Reviewed Sep 13, 2026Beautiful garden and a quiet peaceful place in a very friendly village. The owner Paul, his wife Maria and his uncle Leo make every effort to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They organised a really good trip to 17 Islands National Park which was a highlight of our trip through Flores. Riung is recovering from an earthquake in August and many restaurants are closed because of a lack of tourists so Leo cooked delicious and well priced meals for us. Tourism is helping Flores after the Earthquake and transport and tourism facilities are mostly back to normal so don’t stay away.

Le propriétaire est toujours prêt à vous aider (comme tous les habitants de Riung), les chambres sont confortables, avec climatisation et un charmant jardin. J’ai passé un super séjour et n’hésitez pas à venir à Riung, ils ont besoin de soutien aprés le tremblement de terre !

Les logements sur Flores sont très simples mais celui-ci était vraiment soigné et en toute simplicité. Proche d'une supérette et de bons restaurants. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir chez Paul.

Pas d’eau chaude, très peu d’échanges avec les hôtes comparé à tous les homestay où nous avons séjourné à Flores (on avait choisi ce homestay pour les commentaires indiquant de superbes échanges et un accueil très chaleureux mais on a été très déçus).

Reviewed Aug 9, 2026Le gérant et sa famille sont aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes. Les chambres sont grandes et propres et le jardin est très joli. Le petit-déjeuner est très bon avec pancake, fruits et brioche. Ils peuvent aussi faire la lessive. La climatisation fonctionne très bien. Nous recommandons.
Pas d'eau chaude mais c'est un village isolé et je ne sais même pas s'il y a de l'eau chaude dans le village.

Le propriétaire est sympathique (trop…) mais trop intrusif pour nous . Nous nous sommes sentis obligés de manger chez eux le premier soir . Et il nous a donné des heures pour rentrer le soir (10h30 11h) mais nous avons 50 ans ! ( sentiment partagé avec un autre couple de français ) Le propriétaire gagnerait à être moins intrusif .

Choix limité de repas le soir mais resto à proximité. Pas d'eau chaude à la douche mais comme souvent en Indonésie. Sinon tout était parfait.

The homestay is clean and has a really nice porch area, and breakfast is great too with tons of fresh fruit.

Personel bardzo pomocny i uprzejmy. Pomogą wszystko zorganizować, doradzić. Panuje rodzinna atmosfera. Obiekt położony jest w spokojnej okolicy, ale wszędzie jest blisko.

Kamer was wat warm, airco niet heel krachtig. Douche is koud, maar is niet heel erg gezien het warme klimaat.

Reviewed Jun 7, 2026Paul is een super vriendelijke gastheer. Je merkt dat hij het erg leuk vindt om gasten te ontvangen en doet er alles aan om het verblijf zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken. We hebben ook via hem een tour langs de 17 islands kunnen boeken. De kamer is erg ruim en helemaal prima voor een paar nachten. Wij hebben ons hier zeker goed vermaakt.

По дороге к пристани обязательно загляните на местный рынок — всё очень удобно и доступно. Но главное сокровище этого места — его хозяин! Нас встретили как самых дорогих гостей: напоили невероятно вкусным кофе, окружили заботой и помогли во всём. Благодаря его помощи нам не пришлось ни о чём беспокоиться. Особенная благодарность за организацию путешествия на лодке! Хозяин составил нам фантастическую программу на несколько дней — посетили соседние острова так, что ни один не повторился. Это было абсолютно волшебно: свежевыловленная рыба, сочные фрукты и невероятно дружелюбная команда, которая старалась изо всех сил. Такие впечатления останутся с нами навсегда! Кстати, это место явно недооценено туристами — здесь потрясающие пляжи и богатый подводный мир, которые редко встретишь где-либо ещё. Завтраки в отеле тоже заслуживают отдельной похвалы — всё свежее и очень вкусное. Отдельное спасибо за организацию трансфера в Мони — вы сделали наше путешествие по-настоящему беззаботным! Обязательно вернёмся к вам снова и уже рекомендуем это место и этот отель всем друзьям!

Reviewed May 4, 2026The staff was incredible and very helpful. Paul and the team warmly greeted us despite our late arrival. We felt so much at home that we ended up extending our stay.
The only complain we could find was the fact that the wifi was a bit spotty and slow in the rooms and we sometimes had to ask the staff to turn it back on.

The room was in excellent condition, breakfast was great, and he also organised my trip to 17 Islands! And on top of that, he took me to his local community and I got to spend an evening with them. Reviewed Feb 11, 2026Wij zouden hier aanvankelijk 1 nacht blijven maar door mijn voedselvergiftiging die ik onderweg had opgelopen zijn we een nacht langer gebleven. De eigenaar heeft mij ontzettend goed geholpen in deze dagen. Echt een ontzettend lieve man die bereid is je ten alle tijden te helpen. Ondanks het ongemak van de voedselvergiftiging hebben wij hier een heel fijn verblijf gehad! Heel blij mee en echt een aanrader als je in de buurt van Riung wilt verblijven!!!!!

Il n’y a pas d’eau chaude, ça ne nous a pas dérangé car il faisait bien chaud mais il faut le savoir. Quand nous y étions le wifi ne fonctionnait pas trop.

Zeer kleine wasbak met weinig waterdruk uit de kraan. Alleen koud water. Geen faciliteiten op de kamer (waterkoker bijvoorbeeld), maar bij navraag is er wel koffie en thee verkrijgbaar.

Paul nous a aussi aidé pour organiser la croisière des îles c’était une superbe journée ! Le petit déjeuner est très bon. L’emplacement est top et les chambres spacieuses avec salle de bain privative ! C’est un très bon endroit pour découvrir Riung !
Les équipements sont un peu vieillots mais ça fait l’affaire. Douche pas d’eau chaude mais pas si dérangeant que ça.

He is very caring and makes sure you have the best stay. On top of that the room is nice and the beds are super comfortable! I would definately stay here again.

Leider hat bei unserem Aufenthalt das Wlan nicht funktioniert was scheinbar an der Leitung und dem Wetter lag.

Douche heeft alleen koud water. Niet een heel groot probleem want Riung is heel warm.

Reviewed Dec 25, 2025The communal garden is beautiful! Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. The beds are so comfortable (including bunk beds!) Extra extraordinarily friendly host, thank you Paul! Extremely generous fruit platter at breakfast. Lots of space to dry our swimming gear. Paul went above and beyond to arrange our amazing trip to the 17 Islands National Park (so great). He also did everything to organise our shared taxi to our next destination. Thank you!
Kids were not so keen on the banana pancakes for breakfast (but loved the fresh fruit platter).

Reviewed Dec 7, 2025Op de eerste dag vonden we het ontbijt een beetje weinig. Toen we dat aangaven kregen we de dag erna een pannenkoek extra.
Hoewel veel andere gasten enthousiast zijn over de eigenaar, voelden wij ons door hem vooral onder druk gezet. Hij stuurde sterk aan op het boeken van tours en taxi’s via hem. Toen we zelf op de pier wilden kijken voor een boottour, werd dit direct afgeraden met argumenten over veiligheid en comfort. Later bleek ook dat andere gasten exact dezelfde tour deden, terwijl wij allebei de prijs voor een privéboot hadden betaald en wij nota bene nog gevraagd hadden of er andere gasten waren met wie we samen op 1 boot konden. Ook bij het regelen van vervoer merkten we dat de prijzen via hem aanzienlijk hoger lagen dan wat we elders (via andere guesthouses) vonden. Dit alles maakte dat wij hem niet als helemaal eerlijk ervaarden. Daarnaast voelde de communicatie voor ons nogal opdringerig, zowel tijdens het verblijf als erna. Zo heeft hij tijdens het verblijf veel aangedrongen op het plaatsen van een positieve review, en negatieve punten alleen aan hem door te geven. Na het plaatsen van onze review werden we direct meerdere keren geappt en gebeld met het verzoek die te verwijderen (2 dagen later nog eens). Toen we aangaven dat we erover wilden nadenken, stuurde hij dat hij “in karma gelooft”. Voor ons kwam dit over als een passief-agressieve opmerking, wat ons eerdere gevoel eigenlijk alleen maar bevestigde. We vermoeden dan ook dat de huidige gemiddelde rating van 9.2 erg beïnvloed wordt door de eigenaar. De kamer zelf was op geen drinkwater en geen wifi na prima: schoon, airco, en een prima ontbijt. Maar voor ons was het geen plek om tot rust te komen, vooral vanwege de manier waarop de eigenaar zich met ons verblijf bemoeide.

Reviewed Nov 27, 2025Super séjour dans cette Guesthouse 🫶 L'accueil est remarquable on se sent comme à la maison. Les chambres donnent sur un petit jardin très reposant. Le tour en bateau proposé est top avec un excellent barbecue. Meilleur poisson que j'ai mangé. Paul m'a aussi aidé à réserver le transport vers ma prochaine étape et m'a emmené voir un magnifique point de vue. En bref, un séjour sans faute entre repos et exploration. Reviewed Nov 26, 2025Paul’s guesthouse is the best place to stay in Riung. The rooms are very spacious and clean, set in a beautiful garden. Paul and his staff are amazingly welcoming and help you with all your requests such as organising a boat trip to the beautiful 17 islands national park. Would definitely recommend to stay at least 2 nights here.

De douche werkte nog niet naar behoren, host vertelde dat direct met inchecken. In de badkamer waren wel andere mogelijkheden om jezelf te kunnen wassen

Reviewed Nov 10, 2025Seit dem Moment, als ich in der Unterkunft angekommen bin, habe ich mich als alleinreisende Frau sicher und sehr willkommen gefühlt. Der Inhaber Paul hat mir sofort geholfen einen Bootsausflug für den nächsten Tag zu organisieren, sowie den Transport nach Riung und weiter. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wenn du einen unvergesslichen, authentischen Aufenthalt in Riung suchst, ist diese Unterkunft perfekt für dich!👍🏼
