Elegant Hamlets Home Stay

This was our favorite stay of the trip! The place was just lovely in every way, and the owner and his wife were beautiful people! We would love to come back and spend a week there! It's a little away from all the happenings, but that was a plus for us.

Really couple, amazing dinner and breakfast and a really beautiful accomodation

Les propriétaires sont plus qu’adorables, nous avons rarement vu des personnes aussi gentilles et souriantes. Nous avons passé notre dernière nuit du voyage ici et honnêtement ce fut notre meilleure logement (piscine au milieu des plantes exotiques, grande chambre avec salle de bain privative comportant une grande douche, la meilleure literie de notre voyage). Et pour finir le petit déjeuner et le dîner étaient vraiment délicieux

Struttura molto accogliente e pulita. L’accesso all’uso esclusivo della piccola piscina da quel tocco in più. Stanze e bagno molto grandi e pulite con aria condizionata e ventilatore immersa nel verde. I padroni di casa sono meravigliosi! Molto accoglienti e premurosi! Le colazioni e le cene sono eccezionali e molto abbondanti! Abbiamo iniziato il nostro viaggio da qui e lo abbiamo terminato qui! Ci siamo sentiti a casa!

La gentillesse des Hôtes ! Le logement est très propre . Et la piscine est très appréciable. Un petit coin de paradis . Les repas préparés par les hôtes sont très bons et en grande quantités. Le prix des repas est très correct ! ! Nous reviendrons de sûr lors de notre passage dans la région !

A quiet sanctuary in a rural setting with a great pool. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. The amazing food was the best we had in Sri Lanka, and our hosts made our stay perfect. Organised and Tuk-Tuk to take us to chilaw and look around.

A very elegant bungalow in the quiet countryside. Ideal for a family vacation but perhaps a bit big for us, just a couple cycling through, and a bit remote from stores and restaurants.

We had an amazing stay at the elegant home stay. The accomodation is beautiful and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the outside area and pool. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly and the meal we ate in the evening was the best we have had so far ! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Nous avons tout adoré ! Sur un mois nous avons eu bcp de très beaux hôtels, mais celui ci est notre préféré ! Un havre de paix au cœur d’un jardin tropical, tenu par un couple adorable. La maison est magnifique avec sa petite piscine privative. Les dîners et petits déjeuners préparés par nos hôtes étaient succulents. Cerise sur le gâteau : un cour de cuisine pour apprendre à préparer les rôtis et le curry ! Génial. Une halte que nous recommandons chaudement.

Die Unterkunft ist super schön und sauber! Ein toller Ort um sich wohl zu fühlen und sich zu erholen. Die Gastgeber sind so wahnsinnig nett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend! Sehr liebe Menschen mit denen wir tolle Gespräche hatten. Sie haben uns auch einen tollen Ausflug mit einem Tuktuk in die Umgebung spontan organisiert. Das Essen war einfach ein Traum! Einfach nur lecker! Alles in allem kann man diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen und wenn man mehr Sterne vergeben könnte dann hätte diese Unterkunft sie verdient!

Erg prettig huisje, leuk om met een gezin te verblijven. Het huisje was schoon en staat in een mooi aangelegde tuin met voldoende privacy. Vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaren. Ze hadden ook nog een leuk tripje bij diverse bezienswaardigheden in de regio voor ons geregeld. Ontbijt en diner was top.

Alles was perfect. Hele lieve eigenaren en super mooi huisje in een prachtige tuin. Perfecte plek om te ontspannen en heerlijk eten. We hadden tijdens het avondeten verteld dat mijn vriend de volgende dag jarig zou zijn, toen we bij het ontbijt aankwamen stonden ze klaar met taart en werd er voor hem gezongen. Zou deze plek aan iedereen aanbevelen. Ook een heerlijk bed.

Wir sind direkt vom Flughafen ins Hamlet gefahren, um erstmal ein paar Tage runterzukommen, bevor die eigentliche Reise startet. Man kann kaum einen besseren Ort dafür finden als das Hamlet, dass von einem herzlichen und liebenswerten Ehepaar geführt wird. Es gibt nur einen Bungalow - ihr seid also allein auf dem gesamten Grundstück. Das Ehepaar verbreitet eine wunderbare Atmosphäre und hilft bei allen Fragen und Problemen. Wenn ihr das "echte" Sri Lanka erleben wollt, geht ihr einfach mal vor die Tür - hier gibt es keine weiteren Touristen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist ein Ausflug nach Chilaw (Bootfahrt in die Mangroven, Fischmarkt, Tempel, sehr gutes Masala Dosa) mit dem Tuktuk. Vielen Dank nochmals für eure Gastfreundschaft!

Nous avons adoré notre nuit ici , la maison est charmante et le jardin très joli avec sa petite piscine. L endroit est parfait pour s' arrêter nous alliions au parc wilpattu. Et la halte ici , est parfaite .dîner et petit déjeuner, très bon , on recommande. Mais c'est surtout la gentillesse des hôtes qui nous a marqué . Bravo bonne continuation

The comfort of the house, the friendliness of the family and the wonderful home-cooked food. This is truly a gem. The 'homestay' is in reality a lovely house with all the comfort you can think of, including a small private pool. The house is built in the - huge - yard of the family, but everything is geared towards your privacy. The host Sherry is a wonderful cook, and can teach you everything on Sri Lankan food. Her husband can arrange for trips and further transport. Definitely the best place we've stayed in in Sri Lanka.

This accommodation is very special and we felt like we were in an oasis of calm. The pool was perfect, the house is in a beautiful garden among coconut palms. The mini house is very well equipped for European style (we very much appreciated the separate shower). We really haven't found a single mistake. Too bad we only stayed one night, it was probably the best accommodation we had in Sri Lanka for a month.

Lots of chlorine in the pool, but we understand that maintenance is challenging in Sri Lankan conditions.

We LOVED our stay at Elegant Hamlets. Don't be fooled by the name.... it is one hamlet that is totally for you and your guests to enjoy. You are positioned away from the hosts and it feels like you are in your own private oasis. Our hosts were extraordinary, going out of their way to make sure absolutely everything was perfect. Breakfast was lovely and served in the gorgeous outdoor kitchen area. We made good use of the plunge pool..... just right for those humid Sri Lankan days. Our stay was far enough away from the busy areas but close enough that we were able to go out exploring in the area and return home easily. If you are looking for amazing hosts, a quiet haven away from everyone and for a gorgeous hamlet to relax in, then this is the place for you. You will not be disappointed.

We had an extraordinary stay at Elegant Hamlets Home Stay. The accommodation is one large A framed villa that is set in a beautiful and peaceful garden. Privacy is key!!!! Even though you are right beside the owners in their own house, your villa faces away from the owners' property and is in its own yard. Step out into your private garden and enjoy your very own small plunge pool... perfect for those hot and humid Sri Lankan days and nights. The pool area also has numerous options for seating and enjoying the pool area. Inside, the villa certainly exudes its own charm, with an upstairs mezzanine containing 2 single beds. We were met with a cool, refreshing juice and indulged in breakfast each morning which was very tasty. Our tuk tuk was happily parked under the covered carport and the detached kitchen area, containing everything you need to do your own cooking OR a great place to indulge in breakfast, was an added bonus. Overall, the facilities offered were outstanding, as were our hosts. This was our favourite stay in Sri Lanka!!

We loved the tranquil garden, beautiful modern clean architectural “A” frame guest house and separate dining pavilion. Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were exquisite Sri Lankan cuisine. The plunge pool was welcome to cool in before dinner and breakfast. Comfiest beds and pillows in Sri Lanka! We will come again!

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay. The apartment is cozy, and the pool access with a private area and garden adds to the charm. It’s a peaceful and comfortable place. The hosts, Nerantha and his wife, are fantastic, they make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The food is delicious, prepared and served with love and passion.

Very nice and attentive host. Despite the pouring rain, he welcomed us in a friendly and very helpful manner. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and served in a small pavilion. The pool is small but it is enough to cool off in.

The weather

Everything! The location, the facilities, the food, the hosts. It was beyond our expectations.

There is absolutely nothing to not like besides not being able to spend longer there.

This looked too good to be true I nearly didn’t choose it. And it was just what my heart and soul needed. Lying outside alone in nature with the sound of beautiful birds and swishing coconut trees, with tropical butterflies flitting around. The most lovely hosts and the most wonderful food cooked just for me. The love they put into everything is so wonderful. Thank you so much 🙏✨🌸

This stylish, charming homestay is exceptional, from its beautiful design and garden ( with wonderful birdsong) to the conviviality of our delightful host and hostess who served delicious, homemade food. This place is paradise. 10/10 on everything. We kept being surprised, by even the smallest things in the private house. It is fabulous and clean, there are perfect towels, good shower everything is clean and nice. On top of this the hosts are so nice. We had a home cooked meal which was the best food we ate in Sri Lanka and such nice welcome and tips and information for the rest of our trip. Thank you both for the wonderfull stay!

A hidden paradise surrounded by greenary. Spotless clean luxury chalet with a private pool with jacuzzi. Super friendly host & delicious food. Ideal place to spend some quality time with privacy away from busy routine life. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended

Location is bit away from the main city. But its worth traveling that few kilometers to reach this amazing place. You wont regret it for sure

Amazing place to stay if you need to stop between Colombo & Wilpattu. Sherrie & Chamara are amazing people. The room was beautiful, clean, modern and spacious with a second bed on a mezzanine. Dinner was amazing the hosts even showed us how they prepared the meal. Breakfast was also a great experience and yummy!

The accommodation is not near a town, but for us it was well worth it the detour.

Room was amazing.Comfy, nice environment with privacy. Host were very approachable and helpful. Home cooking food was superb tasty. If you looking for relax and feels home I would recommend to stay here.Best place ,friendly host & good food. 10/10

The journey from the airport is an hour if there's no traffic .. but it's worth it

This was an amazing place to stay. Our first night after collecting our Tuktuk. It was great to cool off in the pool and then enjoy a divine home cooked Sri Lankan dinner. Enjoyed chatting with our hosts over dinner and breakfast - learnt so much. It’s a beautiful property, super clean and very well furnished. One of our best booking.com places ever!!

A very tranquil place, the green surroundings, the space in the room and the hospitality of the owners.

Nothing, maybe there could be a sign at the gate so that guests know they are in the right place: we did not recognize we were already there and first cycled a little further. Fortunately someone showed us the way.

The place is amazing and so peaceful. It has everything you need!

Couldn’t fault it

A calm and quiet environment. Adjacent to the house but able to enjoy the freedom without any disturbance. Great value for money. There is also an outside dining and coffee making area. The rooms on two floors are of luxury quality. Highly recommend.

Amenities, staff, and the design of the space

WiFi was not consistent

The meals were good and reasonably priced. The location was very peaceful something that suited my purpose of staying at Madampe. I was traveling as a speaker for a conference and this location gave me that quietness for preparations for the meeting.

The WIFI did not properly work and they did not have a square pin plug base for the phone charger.

Everything was perfect! Room, food, the family...We was very happy to found such a beautiful place. It was like a little paradise. For the way from Colombo to Anuradhampura it is the perfect stop to sleep.
