It is winter and the electric blankets were really cool. Beautiful view, just a few meters from the sea! Loved the coffee machine 😍

We should have stayed more than one night to fully enjoy this exceptional apartment: it was the most idyllic, peaceful night listening to the waves. The apartment had everything we needed and we appreciated the warm, timely communication from the host.

The place was beautiful the amenities were great. The hosts were lovely and had a lot of great recommendations for activities and restaurants.

Great location overlooking the ocean, a 25m boardwalk takes you across to the beach. Parking is within the compound. Well equipped kitchen, cosy living and bedrooms. We are going back soon!

The privacy, the unit had everything we needed. The location, the quite beach, the setting, the chairs on sand dune, ease to get to the beach. The host was excellent. The wifi, coffee machine. Just everything. The electric blanket, wow.

Friendly host Francois who connected prior and during stay. Location on the beach and the view and sound of ocean extremely calming and the connect with nature. Enjoyed the privacy of the beach and benches overlooking the ocean, and early morning and evening beach walks. The apartment well-furnished and appreciated the personal touches and creativity of the walking sticks in the bathroom. Thank you Francois for thinking of all creature comforts, in the kitchen (tea, coffee, fresh milk, sugar, rusks), and electric blankets, most welcome. Centrally located and "That Greek Place" highly recommended for lunch or dinner, and the most delicious tapas. A must visit the "!Khwa ttu Nature Reserve" for a connect with the history of the San people, and the most interesting storytelling in the sound surround cinematic venues. Book a trip to Dassen Island at the harbour. Do visit the West Coast National Park; the West Coast Fossil Park and so much to learn, informative and educational.

Clean, spacious, lovely decor, well equipped, stunning view, easy access to the beach and secure parking. Francois called to let us know that we could check in early. Thank you for that. Delicious home made rusks and coffee machine. They also provided Tea, sugar, milk and coffee beans. Male sure to book more than one night -

Super Place, super Apartment, very relaxed, very easy, very nice.

Why are the beds in Western Cape so small? (And hey, Miss 7, if you cant see the sea, try to open your eyes, darling...)

Location right on beach. The braai facilities equipped with nice dry wood. Well equipped even a coffee machine. Felt safe and felt like a mini holiday. Nice big shower and it’s nice to have the place cleaned daily.

Upstairs occupants can be heard clearly when having an afternoon sleep.

Orca house faces the Atlantic Ocean, and we enjoyed the changing light at sunrise and sunset. One sunrise was particularly spectacular with a deep blue strip across the waves folding into a fuchsia strip above it.

The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The thoughtful touches made our stay even more special. The view was absolutely beautiful, with perfect sunsets every evening.

I loved the way the apartment is decorated., the super nice location directly at the beach, including a huge terrace and barbecue plus the daily cleaning service, plus the refill of the coffee machine with coffee beans, or the rusks, changing of the towels and sheets twice a week. There is everything you need in the kitchen, even laundry service is provided. Francoise and Hilmar are the most professional and helpful hosts that I know. We already rented 4 times and plan to come back.

So near the ocean. Fabulous apartment in a prime position in Yzerfontein. Ground floor with parking. Would definately return as it’s a great base for just watching the sunset, visiting the local restaurants and beautiful beach walks

Yzerfontein zelf is een groep grote villa’s, nieuwbouw en dus wat sfeerloos.

We had a wonderful stay at Orca House and couldn’t have asked for better hosts. Upon arrival, Francois welcomed us with a warm and friendly West Coast hospitality that immediately made us feel at home. As it was our first time visiting Yzerfontein, his recommendations on restaurants and places to visit were incredibly helpful and truly enhanced our experience. One of the highlights of the unit is the beautiful ocean view, which made it the perfect spot for sundowners while overlooking the ocean and enjoying the stunning West Coast sunsets. The self-catering unit was spotless, well maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The coffee machine with complimentary coffee beans was a special and thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. The cleaners were also exceptionally friendly and helpful, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Hilmar and Francois are outstanding hosts, attentive, and clearly passionate about ensuring their guests have a great stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will most definitely be back to visit Orca House again. Highly recommended!

Alle positiven Bewertungen können wir voll und ganz bestätigen. Wir verbrachten fünf Nächte hier und würden beim nächsten Mal definitiv länger bleiben. Auf Wunsch kann das Zimmer täglich gereinigt werden. Holz für den Braai ist ausreichend vorhanden. Kaffeekapseln für die Philips-Kaffeemaschine werden regelmäßig nachgefüllt. Zudem gibt es schnelles WLAN und Netflix als zusätzliche Annehmlichkeiten.

Traumhafte Lage, direkt am Meer/Strand mit eigenem Steg zu den Dünen. Die Wohnung ist top ausgestattet und man konnte direkt mit Meerblick grillen.

Ein Sonnenschirm auf der Terrasse wäre schön gewesen, da die Sonne nachmittags stark scheinen kann.

The Orca house apartment was a wonderful place for us to stay for 1 night whilst driving through South Africa. Check-in was smooth and the location on the beach front was amazing. Highly remmended.

Loved everything

The location and view was exceptional. There was safe parking on site and the hosts and staff were friendly. The unit was spacious with all the necessary utensils for self catering. Good coffee machine.

The unit had a stale smell (something between mouldy, dusty carpet and previous smoking guests). The bed needs an upgrade. The bed in any accommodation is where the rubber hits the road for any weary traveller. No view can compensate for an uncomfortable bed.

The setting was fabulous with views to die for along the beach, which you had easy access to from your room along a boardwalk. We were able to watch the sunset from the chairs on the dune and have wine on our stoep as it got dark. There is plenty of space in the unit with a comfortable lounge area, and a big table in the modern kitchenette area with a good sized fridge / freezer. Great if you are spending a few days there. A good size bedroom and a big modern bathroom. A friendly host who took time to show us around and spent time talking to us, both when we arrived and when we left. We felt very welcome ,although we arrived later than we intended. Secure off road parking is available. Easy to get to the West Coast National Park.

We couldn't find anything to complain about, but access is sloping if you have mobility problems.

The host was really kind and pleasant, and the premises was great with a dehumidifier and heater. Dehumidifier are vital to have in these conditions. A great touch was the coffee machine already filled with beans. The property is right on the beach with easy access.

I was warmly welcomed by Francois, the owner of the property. The unit had everything i needed, but what i enjoyed the most was being able to walk to the ocean and sit on a chair with a stunning sea view. The area is quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended!
