Super lief echtpaar. En tot nu toe het lekkerst gegeten na een dikke week Sri Lanka. Het is een fijne plek om even te relaxen. Was voor ons een doorreis plek, maar we hadden spijt dat we niet iets langer hadden geboekt. Huisje is schoon en netjes. Airco werkte naar behoren. Het is niet super luxe, maar daar zijn wij ook niet naar op zoek. De weg er naar toe is alleen al de moeite waard.

Su di esso sono state già spese abbondanti parole di elogio, e questa mia recensione sarebbe solamente l’ennesima copia di tutte le altre prima di me. Posso solamente dirvi che se siete in Sri Lanka e sentite il desiderio di allontanarvi da tutto per entrare in contatto con voi stessi, questo è il luogo ideale. I proprietari ed il loro staff saranno compagni ideali per questo viaggio nell’introspezione e nella pace interiore.

Eddie and his colleagues. Eddie is a charming host who looked after us and made us feel welcome and relaxed. The property is the perfect place to relax with its beach, pool, coconut palms and mangrove river view from the balcony.

Mooie ruime kamer met eigen terras/ balkon. Er is een zwembad om af te koelen. Het resort is kleinschalig en is gelegen op een prachtige, rustige locatie dicht bij een natuurpark. Het personeel en de eigenaar zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam en het diner was uitstekend. Echt een aanrader om tot rust te komen en te genieten van de natuur.

A wonderful welcome from the whole team and a splendid setting between the ocean and the lagoon. This was an very surprising oasis of calm and tranquility. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay, this is the place. Very comfortable rooms , excellent food and exemplary hospitality from all the family led team. No bright lights, no background music, this is the destination for a really relaxing stay. We were surprised by the effectiveness of an apparently simple establishment which had everything needed for very pleasant and relaxing stay. The large clean swimming pool was a delightful bonus.

The apparently remote setting might deter some, but if a really restful stay in a lovely hotel, run with huge care and attention by the whole team is what you are after, this is the place for you.

Our stay at this family hotel was truly special. Thanks to the wonderful team, we felt completely at home from the very first day. This is the perfect place to recharge and recover after busy working days. You can simply relax, switch off, and not worry about anything — everything is thoughtfully organized for you by the friendly and caring hotel team. The food was absolutely delicious and prepared personally for us at very reasonable prices. We especially loved that you can order according to your own taste — whether you prefer authentic flavorful curry or European dishes. The rooms were very clean, and housekeeping was done regularly, which made our stay even more comfortable. We stayed for 6 days and honestly wished we could stay longer. We would love to come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, warmth, great food, and genuine hospitality.

The hosts were friendly and made sure that when i was going to home that i was getinto the right path to the main road. As i was lost my way while i was comming to the property. Good breakfast and dinner. It is very peace ful location and stunning sea view and coconut trees. It was treat to my eyes. You can do bird watching as the property back yard river goes..i saw black hooded orioel, group of peafowl, king fisher, bea eatet, kind of sea eagle etc.. You can watch the sea view sunset from the property.

Marine road is sand road. It causes confusion.

Lovely peaceful place by the beach and river. Brilliant for bird watching! Such a sweet family who were very kind and helped me arrange transport. Food was good. The lodges were spacious and clean with amazing river views from the balcony. I sat watching all the wildlife and had a great time. Close to a bird wetland habitat. Large sized pool great for exercise. Would stay again.

Is it possible to change to paper straws?

De gastvrijheid van de lieve mensen van het Twin Waters Resort is fantastisch. Daarnaast maken ze heerlijke gerechten en ligt het resort op een mooie plek met aan de ene kant de rivier en aan de andere kant het strand met de zee. De kamer is ruim, schoon en voorzien van een airco en een douche met warm water. Het zwembad is ook mooi groot en prachtig met de palmbomen eromheen. Er is in de omgeving niet zoveel te doen, maar het is een heerlijke plek om lekker te ontspannen!

When you look quiet place for relax, you can not choose better. Our host Eddie and his team is so kind and helpful ! We enjoyed breakfast and dinner, it was really delicious. Location is perfect, you can watch so many animals. I can highly reccommend !

I'm not sure I can explain how special this property is. When driving toward it on the beach road you might think you made a wrong turn past the wildlife sanctuary. It is situated on a remote stretch of beach where you can walk for miles without seeing others. On the back side of the property, a tranquil lagoon teaming with unmatched bird life that can entertain you for hours. The moment you arrive time seems to no longer matter. Your bungalow has two balconies so you can enjoy sunrise and sunset and always have a spot in the shade. The swimming pool is perfection and the air is fresh. This is truly a retreat from any chaos you might experience in life. It is not fancy. The beds are as comfortable as any five star resort, and wonderful authentic Sri Lankan food served with love are highlights. But, I must say, the most treasured time at Twin Waters was time spent with Eddie. He went out of his way on all levels to make us feel like we were the most welcomed people in his home.

There is nothing we didn't like. We did not want to leave and would go back in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a unique beach stay, away from the southern crowds and umbrella drinks, this is so lovely. It is important to know that there are no attractions or restaurants close by. We spent our time enjoying birdlife, watching the fishermen bring in their catch-of-the-day, swimming, reading, writing, etc.

La situation géographique entre mer et lagune est extraordinaire. Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien équipées et munies de deux terrasses. Le piscine et magnifique. Le famille hôte est très gentille.

Les repas servis au restaurant sont bons néanmoins nous trouvions la carte trop restreinte. Pas de choix au petit déjeuner.

The moment we arrived we knew we would be very well looked after. The setting is idyllic, with the Indian ocean less than a minute's walk and a beautiful bird sanctuary lagoon right behind the accommodation. The team at this Hotel were wonderful hardworking hosts who all made our stay very special indeed.

An excellent, relaxing place to start our holiday. A wildlife paradise between the ocean and the lagoon, the accomodation was immaculate, Eddie and his family are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, they even made us sandwiches to keep for lunchtime.The food was superb. I wish we had stayed longer!

This place was absolute paradise. We used it as a means to decompress after a very busy 3 weeks travelling the country. The family, headed up by Eddie, were the nicest and friendliest people we had met during our visit. They could not do enough for you and they were happy and genuinely interested to hear about you and your adventures. The food was delicious and the scenery was just absolute picture postcard level. It defied belief it was that beautiful. Their vision for this place and the vibe they sought for people to just slow down was wonderful. This is NOT the place for people looking to be busy. The beach was lovely and the overlooking river with birdlife was breathtaking. We saw mongoose and so much bird life. Absolute slice of heaven.

If you are lucky enough to find a vacancy at this resort grab it quickly. Absolutely faultless stay in this amazing place. The setting between lagoon and sea is incredible, the people who own and manage it are kind and interesting, they will do anything to help your stay be memorable. The rooms are great and spotless with balconies looking out over the lagoon. Its quiet but Tultuls are available to local shops and restaurants but we ate there every evening because the food is very special. Easy to get to by taxi from the airport. The infinity swimming pool overlooking the lagoon is large and kept clean. We enjoyed meeting the locals and helping the fisherman land their catch. We have already booked another stay, we are going back.

Absolutely nothing

Everything about this place was exceptional. The location is stunning and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and the property itself is beautifully designed and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The food was delicious, fresh, and varied. Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing and luxurious — easily the best accommodation we stayed at in Sri Lanka.

Great location with balcony view of lagoon and all the wildlife. Chalets were very comfortable, spacious and clean. Swimming pool was lovely and a good size. To top it off the beach was at the end of the garden. Perfect!

We wanted somewhere to just relax at the beginning of our month-long adventure in Sri Lanka after a few very stressful weeks. We chose Twin Waters as a place in the middle of nowhere to listen to the birds and ocean. It did not disappoint. Eddie and his family were a joy to stay with and offer a unique hospitality experience. Extremely comfortable and clean rooms. Great pool. What an incredible way to start our adventure in Sri Lanka. Amazing bird life too.

Nothing - it was exactly what we wanted. Remote but not too far from anywhere we wanted to visit.

My partner and I had the best time here. A truly beautiful location with the beach literally on your doorstep. Definitely a place to completely relax and get away from the noise of the cities. Eddie and his family made us feel instantly at home with their hospitality and delicious cooking. So glad we came here even if it was for only 1 night. Hopefully have the chance to come back in the future!

That we didn't book a longer stay

Если пойти гулять по дороге через заповедник можно увидеть обезьян, мангустов, варанов. В отеле несколько домиков, очень тихо и много персонала на небольшое количество гостей. Готовят огромные порции, довольно вкусно (по меркам Шри Ланки). Большой и красивый бассейн с видами и на океан и на реку. Номер нормальный, насекомых внутри нет.

В радиусе километра есть пара киосков с минимальным ассортиментом, но ближайший нормальный магазин в часе ходьбы, кафе тем более. PickMe/Uber из этого отеля не заберет (но персонал может позвонить заказать туктук)

Wir wurden so herzlich aufgenommen und der Service war umwerfend. Nachmittags wurde uns eine Kokosnuss auf das Zimmer gebracht. Das Curry abends war super lecker. Die Lage direkt am Strand einmalig. Man muss es allerdings mögen, dass man ziemlich abgeschieden ist. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Frukosten var riklig och mycket god. Mycket vänlig och välkomnade atmosfär. Värdparet var otroligt tillmötesgående och hjälpsamma. All personal var mycket vänlig. Maten var utsökt. Omgivningarna väldigt fridfulla och vi njöt av det rika fågellivet och strandpromenaderna.

De service was echt geweldig. Er werd ontzettend goed met ons meegedacht om het voor ons en onze kleine kinderen zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken.

We spent our first night in Sri Lanka at Twin Waters Resort. It is beautifully tucked away, so peace and silence are guaranteed. We had the beach completely to ourselves, and the pool area is also a wonderful place to relax. The bungalows are very spacious and clean, and the view from the veranda over the river, combined with the sounds of nature, is simply magical. The absolute highlight of this place are the hosts, Edward and Manel. They are incredibly warm and welcoming and speak very good English, as they lived in England for many years. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and clearly prepared with great care and love. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for tranquility and genuinely kind company.

Eine kleine Oase an der weniger touristischen Küste des Landes. Tolle Appartements mit Balkonen, die zum Entspannen einladen mit Blick auf den Fluss. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Herzlichkeit der lieben Gastgeber. Wir haben uns von Anfang an willkommen und wohl gefühlt. Man kann im Meer zwar nicht schwimmen aber dafür gibt es den schönen Pool umgeben von Palmen. Das lokale, frisch gekochte Abendessen auf der Veranda ist ein Genuss! Danke für die schöne Zeit und auf ein Wiedersehen! Die Unterkunft war ein Highlight auf unserer Reise!

Twin Waters Resort is a true hidden gem, defined by the warm and genuine hospitality of the engaging couple who own it! They made us feel instantly welcome with a refreshment and throughout our stay they engaged with us in such a pleasant manner. The setting is spectacular, offering breathtaking views of the lagoon, which is a haven for wildlife. We enjoyed the sight of majestic eagles and many varieties of beautiful birds flying overhead. Our chalet was very comfortable: the room was spotlessly clean, and we especially loved relaxing in the comfortable chairs on the terrace. We also like to highlight the food. The Sri Lankan Rice and Curry dinner was very tasty!! Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace, nature, and heartfelt hospitality!

Twin Waters has a fabulous remote location on a plot of land that has the Indian Ocean on one side and an inland lagoon on the other. My bungalow (one of four) over looked the lagoon with a wonderful view and nature all around. There is nothing to disturb the quiet except the sound of waves on the shore. My hosts were very attentive and helpful and the bungalow was spotlessly clean.

Tolle ruhige Lage, sehr freundliche und bemühte Gastgeber. Leckeres Abendessen und Frühstück. Wunderschöne Ausblicke aus dem Zimmer. Eines der besten Hotels während unserer Reise (wenn auch etwas preisintensiver). Es lohnt sich. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Twin Waters war unsere erste Unterkunkft auf Sri Lanka und wir wurden wie Freunde aufgenommen. Das Essen war super, die Besitzer sind super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Es war eine ideale Einstimmung auf das Land. Danke dafür!

The pool was beautiful with views of the sea and lagoon and I enjoyed a 7.30am swim before breakfast. We happened to be the only guests staying as it’s very much low season, and Eddie and his family made us feel like honoured house guests. Lovely food - we particularly enjoyed all the vegetable dishes, curries prepared with 2 different spice levels, milk rice with kithul treacle, scrambled eggs and all the fresh fruit. Lagoon view from our chalet terrace was a real plus. A great place to relax, swim and read.

The beach in front is littered with plastic - this is common throughout Sri Lanka unfortunately.

We really enjoyed our stay with Eddie and the team and felt very welcomed by them. Ideally located up the west coast on the way to Kalpitiya peninsula and Wilpattu. So a good location on way to those locations or on way to the airport. There is a train station ten minutes away and hotel arranged a TukTuk for us. Hotel has a large swimming pool, it was on the beach. A short TukTuk away is a bird sanctuary which was great. Accommodation small bungalows was clean, with large rooms looked out over a lagoon with balconies. Breakfasts were large - fruit, eggs then Sri Lankan. It was so big they offered to keep and reserve it for lunch at no extra charge We would happily return

De locatie was schitterend, maar de eigenaren waren het hart van de locatie.

Wij hebben deze plek gekozen om direct naar toe te reizen vanuit Negombo. Dit was echt een perfect plan. Het is namelijk een heerlijke plek om je vakantie rustig te beginnen (of te eindigen) omdat het redelijk dicht bij Negombo ligt (en dus bereisbaar na een lange vlucht), maar je wel in alle rust zit. Het ontvangst is super hartelijk en iedereen is super lief en behulpzaam. Special thanks to Eddie! Het eten was ook heerlijk. We hebben echt genoten. In augustus was de zee ruig, maar wij vonden dat juist super om in te zwemmen. Er is een heerlijk zwembad en een mooi vogelreservaat vlak bij. Goed om rekening te houden me het feit dat er verder niet super veel te doen is. Maar dat was voor ons juist perfect.

La serviabilité de l'équipe : ils se sont levés a 3h30 pour notre départ pour nous passer des breakfast box et nous dire au revoir. Piscine très agréable, oiseaux et quelques autres animaux visibles dans le jardin. Belle vue sur le lac depuis les terrasses.

Hôtel assez cher par rapport au reste du Sri Lanka.

Prachtige plek voor ons om de vakantie in Sri Lanka af te sluiten. De bungalow was perfect, heel ruim, goede badkamer en terras met uitzicht de lagune. Prachtig zwembad 'with a view'. Heerlijk ontbijt, lunch en diner. Maar vooral de attente eigenaren en hun staff waren uitstekend.

Dat niet meer mensen dit resort bezoeken. Zelfs buiten het seizoen is dit een heerlijke plek.

Het personeel van Twin Water Resort was zo enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten was heerlijk. De accommodatie was erg schoon, ruim en het zwembad heerlijk. Mooi gelegen tussen zee en rivier. Veel mooie vogels in het reservaat dichtbij maar ook in de tuin van het resort.

Niets. Er is afgezien van het vogelreservaat niet superveel te doen in de buurt maar dat wisten we en was een bewuste keuze.

First impressions weren't great but we quickly learnt that this is a very special place and it provided the perfect end to our 24-day family holiday to Sri Lanka. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves so it was very peaceful and relaxing. The chalets had HUGE bedrooms of a Western standard - the best accommodation we experienced. The location nestled between the lagoon and the ocean was unique. We received excellent hospitality and genuine kindness from all the staff, including Eddie, his wife and Luke. The swimming pool and all meals were great. We would recommend it as a quiet alternative to Negombo at the start or end of your trip.

It was a shame that we visited during Monsoon and so we couldn't swim in the sea. Also there was a huge amount of plastic litter on the beach. We knew all this in advance so we weren't shocked or disappointed.

Twin waters is a great place to relax. The chalets are clean, spacious and comfortable. The veranda overlooks the river, a great place to chill. Nice pool too. The property is in a quiet location, perfect for birdwatching at the nearby wetlands. Eddie, a very gracious man and his family, along with Luke and Nisak made our stay even the more enjoyable. The food was delicious, the servings generous and some of the best we’ve had during our six week stay in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended if you want to chill out and relax.

The owner is really friendly and he helped us with eyerthing. The room was really nice and very clean. Eddie was the best we loved him. The view from our balcony was amazing, you could watch so many birds its in a Nationalpark with Mangroves. The Mangroves right and the Sea on the left.

Excellent location, peaceful and off the beaten track. Absolutely ideal for those who wish to go back to nature, see the(real) Sri Lanka amongst the friendly villagers. The chalet was clean and comfortable with easy access to the nearby bird sanctuaries. The meals were excellent and well presented. The swimming pool was a bonus

Good quiet location and very friendly people..

Hard to know where to start, the property is run by an interesting multi-lingual family who genuinely do everything to make sure you have a great stay. The property is amazing, the lagoon to the front would be enough to make it amazing but turn 180 degrees and the sea and gorgeous beach is just there. It is not hard to get to, £25 taxi from the airport and when you are there why not hire a Tuk Tuk for your stay as I did, organised by the Resort, and Im 72 years old. We drove miles in it. The food is excellent, our only complaint that they kept trying to give us too much, they are so kind. We had breakfast and dinner there every day. The chalets are spotless, large and comfortable. Nearby, the fishermen bring the nets in and welcome any help you can give them to help unload the fish from the nets into the pickups, great fun. The pool is excellent, it is large and overlooks the lagoon. Then there are the birds, absolutely amazing, the resort is next to a bird sanctuary, we saw so many different coloured birds, bring a bird identifier book. The local people are so friendly and smiley, we met and talked with them every day when we went for a walk. We had such a great time here, all in all a great experience.

absolutely nothing could improve our stay. To be fair, I would say if your looking for bars, different restaurants and a lively time this resort is not for you. If your looking for an interesting, beautiful and quiet resort this is the one.

We spent a few wonderful days at Twin Waters, hosted by Andrew, and the experience was simply magical. Nestled between the river and the sea—less than 100 meters apart—the place is a true haven of peace, surrounded by stunning nature. The nearby village offers an authentic glimpse of local life: fishermen, unpaved streets, children’s dance classes, a small church… And just 2 km away, the bird sanctuary is a true gem for nature lovers. Starting at 6 a.m., the sky comes alive with the graceful flight of beautiful birds—an unforgettable sight. The chalets are well spaced out, offering total privacy. The meals, both Sri Lankan and European-inspired, are delicious and lovingly prepared by Andrew’s attentive team. The staff are incredibly caring, and the fellow guests we met were warm and inspiring, adding even more magic to the stay. A true hidden gem, a timeless escape. Without hesitation: 10/10.

Edward and his family were the gentlest of people who cared so much about our stay and comfort. Nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel is sensational bordered on one side by a lake full of wildlife and on the other by the sea with a beautiful and very empty beach. Dinner was delicious and my wife still raves about her curry. Fully recommend...

The mosquitos. Bring repellent and you'll be fine.

A beautiful place, away from the noise and busy streets. Perfect for relaxation. Beautiful surroundings, a view of the ocean from the resort restaurant, and a view of the lagoon from the terrace of the house. The room is large, comfortable, European standard. The owner is cheerful, friendly and very talkative, but also imposing. The resort literally borders on a long, beautiful beach. The area is also a fantastic place for bird watching. a place worth recommending

Genuinely hospitable and lovely family running this very comfortable boutique operation in a peaceful location between the bird sanctuary and the beach. Food was excellent. Definitely recommended.

The hotel is stunning—quiet, serene, and perfect for relaxation. The infinity pool was a highlight, offering the ideal spot to unwind, and my room was impeccably clean with an amazing view of the tranquil lake behind the property. This place was perfect for relaxing, meditating, and regaining my energy before continuing my travels. Manel and Luke’s cuisine was absolutely delicious, Eduard’s warm and welcoming conversations made me feel right at home, and the entire team truly went above and beyond to ensure my stay exceeded all expectations. I genuinely felt spoiled by everyone at Twin Waters Resort. The level of care and service was remarkable.
