Nous avons beaucoup aimé le Mud Mirror et le très sympathique et arrangeant M. Lala son propriétaire. La vue de notre chambre était aussi belle que sur les photos. Et nous avons plus qu'adoré notre nuit passée à la belle étoile dans le désert avec notre très bon guide M. Rosa et notre extraordinaire chamelier, Jamser, jeune prince du désert au grand coeur à qui nous souhaitons le meilleur. Balades, discussions... c'était un très beau moment hors du temps et nous le garderons longtemps dans notre coeur :-) Merci à vous tous

For us, stay at jaisalmer is synonymous to Mud Mirror. This is the third time we stayed in this quaint guest house inside the fort. The view from room is amazing, one can see sunrise over the city. Rooms are spacious and clean, Hospitality is awesome, rooftop dining space gives a 360 degree view of Jaisalmer. Will recommend this place anytime

I absolutely loved my stay here! The place is beautiful, very clean, and located right inside Jaisalmer Fort. My room had incredible views — the Jain temples on one side and beyond the fort walls on the other. What made the stay really special was the staff. They were so warm and kind and genuinely took care of me from the heart. They helped me with everything I needed, including arranging my desert trip and showing me around Jaisalmer. Their rooftop restaurant was also a highlight — honestly some of the best Indian food I’ve had during my trip! Beautiful place, amazing location and views, delicious food, and truly wonderful people. Highly recommended!

La disponibilité et la gentillesse du personnel et la bonne cuisine sur un roof top très agréable avec la vue sur les temples.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits au mud Mirror. Les chambres sont magnifiques, on a l'impression d'être dans les comptes des milles et une nuit. L'emplacement est idéal dans le fort, avec une vue sur la ville et sur les remparts. Lala qui a grandi dans cette maison est très attentionné. Nous avons pris un dejeuner et 3 petit déjeuner, Tout est delicieux!! tout est frais et fait sur place. Nous sommes arrivés de Delhi avec le train de 9h du matin et Lala a pu nous accueillir tout de suite, et nous avons pu poser nos affaires en avance ce qui était très confortable.. Lala etait tres attentionne et en meme temps tres discret. Il ne nous a pousse pour rien mais nous a très bien conseillé : Il nous a proposés son cousin Koushl, pour nous guider dans Jaisalmer. Nous avions demandé une visite de 1 heure (nous avons 3 ados de 19, 17 et 15 ans!!)... et finalement le cousin était tellement passionnant que nous sommes restés 4h avec lui. Lala nous a aussi proposé de partir dans le désert dans un coin qu'il connaissait bien ou nous serions seuls... et effectivement, apres une tres bonne route en 4×4 avec James, nous étions seuls pour le dromadaire avec des personnes tres gentils pour guider les Camel notament jameset, dans le désert, et pour le diner et la nuit sous les etoile. C etait magique.

Rien, allez y et discutez bien avec Lala qui est tres interressant. Les photos sont prises des chambres!

incredible hotel with breathtaking view. the owner went out of his way to make us feel at home. you can only get up to the hotel via tuktuk, as it's literally INSIDE the fort walls and taxi's cant come there (so mind your luggage - mostly not a problem for tuktuks if you have 2 big suitcases, but more might need more tuktuks). The view is directly onto the magical jain palace which just feels like a movie. we also used the laundry services which was great. Our only recommendation is to visit jaisalmer outside of june -- as the whole city is closed down!!! You can still visit the temple though which was magical. but all shops and most food places are closed. this wasnt something the hotel could help of course, and in the end it was also quite special to see such a quiet city, where kids play cricket in the alleyways at night... but still! if you're coming to search for antiques like we did, try outside of june.

Das Mud Mirror Guesthouse ist außergewöhnlich in jeder Hinsicht. Sie wphnen direkt im Fort. Lalla und sein Team sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten das Zimmet mit Kingsize Bed und Balcony. Man öffnet ein Fenster und blickt auf den Jaintempel. Vom Balcony aus sieht man morgens den atemberaubenden Sonnenaufgang. Dann gibt es noch eine wunderschöne Rooftop- Bar, ebenfalls mit Blick auf den Jaintempel. Dort kann man lecker essen und trinken.

One of the most beautiful rooms we ever stayed in. Very nicely decorated. They were very flexible with check-in and check-out times. This was a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend! Really nice rooftop terrace as well.

We had such a wonderful time staying at this amazing guesthouse. It's in a fantastic location inside Jaisalmer fort, the views are breathtaking and the room is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and well equipped. All the staff were so kind, helpful and friendly, we felt so welcome and at home here. All of the food we ate here was absolutely delicious, amongst the best we've eaten in our 4 month trip in India. Overall it's one of our favourite places we've ever stayed in our many years travelling. We'll definitely stay here again whenever we come to Jaisalmer. Thanks so much to the entire team for such a fantastic stay, I really can't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic location at the top of Jaisalmer fort...one of the last remaining 'working' forts in the world. The moderate challenges of getting to the accommodation and living there are a large part of the great experience. If you have a sense of adventure and enjoy new experiences - this is a great place to stay. The rooms are quirky and unique, with views to die for. The breakfast was good, and served with a view over the surrounding town and desert that I doubt could be matched. Lala and his staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful and that is a good thing because the guesthouse does have some issues, primarily because it is located in an ancient fort. Their knowledge of the area, its history, and recommendations for activities were superb.

There were hot water challenges which were understood by the property, and we were coached in how to handle them. However, it was a regular challenge. There were cleanliness issues when we arrived, but all were dealt with willingly, and with great understanding.

This hotel is beautifully located in the heart of the Jaisalmer fort. My room had a beautiful view of the ancient Shri Laxminath Temple. The room was quite spacious and clean.

Location was amazing- best view of looking from top of wall- unobstructed view. Bed comfortable and nice smelling sheets. Owner and staff exceptional at making stay as comfortable as possible, great and plenty breakfast. It rained, first time in 6 months!

Was a little hard to get to in the maze of streets inside the fort. Staff from Haveli came to get suitcases and us at fort entrance and guided us to Haveli.

The Mud Mirror Guesthouse was without a doubt the best of our 5 different stays in Rajasthan. The highlight was the staff, all of which were super friendly, funny and laid back, always at hand to help or answer any questions. Our room had a beautiful view towards the town as well as the Jain temple next to it, and, due to it being directly at the forts' wall, didn't get very much noise at all. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast and the dinner prepared by Ramesh and the others was also very yummy and the rooftop is highly recommendable to just have a lie down, relax and watch the sunset. A big thank you again to all of the staff at Mud mirror!

Probably the most value for money guest house inside the Jaisalmer Fort! The view, the feels, the natural insulation from the cold, everything was perfect!

Mud mirror is a lovely guest house in s stunning location. Our room looked out one side on the Jain temple and the other side had the most amazing view of the fort and the city. The staff are fantastic.. so helpful, happy and friendly. Wonderful service all round. We had originally booked a more expensive hotel in town but we are so glad we changed to mud mirror...for the location alone it is great value but the service and staff make it super special.

Great location and is a part of the Jaisalmer fort. The hotel provided fabulous views of Jain Temple and township. The room we stayed in was 700 years old. This created a unique and profound experience to our trip. The staff were all so friendly and helped us as we navigated the streets and narrow walkways within the fort. The showers were hot with plenty of water.

It was quite hard to find from the road below. But will worth the mission.

Great hotel in a very historic location in the fort. There are views of the Jain temple on one side and the city on the other side. Water for shower comes out hot and the room is very clean. The owner and his staff were fantastic people.

The host & staff, especially the restaurant staff were great. The host was attentive, making sure we had everything we needed & were enjoying our stay. The food delicious. The room was spacious with a super large bed & big bathroom. The views were fantastic. The property overlooks the temples & is near to the palace. Everything is within walking distance. We stayed 3 nights. I would highly recommend.

Tellement bien placé! Je pense que c'est THE place to be quand vous venez à Jaiselmer. Le personnel a été formidable et très arrangeant avec nous. Nous sommes arrivé tard à Jaiselmer, aux alentours de 00h30 si je me souviens bien. L’hôtel nous a envoyé un chauffeur de rickshwas pour nous récupérer à la gare et nous conduire jusqu’à la forteresse où notre hôte nous attendais pour nous guider jusqu’à l’établissement. La chambre était superbe, nous avons très bien dormit! Et la vue le matin, de la chambre ou du roof top est magnifique!!!! Merci pour votre bel accueil et votre hospitalité. Nous avons adoré séjourner chez vous.

Es war so fantastisch. Wir fühlten uns wie in 1001 Nacht. Unser Zimmer war sauber und wunderschön eingerichtet. Das Essen auf der Dachterrasse mit einem Ausblick auf denTempel und die Umgebung, ausgezeichnet. Das Personal außergewöhnlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben die Wüstenübernachtung vom Guesthouse gebucht, die wir nur empfehlen können. Was uns besonders gefallen hat, war ein Spaziergang am Abend durch das Fort. Danke Lilly und Sandra

Mud Mirror is an amazing little hotel! The location is incredible - right at the wall of the fort and directly across from the Jain temple. Perfect for easy and early access to top sights! The rooms were very comfortable, the host super helpful and friendly, and all the other staff were great! We especially appreciated Ramesh shuttling our luggage down to the fort entrance. (Cars and tuk-tuks are not allowed in the fort except after 8pm until 8am). The hotel also has a like restaurant on the rooftop. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast up there both mornings.

Bring a sleep mask! Some rooms have views looking out over the town from the fort - which is amazing! Less amazing is the fact that the fort is lit up all night and those bright lights shine into the rooms.

Location of the guest house is inside Jaisalmer Fort, 2 mins walk from the fort’s main square and just in front of the Jain temple. Rooms are clean and city is visible from the window. Owner is very friendly and welcoming, so are the staffs. A rooftop restaurant is there from where you can see the city at one side and Jain temple on the other.

Only issue is if you have your car, it needs to be parked outside the fort where finding parking space is a big task on a busy day. We had scratches on our car while parked overnight. If you have parents or persons who has problem in walking, reaching to the location can be tiresome.

Posizione eccellente dentro il forte con vista sulla città da una finestra e su un tempio dall'altra. Lala disponibilissimo per qualsiasi cosa e organizza anche tour nel deserto anche se noi avevamo già prenotato tutto. Camera pulita e terrazza dove abbiamo fatto sia colazione che cena molto buoni e con bellissima vista. Visto il prezzo non posso lamentarmi di niente neanche delle lunghe attese anche per una semplice bibita ..ma va benissimo tutto se non si ha fretta infatti ho messo un bel 10 per l'ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Grazie Lala....

This hotel offers city views from the guest rooms and rooftop terrace. The sunrises and sunsets are also spectacular. The hotel, located south of the Jaisalmer Fort, was renovated from a centuries-old military facility. It's a great location for exploring the inner quarters of the fort and meeting the residents. The owner, Lala, is friendly and makes guests feel at home. I mentioned a slight smell in the bathroom, and he promised to fix it. Overall, it's a great value hotel.

Bathroom smelt from drains but there were airfreshioners etc and could close the door. An information booklet in the room could be good e.g. wifi password, map of fort, some recommendations, camel safari info, food menu etc

Het personeel is geweldig! Iedereen is super behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Het uitzicht is spectaculair, de kamers zijn schoon en het eten is goed. Hele fijne plek om te verblijven, een aanrader voor iedereen!

De badkamer is basic maar wel schoon, maar misschien ook te verwachten voor deze prijs.

From the moment we were picked up at the square, the staff guided us to the fort and introduced us around the area. We met the owner, Lala, who personally showed us to our room. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view of the city to the left and an up-close-and-personal view of a temple to the right. The guesthouse also has a lovely rooftop restaurant. We went on a desert jeep tour organized by the hotel, which included a chef who cooked for us in the sand. While the chef prepared our meal, we wandered around the quiet desert. Unfortunately, our stargazing plans were disrupted by a sandstorm, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The hospitality at Mud Mirror is exceptional. We had a late bus in the evening after check-out and with the heat that day, he kindly offered us a vacant room to rest and take shower before our departure. The tuktuk driver he arranged also wait to make sure we got on the right bus safely. From the kitchen staff to the team on the ground and the owner himself, the experience reflects true teamwork and genuine care. Highly recommend!

It was incredible being able to stay in the fort and the rooms had stunning views. The rooftop/terrace restaurant was delicious and had fresh food made to order. All the staff were very friendly and it was very easy to communicate with the owner on WhatsApp. The rooms were furnished in traditional style and very beautiful. Everyone around the fort knows Mud Mirror (small community) and can help you find it.

Due to power fluctuations, the aircon could be inconsistent. This is not the fault of the hotel at all but is something to keep in mind.

Great location. The staff was very helpful at all times. The roads to the fort were closed on the day we arrived. Ramesh bhai and another person (sorry, forgot his name) came to pick us up at the bottom of the fort and carried most of our luggage up to the hotel. The food in the rooftop restaurant was also very tasty. The location is fantastic - right next to the famous Jain temples. From the rooftop restaurant, we could see for miles and get the idea of the remoteness of Jaisalmer. Lalubhai explained the history of the city and its importance in ancient trade routes. We also arranged our half-day dessert safari through Lalubhai. Again, the driver and the camel minders were very courteous. Camel safari was the highlight of our Rajasthan trip.

Mr. Lala es un guía increíble y nos contó muchas cosas interesantes de la ciudad y el país. Nos ayudó a organizar el safari al desierto al precio estándar y con muy buen servicio. La habitación era fantástica, decorada con muchísimo gusto y en plena muralla. Las vistas eran excepcionales. Está situado dentro del fuerte. Nos permitió un muy late check-out al volver del desierto.

La posizione nel pieno centro del forte a due passi dai templi e dal palazzo. Ci hanno organizzato un giro in cammello nel deserto con cena inclusa, esperienza divertente . Camera molto ampia. Ristorante sulla terrazza con vista magnifica.

L’hôtel est idéalement placé au sein de la forteresse. Magnifique vue sur les remparts et le temple. Lala, le patron, et tout en personnel sont très attentifs ils font de leur mieux pour répondre à vos attentes Les chambres sont très agréables très confortables climatisées

Lieu magnifique dans le fort qui est incroyable ! Nous sommes arrivé très tôt, l'hôte a su bien nous accueillir malgré l'heure et nous ont très bien conseillé. Je recommande vraiment cette location car elle permet de vivre pleinement l'expérience de vie dans le fort qui est très paisible et agréable. La chambre est plus que conforme à nos attentes et la vue est le plus gros atout.

If you travel to Jaisalmer you must stay here! The rooms are stunning, as are the views, and they hold a lot of history (700 years old). The AC and fans in the rooms kept it cool in 40°c + heat, and the room had a little window perch, meaning you could relax when the desert sun was too hot. It will feel like a home away from home with Lala's incredible hospitality, kidness and generosity. We were even invited to a meal with his beautiful family, the highlight of our trip so far. They helped us organise safaris and TukTuk journeys and gave us tips for what to do in the city. The breakfast overlooking the Jain temple was also amazing!

Charming hotel with beautiful views and a great location inside the fort — just 2 minutes from the Chandraprabhu Jain Temple and 3 minutes from the Jaisalmer Palace Museum. The room and common areas were clean and tidy, and the bed and linens were excellent. The place has a warm, family-like atmosphere where I felt safe and well cared for. Having breakfast on the rooftop was a lovely experience — despite the extreme heat in May, the mornings were still fresh and pleasant. Card payment is accepted, which is very convenient. Ramesh was incredibly kind and always available to help, and Lala (the owner) and his family truly made me feel like part of theirs. Such a wonderful stay in Jaisalmer — I’m truly grateful for the entire experience.

Loved our stay at Mud Mirror! The hotel is perfectly located in the fort so you can do most of the main activities by foot. The room was really spacious, super clean and the bathroom even had a window (rare enough to mention in India). But the best part of this hotel is definitely the owner and all of the staff - lovely, lovely people. Would definitely stay there again!

We reached at 11:30 pm at night, but they not only sent a tuk-tuk to pick us up, but also stayed up to welcome us. The view from the rooms and the rooftop restaurant is breathtaking. The rooms are cozy and spacious. But the location, views and most importantly the behaviour of the staff tops it all. They are so nice and helpful that you would want to come back again. They guided us for sightseeing and also helped arrange the desert safari with trip to the Tanot Mata temple and Loungewala. They not just serve you on the trip but specifically the owner knows how to strike good conversations and keep people happy. This place and the staff’s hospitality is worth experiencing at least once.

This is such a great guesthouse. The owner was incredibly accommodating, helping us organise a wonderful trip into the desert and helping us when we arrived very very early in Jaisalmer. The food in the restaurant is so yummy and up on a rooftop with views of the city. The rooms are lovely, clean and spacious. This was our best stay in Rajasthan and we have been here for over a month.

The property is exactly as shown in the pictures. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The Owner Mr. Lala gives personal attention to all the guests. Will recommend everyone to stay here if you are visiting Jaisalmer.

Location, window view of the city, room is spacious

Too much expensive food for only vegetarian items.. rs 50 per tea is too high.

Excellent staff and superb location. Vintage view from the hotel steals your heart. Superb and unique hotel rooms with authentic settings. Staff is very helpfull. Special mention to onwer who takes care of all your needs adn invoves himself personally with guests.

Only one improvement can be on room service.

Hands down the best place to stay inside the fort- especially for the value and price . Lala the owner makes you feel like family and makes sure you have everything you need and also very knowledgeable guide. The decor inside all the royal rooms is so beautiful , and almost all rooms have rooms of city some with Jain temple , so I loved sitting on my patio window and writing. Ramesh Jasu Kunal in the restaurant make the best Nutella banana pancakes - great restaurant view. Loved my stay thanks team!!
