I was the only person in the hotel, which is ok but the problem is that I order breakfast and no one was around. Couldn’t even get water as I was literally left by myself in the guesthouse. I contacted the managers many times and never responded. The room was super dirty. I had to clean and even wash my own sheets (that’s how dirty it was) I only like the view of the Nile from the room

It was really bad experience, I was not taken care of. No breakfast for 2 days eve when I confirmed it over the night before, first time I thought they didn’t understand but the second time it was the same and they just didn’t care about me at all. Room was dirty, I had to use a mop and clean the bathroom and room

I spent two nights at hooly nubian during a 12 day trip to Egypt, and really enjoyed the change of pace that Elephantine Island offered after the busyness of Cairo and being bombarded by person after person looking to squeeze some money out of me in Luxor. The facility is simple but clean and comfortable, and the setting along the Nile River is lovely. My second evening, I rented a kayak from hooly nubian to go out on the river around sunset, and that was one of the more peaceful moments I had during my time in Egypt. Would highly recommend that if the loud boat cruises aren't your thing. I had a room that opened onto a balcony of sorts overlooking the Nile, and that was a nice place to spend a little while after sunset in the cool of the evening. Ahmed responded quickly on Whatsapp and was helpful in arranging shared transportation to Abu Simbel, and the boat to take me back to the mainland on my departure day was on time. He also provided some other recommendations, which were appreciated. I thought hooly nubian was a pretty good value for the price and can recommend it for a stay of a few days. I wasn't sure how I would feel about needing to take a boat ride to get anywhere, but that ended up being only a pretty minor inconvenience and being in a beautiful and peaceful location was worth it.

Un vrai havre de paix, au cœur de l’île Elephantine avec une vue magnifique sur le mausolée Aga Khan et le monastère. Une vraie expérience au cœur de la beauté du Nil, je recommande !

Ahmed nagyon kedves, sokat segített a programok, közlekedés megszervezésében, nagyon informatív volt. Szép kilátás a szobából és a parton. Asszuán és a szállás között mindig hajóval vitték, hoztak, a szállás szolgáltatása! 😁

Nem volt szekrény, polc a ruháknak, lámpák az olvasáshoz. A reggelihez a kenyér nem igazán volt friss.

What a relaxing place to stay. Looking out over the Nile River it is calming. The manager is so helpful - sorting out tours and transfer for me. He was always transparent and made sure that the drivers, tour guides etc were where they needed to be. Communication was the best of egypt so far! These trips also included motorboat transfers to the mainland free of charge. The WiFi worked really well and it was so glorious that the single room was the one with a balcony.

Given you’re on a dusty island the room was also a bit duty but the sheets and towels were clean.

Außergewöhnlich freundliches Servicepersonal im Hotel, insbesondere der Vermieter war sehr freundlich im Kontakt und unterstützend bei dem Aufenthalt in Assuan. Tipps für Besichtigungen, Restaurants und Taxis machten den Aufenthalt auf Elephantine wirklich erholsam und interessant. Ich kann das Hotel empfehlen.

Tout : la vue sur le Nil et le désert de Libye, le calme de la rive ouest de l’ile, la gentillesse et le accueil du personnel. Petit déjeuner traditionnel et copieux. Un merci tout particulier à Ahmed qui nous a organisé 2 excursions exceptionnelles sur-mesure. Hôte très accueillant et bienveillant. Je recommanderai à tous mes amis cette adresse. Staying on Elephantine Island was such a special experience, and Ahmed played a huge part in making it memorable. He helped me organize tours to Abu Simbel and other sites for the best possible price, always making sure I was getting fair local rates. What really stood out was his dedication, he even woke up at 4am to make sure the boat came to pick me up on time. That level of care is rare. I highly recommend staying on this side of the island. It’s much quieter and has beautiful views toward the Aswan Botanical Garden. Watching the sunset from the balcony overlooking the Nile River was a truly memorable moment for me. The room itself is simple, so don’t expect luxury. The bed isn’t the most comfortable, but I honestly didn’t mind because the lovely private balcony and the common viewing area over the Nile more than made up for it. The atmosphere felt peaceful and authentic. Ahmed also arranged a taxi pickup that included a boat transfer bringing me directly in front of the hotel. That seamless arrival alone was worth the money. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic stay with genuine local hospitality and someone who will go the extra mile for you, this is the place.

Super emplacement sur l'île Elephantine, au calme, surplombant le Nil face au désert et au soleil couchant. Un bateau vient nous chercher le premier jour et nous ramène au départ, très pratique. Sinon si on veut retourner en ville il suffit de marcher 10 min pour prendre un ferry public. Nous y avons également pris un repas, très bon et à un prix très raisonnable. Merci pour le séjour.

They helped us arrange all our activities (transfer from the airport, faluca ride, abu simbel, and transfer to luxor), and always with a smile. The location is super peaceful.

the sweetest staff that kept bringing me tea and more cause I had a cold back then. Also the view from the room, directly on the nile was just stunning! Elephantine island is a great spot to stay for exploring, no cars and very original way of living. With all the pro and cons which are part of that :)

I think for the price an included breakfast would be fair.

Lovely location with beautiful views of the Nile- Kayaking right out the front and a felucca ride with Mohamed were highlights. We could easily walk to the Nubian village and archaeological site. Can only get there from Aswan via boat, but the boat was always waiting at the times we organised, or not far away when we went exploring Aswan and called one of the guys. Make sure you make time to go over the other side of the river to have dinner at Rashad’s and take a camel ride up the sand dunes for sunset- Amazing.

L'accueil, la gentillesse et le professionnalisme du personnel. L'aide exceptionnelle du gérant pour organiser des excursions à proximité, bravo ! La situation de la gesthouse et la vue de la chambre.

Le manque de confort : matelas vétustes contenant des punaises de lit. Le manque de propreté de la chambre à notre arrivée.

Petit déjeuner très correct, équipe sympathique et réactive, situation idéale face au Nil avec une vue magnifique.

Confort très sommaire, lits trop durs, salles de bain pas très propres et assez mal agencées ( la douche donne directement sur le siège des toilettes).

Das Gästehaus liegt malerisch und ruhig am Nil, so dass das Frühstück auf der Terrasse ein echtes Highlight ist. Man erreicht das Haus per Boot, was der Gastgeber Ahmed perfekt organisiert. Auch ansonsten ist das Personal top und hat uns bei der Planung unserer Ausflüge super unterstützt.

Toto ubytování je na ostrově na Nilu naproti botanické zahradě. Krásné klidné místo. Do ubytování nás přivezla loď. Komunikace a spolehlivost 100%. Vše nám pomohli zařídit , jak loď, taxi tak dobré rady. Hlavně vše na čas což u Egypťanů moc nefunguje. Tady vše na jedničku s hvězdičkou. Hlavně na čas. Určitě bych se sem vrátila. Pohostinost, lidskost, zodpovědnost. Super přístup jen tak dál pánové.

Vše bylo úžasné.

I have never stayed at a more beautiful place in the world. All the staff were extremely helpful, polite, and a lot of fun. It will be the only place I stay in Egypt from now on.

On a attendu une heure et demi à Assouan Notre contact injoignable ni par téléphone ni par mail. On a fini par réserver un autre établissement

Casa nubiana in un villaggio nubiano, lontano dal caos, sulla parte ovest (la migliore) dell'isola Elefantina. La mia camera aveva il terrazzino privato. A disposizione degli ospiti ci sono i kayak, con i quali ho oltrepassato il nilo insieme ad Ahmir. La vista sul nilo è spettacolare, anche solo facendo colazione la mattina. Ma soprattutto la gentilezza di Ahmir e di tutto lo staff e dei loro amici che puoi trovare li. Ho trascorso 3 giorni meravigliosi. Non c'è lusso e tutto è molto basico, ma è il bello di questo posto per entrare pienamente nell'atmosfera nubiana che è completamente diversa dall'egitto. La colazione di Ahmir è semplice ma molto buona. Potete arrivare li direttamente con la barca di proprietà Accanto c'è anche un ristornate molto buono e comodo.

Traumhafte Lage. Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf den Nil, das Mausoleum und den botanischen Garten. Es ist wunderbar ruhig, man schläft großartig. Der Gastgeber Ahmed ist eine Unterstützung in jeder Lebenslage: er hat uns mit dem Boot abgeholt, uns eine Fahrt in ein nubisches Dorf organisiert und uns sogar geholfen als unser nächster Transfer ausgefallen ist. Zum Service gehört auch eine gratis Fahrt mit der Felukke im Sonnenuntergang. Man kann nicht besser treffen in Assuan.

Un accueil et une gentillesse exceptionnels. Ils sont venus nous chercher à la marina en bateau privé, nous ont proposé de faire du kayak et nous ont fait passer de très bons moments en leur compagnie. Si vous recherchez de l'authenticité et de la bienveillance, n'hésitez pas !

De prachtige locatie aan de Nijl op het gastvrije Elefantine eiland Amir, Ahmed en Rashad hebben ons verblijf tot een hoogtepunt van onze reis gemaakt. Mohammed bracht ons met zijn motorboot overal gratis naartoe.

We bleven helaas maar een week.

Un endroit paradisiaque ! Ahmed et sa famille nous ont chaleureusement accueillis et Ahmed, le capitaine est une personne adorable, prévenante et au sourire contagieux ! Ils nous ont même aidés à couper notre shisha en deux avec une scie à métaux pour la glisser dans la valise !! Et puis, ils nous ont organisé une visite à Philae de nuit en 10mn ! Quant aux dates du jardin : un régal ! Merci encore à toute la famille !

Absolutely amazing place. The views and the tranquility is like nothing else in Egypt. Situated on an island on the Nile it's amazing how quiet and peaceful it is. The room was excellent and very clean the hosts were amazing really making me feel welcome and helping me with whatever I needed.

It's a nice place but very basic. The staff was very helpful to organise local transports/tours especially Abu Simbel which was great. It's on the island so need boat transfer to get to mainland. It was adequate for the few nights I stayed.

The guesthouse hooly nubian is the perfect place and perfect location and ahmed is very friendly and hospitality and he is available every time if you want place to injoy and good service hooly your choice

Absolutely everything. The stay was properly magical. The room is big and clean with private bathroom. The terrasse is very charming and on the Nile river, with in the desert view on the other side and a few minutes by boat to the botanic garden. Ahmed is the kindest host I’ve had. He helped me a lot with my visits in Aswan but also with the organisation of my trips to Luxor and Abu Simbel. He is very well connected with the Aswan community and I could organize my visits directly with him which made it so easy to enjoy the time in Aswan. A big plus, at the hostel, there are canoe available from the terrasse to enjoy solo trips in the Nile. Very cool.

This place is in an amazing location right on the west bank of Elephantine Island with a fantastic view over the Nile. The owner is friendly and helpful. With a little TLC, this could be a very nice place to stay.

First impressions are everything. We requested a transfer from the airport and we were met by a driver with one of the worst condition cars I've ever seen (and trust me I've been around). This really freaked my wife out and we had a very tense journey into Aswan. Then there was a lot of confusion regarding the boat transfer, but eventually a teenager arrived in a boat without lights, and we sailed in the darkness to the guesthouse crashing into a boat full of tourists on the way. The guesthouse itself was basic - no proper sheets on the bed, doors that didn't close properly, etc. The wifi didn't work at all. My wife being more sensitive than me demanded that we leave, but as it was late, we decided to stay for the first night. We left the next morning and luckily found a far superior place for exactly the same price.

I arrived here at midnight, and the staff warmly assisted me in catching a boat to the hotel, as it is located on a small island opposite the city. This place is peaceful and picturesque. Unfortunately, I came alone, which felt a bit lonely—having a travel companion would have made it truly wonderful.😁

The position is ideal for us, on the quiet side of the island, right in front of the river. The owner was very helpful and gave us indications on how to reach Abu Simbel and Luxor by public transport and giving us an idea of what the prices were. He also organized the transport by boat for us early in the morning. Our room was basic but clean and had a nice view to the Nile. The breakfast was good as well. Perfect for short stays like ours. Very good value for money overall.

It was a bit confusing to find the place upon arrival, also due to the labyrinthic layout of the roads. The surroundings are rather run down (like all the island really).

Super friendly manager Ahmed, already ready to help, to provide us with infomation and solutions. He helped us to arrange the trip to Abu simbel , Philae temple, and taxi drivers. We arrived very late after midnight but the check in was very smooth. The house is very cute right in front of the river with beautiful views. The little Restaurant “ Nile View “ next to the house is also very pleasant.

Great location overlooking the Nile with a fantastic view from the terrace. It is at a quiet area, and the host was very kind to take us to the shore by motor boat. The place is spacious.

The wifi did not work, the place was not cleaned well. We found a scorpion in the room. It was difficult to find, the pictures are leading to a neighboring house.

A beautiful Nubian house with an amazing view. The roof terrace provides an excellent view of the Celestial horizon and the scintillating water under it. The breakfast was also excellent.

Ahmed was the best host and went above and beyond. He helped us plan our trip and gave us excellent advice on the true price for taxis amd boat rides. He even helped us plan one of our days.

Ahmed is a very cooperative person who coordinated all our trips.

We had the two bedrooms with air conditioning, so that was a definite positive! View on upstairs terrace was lovely. Beds comfy. Clean linen. Host organised an airport taxi pickup, and the accommodation also included a return water taxi, which we weren’t aware of. The taxi took us straight to the water taxi jetty, with minimal waiting time. King Jamaica restaurant (12 minute walk) was fantastic and excellent value (the restaurant nearby was more expensive and nowhere near as nice). Kitchen plates and glasses were clean. Shower was okay. Washing machine and clothes airer a bonus (washing was dry in 30 minutes!). Host very communicative, with prompt responses and recommendations.

No windows, and no air conditioning in the lounge, made it feel very enclosed and stuffy. Towels were very small. Island sand-dust on the floor, but that’s to be expected.

The location was good but Ahmed turned out to be a scammer. He took the money from us in cash saying he didn't have a bank account and then told booking.com that I never checked in.

The bathroom drainage was clogged with hair. We had to clean all of it ourselves. Except one room, none of the rooms had windows. It was suffocating.

We have loved our stay in this guest house. The location first is so peaceful on the Elephantine island. The sunset on the rooftop is a moment we will never forget. The house is large and confortable and on top of everything Ahmed was so helpful during our stay. Always here for any questions or service. At anytime. U definitely recommend this address!

Amazing rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the Nile (especially at sunset). The entire staff including the owner, manager, and driver are super helpful not just with your stay but also making sure you get where you need to go after. Room is comfortable. Hotel is on quiet side of the island in the nature. They genuinely want to help you and made sure I got in the right bus on yeh way to my next destination (even offered to hold the room for me if the microbus didn’t work out). I’ll recommend this place to anyone staying in Aswan

The owner of this property was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The room was very spacious and clean.

The property is located on an island and is reached through a motorboat. Then, it requires climbing steep stone stairs. Hence, it is not preferable for the elderly or people who have trouble walking or climbing.

Armed was a good host, he helped us a lot during our stays, He arranged our tours and got us a nice guide during our tour to Nubien village, Unfinished Obelisk, high dam and Philae Temple. Thank you armed for your great hospitality .

The staff was very friendly, easy to reach when we needed something and always happy to help! Also the guy who was driving the boat was always on time and had a kind smile on his face. The view from the rooftop was great and I liked the location of the house as well (it was located on a little island, so you had to take the boat to visit different places).

When we arrived there was a strike, so there was no water in the house, but that was resolved in a couple hours. Also, the bathroom was a bit dirty.
