Staying at Gerry’s place was such a sweet and heartwarming experience. Gerry is one of the kindest and most lovely hosts we have ever met. She has such a gentle, warm presence, beautiful blue eyes, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The whole place is incredibly cozy and beautifully arranged. You can really feel how much care she has put into every little detail — everything is thoughtful, delicate and full of warmth. It feels less like staying in an accommodation and more like being welcomed into a very special home. Gerry even helped us with the dishes and laundry, which was far beyond anything we expected. She honestly felt like a little fairy quietly taking care of everything and making our stay easier and more comfortable. 🥹💙 I genuinely adore her and this place. I really hope many kind and lovely people get the chance to stay here, because Gerry truly deserves the nicest guests. This is such a sweet, special place, and one of the warmest memories from our trip. We would absolutely love to come back one day. ❤️

The property was beautiful, comfortable and very welcoming. I loved all the thoughtful little details, especially the fresh lilies, bread, oats, milk and yogurt. Everything was clean, well prepared and made me feel at home.

Gerry is definitely a wonder fairy. I knew it from the moment we meet. The communication was great before we arrived. Gerry had heater on for us in piercingly cold winter. The room was incredibly well prepared and has everything you would need: great selection of breakfast cereal, bread, coffee, milk and even creamer!!! We took our dogs along for the trip and they have enjoyed the place as well. The place is quiet and cozy, close to most of the places you need to be. I wish we could stay longer and we will definitely go back again next year.

This is the easiest review to write, as I have nothing but amazing things to say. Gerry is the sweetest individual who puts so much love into her hosting and it really shows. She was so generous with her time, both in conversing with us and also providing personalized Queenstown recommendations during our stay; it’s so evident that she wants her guests to feel right at home. The space is perfectly clean, comfy, and incredibly well maintained, with all sorts of thoughtful and above-and-beyond touches throughout. I really couldn’t recommend a stay at Blue Skies enough - thank you Gerry, we wish you all the best!!!

What an awesome little BNB. The little extras you get with Gerry are totally unexpected, but very welcome. It's like a full service hotel for a fraction of the price. We were particularly grateful for the ability to have our wee dog there. It's like a little home away from home, and your Mum (The BlueSkies Fairy) drops in, cleans your dishes, makes your bed and leaves you treats 😃. Highly recommended.

If I could rate this the property, and my overall experience, well, it would be a 20-out-of 10!!! All the little added touches by host Gerry, made my stay so comforting. I felt so at home, I honestly did not want to leave.The coffee, the breakfast choices, the turn-down Chocolates at night were so nice!Blue SKies will be my place of choice from now on when visiting QT.

​If I could give this stay 150 points, I would! From the moment we arrived, Gerry welcomed us with a huge, warm hug that made us feel right at home. The house is incredibly clean, and the bed and bathroom were both perfect. Gerry is a total 'fairy'—she even helped us with our laundry and dishes! We were so spoiled with chocolate cookies, yogurt, bread, and jam, plus a sweet chocolate surprise the next day. It truly felt better than being at home. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to everyone!

Good location, good price/quality ratio.

Very friendly host, but there is too much communication. I do not like to see any host every day with the same questions and reporting about my past day and my future plans. Also WiFi name and password were misleading. Each WiFi has the Name and the Password. I found only one indication on the table about it -- Wi Fi "Blue Skies". Yes WiFi that I used had the name Blue Skies, but where is the password? I guessed and tried several times to find that the password is the same, literally one word without any space "BlueSkies", not how it was mentioned with the space between the words. Also, I do not need to make up my room each day, but there is no option "Not to disturb me".

Zuallererst- Gerry ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin. Mit kleinen Details zauberte sie uns immer wieder ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Schon beim Betreten des Apartments empfing uns ein herzliches Willkommen und ein lieber Brief, in dem sie uns willkommen hiess und in jedem Fall ihr Hilfe anbot (und Kekse). Die Unterkunft ist gemütlich, hat einen Kleiderschrank, den wir immer wieder vermissen. Die kleine Terrasse lädt zum Frühstücken oder einfach nur zum Erholen zwischen den Aktivitäten ein. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohlgefühlt und sind dankbar, Gerry noch am letzten Tag persönlich kennengelernt zu haben. Der Aufenthalt wird uns in Erinnerung bleiben. Absolut empfehlenswerte Unterkunft!

A little further out of town but worth it

During our stay we loved the views, the hospitality of the host and the quiet neighbourhood. The distance from Queenstown was exactly what we were looking for with accommodation.

The property was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The location is a little bit away from Queenstown which provides a nice quiet space to reset after a busy day! Gerry is a wonderful host who is very accommodating and kind. We loved our stay at Blue Skies and were very grateful for the breakfast items provided and having our laundry done after a busy 2 weeks around the South Island. We hope to return in the future!!

Everything, it was one of the best bookings I have ever had. The accommodation and service were amazing.

The host, Gerry, was beyond amazing. I wish all people were as kind, attentive, and generous as she is. The place is cozy, private, and well-appointed with everything (and more) that you would need for a short or long stay. Plenty of space in the unit itself and the attached bathroom. The location is quiet, super clean, and very safe. Lovely neighborhood (and neighbors) and close to so many areas in which to explore.

Fußläufig in der Nähe ist ein gutes Restaurant, und Queenstown ist mit dem Auto in 10 Minuten erreicht. Wir können den Aufenthalt bei Gerry unbedingt empfehlen!

Gerry ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die sich liebevoll um alles kümmert, sogar Wäsche und Geschirr wäscht und einem alles für ein schönes Frühstück bereitstellt. Die Unterkunft war makellos und ruhig, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

I stayed at Blue Skies in Queenstown with my partner for three nights, and it was one of the warmest and most memorable stays we’ve had in New Zealand. The place is cosy, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our host was an absolutely lovely lady - friendly, caring, and genuinely thoughtful. She went above and beyond every single day, making sure we had everything we needed. She even stocked the place with essentials like bread, milk, coffee pods, and left little chocolate surprises that made our stay feel extra special. She is truly the best host I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend Blue Skies to anyone visiting Queenstown.

Gerry made us feel very welcome with her kindness. The room was amacculate with everything we needed and more. Gerry made sure we were not going hungry. Great choice of breakfast provided and some nice sweet treats. Loved the fairies that came to clean, restock and left another sweet treat on our pillows. Great location to check out Queenstown and surrounding areas.

The owner of this lovely studio accommodation, Gerry, it an absolute gem! So lovely to chat with, very helpful with whatever is needed, and many unexpected little things to make our stay fantastic. Breakfast items (assorted cereals, yogurts, milk, bread, jams…) were provided daily and sweets on the pillows each night was a fun treat. Laundry is done and dishes are cleaned by the “Blue Fairy”. What a treat that was! There is a lovely patio with mountain views for outdoor dining and morning coffee. We stayed for 9 nights and would have stayed longer if we could have! Gerry was the kindest, sweetest and most generous host we have ever had!

Gerry was an astonishing host - kind and attentive. The ability to have the dogs accompany us and the facility of a small private (fenced off garden) for them to be in was excellent. The studio was comfortable and quiet and very conveniently located for the amenities of Lower Shotover.

Quiet, cosy and exceptionally clean place. Located just far enough from Queenstown centre to avoid the constant traffic quagmire yet close enough to reach it in 10-15 min. Daily breakfast provided (toast with various spreads, cereal and oats). Guaranteed parking on the property (a true bonus in Queenstown). Gerry was an exceptional host from the moment she greeted us on our arrival till the last day we said goodbye. Every day after hard holidaying we returned to the room tidied up with beds made and little treats left on the pillows, dishes cleaned up, laundry washed and folded. By far the best host we have ever had.

That place is perfect from every perspective, by far the best option in the Queenstown area. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully and tastefully appointed, in a strategic location. We have been here already a few times, and we will definitely be back again. Actually, we planned our flights and our trip in Queenstown only after securing this place first! And let me talk about Gerry, the most lovely, delightful and kind host we ever found! She is a such a gem and we consider ourselves lucky that we got to know her. Gerry was an absolute gem. If you are reading this and considering whether you should book this accomodation - look no further and book this, you will NOT regret this. I stayed here with my husband and even though we stayed a couple of days only, Gerry made our experience absolutely awesome. From welcome Timtams, offering to wash our plates and mugs, and doing our laundry, we can't fault this place at all. The room and bathroom were perfect for us, it had everything we needed. Gerry (also known as the amazing Blue Skies Fairy) is so so lovely, she really looks after her guests and makes sure they are comfortable. We look forward to being back!

Blue Skies was an exceptional stay. Gerry was welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. It was so great to get her inside knowledge to the area and follow her suggestions on things to do. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better it was so amazing to see she the notes, tim tams and chocolates when we returned from activities each day and a clean room with the offer of doing our laundry aswell. Gerry is a fantastic host that goes out of her way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. She's quick to respond, but gives you as much privacy as you'd like, and makes sure that you return to a clean and comfortable unit each night. Best of all are the "resident dish and laundry fairies", who take care of dishes and laundry while you're away during the day - eliminating the things that I dislike the most while traveling (or at home, to be honest), so I didn't have to worry about them at all. Truly one of the best services I've encountered, and at no additional cost at all. The unit is very comfortable with everything that we needed, and the location was nice and quiet but also not far to Queenstown or Arrowtown by car.

Gerry was so lovely, and helped us with everything we could need. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and beautiful. We loved our stay at Blue Skies!

Blue Skies was lovely. It was a little haven away from the city but within east reach of both Queenstown and Arrowtown. It was immaculately clean with a comfortable bed and a fabulous shower. But the best thing was the host Gerry who was so kind and generous with her time and the food that she provided for breakfast. And the chocolate!
