Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The location was great and the host was lovely and very helpful. As we checked in late, we were given a code for the front door, which made getting in really easy. The breakfast room had a selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, cereal, porridge and more, and it was always open. We were also able to leave our bags after check-out and collect them later, which was really convenient. The room was clean and the bed was really comfy.

Bed was a bit too soft for us. Room had an issue but Rory was looking into it but nothing too serious.

Soundproofing between rooms and hallways is pretty bad. You can hear the neighbours alarm going off in the morning! Not conducive to a great sleep.

La habitación 9 era muy pequeña, 5 metros cuadrados como máximo, no te podías ni mover, no había espacio ni para la maleta. Para abrir la ventana y subir el estor había que subirse a la cama. El baño, que estaba fuera, compartido con otros huéspedes era muy pequeño y con poca luz y para ducharse había que subir al primer piso. Además desde la habitación se oía ruido, movimiento de gente, puertas y hasta se oía orinar. Ese espacio no debería utilizarse como habitación, más bien como trastero. Lo peor es la relación calidad precio, no se puede cobrar por ella más de 80 € la noche, es abusivo.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Super Lage zur Innenstadt und zum Dexcom Stadion. Konnten wegen eines Rugby Spiels auch schon viel früher einchecken. Sehr entgegenkommender und sympathischer Gastgeber. Kontinentales Frühstück ordentlich, wenngleich es nur löslichen Kaffee gab.
Leider ist die Ausstattung in die Jahre gekommen und könnte eine Renovierung vertragen. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis angesichts des Preisniveaus in Galway aber noch akzeptabel.

La struttura è vecchia, la moquette della stanza era macchiata e i bagni antiquati. Il problema è che andrebbe anche bene se non avessimo.pagato.un prezzo elevato, da albergo a tre stelle, e non avevamo nemmeno il bagno in camera.

Notre chambre, la seule pour trois je pense était située entre la porte d'entrée et la salle des petits déjeuners....

We stayed in a room at the Avalon with four twin beds, which worked for us. We also liked the 10 minute walk into town.

The noisy neighbors from neighboring properties and my next room neighbor who I shared a wall with. To be fair, the off property neighbors became quiet after 9:30pm and the next room neighbors were receptive in keeping down their volume after I spoke to them,

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026Both Claire and Rory were very hospitalible to me and I felt I got a great welcome from both of them. Great selection of breakfast options and the free tea and coffee plus biscuits in the afternoon/evening was a generous and kind gesture. Asked about parking in town and Claire said to leave car at house as the parking is expensive. Again I thought this action was a very thoughtful and kind gesture.
I had my reservations that I had to share a bathroom but it was never an issue. I was delighted that the water was powerful and hot.

I was delighted that the room was available and there was no issue from Rory to rush me to book room. I was delighted I could go back in the afternoon to the B&B to rest because of the heat and it was never a problem. I would highly recommend the B&B 😏😏

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Very comfortable and well kept B&B. Good selection of simple breakfast buffet options. Host wasn’t there on our arrival but sent through good details on how to check in. Our room was lovely, private bathroom was small but good shower pressure still. Shared bathroom was a bigger space if needed. We had a tv in our room with Netflix etc. An easy 10-15 minute was into the Latin Quarter and good foods options about 8 mins walk for dinner. Would happily stay again.
