Reviewed Aug 13, 2026Location is strategically close to the pier and yet within walking distance of the local market. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, even organised a half day tour for us at a competitive price as we needed to ride to Ruteng in the afternoon. The tour turned out to be one of the most memorable of our whole trip!
The door handle to the bathroom was broken, no big deal for the 3 of us but someone might want find it irksome. Otherwise everything was in good order.

The place is in desperate need of maintenance. The owner assigned us room no 13 and 1 in what seemed the older parting the hotel. Room 13 smelled terrible (mold?!) and the bed was very uncomfortable. Room 1 was disgusting. The bathroom door was a “Cars” blanket, the mosquito nets are “yellowish” at they are old and dirty and even a large dead cockroach was stuck in it for a long time. The toilet was brown and the shower seemed full of limescale and mold. After complaining we were offered room no 2 and 7. Room no 2 was slightly better, meaning we dared to use the bathroom. The walls and bathroom door were still disgusting (green wall picture and doorhandle picture) We didn’t use room 7 as the distance between the rooms was rooming for us, staying over with 2 kids. We kept room no 1 and decided not to use the bathroom in this room. That same night other people were offered room no 13 was offered to other tourists, clearly showing the owner didn’t care about the complaints at all.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Mentos nous a très très bien accueilli dans ses bungalows. Il a tout organisé pour nous pour nos sorties bateaux et a toujours été aux petits soins ! Il est d'une très grande et belle générosité. Et que dire des pancakes du matin, un régal !

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Ich habe hier übernachtet und hatte eine wirklich tolle Zeit! Die Zimmer sind super sauber und gemütlich. Ein ganz besonderes Highlight ist der Gastgeber Mentos: Er ist überaus zuvorkommend, herzlich und kümmert sich fantastisch um seine Gäste. Er hilft bei allen Fragen weiter und kann auch die Bootstouren (z. B. zum 17 Islands Nationalpark) direkt vor Ort unkompliziert organisieren. Es hat mir hier wirklich sehr, sehr gut gefallen und ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Danke für die tolle Gastfreundschaft!

Ce serait appréciable d'avoir une bouilloire dans les chambres pour faire chauffer son eau et la mélanger au bac d'eau froide pour prendre une douche tiède. Très bon emplacement pas loin du port et des restaurants. Environnement très calme. Les clims marchent très bien dans les chambres.
oui, il y a beaucoup de moustiques et il faut vraiment mettre et remettre de l'anti-moustique. On a entendu dire que dans les environs, des chambres avaient été visitées la nuit par des gens extérieurs qui cherchent le cash. Il suffit de bien fermer sa porte à clef en permanence. Comme partout du reste !

On n’avait presque pas de pression dans notre douche mais il semblait que c’était un problème qui touchait que notre chambre Les moustiques présents en nombre dans la salle de bain car malheureusement elle est ouverte sur l’extérieur au niveau de la toiture, mais c’est la nature ! La petite couverture n’est pas adaptée si on est deux adultes car trop courte, je pense qu’un drap serait plus adapté

Reviewed May 6, 2026The little patio outside the bungalow was nice to sit, the bed was comfy, the included breakfast was great and the staff are very warm and helpful.
The door to the bathroom didn’t shut completely which meant mosquitoes were able to enter and the air con wasn’t able to run sustainably. Would also be great to have a pathway to the bungalow as the recent rain made the grass wet and muddy so my feet brought dirt into the room each time I entered. Also, be prepared for some ants and bugs joining you though this is just what happens when staying within nature.

The only thing was that the shower was cold and not really good pressure.. But because of the warm temperatures over there it not a problem at all!

Reviewed Jan 1, 2026Da ich das hier auf Deutsch schreibe: absoluter Knaller, was das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis angeht Die Bungalows sind sauber und haben Klimaanlagen (bei den Temperaturen ein wahrer Segen) WLAN gibt es im Essbereich - ausreichend um auch mal einen Film zu schauen Mentos selbst ist ein super lieber und hilfsbereiter Kerl, lebt mit seiner Familie auf demselben Gelände. Wir durften ohne Zögern ihre Küche benutzen als wir mal keine Lust hatten Essen zu gehen. Das Frühstück ist wirklich gut - viel obst und sehr gute Pancakes und wir könnten auch unsere Wäsche dort waschen lassen (50K für eine schätzungsweise 3-4kg ladung)

Camera un po' buia. una luce un po' più potente non guasterebbe. una sola presa di corrente in tutta la camera.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2025Amazing stay here as we did a camping trip overnight in the islands. This host was very kind and the breakfast was such an amazing spread of fresh and delicious fruit. Best breakfast we had in 5 weeks. Bed was comfortable and room was nice!
Would have been nice to have a few board games or the ability to buy beer on premises as it would have made more of a communal aspect. Bad mosquitoes so could do with some burning spirals.

Since there are practically no accommodations in this town that would meet the tastes and expectations of Western guests, it is difficult to write an honest review, as it feels like criticizing one of the few available options. Unfortunately, the truth is that the place is really neglected and that at least some effort could have been made regarding functionality and hygiene. One might try to justify it with authenticity, but the accommodation is simply neglected, without any attempt at even minimal repairs or improvements.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2025Der Aufenthalt bei Mentos im kleinen Dorf Riung direkt am 17 Island Marine Park hat uns richtig gut gefallen. Mentos ist ein herausragender Gastgeber, der immer ansprechbar ist, Tipps gibt und eine herzliche Atmosphäre schafft. Er organisiert die Bootstouren oder Scooter zum Ausleihen und – in unserem Fall – sogar ein Auto mit Fahrer zur Weiterreise. Insgesamt alles sehr entspannt (indonesisch: santai – entspannt, locker, gelassen). Wir sind vier Nächte geblieben, da wir nach vielen kurvigen Autofahrten quer durch Flores einen Ruhepol gesucht hatten. Das hat perfekt gepasst. Die Bootstouren zum Marine Park sind standardisiert. Kleine Ausflüge in die Nachbardörfer oder einem View Point entlang der Küsten in beide Richtungen hatten uns viel Spaß gemacht. Die Bungalows sind einfach, haben eine Klimaanlage und eine kleine Veranda mit Sitzgelegenheit und Wäscheleine vornedran. Im Dorf gibt es drei kleine Restaurants, Pato Resto mit Live Musik, Cafe del Mar (sehr leckere Küche, wie die anderen auch sehr günstig), und Café Rico (direkt am Steg, wo die Boote starten). Mentos selbst bietet außer dem guten Frühstück sowie Cafe und Tee kein eigenes Essen an. Sein Team hat uns aber unsere Tütensuppe warm gemacht, als an einem Abend der Strom im ganzen Dorf ausgefallen war. Wir sind sehr dankbar für diesen besonderen Aufenthalt auf Flores, am anderen Ende der Welt!

Pas d'eau au lavabo, pas de drap (seulement un drap housse+ petite couverture), chasse d'eau qui fuit par terre + odeur, porte salle de bain ne ferme pas, distributeur savon cassé, communication en amont très compliquée pour le tour en bateau (compréhension de l'anglais?)

Reviewed Aug 23, 2025En premier lieu, Mentos le propriétaire est l'une des personnes les plus adorable que l'on ait rencontré en 3 semaines, il parle très bien anglais, s'intéresse à ses clients et à leur bien être. Les espaces extérieurs sont agréable. La chambre est équipée de moustiquaire et clim qui sont efficaces. Nous avons aimé Riung, c'est petit mais très relax, tout est à proximité (épicerie, resto...) Le snorkeling aux 17 iles est magnifique, on a trouvé les coraux plus beaux qu'aux Komodo.
Notre lit était vraiment bruyant et ce serait pratique d'avoir une petite étagère ou autre pour poser gel douche, brosse à dent... mais ca ne nous a pas gêné.

E' possibile organizzare il giro in barca direttamente con il proprietario, tutto è stato perfetto, vicino ci sono ottimi ristoranti., Riung è davvero poco turistica ma proprio per questo autentica, a me è piaciuta davvero molto e sicuramente questa guest house è uno dei migliori posti dove soggiornare, spero di ritornarci un giorno

Reviewed Aug 12, 2025Todo fantástico, Mentos me organizó la salida a ver las 17 islas por un buen precio dado que viajaba sólo. La habitación muy cómoda y limpia, el desayuno muy bueno y variado. Totalmente recomendable. También me gestionó el viaje de vuelta a Bajawa en un transporte local. Todo de 10.
