Reviewed Aug 27, 2026Amazing stay from start to finish! Larry was an outstanding host — welcoming, helpful, and full of great local tips. The house is spotless, cozy, and the location in Obertraun is perfect for exploring Hallstatt and Dachstein. The views of the mountains are breathtaking. We felt at home from the first minute.
Honestly, nothing. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Reviewed Jun 5, 2026Haus Happy is a real little gem. Every corner of the house is welcoming and charming, just like Larry, the owner. He gives personal attention to every guest, enjoys chatting, and is always happy to recommend places to visit and things to do in the area. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The location is excellent, with beautiful views of the mountains, and from the terrace you can even catch a glimpse of the lake. It is a perfect base for exploring Hallstatt, Gosau, the Dachstein region, and the Narzissenfest. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with fresh warm pastries, jam, cake, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, cheese, and cold cuts. Everything was fresh and prepared with care. The village is peaceful and quiet, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. If you do not speak English very well, there is no need to worry. Larry always finds a way to communicate and make sure you understand each other. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return in the future. We highly recommend Haus Happy to anyone who would like to discover the beauty of the Salzkammergut region. 😊🏔️🌼💙

Reviewed May 25, 2026Das Haus ist gut gelegen, nah an der Straße, Bushaltestelle und Bahnhof. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer sind sauber und nett eingerichtet. Unsere waren im Obergeschoss mit Dachschräge. Vom kleinen Balkon hatte man einen schönen Blick auf die Berge. Frühstück war gut.

Reviewed May 19, 2026Sehr freundliche und hilfreiche Gastgeber, sowohl auf Englisch als auch Deutsch. Die Zimmer und das ganze Haus sind gemütlich&warm eingerichtet, mit gemütlichem Bett. Schöne Aussicht und ruhiger Ort. Frisches und leckeres Frühstück, jederzeit Zugang zu Tee&Kaffee.
Dusche brauchte lange um warm zu werden, was aber kein größeres Problem war! Beachten, dass die Touristensteuer nur bar bezahlt werden kann. In Obertraun gibt es sonst nicht viel zu tun, aber die Unterkunft ist wenige Fußminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt mit recht guten Verbindungen.

Πολύ ευγενικός και χαμογελαστός και πάντα πρόθυμος να βοηθήσει σε οτιδήποτε χρειαζόμασταν. Προτείνουμε το HAUS HEPI ανεπιφύλακτα και χωρίς κανένα δισταγμό! Η καλύτερη επιλογή!

Zudem war das Frühstück wirklich sehr lecker. Parkmöglichkeiten direkt vor der Unterkunft auch gegeben. Das Gasthaus ist perfekt für Paare. Es ist angenehm ruhig.

Das Zimmer war ordentlich, makellos sauber und sehr gemütlich. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet — abwechslungsreich, frisch und wirklich lecker, der perfekte Start in den Tag. Ich kann diesen Ort wärmstens allen empfehlen, die einen angenehmen und erholsamen Aufenthalt suchen!

Our hosts were so so nice, they speak perfectly English, they arranged an amazing breakfast for us. The room was perfect, we also had access to public areas, like the living room, that has a great mountain view. I would go back there again and again.

The breakfast was lovely and filled us each morning before our adventures. Larry was a gracious host: he was friendly, knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our chats with him. I enjoyed talking with Larry, and I could tell he is passionate about providing a safe and comfortable experience for his guests. The included breakfast was perfect: delicious and healthy! Haus Hepi is comfortable, charming, and clean. I would definitely visit again.

지붕이 비스듬히 기울어진 방이 싫어서 일부러 반듯한 방을 골라서 예약을 했는데 실제로 가보니 머리가 부딪힐 것 같고 좁고 답답해서 예약을 한 방을 해달라고 했는데 안된다고 정 싫으면 환불해 준다고 하는데 얼마를 해줄지도 모르고 다른 숙소를 갑자기 찾기도 귀찮아서 그냥 3일을 묵었는데 다시는 가고싶지 않은 곳 입니다 그나마 남자 주인이 좀 친절한 분이라서 다행입니다

Reviewed Aug 18, 2025Ein wirklich wunderbares Hotel! Sehr familiär geführt, alles ist sauber und gepflegt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Die Lage ist perfekt für Wanderungen in der Natur und zum Schwimmen im nahegelegenen See. Wer Ruhe und eine erholsame Auszeit sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Sehr empfehlenswert!
