Chalet Raufthubel

This modern high end apartment’s location is very close to the train station, we stayed six days in this one bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor with a nice Mountain View. The inside of the apartment was extremely clean and well equipped, large bedroom and bathroom. We used the coin operated building’s washer and dryer, and cooked breakfast and dinner every day. This is a very comfortable apartment for a couple or small family, highly recommended for all.

The owner contacted us immediately after booking and as check-in day was approaching gave us instructions how to find the apartment and key. Kambly Matterhorn Swiss cookies in the dining room and candy on the beds greeted us. The location was fine it is close to the Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp cable and the Hotel Eiger. The key was easy to find and the apartment was very clean with a hot shower and good flushing toilet. We found the kitchen and dining room perfect for cooking and eating for two people. The bedroom was quiet at night and the bed comfortable. The apartment is very well insulated closing the windows reduces almost all noise and we never heard neighbors. The apartment does not have a air conditioner but we were there during a heat wave in late June and even after cooking dinner the apartment did not get hot. The WiFi was very strong we had no problems connecting many devices. There is a dishwasher which was quiet and worked great. There is a laundry washer and dryer machine that are separate in the basement but we did not use it. The balcony has views of the mountains great to see in the morning and evening. Hiking trailheads are at both end of the town and in the middle. The Coop for groceries is in the middle of town. This apartment definitely made our stay in Mürren even better it was so comfortable.

The apartment bld is above/next to the town's maintenance facility they start around 6-7am M-F. When we arrived on a Monday the grassy open area across from the apartment bld was being mowed for most of the day. All the utensils were clean and new. But, we wished there were proper size beer glasses all the glasses were small (my husband's only complaint about this apartment ;>) and a pasta spoon to scoop up spaghetti noodles. The large bedroom pillows are very flat. We ended up folding it over to make it firmer. We stayed for a week and had 2 body, hand and wash towels each this was fine for us. However, I am very sure if you needed more pillows or towels they would have been provided if you let the owner know.. we were too busy.

It was new, clean and very functional for four people

The only thing I would suggest is to either make the washing machine free to use or have a card payment facility on the machine as it requires the exact coin/ change which at times late in the day is inconvenient trying to find someone in Murren with exact change

The location was great. View of Eiger and Jungfrau from the balcony. The apartment was modern, spacious, with tasteful decor and furniture. Exactly as described.

Use of the washing machine and tumble dryer should be included in the rental price. We think rubbish disposal and recycling should be the responsibility of the host not the guest.

The apartment was clean, functional, and meticulously maintained. It's only a few steps to the train station and an easy walk into the village as well. I've never stayed anywhere with such good sound insulation before, we couldn't hear guests in adjacent apartments at all. It worked very well for our family of 4 including two young children. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating with great communication.

Newer property, near the train station with absolutely breathtaking views of the Swiss alps. Met the owner and she was so sweet, asking us if we needed anything else. The chalet was clean and well maintained and very safe. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner one time while taking in the views outside. It was our home away from home for a week. I just loved this chalet and wished I could come back.

The view was superb, the (communal) washing machine was very much appreciated, and the proximity to the train station was an advantage.

Beautiful views. Peaceful location. Able to relax but also explore the surrounding area easily by train and cable car. Caring host who met up with us during our stay.

Everything was perfect ! Lovely view of the mountains, warm and cosy room and facilities was exceptionally clean. Excellent communication with our lovely host. Highly recommend this lovely chalet in gorgeous Murren.

A bath!

The location could not have been more convenient - it's about 100 yards from the train station which is perfect for schlepping one's luggage. The apartment was exceptionally clean which we appreciated very much. After a long day of hiking, we loved sitting on the balcony drinking wine and eating cheese. Perfection! Finally, the views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from our balcony were amazing!! If needed, there were coin-operated clothes washers/dryers in the building, but not in the apartment.

The apartment was very new, and very spacious. Views from the apartment and deck were incredible!

Clean and modern, and our host was very friendly and helpful. The location was very close to the BLM, a local train station. This was very convenient, and not loud like some stations can be. Easy walk to restaurants, cafés and shops.

The location was perfect and the layout was extremely functional. It was clean and comfortable. There was a fabulous view from the window and balcony.

Loved it all. Hope to return next year.

Comfortable, quiet, good location, good views, well equiped, everything needed for a 7 day stay. Having the lift available. I initially found the bed too firm but Ulrike immediately provided a mattress topper that solved the problem.

Location, view, and apartment all we're five stars. Immaculately clean with all the possible things we're available to make our stay comfortable from the beginning. Apartment location is few steps from Murren train station and view from balcony and windows we're amazing.

Everything was perfect

The apartment was in a perfect location with amazing views from the balcony. The property was modern and spotlessly clean and great value for money. The kitchen is well fitted out which allowed us to cook our own meals and thus save money on eating out. Murren is a fairy tale village with no general vehicles and overlooks the Lauterbrunnen valley from a dramatic cliff face. Something to be aware if (though not a problem for us) is that the City Taxes need to be paid separately at the local tourist bureau. We highly recommend the property and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The cogwheel railway was closed (for renovations) for the majority of time we were there meaning we had to access Murren from the Cable Car at Stechelberg. This was a unique way to get to the property with amazing views just a little crowded. The Cogwheel train has since opened again.

No doubt that this chalet was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Europe. We stayed 6 nights but wanted to stay 6 months. Clean and very well laid out apartment. Very comfortable beds, great kitchen and 1 1/2 baths with a great shower. But, the most amazing thing is the VIEW. Waking up to the Alps and cool air. Breathtaking. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Also, the location is super convenient...right near the train station.

The pillows were too soft for me specifically and for older guests like me , safety bars in the shower might be a good idea .

The chalet has great views, it is beautiful and very well designed inside. It felt very comfortable for our family of 3. The kitchen is well stocked. We met the owner, who was very kind and easy to communicate with!

There's really nothing bad to say about this place, we loved it!

The apartment was fantastic. It was very clean and the view was amazing. Many people took their first pictures from Murren, just below us. Bruno was starting work every morning with a big smile, and Ulrike was a joy to speak with.

There was no downside. Everything was more than expected.

Everything! The owner/manager was very hospitable even though we did not get to meet in person. The location was great because many outdoor activitiees were at our fingerprints plus the transportation opportunities.
