Sojourn Spa Hotel Ipoh

I had a pleasant stay at Sojourn Hotel Ipoh, and overall, I really like this hotel. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I also like the hotel's environment, which feels calm and comfortable, and smells so good. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I especially liked the shower, and the whole room was well-maintained and smelled very nice. It is the kind of room that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable staying in. One thing I really enjoyed was having the spa in the same building. It was very convenient, and the treatment was very relaxing. After a long day, it was nice not to have to travel elsewhere just to get a spa treatment. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. The room, cleanliness, environment and especially the friendly staff made a very good impression on me. I would consider staying here again, especially once the construction nearby is completed.

However, during my stay, there was construction work going on next to the hotel. The noise during the day was so loud that sometimes I did not feel like staying in the room. Of course, this is not entirely the hotel’s fault, but it did affect the comfort of the stay during the day. Parking is also quite limited. The hotel provides buggy service, and the staff are always ready to assist, which is very helpful. However, on rainy days, it can be quite a hassle to park farther away and rely on the buggy service. For breakfast, the choices are quite limited as you can only select from the available menu. It was okay for me, but I think having more choices would make the stay better.

Das Personal hat uns super freundlich empfangen und war während unseres Aufenthalts jederzeit sehr hilfsbereit. Im gesamten Hotel duftet es sehr angenehm nach ätherischen Ölen. Das Zimmer war sauber und gut ausgestattet, auch ein Haarfön war in der Ausstattung enthalten. Zum Hotel gehört auch ein Restaurant, wir waren dort sowohl zum Abendessen als auch zum Frühstück und waren beide Male sehr zufrieden. Die Karte ist ausschließlich asiatisch (auch beim Frühstück), uns hat das aber nicht gestört. Zudem wird im Hotel ein sehr entspannendes 7-Schritte-Spa Programm angeboten. Preis/Leistung Verhältnis ist unschlagbar.

La chambre etait ok pour un court sejour maiq sinon pas possible d'ouvrir les rideaux tant les vitres étaient sales. Le lit était peu confortable.

We did not eat the breakfast in the hotel, but overall the hotel was very clean, the rooftop garden was nice, and everything was safe and nice. There was no dust and the toilets were clean. The receptionists were polite, and the parking was not too packed.

Not sure whether this is a pro or a con honestly but the smell of lemongrass was very overpowering. As well as that, on the rooms with the stairs going up there was only 1 mattress. Maybe furnish it or make it more appealing. As well as that, the bathrooms are right underneath the stairs so it is a hazard to smack your head.

Cleanliness, hygiene and location.

Small window, no sunlight in the room, toilet and bath no divider, rendering it not convenient as the toilet is wet and slippery after shower.

we could walk down to the spa. breakfast was good choice of menu. staff were friendly staff were good to message us about a cable that we left behind.

room safe box not working. shower cubicle didn't hv a door, so it wet the outer chamber floor. telephone in room was not working. no TV no windows outlook. no hot water the next morning, for shower

Bella struttura con un buon livello di pulizia, personale gentile e disponibile.

La posizione è troppo fuori mano senza servizi vicini, disagevole anche andare a piedi. La colazione inclusa veramente deficitaria come quantità (non offrono nemmeno l’acqua) e dispone solo di offerte asiatiche. Il personale del ristorante poco gentile e disponibile.

If I could stay at all properties like this in the future, I would only be so happy. This is THE BEST hotel I have stayed in, in decades. The room was large, clean, well appointed. The staff was beyond helpful, kind and sweet. The double bedroom suite was spectacular. If I could live in this hotel, I would, and I very much enjoyed all the spa facilities, the staff was wonderful. I could not give it a higher rating.

The only extremely minor point is you do not have any way to do laundry.

Perfect location and nice Massage

We had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. After checking out, we left our luggage at the reception for temporary storage while we went out. When we returned to collect our bags, we were shocked to discover that our luggage had already been given to another guest. This was an extremely stressful situation, as our personal belongings were inside. We expected the hotel to have proper procedures for identifying and releasing stored luggage, but this serious mistake should never have happened. While the staff tried to resolve the issue, the incident caused us significant anxiety, wasted our time, and disrupted our travel plans. Hotels have a responsibility to keep guests’ belongings secure, and this experience left us feeling that our property was not handled with the care it deserved. I strongly urge the hotel to review its luggage storage and verification procedures and train its staff properly. No guest should have to experience the fear and inconvenience of having their belongings handed to someone else.

Very comfortable and relaxing environment with lemongrass aroma. The hotel is very clean. Massage is very relaxing too. Wonderful staying experience here.

A relaxing area which is not very crowded and the area is zen.

The room layout which the basin is in the room (not in the toilet) and the toilet is not a total closed area from the room… And the room’s light is quite dim which i supposed because it’s a zen place so the lighting is dim for you to be zen… however, this might not be suitable for a person who need to work a bit at the hotel…

Stayed June 7-8, 2026 in Room 111. Deluxe King Bed. Basic amenities provided. Refillable drinking water glass jar (a nice touch to reduce single use plastic bottles). A good location as it was only a 7-10 minutes drive from all the main attractions for Ipoh such as restaurants, convenience shops, hawker eateries. It was also quiet. I also enjoyed their Spa Massage treatment (which was separate cost from Room charge). Paid RM174.00 for their Pressure Point Massage for 75 minutes.

Perhaps the Air-conditioner needs to be serviced as it was not that cold, or either the room was too big for the air-conditioner to keep it cool. Not a major issue but a little discomfort.

On the first day, the hot water temperature was not satisfactory; however, after informing the front desk when we went out for dinner, the issue was promptly resolved by the time we returned. We appreciated and were satisfied with their quick response and service. We would also like to sincerely compliment the staff member who kindly brought an umbrella for us during the heavy rain on the first day, which was a very thoughtful gesture. In addition, the housekeeping service was excellent and very well maintained. We had forgotten to place the “Do Not Disturb” sign outside our door, so housekeeping proceeded with cleaning the room and everything was done neatly and non of our belongings were touched. We truly enjoyed the hotel’s spa ambience, which was very relaxing and pleasant throughout our stay. Lastly, we would like to express our appreciation to the front desk lady who assisted with our check-in. She was very kind and thoughtful in offering my partner some sweets to help calm his hiccups, and it went away within a few minutes before we went up to our room. We are grateful for her kindness and warm hospitality.

Upon arrival for check-in, we were not served any welcome drinks, unlike other guests who arrived after us, which gave us a slightly unpleasant feeling. The breakfast details were also not clearly explained. It was not a buffet as expected, but instead consisted of one meal and one drink per person from a very limited menu selection. We also had to pay an additional RM15.90 for two lemon waters and sandwiches, which was quite disappointing. For the price we paid, the room was also quite small and did not include a fridge. In addition, the TV settings had not been reset to English after the previous guest’s stay, as it was still set to Chinese. Although it was a smart TV, it was quite inconvenient for us to continuously search for our preferred channels throughout our stay. The complimentary 5-minute massage was also not offered to us. We went to the spa section immediately after check-in, but unfortunately we did not feel attended to, as the staff there seemed more focused on communicating with another customer instead of assisting us. Parking was also not very convenient due to the limited parking spaces available. When we returned late at night, we were instructed to park in front of the guard house instead. The air-conditioning was also not cold even when set to 16°C.

The television was giving problems. Need to call the technician to fix it, 3 times altogether. Always showed 'no signal' signage on the screen. The breakfast was just so so.

For those travelling for business purpose, have to consider taking with breakfast option because their breakfast is not like the common hotels, it starts at 8am. I waited till 8.11am, then they open the restaurant, and by the time the bfast reach its already 8.30am... so please do consider taking together their bfast option when booking.
