Great view, nice and cosy apartment, helpfu staff, excellent food at restaurant!
The view and the ambiance of nature is the highlight! We stayed at this house for five nights and we absolutely loved it. Anita’s fish restaurant draws in a ton of people who do wander over to take photos of the house but during our time there, only 2 guests were rude and came past the private property sign onto the side deck. The house is very comfortable. You have the basics provided in the kitchen but nothing more than salt and pepper and a tiny thing of sugar. We shopped at the grocery store in Leknes that had a great selection. You do get dishwasher tablets, soap for cleaning dishes, detergent for clothes, a roll of paper towels and toilet paper so don’t waste your money shopping for these things. Yes it’s expensive to stay here but we loved every second of it! Tip: Go to the sauna that overlooks this mountain and view, it was incredible!
The house is way too dark in the main living area and kitchen. They honestly need to figure out the lighting situation. They make enough money from renting that they could actually install lights on the ceiling to brighten up the room. No one wants to sit at the kitchen table to read in the evenings!
Fantastic location with breathtaking views from every window.
It was a dream come true
Loved it cuteness and comfort. Fabulous views. Quiet. Decor is lovely. Nespresso machine was great. Right next to Anita’s seafood bar was convenient. Lots of amazing hikes and drives nearby.
There are no curtains or blinds on most windows. The bedrooms have little sun blinds that let in all the light. At this time of the year is bright sunlight 3am -11pm and never dark! A point to note - upstairs bedroom with lovely comfy king bed has very narrow steep stairs. The downstairs bedroom is easy access / by bathroom but has the small double bed. No drama but just fyi.
Amazing stay, this house is very cozy
Absolument rien !
Very disappointing
Very disturbing location people just barge in side the property. to click a picture and no privacy, and not at all place for the peaceful holiday.
Amazing location, amazing views, and super comfortable. We loved our stay here. The host was responsive and very helpful
A lot of people coming around the house to take photos, which is understandable since it’s a famous landmark but it does take away some privacy
景色非常棒!!
The view was absolutely amazing! The property was clean and cozy. It was also nicely decorated and has everything that we need. Check-in/out instructions were clear and easy to follow. Host was responsive to messages as well.
A proper curtain for the window facing the restaurant to ensure guests’ privacy as there are always tourists taking pictures of the property.
Incredible view, exceptional really. Central location. Adorable. Clean. Comfy. Nordic. Historical. Did I mention beautiful area!! So close to hiking.
Unless you 4ft tall, the counter/sink is troll size. Tourists in hordes and we can in the off season. Tourists crossing the private rope, coming onto your private porch. Yes. We are tourists too, but there are swarms. Careful on the stairs, don’t wear slippery socks. And pull out the fan in the upper closet, the loft is like a furnace when you sleep in the summer/fall. Once we turned that on, it was bearable.
地點
房間有時候太熱,好像暖氣開太強
Bellissimo ed accogliente appartamento con una vista magnifica!
Would have been nice to have dark curtain in bedroom for midnight sun.
Anita has been the best hostess ever! She willingly shared her knowledge of local seafood and sourced great quality produce for us. The cabin is extremely cosy, and the views from the cabin are out of this world. There are three outside, secluded dining areas, so one can always sit where the temperature is best.
One should know that half the work surface in the kitchen is for very short people. The kitchen is equipped, but bring a chefs knife if you want to cook like a pro. The beds downstairs are VERY soft. Since there is daylight 24 hours a day during the summer black out curtains would have been nice.
Piękne wnętrze, piękna lokalizacja … cudny widok. Bardzo wyjątkowe miejsce, warte swojej ceny i odwiedzenia by poczuć magię Lofotów i białych nocy 😊
Drobiazgi: brak mleka do kawy i mocniejsze zasłony lub żaluzje w sypialni
The most amazing location. Beautiful cottage and decor. Cosy.
Nothing.
I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a more amazing cabin. If I return to Lofoten, I will definitely book Yellow House again. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with stunning views of Lofoten right in front of you. The interior is beautifully designed, with every detail thoughtfully arranged to make you feel at home. Truly unforgettable!
Nothing, everything amazing
This was a fantastic stay. The location is amazing, tucked in the picturesque islands of Norway. The views all around are incredible. It is a close trip to any adventures in Reine or elsewhere in the Lofoten Islands - a great basecamp for exploring or hiking the islands. The house itself is cozy, charming, and inviting. I would definitely recommend staying here.
The location is beyond compare and it is very spacious and comfortable. It has a washer AND a dryer which we’ve found is unusual to have both.
We would have liked to have a microwave to reheat items. There also could be a window shade over the door and the sink to hide the view into the cabin from the prying eyes of the billiards of tourists who stop at the property to get their social media pictures from morning till night. If the northern lights appear be forewarned that people will descend on this property to get their photos as well and can be noisy in the middle of the night.
Innovative design that embed itself into the beautiful scenery.

Beautiful scenery. Cozy apartment ! Location is great , just beside the restaurant.
The bed on the first floor is very soft .
The cabin is so warm and cosy and the view is incredible! We loved our stay here.
Very nice hut with all the necessary facilities needed. Kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils needed, very good washer and dryer, bed were comfy and the host is very responsive.
The stairs to the top floor.
Location was amazing. Beautiful view
Everything was great
The location was perfect for visiting the area. Beautiful setting and very comfortable accommodation.
No complaints
Very special and worth to stay there
The setting, convenience, cleanliness and the house itself were all perfect. We thought with it right on the road (that wasn't apparent in the picture - it appeared remote) we would be disappointed, but we were thrilled with it when we arrived.

View
Steep staircase, quite warm in summer, loud playground right next door
Location/view
Parking lot was always crowded with many photographers
The location and house is beautiful
- The day we left, workmen next door in warehouse were burning wast for a few hours. And everything is so clean on the Lofoten. How is this possible. The lovely house was covered in smoke. - We did not see the owners on our stay.
The view was exceptional The cabin is well equipped
Nothing much
Homey feel Perfect stay
Location and environment
Excellent location and beautiful decoration. The front of Olstind cabin has not only beautiful views of the mountains at the day but also beautiful northern lights at the night.
This is a very homey place with everything you need. The view and location is second to none.
Ultra-cozy Rorbu for long winter nights (compared with photos, two super-comfortable armchairs have been added to the sofa). Additional equipment has been added in response to previous reviews (toaster, etc.). Exceptional view and location for this iconic rorbu, the downside being the parade of photographers on either side of the house, but nothing too distracting. Convenient self-contained arrival (the ferries from Bodø were cancelled for a whole day due to the storm, but we were able to catch the ferry at 1:00 a.m., and thanks to the keybox arrive at 4:45 a.m. in the rorbu, saving us a day). Very efficient heating, especially underfloor (except in the downstairs bedroom). Very comfortable bedding. We didn't see Anita or Mia, but the latter was very responsive in answering various practical questions before our arrival. In short, an idyllic stay!
The downstairs bedroom was rather cold, so we preferred to sleep in the one under the roof. Stove not allowed. Weak soundproofing with the small apartment occupying the rear of the rorbu (from the bedroom we could hear the occupants talking and moving around). But these are minor inconveniences.
Olstind is my dream house, everything is perfect and the view from the window is fantastic! That's unforgettable memories for my family. Thanks for everything.
The location is absolutely breathtaking. The cabin was stunning and comfortable.
Super amazing cabin! Clean and have everything! Great location with the best view!
Wifi connection bit slow
The view from the window was amazing!!!! I loved the character of the hut. It was perfect
Nothing
Fantastic view and very good location! Apartment was very spacious. Kitchen and bathroom was provided with everything necessary for longer stay (including olive oil which is seldom available in apartments). In the bathroom there were also a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Next to the apartment it was seefood shop and restaurant. We enjoyed very much burgers, fish soup and almond cake as well as fresh halibut we cooked ourselves.
Darkening curtains were missing
the view, the view, the view- it was extraordinary!
the bedroom was very small with nowhere to put any of your clothing
beautiful location and surroundings.
could do with black out curtains or blinds in bedroom
Location: million dollar view and just in front of the bus stop. Very comfy, all necessary stuff is provided: towels, blankets, paper, salt, soap, washing machine and dryer, etc. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Just beside the Anita's seafood: small market where some food goods can be bought. Friendly and kind staff. Tasty fish burger.
Shame that chimney couldn't be used. Tv in English cant be used (only bbc) and youtube is not working. No guard robe. But these are only small meaningless details. Attention: Supermarket is at 15 minuts walking distance only but closes on Friday at 18h and it opens again on Monday.
Location is spectacular.
The power breaker kept tripping. We didn’t have lights on so not sure why that kept happening. The lights outside the windows couldn’t shut f so when the northern lights appeared we couldn’t see them through the windows which was quite disappointing. Also, the neighbors parked so we couln t get out, especially when we got snow. Recommend taking a small part of that fence out as we almost hit it,
Great location with easy access to photography spots. Beautiful view from the cabin. We bought salmon filets and cooked in the kitchen while we were there.
We had a slight issue with the power not working in the back half of the cabin, and did not see a number anywhere to call. It didn’t matter much to us; they provided candles, and it was perfectly fine for one night.
The location was perfect and the view is absolutely as described. it’s located right next to a lunch restaurant and only minutes away from a nice dinner restaurant as well as gas, a Circle K, and a little coffee shop. The set up is very good and it’s very clean.
The only thing to be aware of which I discovered early on so it wasn’t a hindrance was that the electricity is quirky and one of the circuits trips off every so often. All you need to do is go in the box and pop it up if it seems the electricity isn’t working.

The power breaker for the main bed room & wash room auto turn off frequently.
- It is very nice view of mountain and lake. - There is only one cabin in this area so it is very private. The balcony and the view are for cabin guests only. - Cabin is decorated nicely and very comfy. We are so happy to sit on the sofa and take a view. - Kitchen equipment and all dishes/glasses are very clean.
Have only 2 pots and no pan
This house exceeded all of my expectations and the views from the property are absolutely mind bending. The kitchen/living/dining room is so comfortably and cozy and not only has the best views ever but is just a perfect place to relax and unwind. Laundry in the bathroom was a great bonus. If you are looking for the most picturesque cabin in the perfect location, look no further. The host was very easy to connect with and responsive when I did have a questions as well.
The cottage was very cozy and the view was amazing.
Great location. Beautiful surroundings. Inside as pictured. Has washer dryer.
No curtains in living room. We stayed during 24 hour day light and had to constantly move our chairs during dinner due to the sun shining on our faces. Also there is a security camera inside living room which we did not expect.
Quite possibly the nicest coziest place with one of the best landscape views in the world! Could walk out our front door and watch the northern lights three nights in a row in early September! Sat on the deck and had breakfast looking out on the towering peaks across the bay was something that I will remember for as long as I possibly can. Just an amazing place. Whenever we had questions the hosts Anita and Mia were super quick to respond. Would be such a cool place to ride out a winter storm in - so comfortable.
I wish the place had a toaster as we bought bread in town but couldn't heat it up each morning. Roped off parking lot is small and requires a tight maneuver to get into. These are two nit picky things.
View of the fjord and the mountains, liveliness of the area, the coziness and charming details of the property. Flowers, candles, coffee capsules. Nice plates, cups and glasses. Warm cables in the floor everywhere. Great inner temperature.
The sink in the bathroom and the toilet had some problems with drainage. But not too bad. It worked.
I called 8 times to ask where to check in and no one helped me. The staff at the restaurant was terrible, I asked where to check in because I had a dog and the first sentence only said no dogs allowed.
Location of the best in Lofoten! Stunningly beautiful view from the room and around the house! Washer and dryer available! Beautiful shower room!
Very very very soft bed! It will be quite difficult for people who are used to sleeping on good orthopedic mattresses to adapt to such softness of the bed! Lack of sofas and the ability to lie down in the cabin. Not very convenient parking.
