Remote and on a beautiful farm with an incredible garden

The place was clean and peaceful

Just my room had a toilet that was down stairs… so that was the boring part the up and down going to the toilet

The place was clean and the area was tranquil. Host was very welcoming. The staff are very pleasant.

The road to get to the place is gravel and you must have a 4 x 4

The accommodation was excellent. We loved the old world charm and quiet farm atmosphere and lovely views. The breakfast was good but can do with some more variety. The roads getting there are a bit of a challenge and has to be driven with caution and at slower speeds.

Sheer opulence. If you feel like spoiling yourself, this is the place. Splendid views, sprawling gardens and the freshest of air. Don't turn down the breakfast.

Wow....what an amazing stay. True to every picture seen. The hosts, room, garden , peace and quiet and the delicious breakfast. We will be back for sure. We absolutely loved it❤️

Our stay at Thyme Out Weltevreden Farm was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine hospitality. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and made us feel right at home. The apartment was beautifully presented, spotless and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Every detail had been carefully considered, making it feel like a true home away from home. The peaceful surroundings and beautiful views made it the perfect place to relax and celebrate our anniversary. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Absolutely nothing. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing.

Beautiful place with lovely views. Micky and team were very accommodating as we attended a wedding that evening and only arrived back after 11pm. Breakfast was lovely and again, Micky and Vicky were super helpful and cheerful.

I'm not a person who like stairs but i knew about them before booking so even though i dont like them but it was okay.

We had no breakfast. Location is s little further then I had thought from Abingdon and Fordoun as lift was not available.

Being a Friday I would have thought that the lawn could have been cut and edges trimmed etc. first impressions are extremely important.

We requested an early morning cold breakfast at late notice and it was much appreciated that the owners could accommodate this request.

It is an amazing place to stay, the farm is beautiful and the room was amazing. Overall an awesome experience.

I would have liked a queen size bed instead of the two single beds in the main room. This did not take anything away from the experience though.

It was a beautiful setting. Loved the sherry and the nougat on the beds - thank you! The breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly.

The location was a little far on dirt roads, which was the downside. I think it seemed even worse because the directions were not clear and we missed the turn off, so ended up going way further on the dirt than we needed too. The bed seemed to dip to the middle. And the winter duvet was just way too heavy. The gas heater didn't work.

The house is wonderful, nice views and we enjoyed a huge breakfast - well worth it!

The views and hosts were nice to be honest. If you are booking the suites, it will be a 10/10.

Don’t book the comfort king if you are trying to have some privacy and seat in. It’s a room inside the house with the family. It’s like being a visitor with them. The little ones were restless and a bit fussy, you are woken up by that noise😭😭😭. I won’t lie, it dampened my excitement about the place. My advice, book the suites. They have separate entrances and you get to really be on holiday. It just felt like we asked a friend to sleepover at their house. No mini bar fridge in the room.

Only minor issue was that the rooms are not sound proof at all. Fortunately other the guests were relatively quiet.

Breakfast was excellent and served timeously every day. The accommodation arranged shuttles for us for the weekend functions we had to attend which was very helpful. The rooms were serviced when we were out so as not to inconvenience us, which I appreciated.

The lock on our room door was very tricky to open. The directions were a little bit tricky as they said not to follow the GPS location, however ours was accurate and we did a 40 minute detour.

Stunning garden in picturesque setting, peaceful and quiet. Quaint, clean well appointed unit.

The steps in our unit were definitely not suited for elderly or those with a mobility challenge (the stairs are uneven, so even if you’re able bodied, take care).

View was great.

Checking in they lost our booking, no clear process but they did manage to sort us out. Cutlery could be updated as there were some things missing

Excellent location. Serene surroundings makes for a perfect get away. Unit was well serviced.

We booked an Easter Vacay for our parents to spend quality time with our toddler, and we were simply amazed by the breathtaking views and the kindness of the owners and staff at the Manor. Nicky messaged me the moment my booking was done and provided detailed directions to get to the location from both JHB and DBN as we were travelling from 2 different locations as well as the weather forecast for our stay. We booked the family room and the black king room, and both rooms were immaculate with shiny floors, fresh white linen and a beautiful aroma in the air. The rooms and bathrooms are very modern and clean. We were greeted by Nicky and her warm smile, gorgeous 4 legged fur babies who were so calm and gentle with our little boy. The garden is amazing, the property has stunning views and is VERY well kept. The owner, Aunt Ingrid, is so sweet and precious, God bless her kind heart. We braai'd on the first night, they have a weber which we used. On the 2nd afternoon we cooked a delicious Durban Curry on the fire. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and prepared with love. They also allowed us to cut fresh lemon and lime off the trees to take home. We set up an Easter Egg Trail in the garden for our little boy, which he absolutely adored. Our entire family enjoyed our trip and we highly recommend this property and hosts. If you're looking for luxurious Midlands getaway at an affordable price, this is your go to place!!

Loved the stay, wouldn’t say there was anything that we didn’t like.

The accommodation was beautiful and the views were stunning. My kids loved the friendly dogs running around and they enjoyed playing with them. They have sheep om the property and my little daughter loved watching them.

It was a bit far from the main road and the cars got really muddy because of the recent rain and quite a bit of driving involved not on tar roads.

It’s quite difficult to get to. If you’re in a small car, it can be quite the strain (especially the gravel roads). Also, we were in a self catering apartment, with the hopes of buying supplies in the area. The nearest shops are about 25 km away, quite inconvenient.

Very peaceful great breakfast

Shower jumps from hot to cold very happy it was summer must be frustrating on a cold day. Catering was not clear if you staying upstairs in the middle of nowhere you have no fridge warming facilities etc therefore if you are unprepared you have no dinner as we experienced on day 1 🙈 Only some rooms have catering facilities so do your homework

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 days at Weltevreden Farm. Our room was extremely clean, spacious, and well equipped with everything we could possibly need, and it was serviced daily. The view was exceptional – rolling hills dotted with sheep and cows made for a truly peaceful stay. We highly recommend Thyme Out at Weltevreden Farm; it is genuinely one of the best places we have stayed.

Love this venue! Didn’t realize how spacious the rooms would be - we would have shared if we knew haha!

The breakfast was very disappointing. It was so small. 1 slice of bread each. We had to ask for more. 1 piece of bacon cut in 2. Literally 1 teaspoon of mushroom.

No kitchen sink in our kitchen area. We had to use the bathroom basin or main kitchen. This was an inconvenience.

The breakfast was very good. The manor itself and the surrounding gardens are absolutely stunning and the lady who welcomed us and looked after us was wonderful.

I think it needs to be mentioned that the bedrooms are in a loft as we weren't expecting that especially with the bathroom downstairs. The loft balustrading was not very safe and a portion was missing right alongside the bed which made me feel uncomfortable. The bathroom was lovely but had a connecting door to the kitchen as we could hear the staff talking, the clattering of plates etc and smell the bacon cooking. We also weren't expecting such a long extent of gravel road which in some areas was quite bad especially as we were in a car and not a bakkie so it was slow going.

Absolut tolle Lage, der Garten ein Traum! Das Apartment wirklich sehr schön gestaltet und absolut sauber! Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir haben unsere Tage hier sehr genossen, nur zu empfehlen!
