Kafana Guest House Nile View

Kafana and Mostafa were amazing, so welcoming and friendly we felt right at home. They organised a free transfer directly to the hotel which was muchly appreciated. The room was exceptional. Very clean and had everything you needed. Aircon was nice and cold. Breakfast was amazing and hosts were so willing to bring out more if we were still hungry. The view of the Nile is amazing and only a short walk to the public ferry to easily get back to mainland. We could not recommend this place more.

Kafana is a great great person, he shows support and great service litterly from the moment i booked and i mean it one minute after booking inhad a call to check on me and when i will arrive. Great service

We absolutely loved our stay at Kafana's! It was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Egypt. The location is gorgeous, and the Nile keeps the temperature lovely (we were here in July!). The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the air conditioning works extremely well. The food is incredible and we did not want to eat anywhere else! And it is very easy to get to the mainland from Kafana's; it's simple to walk to the ferry and get across the river. But the best part about Kafana's is the people. The people here are so kind, generous, and funny. We learned a lot about Nubian culture, and they helped us navigate Aswan really well. Every day we would tell Kafana what we wanted to see and do that day and he would help us make the best plan. I recommend Kafana's to anyone coming to Aswan!

Kafana is an exceptionally caring host who truly looks after his guests. He pays attention to every detail and is always ready to help. Whenever I had questions about transportation, tours, or travel plans, he was able to arrange everything quickly and smoothly, which made my stay completely stress-free. When I accidentally overslept before my Abu Simbel trip, they patiently waited for me and made sure I didn’t miss the tour. That level of care is rare and meant a lot to me. The highlight was definitely the balcony view. It offers a peaceful and private panorama of the Nile and the desert, away from the crowds and noise. Sitting there in the morning or at sunset was one of the most memorable parts of my time in Aswan.

Kafana et sa famille est au petit soin. Très disponible et super sympa. Le lieu est calme, la nourriture bonne, le cadre est agréable et paisible. Il a su que c’était mon anniversaire et m’a fait la surprise d’un gros gâteau. Vraiment super chouette.

J’étais avec deux adolescents, 15 et 19 sur une chambre à l’étage avec mini balcon. La chambre est simple et propre. Le petit déjeuner est super ainsi que le repas du soir . On mange sur une petite terrasse face au Nil avec vue sur la rive Ouest. C’est calme et paisible. Kafana est très sympa et à nos petits soins. Un très bon séjour. Je recommande

The guesthouse was the highlight of our visit to Aswan. Kafana greeted us warmly on the first day and the staff were very kind and accommodating. He arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and the guesthouse has their own boat which ferried us directly which was very convenient. Every meal we had at the restaurant was delicious and we especially loved the aubergine tagine. It was so relaxing to sit by the water to enjoy our meals or just pass the time. Kafana kindly lent us some kayaks as well so we could enjoy the Nile right on the water which was another highlight. Every aspect of our trip was comfortable and Kafana himself was always looking for ways to make our trip easier.

I loved being on Elephtine island away from the noise ,but still convenient to everything I wanted to do.cafes, shopping etc. tours.The guesthouse provides their boat to take you anywhere you want to go,the food is very good especially the tagine and complimentary Nubian breakfast w/ fruit, eggs, bread etc.Mohamed took excellent care of me touring me around the Nubian island which is a lovely boat ride, lots shops,with hand made local arts and crafts,cafes,hotels etc.Lots of camels in this village which is fun to see or ride.Mohamed knows everything and everyone ,everywhere in Aswan. All the staff at Kafana were above and beyond good service.

Sérieusement ,je fais très peu souvent de commentaire, nous avons été reçu comme si c’était la famille, ils nous ont aider à organiser plusieurs activités et on fait le suivi en direct pour être certain que nous avons aucun problème et sérieusement les prix étais très bien. On a manger sur place 2 x et c’était délicieux. Il n’as pas voulu de paiement avant la fin de notre séjour à notre grande inquiétude et quand ça été le temps de faire les comptes, c’était juste même que selon nous il manquais des trucs. Il voulais que lon profite de notre séjours et c’était très réussi. Je recommande fortement. Attention …très farceur , Pat du Québec

Alojamento bem localizado à beira do rio Nilo com vista para ilha do Jardim Botânico de Assua. O staff era muito simpático em especial o anfitrião, Sr. Kafana, que foi muito prestável em ajudar com as tours e com as viagens de chegada e partida. A comida do alojamento era igualmente deliciosa

The scenery is beautiful, and you can reach the city center very quickly by public ferry. The staff at Kafana are all incredibly friendly.

The hot water is limited and isn't enough for two people to take showers back-to-back.

Kafana guesthouse is a beautiful tranquil place on Elephantine island. It's an oasis of peace with simple and clean accommodations. The best part about the guesthouse, apart from being a hidden gem, is the owner Kafana himself and his meals and hospitality. If you are staying in Aswan, don't look further than Kafana and his guesthouse.

Beautiful location and helpful and very friendly owner and staff! Kafana can help arrange everything you need from airport transfers to tours to a boat ride. I would highly recommend using him because you will get door to door service as opposed to tour companies who say they will pick you up and then you find you have to use the ferry. His prices are also very good! Highly recommend staying here!

Evitez la chambre sans vue sur le Nil qui n'a pas de fenêtre sur l'extérieur et une salle de bains spartiate et préférez les chambres avec balcon.

If you are after an authentic, homely Nubian stay - this is perfect! Kafana was so helpful in helping us arrange tours (which were cheaper than Viator and other agencies and more convenient according to our own timings). He also picked us up and arranged all a the logistics. He truly made our stay so lovely. His guesthouse has recently been refurbished, in fact we saw some of the Nubian art being done live during our stay! So many good things to say! Also the food here is delicious!

Les informations étaient un peu dures à obtenir car nous souhaitions voyager par nous-mêmes en dehors des agences. Nous avions une chambre avec une terrasse avec vue sur le Nil très belle, mais la nuit c’était assez bruyant à cause des bateaux qui passent donc peut-être dormir plutôt de l’autre côté et la terrasse commune est suffisante pour la vue

Kafana nos ayudó en todo lo que necesitábamos, incluso nos armó el desayuno para los dos días que estuvimos ya que nuestros tour eran muy temprano.

L'île Éléphantine est charmante ; il y est très agréable, relaxant et apaisant d'y séjourner. Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour chez Kafana ! La guest house dispose d'une terrasse en bord de lac où d'excellents petits déjeuners sont servis. Les chambres sont d'une propreté exemplaire, et la literie était très confortable ! Nous avions un joli balcon donnant sur le Nil.

Un havre de paix, de quiétude et de sérénité, loin du tumulte urbain, qui donne sur une rive sauvage du Nil. Nous avons été merveilleusement bien accueillis par Kafana, qui a décoré cette chambre d'hôtes intime avec goût. Nous avons aussi dégusté une très bonne cuisine maison. Je recommande chaleureusement.

Kafana was a wonderful host. He made sure that we had everything we needed. He arranged our transport from the airport although we arrived late. The view of the Nile from the room and the breakfast area is so calm and beautiful. The breakfast was handmade and very tasty. The room was very clean.

We didn’t have the opportunity to stay longer and enjoy the scenery.

Kafana was a great place to stay! The owner takes real good care of his guests and the room was clean with a beautiful view! We also loved staying on the Elephantine island. Everyone we met was so kind and funny.

La vue est magnifique! On peut rester tranquile , manger et relaxer au bord du Nile. The staff is so friendly, nobody ask tips and they are always smiling. Katana , the ownwer is very responsive and always taking care of you. The room was clean and the beds were confortable. A must place to stay in the Elephantine Island. L'emplacement est magnifique, face au Mausolée et au monastère, avec vue sur le nil et la nature. Kafana et son équipe sont au petits oignons pour que le séjour se passe au mieux, les prix sont justes et il est archi disponible.

Moins charmant que certaines auberges Nubiennes sur le choix des carrelages (bon je pinaille) parce que on regarde surtout dehors!!!.

The ever changing golden view from the Kafana Guesthouse is sublime. This welcoming family run guesthouse makes their guests feel like family. Nothing is too much of a trouble. Sitting on the front watching the Feluccas sail past, whilst enjoying a memorable Egyptian breakfast or dinner was so relaxing.

The breakfast was so generous and tasty, beans, fabulous omelette, bread, fruit, cheese, tea, coffee. The location on Elephantine Island was quiet and peaceful. Thank you for giving us a gorgeous Nile view room with a balcony. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and helped us with all our needs. Tout était parfait, excellent séjour passé au bord du Nil. Kafana est un super hote qui fait tout pour que votre séjour se passe au mieux. A ne pas manquer le tour en felouque au coucher du soleil avec Mustafa qui est d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Je recommande cet endroit dans lequel nous sommes restés quatre jours tellement nous avons été bien accueillies.

Great view of Nile with easy access to ferry landing back into Aswan city. Kafana and staff were amazing and very accommodating. Kafana made sure we had transportation to hotel at beginning and from hotel when leaving stay that wasn’t the paid ferry. Kafana also helped us plan tours and even planned us a tour to our next stop, Luxor! We couldn’t recommend this place enough! We’re already planning on when we can come back to see them!

The staff (kefana and hazem) were really helpful and arranged everything we needed for good prices including transport from the airport and to Luxor and the transfer to abu simbel. The Nile view was beautiful and the food we ordered for dinner was delicious - the tagine and baba gaboush in particular 😊

The bathroom could be improved so that water from the shower doesnt go everywhere and some extra small towels would be useful in the room. But nothing much else to report!

Well, we like our accomodations calm and clean, with a really nice owner and staff who care for us and are well connected, good food, a place where interesting fellow travellers like to meet and not the least, a solid Wifi connection. Kafana ticks all the boxes and the location and views are just amazing.

Guesthouse exceptionnelle, sur la rive ouest de l'île elephantine, au calme. Très jolie terrasse où il fait bon rêver en regardant passer les felouques et les oiseaux. Mohamed est un hôte formidable, d'un gentillesse hors du commun, ne sachant que faire pour nous rendre service, de même qu'Arhmed le taxi boat et la souriante jeune femme à son service. Il fait bon vivre à la Kafana house.

Il saura être disponible pour organiser votre séjour et suivra son bon déroulement. Son équipe est tout aussi adorable, merci à eux, et le restaurant est juste top !
