Reviewed Sep 18, 2026お風呂にゆっくり浸かることもできて、大斎原の大鳥居も2階のバルコニーから見え、お部屋にもTVがあり、のびのびできました。 周りにお店が少なく、閉まるのが早い地域なので、キッチンにスナック類やちょっとした食物、ビールなどが、良心的なお値段で用意されていたのが、有難かったです。 ホストさんも親切です！

It really helped me rest in between hikes, the guesthouse is so comfortable, well-organised and homely. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well. Really good value for money and great location.

A bit remote, on the top of a hill. Bring.drinks, food etc.. Watch out little restaurants or convenience stores in the village. Be prepared.

Tout est bien expliqué, donc on ne voit la propriétaire qu'au check in. Ce n'est pas un point négatif, on a l'impression d'avoir la maison pour soi.

The lady in the adjacent room made a call at around bedtime and on speaker phone! I could clearly hear their conversation so I moved to the living room but I could still hear them. It lasted around 30 minutes. I wish the staff told all guests about being quiet during bedtime.

Reviewed Jun 5, 2026温浴施設や本宮大社に近い 近所の飲食店の夜が早いが、キッチンにパンやインスタント麺などの長期保存食のミニバーが設置されているので、とりあえず食べるものには困らないこと（もしミニバーにバナナとか柑橘類とかリンゴとか日持ちしそうなフルーツがあったら嬉しいかも。ホストが日常食として購入した物の一部を食べる前に置くとか）ホストがとても親切な人でした。天気がよければ星空も綺麗だと思う。
神社からかなり急な坂道を登らないと着かない点。地図でもこれば見抜けなかった。

Reviewed May 27, 2026It had everything for someone hiking in the area. The owner Sanae was so nice and helpful. She helped me get a short notice liggage transfer which allowed me to finish off the Kumano Kodo with ease.
The stairs... but only because I had hiked 27km. The 2nd floor was really nice and had a balcony area.

A la llegada me recibió Yui, una mujer muy amable, me explica todo y me lleva a mi pieza con una vista increíble al gran Tori! Realmente hermoso! ♥️

Reviewed Apr 21, 2026住宿環境與公共空間溫馨，讓人像在朋友家作客般自在放鬆。有一間衛浴以及一間廁所，四個房間的房客需要排隊輪流使用。老闆娘サナエさん回覆訊息迅速且親切，讓人倍感安心。特別感謝サナエさん積極協助尋回登山杖，甚至專程開車穿梭在街頭尋找我們，最終讓我們在路途中順利領回，這份溫情讓我們的旅程充滿感動！ : )

Reviewed Apr 12, 2026老闆非常熱情，當天下雨，衣服、鞋子都濕了。老闆就拿出烘鞋機，協助我叫鞋子弄乾。房子裡附有投幣洗衣機、烘衣機，剛好可以整理我的衣服，且有販賣一些麵包、泡麵，給當天腳痛無法出門買晚餐的我很大的幫助。房間很大，有很大的地板供我拉拉筋。
隔音不好，介意的人可能不適合。我的房間與隔壁房間相鄰，所以隔壁睡覺、起床時間我都知道。房間對外拉門雖然有簾子，但是天亮了，房間也跟著亮了。採光非常好呢！

They have packets of curries on sale so you can easily cook dinner. I didn't realise I didn't close the glass door / window so I slept comfortably without turning on the AC. I would wonder if it gets colder because that glass isn't going to keep out the cold.
It is a walk up a slope - short one, but at the end of the Kumano Kodo, any slope would elicit a groan.. lol

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026Sanae is a wonderful host and the rooms are large and spacious - some with outdoor balconies. There is an onsen not far from the guesthouse (600 yen).
The bathroom is down the steep stairs so can be dangerous at night. There is a washer and dryer although the cost is the same as the major hotel chains and the dryer takes forever to dry your clothes. The location is a bit far from the bus center and at the top of a steep hill.

Reviewed Mar 19, 2026I loved staying at Sanae, she is a perfect host, very considerate. In the house everything is very clean, organized and well marked in English with explanations for people who don't read in Japanese, at night it's silent outside – the house has a very relaxing atmosphere and it's well heated in the wintertime / air-conditioned in the summer. The house is right next to a very nice public bath, it's close to other onsens in the area, restaurants and small shops are in walking distance and overall it's a great place to stay after a long Kumano Kodo walk!

Reviewed Mar 12, 2026This is 1 of the neatest and cool places to stay in, despite having to conquer a deep slope to get to it. There is a shower cum bathtub room that one can enjoy using privately. They also have packaged food to sell at affordable prices, like instant noodles, rice, muffins and more. It's near the bid torii gate, in fact you can see the side of it from the top of the house.
Other than the slope up and down to it, nothing else.

Is one of those rare fines that has a really good price from a really nice host that was very helpful with my questions in the beginning when I got there, she was waiting for me. I had access to the kitchen seating area. My room had a nice view I had hiked from Chiksukuya to Hongu and all the guests were very respectful I got a good night sleep and I continued my hiking. I would stay here again.

Reviewed Dec 24, 2025民宿設施齊全，距離本宮步行約 5 分鐘，從民宿甚至還能看到大齋原的鳥居，地點相當方便。貼心的民宿主人在廚房準備了投幣式的泡麵和麵包，對住客來說非常實用。
需要爬上一段陡坡才能抵達，若是拉行李箱前往會稍微不便。

Reviewed Dec 4, 2025Nice location and very quiet. I had a very good sleep. The kitchen is well equipped and I appreciated the snacks I could purchase when everything was closed in Hongu already. The views from the house are wonderful.
The bathroom could do with a little renovation and the stink of the toilet didn't ever go away. My room felt like a hospital room, especially the beds, and I was a bit envious of other rooms that had a proper door. This one had a sliding door that didn't give me the feel of privacy. Still, I had a good sleep but for the same price I got pure luxury in Shingu for example.
