karta parkingowa się zgubiła więc parkin musieliśmy zorganizować sami (udało się z 7eur zaraz obok mieszkania). Tych 15 euro które zapłaciliśmy nigdy nie odzyskaliśmy pomimo częstych pytań czy możemy prosić o zwrot.

Unser Aufenthalt war leider sehr enttäuschend. Die Betten waren hart und bereits stark durchgelegen, sodass wir nicht gut schlafen konnten. Auch das Sofa war deutlich durchgesessen und die Stühle waren sehr instabil – die Beine standen bereits in verschiedene Richtungen, sodass man sich kaum darauf setzen wollte. Die Küchenausstattung hat uns ebenfalls nicht überzeugt. Außerdem roch es in der Unterkunft unangenehm muffig, insbesondere die Handtücher. Während unseres einwöchigen Aufenthalts wurden diese kein einziges Mal gewechselt, was wir als sehr unhygienisch empfunden haben. Zusätzlich wurde uns für die gesamte Woche lediglich ein Müllsack zur Verfügung gestellt. Für den Parkplatz mussten wir 105 € bezahlen. Leider funktionierte der Türcode bei unserer Ankunft nicht. Als wir dies gemeldet haben, empfanden wir die Kommunikation mit Joana als ungeduldig und genervt. Aufgrund eines vorherigen Missverständnisses hatten wir bereits den Eindruck, dass die Kommunikation nicht besonders freundlich war. Insgesamt hat das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis für uns leider überhaupt nicht gestimmt. Aufgrund der vielen Mängel können wir die Unterkunft nicht weiterempfehlen.

Great location in the city center

The apartment was very noisy, with constant traffic noise coming from the street outside the bedroom, making it difficult to sleep. The hair dryer was broken, and although we reported it and requested a replacement, it was never replaced. The towels were also never changed during our one-week stay. After we mentioned this, someone attempted to deliver fresh towels several times at around 5:00 p.m. on the day before our check-out, repeatedly ringing the doorbell while we were taking a nap. This was inconvenient and could have been handled much better.

Il manque quelques éléments pour rendre la cuisine parfaitement fonctionnelle (des poêles en plus, une passoire, quelques tasses en plus …)

Très bon petit déjeuner, le principe de la box quotidienne était cool. Tout très propre, bien proportionné.

Pas sûre que la surface mentionnée dans l'annonce correspond à la taille du logement. Ne louez pas une place de parking de l'hôtel, garez-vous plutôt sur un parking publique de la ville, Santa Luzia par exemple à 5,50€ au lieux des 15€ proposés par l'hôtel. Canapé-lit inconfortable.

El apartamento era amplio y cómodo para dos personas. Estaba todo muy limpio y la ubicación era muy buena. La anfitriona fue siempre muy amable.

Het appartement ligt op een goede centrale locatie. Het appartement was schoon. Tevens was het prettig dat er een klein tafeltje stond waardoor ik gemakkelijk wat werk kon verrichten.

Er zijn geen rolluiken, alleen rolgordijnen. Dat betekent dat het nooit volledig donker wordt in het appartement. Ook houdt het niet alle hitte buiten. Gelukkig is er wel een airco.

Nous avons aimé le contact avec Joana sur whatsap. Elle nous a aidé et nous ne nous sommes pas sentis délaissés.

L’emplacement est idéal. Situé dans le centre de funchal c’est très pratique. La possibilité d’avoir un parking à proximité du logement est très appréciable. Parking payant 15€ par jour avec la propriétaire, un peu cher. Le logement est à côté d’un centre commercial avec un magasin pour faire les courses, très pratique.

L’appartement n’était pas parfaitement propre, tache sur les essuies et les drap de lit. Caffard mort à l’entrée de l’immeuble. La télévision est de mauvaise qualité et bug tout le temps. Les poêles mises à disposition sont vieille et griffée, elles devraient être remplacée vu le prix qu’on paye le logement. Le matelas est horrible, de mauvaise qualité et très ancien, doit être remplacé vu le prix demandé pour le logement.

Posizione eccellente per visitare la città, ottima comunicazione con lo staff per il check-in. La stanza era pulita e fornita di tutto il necessario per il soggiorno.

Wonderful location to the center city. Large shopping mall across the street with lots of stores including a full size grocery store with very reasonable prices. Walkable to everything with several nice restaurants close by.

The furniture needs to be updated. The bed was so hard and the only chair to sit on was broken.

Quand nous sommes arrivés à 19h le logement n'était pas nettoyé! Heureusement réussi a joindre le propriétaire, et puis laissé nos bagages le temps que ça soit nettoyé. Ça été fait rapidement

The only and only thing that bothered me is the shower host. It was held so high that i have to jump to bring it down. Maybe all the Portuguese is tall. Not a big issue .

Perfect location. Close to everything

Some guests can be noisy at times. But they're are notices about keeping noise down after certain hours.

Posizione eccellente vicino (per chi ama camminare) alle principali zone di interesse, 2' a piedi da centro commerciale con fornito supermercato, al parcheggio privato (€ 15/die). Appartamento abbastanza grande e silenzioso. Presenza ascensore.

Fermarsi presso l'alloggio per ritirare il biglietto di ingresso garage è stato estremamente disagevole perché non c'è parcheggio. Inoltre la strada, già molto stretta, lo era ancora di più per i lavori di ristrutturazione dello stabile alloggio. Al di là dei messaggi/mail, immagini e link inviati (che non sono stati affatto utili) , individuare il garage è stata una impresa titanica: per fortuna ho trovato varie gentili persone che mi hanno dato indicazioni. Sarebbe stato sufficiente fornire semplicemente l'indirizzo. I numeri comunicati di 2 ingressi garage (che noi, peraltro, avevamo già individuato) erano invertiti: anche in questo caso lo abbiamo scoperto grazie a dei ragazzi. Check-in alle 16,30. L'aria condizionata non funzionava: abbiamo capito che si trattava delle batterie esaurite che noi abbiamo acquistato e cambiato (le abbiamo riprese). Siamo stati 5 giorni e c'erano solo 4 capsule di caffè, 4 bustine di zucchero, nessuna salvietta di carta: abbiamo acquistato noi. Avevamo solamente 3 paia di asciugamani, quindi ho chiesto via Whatsapp di poterne avere un altro paio ed anche, dato che saremmo partiti alle 5 a.m., se dovessimo restituire il biglietto garage visto che il permesso parcheggio scadeva (é stato scomodo dover tornare all'ingresso alloggio per lasciare il biglietto). Non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta. Fortunatamente c'erano 2 signore delle pulizie cui abbiamo chiesto un cambio asciugamani. Le lenzuola/federe avevano lo sgradevole odore della biancheria che non è stata ben asciugata. Tutto sommato è andata bene, ma, essendo grandi viaggiatori, abbiamo molti parametri di confronto ovvero molti elementi valutativi!

Excelente ubicación con supermercado, farmacia, restaurantes, cafeterías todo demasiado cerca, fácil acceso al alojamiento sin complicacion alguna, la cama almohadas y cobijas 10/10 es amplio.

Todo me gustó en general, pero sí que aconsejaría un poquito más de limpieza a profundidad(aunque el apartamento estaba limpio) solo eran detalles como por ejemplo la nevera o los aparatos eléctricos estaban un poco sucios pero nada del otro mundo.

The apartment is ideally located in the heart of the old town, making it a great starting point for exploring Funchal. Plaza Madeira shopping centre is only a short walk away and includes a large supermarket, which was very convenient during the stay. The location also made it easy to be picked up for tours and excursions nearby. A private taxi service is available through the accommodation as well. Arthur, the driver, was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Upon arrival, he kindly gave a brief introduction to the area and pointed out several useful places nearby. Communication with the host was clear and efficient throughout. The apartment access codes are sent on the day of arrival, and both check-in and check-out were smooth and uncomplicated. I stayed in Apartment K, which was spacious, tidy, and comfortable. Small details such as the olive oil, salt, and pepper provided were a thoughtful touch.

One aspect that unfortunately affected my stay was the limited hot water supply in the shower. From the beginning of my stay, the hot water only lasted around two minutes, and by the end this had improved to approximately five minutes. I reported the issue straight away, and the owner did come by the following day to attempt a solution, which I appreciated. Although some adjustments were made afterwards by increasing the boiler temperature, this only improved the hot water in the kitchen and bathroom sink, while the shower itself remained an issue. Unfortunately, the problem was never fully resolved during my stay. After reading previous reviews mentioning similar complaints, it seems this may be a recurring issue affecting more than one apartment. This was disappointing, as it did have an impact on the overall comfort of the stay. The apartment includes an induction cooktop, although there were no instructions available on how to operate it initially. It also took some time to figure out which pans were compatible with certain burners. As a final suggestion, the apartment currently only has one mirror, located in the bathroom. Given the generous amount of space in the living and sleeping area, a larger full-length mirror would be a valuable addition for guests.

Emplacement idéale dans la vielle ville, beaucoup de restaurants et magasins à proximité à pied. Appartement propre et relativement tranquille le jour et calme et sans bruit la nuit. La personne contact responsable de l'appartement toujours très réactive pour répondre aux questions ou soucis.

Rien, tout était bien, sauf la météo pendant notre séjour, balade sous la pluie ou dans les nuages mais cela avait son charme.

Frukosten levererades till rummet varje dag. Frukostboxen var väl tilltagen så det räckte som lunch när man promenerade i hamnen eller i parken. Hotellet är bra placerat inom gångavstånd till det mesta. Nära till saluhallen, hamnen, restauranger, hop-on-bussen och butiker. Det finns garderob att hänga in sina kläder. Ett prisvärt boende.

Badrummet är lite trångt och dörren går inåt.

Excellent location. In the centre lots of restaurants bars and cafés around. 9 mins walk away from cr7 museum. Have all the basic amenities. I would definitely choose to stay here next time.

*The location is amazing. *The kitchen is equipped with all you need. *The building is safe and secure. *The shower is powerful and hot. *The apartment has good space. *There are some TV channels that play English shows/movies. *The communication with Joana was clear and swift. *The building and location were quiet. *Check in was easy. *Luggage storage.

*The bed was too hard for me. I barely slept for two nights then I folded the duvet into quarters and slept on top of that and it was fine. My boyfriend had no issues but he can even sleep in the floor. I reccomend a thick mattress topper is added because there are several comments about the bed. *I would have liked more plug sockets.

De locatie

Uitstekende locatie, bij een grote supermarkt, halte (7? bij The Vine) van aerobus en eettentjes. Met veel ruimte. En ik zat op de hoogste verdieping, dus ook nog wat uitzicht. En was een werkende lift, dus na lange dag geen trappen op hoeven sjokken. Relatief rustig gebied, geen geluidsoverlast gehad. En kon in de buurt opgepikt worden voor excursies. En als extra naast basis van wat koffie en thee ook olijfolie en peper en zout ed. Vooraf informatie gekregen voor locatie, wifi en duidelijke zelfincheckinstructies (via codes, geen menselijk contact nodig gehad).

Geen oven, enkel magnetron. En ik had wat moeite met de bediening van het fornuis, maar werkte wel. Voelde licht een paar springveren in het bed, maar prima door even anders te gaan liggen (goede nachtrust gehad).

Location was excellent, staff was extremely helpful in solving problems. Upgraded immediately when they couldn’t locate key to initial appartment and solved issues as they appeared.

Stuffy place, didn’t quite feel like a place I would have liked to spend a whole week in. Issues kept appearing, with the key, the AC, the toilet but, to be fair, they were fast to fix them even on a weekend.

A very nice stay in a clean and well situated location. My friend would have liked to sleep on the couch at first, but we decided to share the bed because in the front room you could hear the noise from the street. It was ok in the end, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Location is very convenient, the place was well equipped. We were grateful for the parking option although it cost 15.- per day.

Rooms are pretty small.

The location is excellent, and finding the right entrance was very easy. It shows up in Googe maps exactly where it is. To collect the keys was also very easy; the Host sent the codes on the day of arrival. I think the whole part of the building (behind the street door) is owned by the Host, so everything is organized very conveniently - like a hotel, not like an airbnb. In the apartment itself, one can find everything for a few-day stay, even an electric kettle. Maybe not that many staff for cooking. It was very quiet during our first night - no cars, no gulls, etc. I slept very good and I have issues with sleeping rather usually. On the second night, it was carnival, so no complaints :)

We stayed last minute as a result of our flight being cancelled. It was all such a smooth check in which was most welcome after having to return from the airport.
