Location was great. Facilities and grounds were very clean. Staff was friendly and vefy helpful. Pool was well maintained.

We loved relaxing by the pool with breathtaking views of the vineyards and mountains. The location is excellent—close to Peso da Régua, yet far enough to enjoy a very quiet and private atmosphere, which was respected by all guests. Andre provided exceptional service! he was super attentive, made sure we felt completely comfortable, and gave us a great viewpoint recommendation. The Quinta winery tour and generous wine tastings were also a major highlight. Highly recommended for a romantic couple's trip!

Outstanding property located within the vineyards less than 5mins from town - easy and close by to go into town for dinner, yet private and secluded to relax peacefully. Andre was a super responsive host, always willing to help with bookings of restaurants, excursions, etc. and was a great help guiding us to the right restaurants, boat trips, etc.

My husband and I just came back from our 2 week trip to Portugal and our stay at Quinta da Casa Amarela in the Douro Valley was a highlight! The day manager on site, Andre, was incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful. We also met the owner, Gil, briefly when we accidentally pulled up to his house instead of the hotel (whoops!) and he was so nice and welcoming. We unfortunately didn't get to do a tasting with him, but we were able to purchase one of their delicious wines during our stay (and were even gifted a bottle on our way out!). The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and in a central location, a very quick drive to a few of the larger cities in Douro, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The pool was also very nice in the evening after the long, hot days of exploring and tasting wine. We absolutely loved our stay and only wish we had a few more days to continue to unwind there. We will be back!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location and ample parking. Room was large and comfortable. Especially loved the wine tasting with Mr Gil, who is a gem!

Breakfast was nice but could have a bit more variety :) Only one day I was offered eggs. Would be nice to have the room vacuumed and fresh towels every day

Leider muss man immer fahren, wenn man z.B. ins Restaurant möchte. Dafür hat man aber abends eine wunderbare Ruhe und einen tollen Blick auf den Sternenhimmel.

La Quinta da Casa Amarela est un véritable havre de paix. Au milieu des vignes, une vue incroyable, un calme magnifique. L'accueil et la gentillesse d'André sont incroyables. Toujours de bons conseils, il a rendu ce séjour parfait. Il nous a permis de faire la visite du vignoble avec le propriétaire, un instant magique. Sans oublier les petits déjeuners d'Anna qui sont délicieux. Un grand merci à vous deux pour ce séjour dans la vallée du Douro, inoubliable. Très bonne continuation. Nous ne manquerons pas de revenir.

Peaceful and very welcoming

We were looking for a romantic stay and got exactly that. It’s a very small boutique hotel and the staff is at your disposal for anything. Jose helped us with restaurant bookings, which are needed. And they all turned out great! We had a lovely wine tasting with the owner Gill and learned so much about the story of Casa Amarela, a unique and private experience!

Initial conversations were a bit difficult when they had lost my email with questions.

A beautiful respite in the middle of our Portugal adventure! Lovely people, outstanding property and just an all around amazing place to stay. We were also fortunate to get a tour and tasting with the owner, Gil. The breakfast and table was beautiful and delicious!!

Wonderful, quiet location in the Douro valley. Great views over the country side. Andre, our host, was superb, very thoughtful, helpful and kind. The swimming pool was fabulous and the accommodation very comfortable. We had an amazing wine tasting and tour of the property with Gil the owner.

The wifi did not reach our room at the end of the hall but was readily available in other parts of the house.

We loved our stay in Casa da Amarela. Andre and Ana was so friendly and welcoming and we immediately felt like we're in our own house afar from home. Andre was available and happy to give recommendations on where to go and what to see (unfortunately some of the roads were blocked due to a bike race so we needed to change and adapt a long the day). Overall we enjoyed our stay

we couldn't find a time that fits for a wine tasting and we felt it's a big miss (Andre was alone during our stay and needed to be available for check ins). As the stay is expensive we think it'll be nice if a glass of wine will be free of charge when we back home at night (there was a menu for self service with prices at the kitchen). It was rainy and cloudy during our stay so the pool wss off limit for us so unfortunately I can't recommend on that.

In a beautiful location, wonderful views down the valley, really peaceful. It is so nice being a small hotel with only 5 rooms. Exceptionally high standard of decor & cleanliness. Andre could not do enough to help us. Even prior to check-in his communication was excellent, upon arrival we had a little tour of the property and a taste of the port wine produced here. Both nights he made our dinner reservations for us and chose outstanding restaurants nearby. His local knowledge is excellent. We had a 1-1 wine tour/tasting at their vineyard which was fabulous and so special to get a look ‘behind the scenes’ at a small wine producer. The wine is delicious. Breakfasts were very fresh and good quality. Access to water, tea, coffee and pastel de natas every day too! Would absolutely stay here again!

You need a car, but not really a negative as we would expect this anyway.

Laura, Gil and Andre were amazing hosts and made us feel at home. The location is spectacular and we were very pleased with our choice. Spending time with Gil and Laura to learn more about the history of their property and tasting the Casa Amarela wines and ports made this experience stand out. Hope to return!

Beautiful property, great location, lovely staff

We had a wonderful time at Casa Amarela. Andre was so helpful, going out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and that all our needs were metto. He took time to reserve tables at fabulous restaurants for dinner. We would never have found these restaurants on our own. The breakfast was lovely each morning. It felt like we were in our own lovely comfortable home. Gil, owner of the winter gave us a fabulous tour of his winery with great insight into the way they make wine using traditional methods. A place I highly recommend to stay.

This is the most beautiful property. The staff are wonderful. The owners are warmhearted people passionate and knowledgeable about the Douro Valley and the region’s wines and port. The swimming pool was delightful, the accommodation is luxurious, the food was very good too.

Breakfast was incredible. Andres gave me suggestions on what I could see, and then gave me quick itineraries and reservations to help me plan what I wanted to do. Exceptionally responsive along the way using What's App. Beautiful location.

Our stay was above and beyond! The property is stunning in person- the rooms are very large, bathrooms are large and modern (rainfall shower), the pool is the standout feature of the property with incredible views. The staff was also so helpful, offering ideas and recommendations for every part of our stay. The breakfast was also very good (eggs, pastries, fruit, cakes, etc.). The wine here is also incredible- they gifted us a free glass on arrival and even comped a whole bottle, which was just the cherry on top!

Great view, convenient location with a short drive from the places we wanted to go while in the region. Staff was great at arranging dinner reservations in great restaurants in the region. The swimming pool was very nice to wind down at the end of the day. Breakfast was very good too.

Wonderful property and highly recommended. Beautiful decor, comfortable rooms and the best swimming pool! The property manager Andre was exceptionally helpful with everything we needed. We had a delightful wine tasting with the owner and the wines were the best we tried in the region (the Vivaldi music playing in the cellars must really work!).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Quinta de Casa Amarela in the Douro Valley, Portugal, and it was an absolute delight. It was a cozy clean home in a beautiful area with a lovely pool and kind staff. Breakfasts were good.

It didn't seem such a great value (it was the most expensive place we stayed on our 3-week trip in Portugal), but it was lovely, and I do recommend it! Perhaps if we were staying here longer, it would have been worth the cost. We were out and about every day after breakfast. Other than one luxurious hour lazing by the pool and enjoying the view. Are you coming here to rest? Write a novel? coming with other couples? (There are 3 other rooms!). If so, it would be money well spent.

The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Beds and room were very comfortable.

Absolutely beautiful property with amazing views, a lovely pool and incredible staff. André specifically was so helpful, he booked everything for us, including tours, taxis and dinner. It was also really convenient having the winery tour so close

This isn’t a criticism of the property but I do recommend having a car. We relied on taxis and it can be frustrating finding a cab from certain areas - plus Pinhão is half an hour away so it can get expensive if you’re going for a boat ride.

Beautiful small Portuguese Quinta that underwent a full renovation a few years ago. Architecture is traditional on the outside and a mixture of tasteful modern and traditional decor inside. Rooms were well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. All modern amenities. Hearty breakfast was delicious, plentiful and included with room fare. The grounds/vineyards/gardens were beautiful and the pool was refreshing. There were stunning vistas of the Douro valley from our room, the patios and the pool. There was parking on the premises. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The property manager, Andre, was wonderful and also doubled as concierge booking restaurants and activities as needed. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

A little hard to find initially due to confusing sign, but friendly neighbors gave us directions and called Andre who was waiting outside for us when we arrived.

No negatives. There's no restaurant apart from breakfast, but town is ten mins away in car or cab.

The breakfast was wonderful - a lovely spread of food even though we were the only guests that night. Andre was such a wonderful host - helped us from the minute we arrived and made us feel at home. He made reservations at a great restaurant in Regua. We felt very immersed in the culture of the wine region - beautiful room and grounds with peaceful location and pretty view. Would return!
