Norlande

Norlande is only a short walk from the town, waterfront and bus station. I liked that there was a good range of saucepans and a teapot. I used the washing machine which was easy to use and the small load dried quickly on the rack. Everyone I met in Shetland was incredibly friendly and helpful. I loved visiting St Ninian's and would also recommend the Textile Museum (even though I am not a knitter) and the Shetland Museum both in Lerwick.

Location excellent, nice room(St Ninians), clean and well equipped with iron, microwave, fan and a choice of pillow types. Excellent on street free parking availability.

Everything- the property was outstanding in terms of comfort, cleanliness and catered to everything we could possibly have needed. Amanda is a lovely host and it was a pleasure to have met her. We would certainly come back.

Norlande is a beautiful old property in central Lerwick with a wonderful host, Amanda. So clean and warm, a really lovely place to stay and even provided a freshly store led breakfast hamper in the room with all sorts of goodies. Tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a little capsule coffee machine in my compact but sweet little top floor room.

The room I stayed at was quite small, but for the price I paid it was a great deal. Everything else was perfect, and the room was very well set up to utilize the space available.

Very clean comfortable accommodation, excellent value and in a really handy location for evenings in Lerwick or onward journeys in the morning.

Breakfast wasn’t great - all pre-packed. We didn’t have a way to speak to anyone about the property. Decor not to our taste.

La chambre " st ninian s " est très belle, spacieuse, agréable avec une belle salle d eau. Bonne litterie. Très calme, parking gratuit dans la rue bien pratique. Bon emplacement permettant la visite de la ville.

Le petit déjeuner dans une corbeille tous les matins. A oublier.... gâteaux sous plastique, croissant sous plastique immangeable, confitures industrielles dans des barquettes.....bref a éviter absolument.

Lovely small guest house in a quiet neighbourhood within easy walking distance from bus station and centre of town. Had beautiful room with a four-poster bed! Fridge and continental breakfast in room was a nice surprise! Host was very accommodating with my early arrival and late departure and even gave me a lift to the ferry!

Norlande is close to the town centre, bus and ferry transport points, supermarkets and eateries. There are also a number of points of interest nearby. Amanda was approachable, warm and friendly, and always happy to help!

Breakfast was ok, but not so good for diabetics as it was all very sweet / sugary.

I was working in Lerwick for a couple of days. Norlande was spotlessly clean, fresh, comfortable and quite. The chickens were my neighbours, and great neighbours they were.

The location might be difficult for the less able as the walk from town is largely uphill

The bed is very comfortable and beautiful. The room is spacious and quiet. The bathroom is huge and the shower is modern. Everwhere is very clean. The house is near bus stop from the airport and close to city centre.

Da Peerie Snug was perfect for single guest, Amanda has thought of everything and it was expertly laid out to make use of the small space. The breakfast hamper in the room was convenient and a novelty. The slight drawback is the private bathroom being two floors below but it’s spacious with a good shower. The house was quiet and peaceful, I’d definitely stay there again.

Location is great, quiet street and walking distance to everything in Lerwick. Full kitchen in the studio apartment. Personal touch to the room.

Das Einzelzimmer ist so klein, man kann sich kaum umdrehen. Gepäck sollte man besser nicht dabei haben. Das private Bad/WC ist 2 Stockwerke unterhalb.

Lovely hotel, single room was a little on the small side, but the bathroom downstairs was amazing, coffee machine and Fridge in room were very welcome, bed was very clean and comfortable and I slept very well, breakfast hamper was amazing and also additional extras in the fridge, cold water, juice etc, very quiet location opposite park and bowling club, central for everything couple of minutes walk from ferry port, I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Location of the property is excellent for exploring Lerwick. Parking is free a long the road and plenty of space. The room we stayed in was large, bed and pillows very comfortable and a good sized shower room . The owner responded quickly when messaged . I left a couple of things which were found and I was able to pick up the next day .

The apartment is close to the town centre and it was easy to find. We spoke to the owner on the phone and found her to be very friendly and helpful. Being allowed to store our bags at the accommodation before check-in and after check-out was particularly valuable to us. The apartment is well equipped with almost any imaginable appliance and kitchen utensil, which is amazing for cooking and self-catering. The many complementary breakfast items included milk, juice, waffles and yoghurt, and these are re-stocked every day.

There were so many items in the studio, both practical and decorative, that the room appeared smaller than it probably was. Some of the decorative items appeared noticably dusty, and there was a yellow residue in the kettle. The hover was on the wall next to the coffee table.

Very small bed. The room had very strong smell due to lots of fragrance sticks etc. Almost none natural light. Chicken wake us up before dawn.

A lovely warm welcome from Amanda and her dogs. A gorgeously cosy bed There was a fridge and tea/coffee facilities. 2 filled baskets of continental food…a bit too much carbohydrate. A couple of pieces of fruit would have been a welcolne addition.

Fint værelse, med dejligt badeværelse! Så og imødekommende vært, og alt levede op til forventningerne. Beliggende på en stille gade, og der er parkeringsmuligheder på vejen. Godt udgangspunkt til udforskning af Shetland og Lerwick.

Morgenmaden består af en kurv med forskellige ting samt juice og yougurt er i køleskabet. Man spiser således på værelset, men der er kun et lille højbord, så der er ikke meget plads. Morgenmaden var ok, men uden frisk brød mm.

Amanda has thought of everything needed for guests. Tea, coffee, breakfast hamper, sweets, toiletries were all provided. Room was absolutely stunning. Shower fab. Entry access easy. Good communication. I didn't meet anybody during my stay. The bed was super comfortable and it was peaceful. Thank you Amanda.

The hairdryer was 'sticky'.

Location and staff where excellent. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean

The room was a little small. Although their was a lot for breakfast, it was all pre packaged sugary food.

The bed-sit was very well set out and comfortable. Everything was of high standard and the continental breakfast supplied each day was excellent. Also, our host was very friendly and helpful in many ways. We thank her very much for the effort she ( and her son) put in.

I loved the quaint setting and convenience of the location. The host was wonderful and ended up inviting me to join her for Easter dinner. Dinner was wonderful and it was much appreciated! Snacks, etc. were much appreciated.

It's my fault but I didn't realize my room was on the 3rd floor and the bathroom was on the first floor until a few days before my trip. It was workable but next time I'll read more carefully and choose my room that includes a bathroom! No worries!

Too many dusty artificial flowers. Didn’t see host for two days, found that a bit impersonal as we would have liked to ask questions about the local area.

The most perfect wee place (sorry, Peerie!) to explore Shetland from. As a 23 year old single girl travelling alone for the first time I could not have asked for a better experience. The fridge and microwave in the room is a game changer, and I always felt so safe. Amanda and family are lovely, even helping me get to the ferry on the last day. Excellent location and everyone in Shetland has been so friendly. Could not recommend more!

The breakfast hampers were amazing - packed full of goodies. Great Costa Nespresso pods too! The bed was so comfy - pillows and duvet dreamy- and four poster bed felt like luxury. Lovely little touches like straighteners as well as a hairdryer meant it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. ❤️

Lovely room with very good amenities.Amanda's mum looked after us really well. Amanda responded to pre visit queries very promptly and was very kind with allowing us an early check in.

Nothing really. It was all lovely. Perhaps something a little more savoury in the breakfast hamper but it was full of lots of good things!

The location is fantastic for accessing everything in Lerwick and being able to travel to the rest of the islands. The studio apartment I was in was perfectly set up for staying a few days, with the little kitchen very handy, and with a comfortable bed. The breakfast basket has many options and really sets you up for the day and I benefitted from some wonderful fresh eggs from the chickens. Amanda is lovely and welcoming and had some really good tips for things to do.

Amanda is the absolute salt of the earth and I couldn't ask for a better host. Was made to feel almost like family and I cant praise her enough. Will be back one day and will definitely book Norlande again. It was an emotional few days for me and the support she gave was second to none. What a lady 👏

Great room with lots of extras in a great location. Great value for money

The surprise of arriving and staying in a wee self contained flat. It had everything we needed and more. A lovely basket of food for morning breakfast, fresh milk in fridge with yoghurts, juice, butter and jam. We did not need to buy any additional condiments as it was all there. A welcome of very cheery hens outside our door in morning. Everything clean and well presented. A comfortable stay and location was good for town centre and getting back to airport.

Located in the centre of town with everything just a short walk away. Amanda and her family were so welcoming. The standard of accommodation was excellent - Amanda has thought of everything you might need to make you feel at home during your stay. The breakfast hampers were a lovely touch, there was a fridge stocked with juice, yogurt and milk and a coffee machine.

It was a nice and cosy house, very close to the main shops in Lerwick and not too far of a walk from bigger shops like Tesco & Co-op. Received a very warm welcome and thought the room was very good, especially such a good price for someone travelling solo. Would highly reccomend to anyone considering booking.

I had a wonderful stay at Norlande. The place was perfect for my hiking vacations in Shetland. The host Amanda was very friendly and helpful, at the same time respecting privacy. The room and amenities corresponded to my expectations, as read the description in advance carefully. I didn’t miss anything, the location was perfect, well connected by the bus service. All in all, I enjoyed my stay very much.

I'm satisfied with everything. The room was a bit small, but I expected that, as it was clearly stated in the description on the web site, so it was not a problem.

Location was perfect, an easy walk into the center of Lerwick.

The chairs at the table weren't the most comfortable. Lower table and chairs would have been better, I think.

I liked everything about my stay. The facilities, the thoughtful touches, the general ambience, were all first rate.

1. I didn't have a few nights more, 2. I didn't have time to fit in an accompanied tour on this occasion.
